Chapter 17: The Time Has Come

*Emmett*

When I arrived back at Bella's, I could tell something was bothering her. "Baby, somethin's wrong. Tell me."

She looked at me with a mixture of emotions. "Alice came by."

Shit. "What'd she want?" I said trying not to let her hear the growl in my voice.

"Basically to let you go back to Rosalie, who has come back to town."

"What did you tell her?" I asked nervously.

"I wasnt. No matter who it was. She told me Rosalie would get you back cause after all, I am human"

"Don't worry. I've done told Rosalie she can forget tryin to get me back. I've found my mate."

"I'm not worried. As long as you want to stay with me, I'll stay with you."

"Of course I do." I kissed her head as I pulled her to me. Alice's back stabbing self. Made us all believe she wanted Bella in the family and turn around and help Rose try and get me back.

As we sat watching some show on tv, a knock came at the door. Bella got up to answer it.

"Mom?"

"Bella? I thought you were blind?"

"I was, until my boyfriend's dad done surgery on my eyes."

I sat and listened in, noticing the aggrivation in Bella's voice.

"You going to make me stand out here all day?"

"Come in."

I turned slightly to see Bella and her mom come into the living room. Yeah, Bella definatly took after Charlie in all her looks. Renee looked older than she was, her hair was all frizzed, she looked like she couldn't take care of herself.

"Why hello. Aren't you a looker." She batted her fake lashes at me.

"Mom, don't. Emmett, this is Renee."

"Hello, Emmett."

"Hello, Renee."

"So, why are you here?" Bella asked as she sat beside me and slipped her arm through mine.

"I came to get you to come back home. I wanted to take care of you, but seeing as how you arent disabled anymore, you can come back and help me out."

"She's not leaving with you, Renee."

We turned to see Charlie at the doorway.

"You have no say in if she comes with me or not. I took care of her all her life."

"Took care of me? Ha! I was taking care of you! You would leave me to clean up your messes when you come home late or when you got upset over another guy leaving you. I'm not doing that again."

"Isabella Marie."

"Don't 'Isabella Marie' me. I have a life here. With dad & Emmett. Dad took me in, no questions asked after my accident. They couldn't find you. I'm finally getting that relationship with dad that you yanked away a long time ago. I'm stayin here."

"Fine, but don't come crying to me when the people who say they care dump you out and turn their backs on you." Renee said, standing.

"Not likely." Charlie and I said together.

"I'm not like you, Renee."

Renee turned and walked out the door, slamming it. I'm sure a pane of glass cracked.

"Way to go, kiddo. Didn't think you had it in you." Charlie said sitting in his now vacated chair.

"Well, what can I say? I am my father's daughter. I'm sorry you had to hear and witness all that,Em."

"It's okay. Now I see what you were talkin about. I think I'll head on back now. I'll come by sometime tomorrow."

"I'll walk you to the door." Charlie said.

"Night, Bells." I leaned down and gave her a kiss before walking with Charlie.

"Listen, Renee isn't going to stop here to get Bells to go back home with her. When I'm at work, keep an eye on her, will ya?"

"Of course, Cheif. Always do. Seems my sister and ex want Bella out so Rosalie can sneak back in. Trust me, Bella will be safe."

"Thanks. See you tomorrow."

I could feel the worry radiating off of Charlie. I knew I had to keep a close eye on Bella as best I could.

I made my way home, thinking if ways to keep Bella safe. I knew Rosalie wouldn't stop, she was stubborn as hell. This was beginning to be hell on me, but I would go through it for eternity as long as Bella was mine.

*Bella*

Renee's visit pissed me off. She had no right coming in here and trying to sweet talk her way. She could forget it. I had my family here. Dad and Emmett. That's all I needed.

I got so lost in my thoughts, I jumped when my computer started ringing, signaling a video chat. I clicked it open and immediatly smiled at the three guys on the other side.

"If it isn't the three stooges!"

"Chicka! Bout time! You look good!"

"Thanks, Franklin. How ya been?"

"Could be better. We ready to get out of this hell hole." Jenkins replied.

"When they letting you come home?"

"We leave out in two weeks. To stay finally. So, how's things been?" Harding asked.

"Good. Alot better now that I can see. Things look so different yet the same here. I finally seen what Emmett looked like."

"Oh, lord. Don't be gettin all soft on us now, Swan. Where is he?" Harding joked.

"Home. He left an hour ago. I can't wait for you guys to meet him."

"Trust me, we will. We plan on spending some time with you when we get back state side. We going home to our families then flyin your way." Jenkins smiled.

Awesome. Let me know when so I can arrange for you guys a place to stay."

"You got it. Shit. Gota go, chicka. Lights out. Chat later. Adios!" Franklin winked.

"Bye guys." I couldn't help but laugh at those three. I couldn't wait to see them. I shut down my computer and went to make dad dinner.

"You okay, kid?" He asked as I walked in the kitchen.

"Yeah, dad. I'm okay."

"I want you to know, I'll never throw you out or stop caring for you."

"I know. She just hates someone else has my attention. I took care of her long enough."

"You're right. It's time someone takes care of you."

"And I'm thankful it has been you, old man."

"Hey, I'm not that old. How about we go out tonight. Just me and you. We can go to Seattle."

"That sounds great. I'll go get ready." I was excited to be going out with dad. We hadn't been to Seattle together since I was a kid.

I decided on my jeans and a pink halter, matching it with my Converse shoes. When I finished, dad was waiting for me. We loaded up in the truck and headed out.

Neither of us knew what would happen on our way back that changed our lives forever.

I watched as Bella and Charlie drove away. Finally I could put plans into actions. I pulled out my phone and dialed a few numbers.

"It's time."

"Okay. See you in ten."

Bella Swan, your time has come.
