So it turns out that no one really gave a damn about the fact that White hasn't appeared in SY for a couple of chapters even though she is listed as a main character. Interesting. Perhaps my decision to have SY focus on Black and White was not the greatest idea. I'll keep that in mind for the future.
Oh, and given by the responses, the Platinum vs. Sapphire is… giving the wrong impression/idea. 1 in favor of Platinum, 1 in favor of Sapphire (for now), and everyone else is grabbing popcorn to watch. Well, grab entertainment wherever you can, folks. This rivalry/enmity is not meant to have humor. The Platinum vs. Sapphire rivalry in any of S-EARLY is not meant to have humor, unlike the Sapphire vs. Gold rivalry. But, since most of you already have the popcorn out, I'll make the fight worthwhile. If this works, I'll have more serious Dex Holder vs. Dex Holder fights.
As mentioned last chapter, Platinum's personality of SY is quite different than the rest of the stories. She will be more aggressive, but in a calm way. While S-EARL's Platinum may just walk away with a hurt expression, SY's Platinum will snap back, ice-cold and rational.
And for those who say that White's entire team should be fully evolved by this point, S-EARLY doesn't function that way. A Dex Holder's Pokémon will only evolve if it evolves in Pokémon Special. Seeing how White's Vullaby is still a Vullaby in BW2, where White is 16 years old (assumed, following Age Relations Edition V), I stand by my decision. If Vullaby didn't evolve during the 2 year gap between BW and BW2, then I see no reason for it to evolve in SY, which is set 4 years after BW (or 2 years after BW2) … Oh yeah, BW2 spoiler alert. White appears in Pokéstar Studios, with her Vullaby used to film that crappy Brycenman series, featuring Rakutsu and Faitsu… and a 60-foot robot. So I suppose it's fair to assume that any Pokémon that appears in Pokéstar films that matches White's roster would've come from the girl (and then some, I guess).
Chapter 6: Rescue Operation
Skyla's private/commercial jet/airliner, 10 pm…
There was some kind of awkwardness in the air. Some Dex Holders have taken a nap during the flight, so this awkwardness was caused by those sleeping Dex Holders waking up, but not knowing what to say. But at least it wasn't quiet.
Sapphire woke up from her nap and yawned. Now it was quiet. The Hoenn Dex Holder had been snoring quite loudly. And her yawn wasn't exactly subtle either. From across the aisle/central path, Platinum narrowed her eyes. She hadn't slept yet. She couldn't because Sapphire kept snoring loud as a thunderclap.
"Black, how were you able to sleep?" she asked. "I found it difficult due to the excess noise."
Sapphire narrowed her eyes. Oh, so this was how it was going to be, huh?
Black lightly shook his head to shake away the drowsiness. "I had a hell of a week so far. The fatigue is really building up."
"I suppose the rich and spoiled need absolute silence in order to sleep," Sapphire said sarcastically. "If so much as a leaf rustle, you'll have that tree torn down!"
Platinum pretended as if she didn't hear. She checked her Pokétch and took out her Pokégear. Even though Sapphire was still saying something and Black was asking something as well, the heiress ignored everything around her and called home.
"… How are they?" she asked, sounding a little desperate. She gasped and froze. "… Not recovering? But… … Oh, I see. That is still a relief. Thank you. I will hear from you in 12 hours."
The heiress hung up and let out a long sigh that almost sounded like a whimper at the end. She closed her eyes and clasped her hands together as she sincerely wished for her parents' recovery.
"What's her problem?" Sapphire asked. "Did someone die or something?"
Black quietly moved over and silently explained the situation at the Berlitz Mansion. Ruby put a hand over his face as he shook his head. Sapphire rubbed the back of her neck.
"Oh… Whoops. I didn't know…"
Platinum suddenly sniffled a little and rubbed her eyes. As Black went to calm her down, Ruby tapped Sapphire on the shoulder.
"Sapphire… Don't say things like that around her," he warned. "And don't mention anything like injuries or parents. They're very sensitive subjects to her."
"Yeah, I know. It was an accident, alright?"
Sapphire watched Platinum with a guilty expression. The heiress kept her head down as she kept wiping her eyes.
…
The plane landed in Opelucid City of Unova 2 hours later. Even though it was midnight, everyone could see what was happening. Black watched through the windows and saw Zekrom looking up at the plane.
"Evasive maneuvers!" Black yelled out as Zekrom's tail generator started to glow blue.
The plane slightly tilted to the left. A massive Thunderbolt just barely missed. There was a loud screech from outside and several giant shards of ice flew towards the plane.
"Deploy chaff pods!"
Ruby looked over at Black. "… What are you, a fighter jet pilot?"
Black rose to his feet. "Well, to be perfectly honest… no." He made his way over to the cockpit and shut the door behind him. And a second later, the plane did a barrel roll.
