A/N: Updates to all! *throws books into the crowd* Hey everyone this is the continuation of the last chapter! So yeah we kind of abandoned you guys, but we're back! So R&R guys and we will be back!

Brooks POV
After our little talk Percy goes to his desk and gives the introduction to the unit and proceeds to teach class normally.
As soon as class is over I meet up with Kait to go to study hall.
"BonJour Rooks" Kait says happily.
"Sup Kaity Lynn". I respond.
"Really Kaity Lynn!?". She says with a mock scowl.
"Yup deal with it." I say as I walk into Paul's classroom and take the seat next to Nico. He doesn't even look up I then realize that he's sleeping. I look at Oliver and he just shrugs.
"He wouldn't stop sulking about what happened in Math so I put him to sleep." Oliver says and I just laugh.
Suddenly I hear lots of yelling then Paul and Percy coming running in and the class goes silent.
"TERAS!" Percy yells waking up Nico.
"What's the situation?" Zeke asks.
"Two hydra, eight hellhounds, and a Scythian Dracaena." Percy says.
"Ok. Percy, you, Brook and Nico should take on the Scythian Dracaena. I will take one team to take on one hydra. Layla, Taz and Ryder you're with me. Jade you take Alexander, Jack and Molly and go after the other Hydra. Kaitlyn, take George, Emily, Layla, Sebastian, Chloe, Riley and Amy, you guys take care of the hellhounds. Shane and Nicole you two will be on stand by for healing. Everyone else protect the school and be on call. Go!" Zeke explains quickly. We all get out our weapons and run outside and we see the monsters coming up the street. Percy pulls Nico and me to the side.
"Here's the plan," he says. "Scythian Dracaena hate storms. Nico you distract it while Brook and I build up a massive storm. I know you haven't done this before Brook but I'll help you don't worry. Once the storm is formed it will charge us, that's when you make the final blow Nico." We both nod and get in position.
Percy takes my hand in his and closes his eyes. His shoulders tense and suddenly I feel drops of rain hit my face. I look up to see a storm starting to form. I close my eyes and concentrate on it. I think of the smell of the wet pavement after it rains, the flashes of lighting and the booms of thunder. I feel the winds start to increase, the rain gets heavier, and the noise of the rain drowns out the screams of my friends.
Then I hear the only scream that matters to me at the moment, the scream of a dying Scythian Dracaena.
I open my eyes to see gold dust raining down on us. Then I see Nico clutching his arm with a wide smile.
"You did it Brook!" He yells and I walk towards him. I moved his hand away from his left are only to see a gash about 3 inches long on his bicep.
"I'm ok." He whispers in my ear. "It just a scratch."
"Brook, I need you to move so I can look at Nico's arm okay?" Riley says from behind me. I step aside and let her do her thing.
I walk over to Percy and Will.
"What's the damage Will?" Percy asks.
"Thank the gods not much. One broken arm and some scratches, nothing a little nectar and ambrosia can't fix."
"Good." Percy says then turns back to all of us. "Time to get back to class guys. In all of your lockers is a pad of already made up notes take one and give it to your teachers. Everyone proceed to fourth period."
Fourth and fifth period breezed by. Finally it's lunch now. The whole gang meets outside and we sit together.
"What's up guys?" Layla asks.
Before any of us can answer a hand starts to tug at the back of my shirt. As I'm turning around they start to pull my hair making me fall off the bench.
"You're in my seat." Abigail say, smirking down at me. Nico quickly gets up and helps me off the ground as all of the other girls get up out of their seat.
"I know you didn't just do that." Kaitlyn says.
"I think you're blind then cause I'm pretty sure I just did." She answers.
"I suggest you just walk away before you get hurt." Micky says.
"Oh yeah? Who's gonna make me?"
"Me." Jade says. I can see in hear eyes that she's analyzing her weaknesses. This is about to get ugly.
"As if." Abigail says.
"I know your type. Fake red hair, cake face makeup. Captain of the cheer squad, the 'it' girl. But I can see behind all if it, you're insecure. You make threats but then have others follow through with them for you so you won't break a nail. If they get caught, you run, let them take the blame. You know people only like you for your money and looks. You know you're really nothing." Jade says. Then we all sit down as Abigail walk away in a huff.
"One word" I say. "Woah."
"What?" Jade asks.
"That was freakin incredible! How'd you do that."
"I can see people's strengths and weaknesses remember. It's not only in battle you know."
"Wow! Guys I just want to say thank you. I really appreciate that."
"No problem, that's what friends are for." Kait says. And everyone starts to talk but I notice that Nico is strangely quiet.
"Follow me." I whisper into his ear and then walk back into the building. A few minutes he he comes in. I take his hand and start to walk.
"What's up with you? You ok?"
"Yeah." He mumbles.
"Nico I know you're upset just please tell me what's going on."
"I'm fine."
"Nico_"
"I SAID I'M FINE BROOK! GODS JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!" He yells and then storms off. I sink to the floor, knees brought up to my chest. Then I hear footsteps coming down the hall. I look up and see Paul sit beside me.
"He'll get over it."
"How much did you hear?" I ask.
"All of it. Brook don't worry. Nico feels like if he lets his emotions out they will just turn on him, don't worry about it, ok?" He says. I just nod. He hugs me closer and I lean my head on his shoulder.
I could get used to this whole 'new family' thing.
