"Ellie the bat queen?" said rouge. "you're not even a bat, nor do you look like a queen!"

"I'm queen of the night zone." Said Ellie. "I followed you two in here, and I'm glad I did."

"alright, enough!" said shadow. He charged after Ellie but she jumped over him and tripped him.

"you two get out of here, I'll hold these guys off."

"you sure?" said tails looking concerned.

"as long as I'm here." Said sonic.

"great. You're here." Said rouge. "don't worry, I got you covered. Me and shadow have duked it out before."

"only this time you're not going to win." said shadow, jumping up and kicking sonic down. Tails and Nicole snuck out and ran down the hall with the chaos emeralds shadow dropped.

"there's a back-up generator. Follow me." said Nicole. Rouge flew behind them and Ellie followed with one of their flashlights, not trying to let the bat get them.

"why do we have to go thought this again?" said sonic, somewhat annoyed while trying to see shadow in the dark.

"because, why not give us some chaos emeralds? After all, it's not like you idiots are powerful enough!" shadow longed at sonic but missed.

"you're not getting your hands on them shadow."

"we just want some power to help defeat other enemies you idiots don't even bother to fight."

"if that's the case why not just join us?"

"because we play by our own rules, not yours." Shadow said lounging at sonic once again, this time hitting him. Shadow grabbed sonic and tossed him back.

"even today you're no match for me sonic..."

"that's what you think..." sonic said getting up.

Tails and Nicole had reached the room, Nicole was starting to static up a bit.

"you ok?" asked tails.

"yeah, don't worry about me, just press that button and we're good to go."

Tails quickly pressed it before rouge or shadow could interrupt him, the lights turned on, not all of them but enough to at least see around the place.

"Lights aren't going to help you sonic!" said shadow.

Rouge and Ellie where fighting their hearts out against each other.

"I'll give you credit, you're one tough cookie..."

"shame you're still no match for me..."

Ellie kicked rouge and pinned her down with her foot.

"if you're goanna talk the talk, at least walk the walk while you're at it..."

Shadow and sonic continued to fight. Both of them where equal. Amy and sally tried to join in the fight but they were tossed aside.

"come one come all, I'm not leaving till 2 chaos emeralds are in my hand."

"then you might be here for a while." Said sonic using his infamous spin attack on shadow. Shadow dodged it and then chaos controlled to where rouge was.

Rouge got tossed against the wall, shadow grabbed her and got to where Nicole and tails where.

"well, well, well..." said shadow. Tails and Nicole jumped back at shadow appearing. Tails grabbed Nicole and tried to escape but shadow used chaos control and furniture.

"now tails, let's be a good little fox and give you're old pal shadow the two chaos emeralds."

"no."

Shadow jumped and landed right in front of tails, causing him and Nicole to fall down.

"I'm sorry, I don't think I heard you correctly..."

"why do you want them anyway?"

"To take care of some business, I would tell you but you wouldn't believe me."

"Nicole, transport us ou-"

"not so fast tails..." said rouge. She was holding up nicole's hand held devise.

"one move and I drop this."

Tails knew good and well that if she did, Nicole would be nearly gone for good. Tails gave Nicole a sad look.

"I'm sorry Nicole..." he said tears building up in his eyes. "you win shadow." He put out the chaos emeralds.

"wise choice tails, wise choice." Said shadow, petting the fox on the head. He and rouge then left with the chaos emeralds in their hands. Just then, Ellie the bat and sonic busted in.

"what happen?" said sonic.

"they got the chaos emeralds..." said tails.

Nicole explained the whole situation and told tails it wasn't his fault while hugging the poor guy.

"thanks Nicole." Tails said.

"it's ok buddy I understand, as powerful as the chaos emeralds are I don't want you to be killed or seriously hurt over them. You two don't stand a chance against shadow..."

"I wish I arrived sooner to help." Said Ellie. "names Ellie the bat queen, I'm the queen of the dark zone. Long story short I saw the 2 while arriving here to meet you guys and followed them in. Sorry I didn't tell you sooner I was shy and worried I'd get caught by 'em."

"it's ok, shadow is a pretty powerful dude, and I don't know what he's doing with those chaos emeralds, but we better find him and stop him before he does something stupid. For now, let's just enjoy the rest of the eclipse."

"well, why not?" said Nicole. Sonic explained the news to the gang, with some mixed and shocked reactions, but they agreed to just watch the rest of the eclipse. Still, sally couldn't help but worry, and the same went to sonic.

Shadow, rouge, and E-123 Omega were all walking in the woods after a successful mission. Shadow was holding on tight to the chaos emeralds.