"Ow, damn it!" Sapphire yelled as she got back to her seat.
A static erupted from the speaker system. "Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. Please raise your trays to their upright positions and buckle your seatbelts. And when you are able, sign the contract stating that you will not sue us. You've been warned."
The Dex Holders strapped on their seatbelts. Platinum put on hers and once again, closed her eyes and clasped her hands together and continued wishing for her parents' recovery. That was all she cared about.
Ruby looked through the window and noticed that the Zekrom had stopped attacking at the plane. Instead, it proceeded to attack those that were attacking it. During the time the Unova Dragon was distracted, the plane quickly landed. Once the plane stopped moving, Sapphire ripped off her seatbelt and jumped up to her feet.
"Alright!" she yelled out as she looked at the other Dex Holders except Platinum. "You know the music! Time to dance! Pop the hatch and kick the door!"
Platinum calmly unbuckled her seatbelt and opened the entrance door of the plane. She briefly scanned the area before stepping off the plane. The midnight air wasn't as cool as she thought it would be. Maybe it was because so many buildings were on fire.
Black stepped off the plane when everyone else was off. Ruby turned to glare at Black.
"Don't do that ever again," he growled out.
"Do what? Encourage the pilots?" Black asked back. "I didn't tell them to do a barrel roll. I just told them to- DODGE!"
Black quickly pushed Ruby and both Dex Holders managed to avoid a thin stream of ice… encased around fire. The Unova Dex Holder stared at the attack before looking at the source.
"What the hell was that?" Sapphire asked.
"Was that ice wrapped around fire?" Ruby asked. "That would be PERFECT for my Contest!"
"Damn it, Ruby! Not now!" Sapphire yelled out.
Black blinked. "Ice wrapped around fire… Does that mean…"
In the distance, he spotted White commanding her two Pokémon in a battle against the gathered Gym Leaders and Elite Four members. One of her two Pokémon was a Zekrom. The other was…
"White Kyurem…"
"White using Zekrom and White Kyurem? Something about that seems… right for some reason," Curtis said as he brushed the dirt off of his pants.
"Miss President!" Black yelled out as loud as he could manage. Sapphire dropped to the ground with her hands pressed against her ears.
"Stop alerting everyone to your presence!" she yelled angrily. "And ow, damn it! Keep your voice down!"
Black sent out his Emboar and White's Serperior. Ruby sent out his Swampert and Milotic after brushing all the dirt off of his clothes. Sapphire sent out Blaziken and Aggron. Platinum sent out her Empoleon and Rapidash.
White turned to look at the other Dex Holders. "Well, well, well. Look who finally came!" she said, her voice sounding oddly cold. "I've been in this city for 12 hours now, waiting for you to come. How rude of you, making a girl wait this long!" She then pointed at Black. "Thunderbolt and Ice Beam!"
The Zekrom and White Kyurem focused on the other Unova Dex Holder and shot the attacks. The Dex Holders retaliated with an attack of their own to repel the two Legendaries' attacks.
"Miss President, I will rescue you!" Black yelled out.
White laughed. "Rescue me? You? Ha! Don't make me laugh!"
White's Serperior appeared very hesitant. Black clenched his teeth. "She's being mind controlled. Don't hesitate!"
White suddenly narrowed her eyes. "So you're going to rise up against me? Your former boss? How rude. Ice Burn!"
White Kyurem's tail generator powered up to maximum, shooting beams of instantly freezing fire all over the place. Once enough energy had been charged up, it shot a huge beam of ice swirling around a massive stream of fire, once again creating an instantly freezing Fire attack. Or instantly burning Ice attack.
"Blast Burn!" Sapphire yelled out.
"Hydro Cannon!" Ruby yelled directly afterwards.
The two ultimate attacks met the Ice Burn head on and triggered a huge explosion. When the smoke cleared, White could see that all the Dex Holders were still standing. She looked very surprised. So far, none of the Elite Four or Gym Leaders have been able to withstand Ice Burn, let alone actually neutralize the attack. Maybe this was because the Blast Burn melted the ice layer and Hydro Cannon hit the actual flames of the Ice Burn.
Sapphire glanced over at Platinum with a smug look. 'How's that, you spoiled rookie?'
The heiress rolled her eyes. 'Oh yes, senior. You must feel so proud, using a Fire type attack against an Ice type. And you did not even damage the enemy.'
"Bolt Strike and Ice Burn!"
"Flamethrower and Leaf Storm!" Black ordered.
"Flash Cannon!" Sapphire ordered her Aggron.
"Hydro Pump!" Ruby ordered his Milotic.
Platinum watched the attacks collide. Attacking only when the Legendary Dragons attacked was not going to accomplish much. The attacks collided together and created another explosion. Platinum gave the orders to her Pokémon now.
"Fire Blast and Blizzard!"
