I know this too a bit longer but stuff is finally happening! They set off next chapter, also I got a review saying that i should class this as a role play thing because I made Gaius do something he wouldn't. I not going to because that is just a hole in my story, also my story I can make them do as i wish muhahahaha.

Merlin whimpered in the corner of the candlelit room as Gaius took the blood cover rag that he was holding to the side of his head and replaced it with a clean one.

'Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry.' Merlin whined continuously with his hands clasped to his head. His nails were digging deep into his skin, so deep that he drew blood.

'Merlin, how many more times do I have to say it? It's fine. You are making yourself worse. Stop thinking about it. The old cronk continues to live, you haven't bumped me off just yet.' Gaius shook his head as a brief smile danced across his lips.

'Still, i attacked you and you are bleeding. I should leave, I should just leave Camelot and never return. I am a liability to everyone if I stay.' Merlin stood up and began to walk across the room his own blood dripping from his fingertips.

'Merlin stop it,' Gaius said starting after Merlin.

'Stop.' Merlin shouted at Gaius with his back turned to him. 'I am afraid that if I touch you it will be fatal. Don't tempt me Gaius.'

'You can control it Merlin, control your power.' Gaius said calmly. 'With a bit of training you will be fine.'

' THATS THE PROBLEM I CANT, no matter how hard i try i will never be able too! You dont understand what it feel like, its not something i can control'.

'Yes it is, you are the one who doesn't seem to understand. Merlin, you have to open that space in your mind that will allow you to control your actions. I can't help you if you are not willing to believe in yourself.'

'But how long did it take them? I dont have time Gauis!' Merlin said in frustration.

'MERLIN.' Gaius bellowed. 'Just stop' he pleaded.

Merlin eyes began to well with tears as he looked at his mentor, he slowly walked towards Gaius and sat down next to him.

'There is another way...' Gaius stated.

'what do you mean there is another way?' Merlin questioned.

'Your Grandfather traveled to a lake, far away from here, if you drink from its waters it will cleanse you, the darkness will begin to fade overtime'

'Why didnt you tell me this before!' Merlin angrily standing up confronting him.

'BECAUSE I DON'T WANT YOU TO DIE!' Gaius shouted.

Merlin jumped at the sudden volume, he stood back in shock and saw Gaius's eyes filled with many emotions.

'When you drink the water there is a chance that you will die, and I can't lose you Merlin your the only thing i have left' Gaius admitted.

Merlin looked around unsure of what to say.

'What are the chances of death?'

'it depends on the person, If the good in there soul outweighs the darkness then it will cleanse but if the darkness is larger than the good...then you die'

'And you don't believe I am better then my dark side, you don't think i can do this?'

'You can, your the best person i know Merlin, you are better then this curse, but there will always be that smallest possibility that you die and I dont know how I would live without you' Gaius pleaded with Merlin.

'I can do this'

'If your going to do this, then I'm going with you, no questions' Gaius gave a small smile.

'Okay, but what am I going to tell Arthur, I can't just leave him'

The door swung open to reveal Arthur standing there staring at Merlin, He strode forward toward his friend and stopped inches from him. There were loud footsteps walking up the stairs, the Knights appeared within the doorway.

'You're not going alone, were all coming, and you're not allowed to die' Arthur said in a neutral tone not wanting to seem weak at this moment in time.

'How long were you stood there?' Merlin questioned.

'Long enough' Spoke Arthur giving his friend a serious look.

'I thought you hated me' Merlin looked up at Arthur.

'Never' Arthur declared.
