Chapter 12- A New Light

"Get your asses moving"

"I want to leave here by dawn"

"Droy!Quit eating and start moving!"

"Umm, Erza-san... I don't think that's necessary-"

"Hush Lucy, they can handle it. Just relax"

"NOW MOVE! YOU! DON'T SLACK OFF. NATSU, QUIT LOOKING THROUGH LUCY'S STUFF!"

"Aye"

"Welcome to R.N. Marionette Lu-chan!"Levy said with glee, clapping her hand on the steel handle on the ship while it slightly bounce on the waves . "I'm really glad you're here." she added.

"Sorry about earlier, I've failed to introduce myself properly. I'm Erza Brynhild" motioning her hands on her chest. "Please carry on any punishment you see fit for my lack of courtesy earlier. Don't hesitate to do it." Erza frown, pounding her hand on her chest.

"Er- heheh" Lucy sweat dropped. Yep, she's the same Erza I knew. She shook her head and said "It's fine Erza-san."

"Just Erza is fine, now that we are comrade-in-arms" she replied back

Lucy gladly nodded her head and looked at the men on the side. "I believe the man clad in boxers is Gray and the guy behind him reading a book is Freed"she stated. Startled by her statement, Gray quickly looks at his clothes or the lack thereof. "Hell, where's my clothes!" he panicked.

"Yep, that's underwear prince alright, Gray Wynter" Natsu said.

"Hey I heard that, block-head!" Gray yelled while slipping on his shirt.

"That guy over there is Freed Lundgren, he's with Levy, Levy Ellette" he added, coming over.

"Wha-?! You two are a couple, Levy-chan?. But-but what about Gajeel?" Lucy stammered, eyes bulging while looking at a blushing Levy.

"What! NO! Gray you idiot" Levy shrieked at Gray, she quickly averted her eyes on Lucy "That not what he meant. Freed-san and I are both scholars, ummm co-workers, that's all!" she huffed quickly. "Um, by the way Lu-chan, who is this Gajeel person?"

"Oh, you haven't met him yet. Don't worry you'll sure meet him someday" Lucy smirked sending wild shudders on Levy's spine.

"Natsu! Lucy's making that face again" Happy clung on Natsu's shoulder squeaked, making Natsu laugh really loud.

"Um, Natsu" Lucy asked "So you can handle transportation this time huh"

"Oh no, Lucy" Gray answered "This idiot can't handle anything. You just watch, he maybe fine now but later he will soon feed the fishes with his mouth" Gray said smirking evilly.

"Who are you calling an idiot? Ice freak!"

"Who do you think? Vomit master"

"Perverted bastard"

"Pink-headed wie-"

"Enough!" Erza screamed, bashing the two idiot's face together, rendering them unconscious for a moment.

"Hehehe" Lucy sweatdropped They're still the same.

"Lucy, please relax and enjoy yourself. It's gonna be a long travel back to the mainland, I'm just going to dump these two morons in their room." Erza stomped off, dragging Natsu and Gray by the shirt with Happy following behind. Levy sighed loudly while running her hand through her bang fluidly. She looked at Lucy and smiled sheepishly "Sorry about that-"

"No it's fine, I'm used to seeing those two fight over the simplest things and Ezra bringing down... the... fina-. Er, Levy-chan?" Lucy stopped seeing Levy's pained expression. Did I say something wrong? she thought, then something click and she stammered " I mean... I'm used to seeing the past Natsu and Gray fight and past Erza to-"

"Oh, Lu-chan I'm sorry. It must have been hard for you. I'm so sorry" she cried silently fisting her hands on her eyes.

"It-its not your fault"

"It is, aren't you mad at us for not doing anything before? I mean the past Levy or Freed or- or-"

I can't change the past Levy. We can't do anything anymore, so it's alright" she pat her head and smiled sadly. "It's fine" I'm fine but why do I feel that my heart is gonna burst.

"But-"

"Tell you what. If you're really feeling guilty, why don't you listen to my story instead? So you will know that the good outweighs the bad experiences" she smiled. Levy looked up and dry her tears "Okey Lu-chan. I like that! Tell me about your life. All of it, the good and the bad" she then produce a slick square device that can fit easily into the palm.

"Is it alright for me to record it? You know for future reference" Levy asked, eyes wide and shimmering.

