Ayano's POV:-

I shot down into the cavern and launched towards Kazuma's aura , barely containing my rage .

'...YOUR BLOOD IS DELICIOUS .'

There will be plenty of use for it soon .

This was a battle . No emotions , no distractions , ... Just focus and fight .

I burst through the wall and locked into Kazuma's heat signature despite not being able to see him . I sensed the dirtbag's aura which was becoming more and more concentrated between this location and the place I came .

Sh*t, He must have realised that Ren...NO ! FOCUS ! Ren can do this! I Know he can!

I landed and raised my hand as crimson flames began to form. My eyes noticed the dark red patch on one of the broken spikes ...and then flickered towards Kazuma's location .

Oh , What the heck ! I did decide ' no more secrets '.

"BLOODY ROSE ! MATERIALISE!!"

I grabbed the hilt of my golden blade and brought it down to the ground . The flames spread across the ground and walls covering it all in a thin layer of glass.

Using that instant of blindness I threw my sword to the side and jumped up and the wind caught me . In one second the air distorted and Kazuma appeared in front me , seemingly fine . I narrowed my eyes at him , ignoring how he gave the same look towards my sword which was currently being swallowed by the earth .

"I saw the blood ."

He turned towards me , desperately trying to not yell at me for coming back . He knew it was pointless . With a sigh the air around his arm distorted to reveal a small gash completely clean of dirt , but bleeding ...very , very badly .

I swallowed my gasp . He can survive the wound but the blood loss .

"We need to stop the bleeding ."

"I know , which is where you come in ..."

Say what now ?

"...you need to burn it shut ."

My eyes widened and my breath hitched . Granted , that's what I would do to myself using my true flame , but...

"Ayano..."

I looked up from the wound to see his eyes .

"...I can take it ...and if I guessed correctly , that freak would sense me if I try to heal it , wouldn't he ?"

"If you used your contract ?...yes ..."

Kazuma looked around and noticed a lack of random attacks .

"...Why did he stop attacking ?"

I narrowed my eyes and placed my hand on the wound pinching it shut . Kazuma grimaced . I filched .

"He's trying to take away my sword . It has the same essence as your contract because of it's unique origins..."

Kazuma's muscles tensed at that word .

"...but it's bonded to my soul , so he can't ...taste it , ..like your blood ."

My voice was laced with venom as I spat out the last few words . Kazuma placed his hand on my shoulder and gave me a reassuring squeeze . The blood once again began to sweep out the wound.

He gave a dry chuckle .

"We've got a lot to talk about ."

I froze .

The way he said that . Like there was some future to look forward to . Didn't he hear me say I was leaving ? I looked up and saw his eyes looking at me ...lovingly, as if reassuring me that he was fine . My eyes widened , my pulse began to race...no,No,NO!

I can't do this right now .

Must . Focus .

I generated a small amount of heat around the wound , calming the muscles and placed my palm completely over it and applying pressure .

A small light appeared beneath my palm as I set the timer .

I stepped away from him and took a deep breath and let it out before looking up with firm eyes . His eyes widened slightly but I had to stop it.

The battle isn't over yet .

"In 20 seconds , the fire will start and the flesh will begin to burn shut the wound . The pain will make your energy hiding and dodging difficult so I'm gonna lead him away ."

Kazuma eyes narrowed .

"He wants me , not you ."

I smirked .

"He wants the spiritual essence of your contract and I told you already .."

I moved my arm and Bloody rose appeared in my hand with a swish of crimson flames .

"...I have it too."

With a burst of energy , I jumped down and landed in a shot of flames and backflipped away , taking off into the same cavern I came from . Since I could sense that dirtbag's aura in the ground , I could tell his range was weakening and I wanted to find his body so Kiara could kill him off fast when she got here , plus it made me an easier target and I could check on Ren as I passed under him .

The attacks were disorganised and random but as long I didn't stop moving , they would never hit.

I shot past another wall and ...ducked just in time for a rock-fist to shoot right over my head.

"YOU DARE TRY TO TRICK ME?"

I shot past the range and continued running . Oh , great ! He's pissed . Well , I do have that effect on people . And it's for the best anyway .

"WASN'T THAT HARD , STUPID !"

One thing about most incredibly strong anythings .

They have Huge egos .

His aura began to concentrate on my location , leaving Kazuma with enough breathing room to let his concentration lax a little .

The walls began to get more and more narrow . Sh*t ! This is bad . Constantly disintegrating the earth takes way too much energy . Best shot would be to reach his body ...fast.

Focusing my energy to my feet , I launched straight through the walls , going in a direct path towards the source of his aura .

"STOP !.."

The earth tried to swallow me but I excluded enough heat to disperse it until...

"...YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED THERE!!"

...I reached the source .

My feet touched the metal floor .

My eyes widened , my breath hitched . A quiet gasp left my lips .

"no!"

That moment of hesitation gave him a small opening ...and he took it.

The next second arms of rock grabbed me from behind and launched me back into the cavern . I landed but a cocoon of rock sealed itself around my head . The flames I was releasing used up the oxygen .

Darkness clouded my vision , rocks hardened around my face and despite crystallising it , I couldn't melt it fast enough .

My senses went numb ...and I fell .

"AYANO!"

Kazuma's POV:-

I stood there , watching as she launched herself back into the cavern she came from .

"YOU DARE TRY TO TRICK ME?"

"WASN'T THAT HARD , STUPID !"

She just had to say that , didn't she ?

The timer went off and the flames began to fuse my skin .

It hurt .

A Lot.

I bit my lips to keep from crying out but as expected , my concentration faltered. I focused on hiding my energy as well as I could and once the wound was shut and my focus rekindled , I shot after Ayano.

And I saw her.

I watched her fall , her head enclosed in a case of rock .

I launched towards her , not bothering to hide my presence and tackled her before she head hit the ground . The wind cushioned the catch and I used the momentum to launch back into whatever room that monster tried to force her out of . The time during the small lapse in attacks was used to remove the rock around Ayano's head .

She was breathing.

Unconscious ... But breathing.

The next second , the monster brought the roof down ...literally .

The roof came down on both of them and forced me with Ayano under me to the ground . Both of my hands were on either side of her head as I braced himself up above her unconscious body forcibly pushing against the crushing rock with my wind .

My hands felt the metal floor . For some reason , the monster refused to break the floor . But we were still trapped and Ayano was still unconscious .

So I slowly lowered my lips to her ear ...and bit ...Hard.

A loud gasp exacted her lips as her body tensed . Her eyes shot open and she took in their position and the situation .

The next second , both her hands shot up against the crushing wall of rock and crimson flames erupted from them , breaking down and glassing enough rock to give me space to wrap my arms around Ayano and shoot us both into another nearby cavern.

On the surface :

A cracking sound causes Ren to turn just in time to see the earth cover a large hole . The edges of this hole were ash... not glass, ...black ash.

Ren blinked .

That Was fast.
