Shadow and scourage were face to face in the forest zone.

"come on Shadow, do you really think you can beat me? better yet, do you really think you can get this from me?"

Scourage pulled up a tiny bracelet around his neck. The center of it was blue and glowing.

"you really think I'm going to give you back Maria's soul?"

Shadow lounged at Scourage, but he dodged it, he tried again but he kept dodging.

"shadow be careful!" said rouge.

"yeah shadow, you better lesson to your girlfriend..." scourage said. Shadow finally made contact with him right in his stomach.

Shadow then tossed scourage right into a tree.

"now give it to me!"

"you really think I'm going to give it up that easily?" scourage said looking up at shadow, holding his stomach."

Scourage did a spin dash at shadow but he dodged it. The spin-dash boomeranged back at shadow and knocked him down. Scourage stomped on shadow's head.

"Maria's soul is mine!"

Shadow tried getting up but Scourage stomped on him again.

"shadow!" rouge said. rouge threw the chaos emeralds at shadow but scourage caught them.

"god damn it rouge!" said shadow.

"bribing me with chaos emeralds huh? How charming, but that doesn't mean I'm going to stop beating the shit out of your boyfriend." He said.

Rouge tried to attack scourage but he grabbed her leg and tossed her into a tree.

"Rouge!" said shadow, getting up and kicking scourage, only to miss for him to punch him in the face.

"go get help..." shadow said.

"but shadow..."

"GO!" he shouted, punching scourage again, only for him to punch back.

"keep on hitting me life form, I'm the one who throws the more powerful punches around here!"

Back at freedom fighter HQ, sonic and the gang had the power back after shadow and rouge broke in.

"well, at least the powers back on..." said sally. "now all's we need to do is get the chaos emeralds back."

"hopefully, that will be somewhat easy. I swear sometimes I wish we could just hide those things away from everyone." Said sonic.

"tell me about it." said knuckles, who just walked in.

"hey knuckles!" sonic said.

"sorry I'm late, arrived as soon as I heard the news. That crazy bat, she better hope I don't run into her any time soon."

"yeah, or you just might kiss her." Sonic said teasing knuckles a bit.

Just then there was a knock on the door.

"I'll get it!" said tails.

He opened the door, and instantly tightened his fist. "you got to be kidding me..." he said. There standing at the door was rouge the bat.

rouge: oh hey tails, like my costume?

shadow: is this going to become a running gag or something?