*Skip to last period (gym)*
Ahhh! Finally last period, gym, my favorite! I got to the locker room and change into a pair of black basketball short and a blue tank top. I go into the gym. The whole gang has gym now, with some other demigods and mortals, including Abigail. I walk over to the gang and we talk, but out of the corner of my eye I see Nico standing in the dark corner of the room.
"Alright guys!" The coach yells. "This year will be learning a bit of self defense. To test your abilities and what group you'll be in I have randomly paired you with a partner. You will be fighting that partner so I can see your skills. These are your groups."
He turns over a chalk board and I see my partner is Abigail. Oh this will be good!
There are a bunch of fights. If there's a demigod, mortal pair the demigod usually wins. Finally it's my turn. I don't fight much but I think I do much more the Abigail so I should be good.
We both step onto the mats. I look her up and down as we circle each other. She's wear short black compression shorts and a purple crop top. Her stance is all off and hands put up to protect her face sloppily. She looks to her left and winks at Nico. In her moment of distraction I punch my gloved hand into her stomach, she doubles over in pain.
"I'm not going to hit you again until you get up. You're safe, I don't hit a down man." I state. She gets up and charges at me angrily. I easily dodge it. I sweep her legs out from under her and she hits the ground. The coach blows the whistle and I start to walk away but Abigail grabs my ankle causing me to fall on my face. I feel the warm, crimson blood trickle out of my nose. She turns me over and sits on her torso. Before she can hit me I flip her over and put her in the same position she just had me in. I punch in the temple, knocking her out. I get up off her and walk out of the gym.
I walk down the hall towards the only room that I know I'll be truly safe in, W-19. I open the door and see percy sitting at his desk, probably marking our pop quiz from today. He turns and looks at me.
"What's up Kiddo? What happened to your nose?" He asks me.
I explain the whole story to him from beginning to end. He tells me to sit on his desk while he goes over to the sink. He wets a towel and puts a drop of nectar on it.
"You can hang out in here until schools over okay? I'll page the coach and tell him you're with me." He says as he starts to wipe my nose.
"Ok." I say. "How are things with you and Annie?"
"Great, while you were setting up your room yesterday we had our first ultrasound and oh my gods, it was amazing. Peanut is so… I don't know, blobby I guess. By the way I can't believe you convinced Annabeth to let you call her Annie."
"It took a while but I eventually convinced her. What am I supposed to wear tonight?"
"Um my mom really doesn't care but we are trying to dress a little bit nicer tonight."
"Ok."
"Kait!" I call from the closet in our dorm. "Can you help me pick out an outfit for tonight? I really want to make a good impression on Percy's mom."
"Sure." She says as she walks in. She goes through my section of the closet mumbling things under her breath. While she tears through my closet Maya walks in and cocks her head with the 'what is she doing' look. I just shrug and look back to Kaitlyn as she pulls out my outfit.
"Here." She says as she hands me a pair of grey jeans with a black leather stripe going down each leg, a black belt, grey flats, and a sleeveless black sheer button up shirt.
"Thanks." I say and walk into the bathroom. I start to change.
"Are you coming back to the dorms tonight or are you staying at Percy's tonight?" I hear Kaitlyn ask through the door.
"Percy's. I'm taking Nala and Maya too." I say as I walk out of the bathroom. Kait takes my arm and sits me in the vanities chair. She does a simple fishtail braid to the side and doesn't change my very little amount of makeup.
I get a text from Percy saying that he's wait for me down stairs. I grab Nala's and Maya's leashes and attach them to their collars. I start down the stairs when I bump into someone, I look up to only to see Nico sadly staring down at me.
"Brook, can we talk, please?" He asks me, but I'm not ready to talk. I care about him, I was trying to help him but all he did was yell at me.
"No. I have to go. I'll see you tomorrow." I say and walk right past him. Down the stairs, into the lobby. I see Annabeth and Percy standing there waiting for me. Annabeth is wearing a grey and light pink patterned pencil skirt, loose grey top, low cut grey uggs and owl necklace. Percy is wearing a plaid blue and green shirt with jeans and converse.
"You ready to go?" Annabeth asks me.
"Yeah I'm ready." I say. We all walk outside and hop in the car, on the way to the Blofis residence.
Percy's Pov
We finally arrive at my mother's house. Annabeth is so excited she was literally jumping out of her seat the whole way here. Brook on the other hand, not so much. She seems as nervous as can be. I knock on the door and after a few seconds Paul opens the door. We all say our hellos and walk in. Paul leads us to the kitchen where I see my mom taking food out of the oven.
"Hi mom!" I say.
"Percy!" She screams and pulls me into a huge hug. Then she goes to Annabeth and hugs her as well. Then she turns to Brook.
"Well, you must be Brook." she says.
"Yup. It nice to finally meet you Mrs. Blofis." Brook says and puts her hand out to shake. Instead Mom pulls her into a bone crushing hung.
"Please, call me Sally!" She says.
"Um okay, hi Sally!" Brook replies.
"So how are things going with work?" Mom asks.
"Good." Both Annabeth and I reply.
"How about you, Sally." Annabeth asks.
"Well, I got a new job at the ASPCA also known as American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. I help place rescued animals into a good home." She says.
"That's so cool!" Brook says.
"Yeah I really love it. I actually have a rescue dog, she's a 2 year old Cockapoo named Lilly." Mom says and as if on cue we hear a small bark.
Mom leads us all to the dining room and serves us all dinner. We all talk and eat.
At around 11 o'clock we leave. Gods I love what my family has become…
