Kagome's POV

I was never one for silence. When you first travel with Inuyasha, Shippo, Sango, and Miroku you get used to constant banter between everyone. Then after you can't travel with them anymore and you start traveling with Sesshomaru, Jaken, and Rin; well Rin is never quiet so I got used to her endless babble. Walking through town with Kakashi is, well, really quiet. All he is doing is reading that stupid orange book. I had gotten curious and read a few lines over his shoulder and I think I am dealing with another Miroku.

I sighed trying to think what I could say that would start a conversation. "Hey Kakashi? What time are we supposed to meet your students?"

Kakashi, without even looking up from his book, said "Seven"

Something doesn't seem right. I looked up at the sun to check the time. My eyebrows shot up and my mouth dropped open "But, but it's already nine o'clock!"

This time Kakashi did look at me "So it is." he stated ever so calmly, then just kept right on reading.

Now the slow comfortable pace we had been walking seemed like procrastination. For some reason I got mad "What kind of teacher are you?" If I was a second late for any of Sesshomaru's lessons. I shivered at the thought of it.

Kakashi simply stated back "Well, one of the best." I searched for any sign of boasting or lying, but I couldn't sense anything. This lazy man wasn't bragging or even stretching the truth, he was just stating a fact.

I hung my head "I have very low hopes for this village if you, a lazy perverted ninja, is one of the best."

"Hey I take offence to that... I am not a pervert."

I tick marked "That is what you take offence to?" I huffed and started walking off. Only to stop three feet later, I have no idea where I am going. I stopped, all of my anger drained from me. Sighing I turned around and tiredly said "Well come on let's go. I don't want you to be even later."

He smiled at me with that irritating smile, I don't really like his smile. It seems really fake. And I mean come on, who smiles with their eye? I came to a decision then that i will eventually find out what is behind the mask. Five minutes later we made it to a little bridge that had three kids standing on it. One was very orange, one pink, and one black. I looked at Kakashi, he was mostly blue and me I was mostly white. Heehee it's like we are assigned colors. Everybody's aura color matches their clothing as well. Well except for me, my aura is purple.

Suddenly the orange one and pink one yelled in unison "You're late!" My ears behind the illusion went flat to my head. Neither of those two seemed to notice me. The black one did though and I could see the questions in his eyes.

"You see I came across a lost dog this morning and..."

"Lies!" The two yelled together interrupting Kakashi.

I couldn't help myself, his excuse was so close to the truth that i burst out laughing. It was then that the other two finally noticed me.

"Hey Kakashi sensei who is this?" The orange one asked.

"What is so funny?" The pink one asked me.

I wiped the tears from my eyes "Sorry, I didn't mean to laugh but Kakashi's fake excuse was so close to the truth and he didn't even mean it."

Everybody, even Kakashi, was looking at me weird. The orange one looked at Kakashi "So you did find a lost dog this morning?"

"Uh..." Kakashi said.

Answering for him I said "Yes he did, he helped her out when she got a bit confused about where she was." I giggled a bit at the confused look on Kakashi's face. I decided to help him out a bit. Somewhat jokingly I said "It was a cute little dog named Kagome."

Kakashi's eye widened in surprise. "Well alright then, but who are you?" the orange one asked.

I smiled evilly at him "Who am I? My name is Kagome." Now the rest of their eyes widened.

It was the black one who spoke next "So are you calling yourself a dog?"

I smirked at him "A cute dog."

"You are not a dog, you're a human." The pink one said. I am not quite sure if I really like her.

"I am a dog though." I said with a pout. I didn't really want to take the ribbon off and show them my ears and tail. It was kinda nice to be known as i used to be and not the half demon I am now.

The orange one bounced up to me "How are you a dog?" he asked me, he seemed genuinely curious.

I decided to play with him a bit. I had sensed something earlier that had peaked my interest. I leaned down and whispered in his ear, quiet enough so nobody else could hear me "How are you a fox?"

All of the blood drained from his face and he jumped back stuttering "W-what do do you mean? I-I'm not a-a-a."

I smiled sweetly at him, put a finder over my lips, and winked at him. The color came back to his face when he realized I wasn't going to tell anybody. He smiled a small smile at me.

The other's reactions were slightly different. The black one was glaring at me, probably trying to be intimidating. Nice try kid, but I have been living with Sesshomaru for 200 years now and have become immune to the glare. Well all except Sesshomaru's when he is mad, he can still scare the crap out of me. The pink one was completely confused, she had no idea what had just happened. Kakashi was looking at me with a slight edge of untrusting-ness. I wasn't exactly happy about that one, I really wanted Kakashi to trust me.

"So I haven't gotten any of your names yet." I told them.

"Oh my name is Naruto Uzumaki and I'm going to be the Hokage one day. Believe it!"

"My name is Sakura Haruno, nice to meet you." She turned to the boy in black and started saying "This is…"

I interrupted her "I did not ask you what his name was, I asked him." I strolled up to the black one and got right in his face. I could tell that he didn't like it at all, but he kept a cool look on his face. I smiled at him, I am more than used to working with people like him. Only the ones I work with are more dangerous, because they are demons. "So boy in black what is your name?"

"Hnn."

I smiled at him again a little more evilly this time "So do you want me to call you boy in black forever? Or would you rather I call you by your name?" I could sense the amusement coming from Kakashi and Naruto. Sakura was distressed that I was so close to the boy, she must have a crush on him.

The boy glared at me again but conceded and said "Sasuke."

I then gave him my sweetest smile "Well Sasuke, it's nice to finally meet you!" I turned to Kakashi "So Kakashi, what are you going to teach your cute students today? Can I help?"
