I'm finally getting around to posting another part. I have so much more written now. -sigh-
. . .
He shrugged a bit and finished his food, standing up to get a second bowl. "No biggie, kid. People forget things." I finished my own bowl and pushed it away, playing with my fingers shyly.
"So..." Naruto's voice interrupted what I was about to say. "Speaking of liking people, is there anyone you're interested in so far?" He wiggled his eyebrows a bit. "And don't give me that bullshit where you say you don't like anyone, because I'll know if you're lying."
I blushed lightly and looked back down at my lap. Why? Why would he just ask something like that out of nowhere? "U-Uh.." I couldn't tell him he was the one I was interested in. He'd hate me and never want to talk to me. My hands shook a bit and I laughed, just saying the first name that same to mind. "G-Gaara seems pretty cool." I instantly regretted saying that. Gaara scared me to no end. His eyes reminded me of mint, except it was a bit more terrifying. Honestly, I don't want anything to do with him.
Naruto gave me a weird look. "Really? Gaara?" He laughed a bit. "I would have thought you would have said... I dunno, Kiba or something." He grabbed the bowls and put them in the sink to be washed later. "That's the usual response. Kiba may be a douche, but he's hot." I shrugged, once again regretting saying Gaara.
I suppose now would be the time to ask this. I had been wondering "Why don't people like Gaara as much?" It was an honest question. He wasn't that bad looking, and he had that bad boy look people seem to enjoy. "I mean, he seems like the type to be popular."
Naruto laughed a bit. "There was a nasty rumor that he got into some trouble at his old school. Some guys were picking on him in the hallway. He defended himself and accidentally put one guy in a coma." I stared at him with wide eyes. He put a guy in a coma...? That was... Terrifying. "The guy was okay, but people have been afraid of him ever since. With good reason, I suppose, but he doesn't deserve that. "We're actually really good friends."
As I went to reply to all that, there was a sharp knock on the door. I huffed and let out a sigh, shaking my head. "Stupid Itachi. I didn't think he'd be back from work so soon." We both stood and made our way to the door. I didn't think he would be coming so soon. Usually he wouldn't be home from work at the gym so soon. Naruto got to the door and opened it, revealing my brother with a frown on his face.
Itachi was a few inches taller than me and about an inch taller than Naruto. His hair was tied back in a loose ponytail that fell down his back. I suppose people like longer hair on men, since he's popular with any gender and any sexuality. He had two curious scars on his cheeks right under his eyes that we don't really know what they are. His skin was as pale as mine and his eyes and hair as dark, if not darker, than mine. He had a lean, yet muscular, body that I think is the reason people love him so much. Uchihas are known to be the most handsome of men, and Itachi lived up to the standard. He acted pretty cold and distant, which I thought to be another trait from the family. Itachi had only ever opened up to his current fiance, Kisame, and myself.
He looked Naruto up and down and clenched his jaw a bit. "Is my little brother here?" He looked around him and saw me, smiling a bit. "You forgot your inhaler." Did I forget to mention Itachi has a smile that breaks hearts every day? "Why don't you go get it? I left it in the car." He took a step forward, inviting himself in. "I'll just stay here and chat with.. Naruto, is it?" He held his hand out politely.
Naruto glanced at me, raising his eyebrows a bit before taking Itachi's hand and shaking. "Uh, yeah, it's Naruto." He laughed nervously. "Nice to meet you." They both looked at me and I blushed a bit, turning my attention to a small imperfection in the floor.
I excused myself and shuffled in between them. Itachi's protective nature was practically rolling off of him. I stepped onto the porch and realized it had snowed, the snow melting and slipping between my toes. I yelped and ran to the car, jumping into the passenger since and looking around for my inhaler. My asthma wasn't bad, but sometimes I had issues breathing and needed it. I huffed a bit and kept looking, finding it under the seat. "Stupid Itachi..." I said for the second time that night. I sighed and got out, running back inside and shivering from the cold.
. . .
I hate the way I end chapters. I always feel like I could write more. Oh well, an update is an update. This is the last bit of the other part I posted before, just finished.
I love getting reviews. So leave one please ^.^
