Brook's POV

We go to a pet store called 'Paws&Claws'. We go inside and it's huge. Felix still clutches my hand and asks if I can come with him to look for a cat. We go to the cat section.

"So what kind of cat are you looking for Little Man?" I ask Felix.

"A fluffy orange one."

"Alright. Why don't we see if they have orange tabby cats?"

"Ok." We walk around and I hear him gasp. I follow his gaze to a small orange tabby with pale green eyes.

"I love him." Felix says. I go find someone who works there and they let Felix hold the cat. I can see in his eyes that he fell in love immediately. He looks at me with pleading eyes. I turn to the lady.

"We'll take him," I say. She takes Felix to the register.

I start to walk around. I see Oliver playing with a baby bloodhound. I look for Nico to see how he's doing and I find him standing in a dark corner, alone.

"What's wrong babe?" I ask.

"Eh, nothing."

"Come, lets go find you a pet."

"Animals don't really like me." (A/N Mrs. O'Leary disagrees!)

"I'm sure there is at least one that likes you in here. Come." I say as I start to drag him. He seems like a dog person. I don't even bother with puppies, he's not the cutesy type.

"Hey Brook?" Nico asks.

"Sup?"

"Look." He says. He's pointing to a 3 year old male black lab. He's so handsome with his deep chocolate brown eyes.

"You like him?" I ask hopefully.

"Yeah." As he says that the dog sits up and stares at him with loving eyes and wags his tail. He goes to the register and pays for the dog. That was easier than I thought. Now it's my turn.

I'm not really sure what I'm looking for. I know I want a dog. I look around a bit until a beautiful pair of blackish brown eyes meet mine. She's a 10 month old german shepherd. I put my hand on her cage and she nestles it with her nose.

"I'm guessing you found the one?" Someone asks behind me. I turn around a see Zeke, son of Athena and Legacy of Hermes. He's kinda a legend because he's a Demigod and a Legacy.

"Yup. You?"

"Nope."

The two of us walk to the register and I pay for my dog. I fill out the forms. I decide to name her Maya, which means power, wisdom or illusion.

"Hey do you guys have any Border Collies?" Zeke asks the sales clerk.

"Yeah we have one but he's brilliant, a little to brilliant. Very mischievous."

"Perfect."

Ten minutes later we all meet outside. We start heading to central park to hang out when we hear an angry growl and a small whimper.

"What was that?" Mikayla asked.

"Sounded like a Telkine," Nico says. "Come on!" And he takes of running with all of us in toe.

All of the sudden Nico comes to a halt. In front of us there are 5 large adult Telkine with their backs to us. In the middle of them it looks like the were attack a dog, trying to eat it.

"Okay, here's the plan," Zeke say. "Felix, take the pets and watch them, no buts. Brook we need you to rescue the dog. Now the rest of us will distract and kill the Telkine. The teams are Layla and Oliver, Ryder and Mikayla, Kaitlyn and Shane, Me and Jade. Sorry Nico you're by yourself, but you do have the most experience."

We all nod our head in agreement, though Felix looks a little upset as he's steers out pets in the other direction.

"On 3," Jade says. "One...Two….THREE!" We all ran. I spoke to Backbiter and he appeared in my hand. I charged toward the middle to get to the puppy, and I see all my friends fighting the monster. Zeke and Jade killed one and went to help the others, and I dive to the dog and I hear the battling starting to slow.

"BROOK! Watch out!" I hear Kaitlyn's voice screech. Then suddenly I feel a sharp pain in my back. I cry out and fall, I feel a warm substance trickle down my back, blood. I then see Ryder kill the last Telkine as everyone runs to me. Nico picks my head up and puts it in his lap.

"Brook…" Nico trails off, his eyes full of worry.

"I'm fine Nico. Is everyone else ok?" I choke out.

"Yeah we're ok Brook." Layla says.

"SHANE!" Micky (Mikayla) screams.

"I'm coming. Nico turn her on her side please and lift up her shirt."

Nico helps me turn over and moves my shirt up revealing a large gash on my back. I feel Shane pour something on my back, nectar I'm assuming. Then I suddenly feel much better.

"Oh Brook! Are ok?" Little Felix calls.

"Yeah I'm good." I say. Then I realise I'm still holding the puppy. She's a little husky with blue-grey eyes and black, white, and grey fur.

"Does she have a collar?" Oliver asks.

"No I think she's a stray." I say then turn to Nico. "Can I keep her? Pleeeeeeeease?"

"Fine." He sighs.

"Yay!" He helps me up and we walk back to the dorms.

Kaitlyn's POV

"You know we never looked in the closet to see our clothes." I tell Brook once we get our pets and ourselves settled.

"Wanna look now?" Brook asks in a way that tells me she really doesn't care.

"Duh!" I say and run to the large walk in closet with Brook in toe.

"Wicked ." I mumble. It's huge. I first look at Brook's stuff cause clearly she won't herself. Besides you can totally tell what's her stuff and what's mine. Each of us have a wall lined with clothes. The back wall has one giant cubby for shoes, each with a mirror in the middle of the two. On the front wall there are two large dressers on either side of the door with a mirror on top of each.

There is not one skirt in Brooks literally only has five dresses in there. All of her shoes are combat boots or sneakers except for a few Docs, 3 pairs of sandals and some formal shoes. All of her pants and shorts are jean, except for one pair of black leggings with a fake leather X on each leg that wraps all the way around. And most of her shirts are blue and black. Her stuff is full of rips, words, sick designs and basically everything that says 'Hey I'm Brook and I love bothering Kait with my fashion choices!"

I go to her dresser. In the largest bottom drawer there are a ton of different colored beanies. The next drawer has lots of other accessories. The top draws has undergarments.

While on my side I have at least fifteen dresses, skirts of all patterns and colors you can imagine, tops, jeans with artistic designs and rips, leggings galore, shoes of all kind (heels, high top sneakers, flats, combat boots, regular boots, and etc.) In my dresser there are snapbacks, and sunglasses, etc.

"Wow." Brook says. "That's a lot of clothes."

"Yeah" I say mockingly. She just shakes her head and walks out. Oh well.

Nico's POV

I'm hanging out with Astro and the guys when I hear a knock at the door. I get up and open it.

"Sup Brook?" I ask.

"Hey, can we go for a walk?" She asks.

"Sure." I say and close the door behind me. She leads me out to the woods behind the dorms.

"What's the matter?" I ask

"I'm nervous." She mumbles.

"About what?"

"Tommorow. School starts and lets just say in my old school I wasn't loved."

"You'll be fine. Kait and I will be there and so will the rest of the gang. Percy will be there too. Everything will be fine. Come on let's go back. We will need the sleep if we are to get through the first day of school.
