Deacon arrived back home with a thousand things going through his mind. He looked over and saw Bridget outside watering flowers. Deacon walked over to the glass door and slid it open. He went over to Bridget and took the watering can from her hands. Bridget was startled as Deacon pulled her back inside and lead her to the bedroom. He shut the door behind them and began kissing her. Bridget, who normally did not mind one bit that Deacon would use sex to forget about whatever was bothering him, pulled back. "What is going on?" She asked. "You saw your father didn't you?"
Deacon was stunned. "How did you know he was in town?"
"He came to see me." replied Bridget.
"He did? Why didn't you tell me? And why didn't you tell him to get lost?"
"First of all, I knew you would get upset. Second I wasn't about to tell my father in law to "get lost". He seemed very sincere and so I called Gina to tell her about his visit."
Deacon sat down on the bed. "What did he tell you?" He asked.
"He said that he was sorry for everything he did and that we wanted to make things right."
Deacon scuffed. "He had years to make things right. He didn't..."
"It wasn't all his fault Deacon." Bridget said sitting down next to him. "Gina told me about how she kept his letters and cards from you. She admits that was wrong. Deacon I think you need to give your father a chance. He took a big step. He admitted he was wrong. He wants to be in your life. You have to at least try. Don't you want our child to know his or her grandfather?"
"Of course I was our SON." Deacon emphasized. "To know HIS grandfather."
Bridget smiled. They still did not know the sex of the baby but Deacon was still sticking to his belief it was a boy. "Then honey, talk to Mark. Give him a chance to at least explain."
Deacon sighed. "Fine. I'll talk to him."
"Good." said Bridget with relief. She started to get up when Deacon pulled her back. "I never said I was done wanting you." He said.
"I think you need to seek counseling for this sex addiction of yours." Bridget grinned.
"The counselor would hold me blameless once they saw you." He said laying her down on the bed. "They would say it wasn't my fault."
Bridget giggled as he began kissing her soft neck and moved down to her breasts. "You are too much."
Bridget sighed enjoying her husband's kisses on her body. Deacon began kissing her soft lips when the doorbell rang. He grunted. "I am not answering that." He said as he went back to kissing Bridget.
Bridget pushed him away and then got up from the bed. "Okay then I will." She said cheerfully as she left the bedroom. Deacon got up to follow her.
Bridget opened the door and found Mark standing there. "Hello again." She said.
"Hi Bridget. Is Deacon..."
"Yes he is here." She said holding the door open for him.
"Hello son." greeted Mark.
"Hello. Dad." replied Deacon.
"I'll leave you too to talk." Bridget managed to wriggle out of Deacon's reach when he tried to grab her arm to keep her from leaving. She went back outside to tend to her flowers.
"So what brings you here?" asked Deacon as he walked into the living room.
"I wanted to talk to you." said Mark. "I know I have a lot of explaining to do. I want you to know. You and your mother mean a lot to me. You always have. Yes I did leave your mother for Suzanna. I was stupid. She had me believing that I could do more and be more if I was with her. She wanted to change me into something I'm not. I loved living in Vegas. My job was great. Your mother...she was the best thing that came into my life. And I blew it. I blew it because someone tangled something shiner and brighter in front of me and I was too blinded to see that it wasn't what I really wanted. I left Suzanna two years later. Going back to Vegas and being with your mother again was the fist thing that came to my mind but I thought I had no right. I hurt her. I just up and left. Left a stupid note and that was it. She deserved better than that. And you..you are my son. I should not have left you. Yes I did try to send you letters and cards and presents...but that doesn't make up for not being in your life. I should have gone to see you. Yes things would have been rocky with your mother and I but that wasn't your problem. I just want you to know how sorry I am. And I hope that you would at least give me a chance to try to make up for what I've done. It can't be undone I know that but I want to be a part of your life. My grandchild's life. This kid deserves to have a normal family. As normal as we can make it. I don't want him or her to wonder about who their grandfather was and never know him."
"Look I don't want my son.."
"Son?" said a startled Mark. "It's a boy?"
"Well technically we don't know yet." said Deacon. "But I think it is. Anyway I don't want my kid to grow up with a screwed up family. I believe you when you say that you are sorry. And to know that you did at least try to contact me with letters and cards..it's something. I know that you cared enough to do that. It's a start. But what about Mom?"
"I love your mother." stated Mark. "Truth be told I would love nothing more than to marry her again. I don't know if she will have me and I can't say I blame her if she doesn't. But I'm going to try."
"Mom's pretty tough." said Deacon.
