Author's note: Hi there! Long time no see, it's been a few years now, nice to see everyone here! I've been busy for the past few years, TL:DR, I started an anime blog ( ) please check if any of you are interested in that kind of stuff. On top of that, I've also been extremely busy with work. Lately however, while reading a manga, I suddenly felt the urge to start writing stories (fanfiction) again. So all the chapters you see from this point on is because of that feeling, that urge to start writing again came back to me.

I would also like to point out, that all chapters, starting with this one, chapter one, is what I'll consider to be a "Prequel" to the "sequel" meaning everything from now until whenever I feel like it, is all but a flashback to events that happened before the "real story" begins for this fanfiction. A weird approach considering that this fanfiction is a sequel to "Maybe One Day", a very unconventional approach indeed!

A sequel where extensive background information on events and decisions leading up to the "real story" the sequel is supposed to tell. Think of it like Star Wars we're shown episodes 4, 5, and 6 first, while episodes 1, 2, and 3 provide that extensive background information on events and decisions that lead up to everything that happened in 4, 5, and 6. Think about it like that, very complicated I know, I also think that it'll be extremely hard to execute. However, it's something I actually wanted to try, and so Forever Yours is my attempt at it. Wish me luck!

A Week Later

Lacus stood in front of a tall mirror, dressed in a beautiful white wedding gown. Her hair was done up beautifully, her pink strands were held in place by a floral crown made from a collection of pink and white roses; Lacus looked absolutely stunning. The bride examined every little detail of herself marvelling at the little details the maids spent hours perfecting for Lacus' big day. Her once bright, and joyful blue eyes were dull and faded; they quivered with sadness, regret and sorrow. Lacus looked pale as she anxiously awaited this day to come.

[Flashback]

"She embraced him tightly "I'll wait for you"

"It'll be a long time" he replied

She buried her face deeper into his chest "It's okay, I just want to be with you"

"Come back to me"

"What do I do?" Lacus whispered to her friend whispered

The blonde hair girl sat on the edge of Lacus' bed "Figure out who you love first, how about that?"

"Why did this happen now? The wedding is so close, and I went and kissed Kira" Lacus whispered once more.

"Does your dad know?" Athrun asked

"No" she replied as Lacus began to cry once more.

"It's okay" Cagalli said reassuringly, she placed her hand on where Lacus' head might be and began stroking her head. The two friends let her weep for a little, allowing her to completely get rid of her worries.

"I love Kira, I love my best friend"

[End Flashback]

A single tear rolled down her cheek as a rush of emotions engulfed Lacus' consciousness.

"For someone on their wedding day, you don't look too happy" Cagalli replied as she walked into the bridal room.

Lacus turned and stared at her two friends, Cagalli and Athrun, who stood in the doorway of the room, dressed in formal attire "You look very pretty, Lacus" Athrun said.

Not being able to hold back her emotions, Lacus dropped to her knees as her hands frantically tried to wipe away the stream of tears that fell from her eyes.

"Hey now," Cagalli said, running over to Lacus "You're going to ruin your makeup".

Athrun handed Cagalli his handkerchief and Cagalli began helping Lacus wipe the tears away from her face; making sure not to smudge the makeup too much.

"I don't know what to do!" Lacus cried "I don't know what to do"

"Well, for starters, maybe you could stop crying. How about we start there?" Cagalli replied, trying to make light of the situation.

Lacus held her hands close to her chest as she cried harder "It hurts so much..."

"Now's not the time for indecision, Lacus" Cagalli whispered softly as she continued to wipe away the tears from her friend's already red and puffy cheeks.

"I-, I-, I can't do it"

"You canno-" Cagalli was interrupted by Lacus' father walking into the room. It was now time for the wedding to start, it was now time for him to walk his daughter down the aisle to her husband.

"Lacus what's wrong?" he cried out, he immediately closed the door behind him to prevent any further intrusions before running over to comfort his sobbing daughter. Leaning down beside her, he gently gestured Cagalli and Athrun to step away, which they obediently did.