"Er, sure. I guess"

"Oh thank you Lu-chan"

Laughter and wonder filled their days on the ship, with mages, dragons, demons and monsters filled their imagination. Freed, Levy, Erza, Gray, Natsu and Happy never left Lucy's side, for her soft voice carried such magic of their long past and curiosity pinged their minds. Tears and laughter was shed and hearts were mended except for one. For she might be in the present but her heart is still stuck to the past and no magic or potion can ever heal that. They all though that she's fine but every memory and every recall brings pain and grief thus locking her soul from all of them.

It hurts.

"So that's how we won the Grand Magic Games for the 5th time, this is before Acnologia showed up with his black gigantic butt" Lucy coughed slightly, her throat parched for talking non-stop ever since she was awaken by a violent tremor on her bed by an overly excited Natsu who asked for a story while jumping on her bed. Well a foot on his face wasn't so bad either.

"Land ho!" a screamed from a distance stopped Lucy from her story, earning a groan from the others. Lucy pushed herself into her feet and stretched "I think that's a wrap" she said.

"But- we haven't got to the big part yet" Happy whined, giving the others his wide kitty eyes.

"You always say that buddy. Every time Lucy has to stop" Natsu scratched Happy's head. "And everything is THE big part, ne Lucy" he gave her his wide toothy grin.

Lucy smiled in return "We could do it again. I'm not going anywhere you know" she winked at Happy, who nodded in return.

"That was really great Lu-chan" Levy cheered shutting off her recorder.

"-and very informative" Freed added "I was surprised to know that I was a rune mage and a part of a team by Laxus, whoever he is" he pondered.

"And that's not all but we were all part of a guild! And not just any guild but the legendary Fairy Tail. Every one of us was a mage and and-" Levy squealed out loud, earning a grunt from Natsu, Gray and Happy who are all holding their ears in pain.

"Sorry-"

"and don't forget Gajeel, Levy-chan" Lucy singsong while Levy blushed profusely.

"I-I don't like a guy I didn't even know!"

"That's not what we see Levy, every time Lucy said his name you act... fascinated" Freed said matter-of-factly.

"Mou, that's not- that"

"You liiiikkkkeeee hiimmmm" Happy added, giggling mischievously while hovering on their heads.

"Come back here, Happy!" Levy screeched, face burning intensely while Happy continued teasing her. He flew so fast that he smacked Erza in the face without knowing. Almost breaking her nose, Happy tried to fly away but was easily caught by Erza by the tail.

"Anyone wants a flying cat?" Erza asked swinging a dizzy Happy by the tail.

"I will take him, please" Levy said sweetly while her mind filled with every torture treatment there is.

"Here, enjoy!" Erza simply said throwing Happy in Levy's arms. "Natsu, Lucy! HELP!" Happy cried while the two just laughed.

"Sorry I didn't hear the rest of your tales Lucy. We're nearing the mainland, so I suggest all of you to pack your stuff" with that she struts off and continue to order the crew around.

"Want us to help you Luce?" ask Natsu while they walk down below the deck. Lucy simply shook her head "Nah, it's fine. I'll just ask Virgo to do that for me. I haven't seen any of my spirits lately" she said.

"Ohh, we want to see! Please Lusshhyy,maybe you can summon that fish lady too" Happy ask dreamily. There he goes again, Natsu and Lucy thought.

"I was surprised to know that suit-wearing bastard is your spirit Luce" Natsu stopped, deep in thought. He then suddenly turned around and face Lucy excitedly, "Oh, Oh.. summon him too! I wanna bash his face off!" There he goes again, Lucy and Happy sighed.

They stopped walking once they faced Lucy's door "Alright guys, off you go! I don't want you two, sniffing through my stuff again. Hear that Natsu?! SNIFF!" she ticked off, remembering the time when Natsu opened up her drawers and sniffed her clothes. Disgusting!

Natsu just shrugged and waved "Holler, if you need anything" he grinned.

"I will" she gently closed the door and jumps on her bed. She turned sideways and grab her pillow into her belly.

She cried.

I miss you guys, my nakama, my family.

Hi Natsu!

It's me again! It's just weird that I keep sending you this letters although you're here with me, technically. I know it's harsh but what I really want to be with you Natsu Dragneel and not what who you are now. I know that I have to move on, I already told you goodbye but it's hard. It's so difficult Natsu. My heart ached every time I see your face knowing that you wont remember me and you wouldn't understand.

Now I know how Lisanna felt when she got stuck in Edolas, seeing all those faces but they're different and not the same.

I'm in the present but my heart is stuck with you.

Remember when we were on Edolas, at first I was so happy being the only mage capable of doing my magic. I was so trilled because for the first time. I'm stronger than you and I could protect you. But now, I'm scared.

I would trade any magic in the world just to be with you.

I miss you.