"I know she is. She's a tough lady and I love that about her. She still managed to raise a terrific kid despite what I've done. I'm proud of you and what you accomplished. Creating this incredible nightclub. Meeting a beautiful woman like Bridget.." He said gesturing towards her outside.
"It wasn't easy." said Deacon. "It look a lot of work to get Lucky Hearts off the ground but I had help from two great friends. Daisy and Brett. And as far as Bridget. I will be forever thankful for her coming into my life. I wasn't that lucky before."
Mark nodded. "Your mother told me about other two women. Said they hurt you."
"Jill and Diana." said Deacon. "They both used me for their own purposes. Didn't give a damn about me. Then I met beautiful Bridget and everything changed. I knew she loved me. It was for real. I love her more than anything. But Jill and Diana managed to come back into my life so to speak."
"What do you mean?"
"It's a long story but suffice to say that Bridget was friends with this guy named Jason who had a thing for her. She did not love him. She thought of him as a friend and nothing more. He became angry with her when she told him that she was going to marry me and have my baby. Jason came up with some stupid plot to break us up. He contacted Diana to go along with it. He tried to blackmail her but surprisingly enough, she didn't bite. She refused to have any part of it. In fact, she is the one who warned Bridget and me about it. Then Jason set it sights on Jill. Got her to go along with some insane plot to make Bridget leave me. Claim I abused her. Even had a phony police record made up. But Bridget didn't buy any of it. Anyway Jill was sleeping with Jason while all this was going on and became pregnant. This made Jason very angry. He tried to tell her to have an abortion but she refused. They got into a scuffle. He tried to kill her and she shot him."
"Wow." said Mark. "That's incredible."
"Jason's mother told us that he was a paranoid schizophrenic. She thought he had it under control but apparently not. She of course is upset her son was killed but she knows that Jill had no choice. I think she wants Jill to live with her in L.A. I don't know what became of Diana and I don't care."
"Well I think there's something to all this. Jill and Diana...yes two horrible bitches to say the least...hurt you but yet there was still some good left in them. You think maybe..."
"What? That I can see there is some good in you? Look I told you I know that you regret running out. I get that. I can't promise anything but I think we can at least..try. I would like to have a father in my life. I always did."
Mark smiled. "Thank you. That means the world to me."
"But as far as Mom goes...good luck."
Mark laughed. "I know but I can handle her. Trust me. I should get going. Maybe we can all get together for dinner sometime."
"That would be great. So what are you doing now that you are back in town?"
Mark shrugged. "I don't know. I thought about maybe getting another job as a manager at a casino."
"Well I was thinking...if you want...I really could use some more help at Lucky Hearts. With the baby on the way...I want to reduce the number of hours I spend there..."
"You want to hire me?"
"Actually I was thinking maybe you could be part owner."
"Part owner? Me?"
"You have a ton of experience and it would really help me out. What do you say?"
"I would love to. I'm just... are you sure?"
"I am."
"Thank you. You don't have to do this but thank you."
"I want to do this. And you are welcome. You can start tomorrow if you want."
Mark nodded. "I'll be there." He then walked over and hugged Deacon. He let go and turned to leave. Bridget walked back in and smiled. Deacon turned to her. "Don't you say anything. I know you were eavesdropping you little snoop."
"Who me?" Bridget said innocently.
"Yes YOU." said Deacon as he pulled his wife to him. "I love you."
"You are a wonderful person." said Bridget. "Having your father being part owner. It was a big step."
"I honestly don't think he is a bad guy." said Deacon. "He made a big mistake and he knows it. I have to give him that. And again he did care enough to try to contact me with letters. That does mean something."
"I love you." Bridget said placing a kiss on his lips.
Deacon scooped her up. Bridget giggled. "What are you doing?"
"I told you...I'm never said I was done wanting you." He carried her back into the bedroom and shut the door.

Mark got into his car and drove away. This was better than he thought. Deacon was willing to forgive him and make him part owner of the club. It was more than he thought he deserved considering what he had done but he was grateful. Just maybe he could have a good solid relationship with his son. Now as for Gina. He was uncertain about that. She was a tough lady and it would take a lot and he did mean A LOT to get her back however as far as Mark was concerned she was worth it. Having that beautiful sexy lady back in his arms was worth everything.

Gina sat in her hotel room sipping a glass of wine. She felt drained. It was a quite a day. Mark. Mark was back. And to top it off she was still so damned attracted to him. He was still the hottest guy she ever laid eyes on. She still felt that longing. And his cologne. God it was so sexy! Aside from that she had no idea if she really wanted to go down that road again. It was so painful when he left but he is back. He is back and he says he loves her. Truth be told for years she dreamed of him coming back and saying he loved her and never should have left. And now he does. And she had no idea what to do about it.