"I'm sorry" she whispered, clinging onto her father for dear life.

"Hey now," Siegel said softly, stroking the back of Lacus' hair "Tell me what's wrong"

"Please don't hate me…" she replied burying her face into his chest "Please… Please.. Please"

"I have nothing but love for you, my dear, you know that" he replied pulling her closer to him.

"I-, I-, I can't get married father… I fell in love with Kira"

Siegel froze in place, processing the words that stumbled out of her daughter's mouth. Why now? Why not sooner? What made her change her mind? They spent many months planning for this very moment, what would now come of it? All he could do was let out a long drawn out sigh.

"I'm sorry… I'm sorry… I'm sorry" Lacus cried out. She knew all the planning that went into this, the many months, all the preparation. Everything.

"We do all this, we prepared everything, only to have you not want to go through with it all at the last minute?" Siegel asked frustratingly.

"Please don't hate me" she replied, not knowing what to do anymore, Lacus squeezed her father tighter.

Siegel having raised Lacus as an only father, he knew he couldn't stay mad at the person who he treasured the most. Lacus had always sacrificed for his sake and for the sake of their enterprise, even if it wasn't in the best interest for her. He always wanted her to grow up happy, always smiling, and always caring regardless of the circumstance. "Me committing to this arranged marriage? What was I thinking?" the father thought to himself.

"When did I start putting my own interests, my own ambitions, over the happiness of my own daughter?"

"I'm sorry" Siegel said, kissing the top of Lacus' head "I was wrong forcing this arrangement onto you without considering your own feelings. Please forgive me"

Finally being able to curb her own emotions, Lacus managed to stop her crying and was able to muster enough energy to nod.

"You'll have a lot of explaining to do in the coming days, my dear"

Lacus quietly nodded.

He leaned in towards his daughter and quietly said "You were always happiest when you were around Kira anyway, so although we now have to deal with this mess, I guess I can give you a *slight* free pass"

Cagalli elbowed Athrun lightly in the ribs "See happy ending!"

Athrun winced from the sudden hit "Happy ending for who?"

The sound of a sudden banging on the door, disturbed the already fragile atmosphere of the room. Athrun took out his phone, dialed a number and placed the phone to his ear "Who's at the door" he asked

"The groom" said the voice.

"Stop him from banging the door please"

"Yes sir" said the voice before hanging up.

Placing the phone back into his pocket he lifted his head up, only to have the eyes of Cagalli and Siegel staring back at him.

"Thank you Athrun"

"It pays dividends to have the Chief Representative and Rear Admiral as friend-"

"What's wrong? Why hasn't she come out yet!" yelled a man barging through the door, being held up by multiple Orb military personnel. Athrun and Cagalli immediately stepped in front of the man.

"Give me my bride, madam Chief Representative, Rear Admiral" demanded the man, he looked over and behind them only to see Siegel holding Lacus closely to him, Siegel in return looked back at him with fire in his eyes.

"Siegel!" he yelled "You made this arrangement, you must honor it!"

"I'm sorry but" Athrun grabbed him from the collar and forced him to the ground, he placed his knee on his head and knelt down "My friend isn't yours buddy, arranged marriages don't mean anything"

"Athrun enough" Siegel said firmly, kindly gesturing him to get off the man now held to the floor by the other military personnel.

"I'm sorry Derrick, but I think we're going to have to call off the wedding" he said firmly

"No! We're going through with the wedding" he yelled trying to free himself from the grips of the men and women who held him down.

"No, no we're not" Cagalli replied "And if you go anywhere near my friend from this day forward, if you do anything to harm her, you will be arrested"

Athrun turned his attention to the personnel holding Derrick down "Please break the news that this wedding is being called off to all the guests and please escort this man far away from here"

Nodding, the men and women in uniform, picked Derrick up from his limbs and began to forcefully usher him out of the building "You haven't heard the last of me!" he yelled, "I will make you honor the arrangement!"

"What have I done, marrying you to a loon" Siegel said in disbelief.

"Don't worry" Athrun said reassuringly "Leave it to me".
