Chapter 0 –
In the Ruins of what had once been a church, only the structure telling what it was, no Religious indicators or Symbols present, as if this Place had been wiped clean from such. Yet surrounding it, a Void of whiteness. The place was beyond the normal time and space of the worlds, at least of those a group of figures once ruled over, or they believed they did. They all now remembered that such lavish and ostentatious luxuries were that, luxuries for doing their damned jobs, and they were all to not merely lose it all, but also be probably sentenced to some terrible fate, one befitting their absolute failures at the ONE task asked of them by those above them. And oh how Karmic Irony is HOW those higher-ups got wind of their misdeeds, all it took was ONE excessive bout of petty revenge going too far for too long.
That one "victim", an Atheist with hints of some less than pleasant mental aspects, died too soon, and having never done anything meriting said death as due Karma, neither was he a good or bad person, no. Neutral, a person with lots of wasted potential due to his character, a degree of inferiority complex and generally feeling content living as he did until a fired employee he gave the slip murdered him in a bout of selfish anger. With an untimely death, an unfair reason to die, and a Life so far with nothing warranting good or bad Karma labels, his case was simple and easy, put him back into the wheel with a small positive boon to compensate for his unfair death before his due time. Instead, they all let one of them be an asshole idiot, angry at an Atheist throwing some cold hard logic his way, they all were fine with this happening and screwing with that sod, to them, Atheists were mere wastes in the wheel of reincarnation after all, no harm in screwing them. Yet they forgot one rather important thing and paid dearly for it.
After long enough of only having shit happen to their little group, a certain atheist finally died, somehow making quite a golden legacy to her second world, not in the best mood, they simply decided to vent their misery onto that soul, again, and threw it once again onto a new life of shit, not to try breaking said atheist onto praying to them, but just out of spite for daring having made a nice life out of what should been her punishment. And then the cycle formed, more and more, only shit went their way, worsening their moods, then the atheist dies and is sent to an even worse new life, and their time doing useless shit got slapped with even worse incidents…. Until one side in this disaster-ridden cycle had to admit defeat or break, and the atheist broke, to TERRIBLE effect, the aftermath was not only impossible to clean, their grip on that last world they ditched her to suffer had become nonexistent, the atheist having caused such amounts of damage, damage that obliterated all religious groups in that world, and the level of destruction so much that the denizens there outright developed an ingrained fear of Religion, that almost ended in her own self-destruction, but they lost the capacity to monitor that world before they could confirm that, just in time to realize they had no more worlds under their rule. Instead, they all saw themselves in front of the top authorities of the Hierarchy, and the reason for such presence? The atheist, somehow.
"I have to applaud your collective ability to FUCK THINGS."
The voice was clearly not in a good mood, because all present now couldn't deny a rather important fact, the one in Charge of Karma being the speaker, and now the pieces had fallen neatly in place, in their petty act of unjustified misdeeds to an atheist, they forgot said atheist had a Neutral Karma, and they let X not merely do ONE act of unjust grievance to that soul, BUT THREE. One was already bad news, even the top Entities in this whole system did things with the utmost care when Neutral Karma became a factor, and they all went and not merely made the Soul bound to that specific Karma suffer one lifetime of bad things she somehow managed to turn into a net positive to that world and her life, one world they remember doing… not so nice things to burn said net positive down. But not just that, they pushed that soul and Karma through so much shit, one life after another, that the Karma reached a disastrous level.
"And to think you as a whole managed to make the issue irreparable, not under normal means at least…."
That got those brainlets that they were weirded, it was just one Soul and Karma, right? There're plenty of solutions due to similar occurrences from the past.
"And since you are all so inept, unskilled, and absolute evidence for that Atheist to be in the right, let's make it clear, SHE ISN'T ONE SOUL, FATE, OR LIFE, not since you made the first fuck up."
Another comes, The one tasked with Existence.
"You basically gave The atheist's Karma full carte blanche for three moves, moves that cursed two innocent existences to the very disastrous fate you cursed the Atheist. And then went to cause them just as much undue suffering as well."
They wouldn't dare speak, with three Karmas in complete disarray, bound to a singular fate, and forced into one singular Life path, they couldn't see how a solution would be made.
"They sealed their fate with the last incident, Three damaged and irrevocably mistreated souls, no way this can be solved anymore, only salvaged and mitigated."
The third presence is one tasked with the numerous parts unrelated to either Karma's or Existence's main duties.
"Now…. To this…... GARBAGE… The minimum is to strip all of them of this domain, then curse them to an endless cycle of Living in punishment."
"But WHAT should be theirs?"
Karma Manager asked.
"They forced one through unfair reincarnations, cursed two unrelated ones to the same fate, and then cursed them to said fate themselves…. Only fair they all suffer a similar fate, but also be left to be the powerless one in the equation."
Existence Manager spoke.
"So they are to be cursed to be powerless to their fate, be at the mercy of those who they persistently tormented, and to be in a state they never shall have anything but misery and no recognition at all, got it."
Karma made a note in an imaginary piece of paper and left, shortly after, the other two left. What seemed an eternity soon passed, powerless, and then a new pair came, the male they all recognized, the female…. Couldn't be her, the atheist, no, the aura, presence…. Her Karma.
"The Punishment slated to them as they negotiated, No power, cursed to always be at Her mercy and to never be acknowledged or recognized for anything, and the leash is to the one they caused the most grief, the three you care so much for."
The smile coming onto that face was unsettling, and only now all of them began to accept their demise, their perpetual torment.
"Good…. They better… learn what a Jimmy is quick."
Somewhere, Earth, unknown location.
A buzzing sound, a Phone like device, the owner picks it up and accepts the call.
"Yes? I see, understood. Her? Stable, unknown when she will wake up. Worry not, this time, this time it will be finally a good life."
Turning off the call, he hums, a tune he knows the young person next to him would recognize, that face, such peaceful expression, and yet once more, she will have to basically rip and tear a path to peace and what has been denied her for so, so much time. A small tinge of sadness comes to him, but he resigns in his chair, after all, everyone has to earn their own fate, happiness, she cannot be the exception, even after all that those idiots went to such absurd levels at her many Lifes, but at least he can help her, an OP Boon, sure, but one has to experience the degree of BS she has been unjustly forced to realize it's only fair some Broken OP benefit is her due gift.
"Well… wake up soon Fraulein, a happier tale awaits you."
He then slumps at the chair, to get a short nap, as much as possible before she returns.