The Fire Blast hit White Kyurem through the dirt clouds and Blizzard hit both White Kyurem and Zekrom.
Platinum gave Sapphire a smug look. 'That is how you damage your opponents, senior. Wait for the opportune moment and fight smart.'
Sapphire clenched her teeth. 'Oh, I'm just getting started!'
White gritted her teeth. So this was going to be a little more difficult. "Fusion Flare, Fusion Bolt!" she ordered. "And Freeze Shock!"
Black froze. Fusion Flare and Freeze Shock? But there was no Black Kyurem…
The Fusion Flare attack came from above, which forced the Dex Holders to scatter. Ruby and Sapphire managed to disrupt Zekrom's Fusion Bolt by attacking it before it got ready. But the White Kyurem started to discharge electricity as it changed shape. Now it was Black Kyurem. But Zekrom was still standing beside it.
The Black Kyurem started to charge up power. Its tail generator glowed and discharged freezing electricity. It moved its hands close and created a giant ball of ice sparking with electricity.
Platinum ordered a Hydro Pump and Fire Blast just as the Black Kyurem tried to throw the Freeze Shock ball. The Hydro Pump created a hole in the surface of the ice ball and the Fire Blast triggered the detonation of the Freeze Shock.
The explosion forced the Black Kyurem to stagger backwards while it knocked White off of her feet. Ruby, Sapphire, and Platinum got their Pokémon to attack, since White was no longer giving commands. The Unova Gym Leaders and Elite Four regrouped and attacked from behind as well.
Black avoided the turmoil and ran straight for White. The girl was trying to push herself off the ground. Black crouched in front of her and tried to help her up. She glared at him angrily and tried to push him away. He grabbed onto her arms, however, stopping her efforts short.
"Miss President! Please fight the mind control!" Black yelled. "You have to fight! Break free!"
White let out a laugh. "Fight? Why should I fight? Do you know how invigorating it is to know that everyone else is utterly harmless to you? That everyone is powerless to stop you? To know that you're so much better than everyone else?"
Black shook White by the shoulders. "Miss President! Snap out of it!"
"And who are you to tell me what to do?" White yelled. She looked so angry, with her eyes narrowed. Because it was past midnight, Black couldn't tell if White's eyes were the beautiful sapphire blue, or the cold ruby red.
"Miss President… I love you…"
White laughed again. "Know your limits, Black. I never loved you. I only considered you as a business opportunity. An opportunity, might I add, that I couldn't cash in because there was nothing to cash in."
Black stared at White in shock. The girl had a cruel, cold smile on her lips. "So… what Curtis said…"
"Curtis? Curtis, Curtis… Ah, I remember him. Yes, we used to date." White smiled in an awfully evil way. "And he was much better looking than you. And a much better kisser."
"But… all these years… You said you loved me."
White smirked. "I only said that so people wouldn't try to go out with me. After I dumped Curtis, I wanted to wait for someone absolutely perfect. You're nowhere near perfect. But you served a role. And that was to keep the guys of Aspertia from trying to get me. You failed that role too, like an idiot. But I found the one perfect for me."
"You don't mean…"
"You may think he kidnapped me. But in truth, he rescued me. He saved me from you, you useless idiot. And I never felt happier. He treats me properly. Better than how you treat me. And you know what? He's more of a man than you'll ever be!"
Black let go of White. The girl kept laughing at him, and he couldn't take it. "Miss President…" he muttered, unable to believe what he heard.
"So what? Do you still think you're going to save me?"
Black stood up and took a step backwards. "… I made a promise, Miss President. I will save you. Even if it's from yourself." He sent out White's Solosis. "Unibo… Psychic."
The Solosis hesitated. But it could detect the anomaly within White. So it hit her with Psychic, but at a low power. White flinched a little, but she kept her glare at Black as she forced herself to rise to her feet.
"You… You dare attack me with my own worthless Pokémon?"
"Unibo, White needs to get back to her senses," Black said quietly. "I know it hurts you, but… increase power to the Psychic."
The Solosis reluctantly did as told. White started to groan in agony as she placed her hands on her temples. She dropped to her knees as the power of Psychic increased more and more.
"Agh… Black…" she gasped out. "… Stop! … Please… stop!"
Black closed his eyes so that he wouldn't see White writhing in pain. He couldn't bear hearing her either. "I'm sorry, Miss President."
White glared at him one last time and let out a short pained gasp before she passed out as her Solosis's Psychic reached max power. Black kept his eyes closed for a few seconds before he slowly opened them. He saw White lying face down on the ground, completely immobile.
Black knelt in front of her body and sadly put a hand on her shoulder. She was unconscious, but… at least he could rescue her now…
The Reshiram, Zekrom, and Kyurem stopped the battle with the Dex Holders and the gathered Gym Leaders and Elite Four. They saw White being carried away by Black and decided to return to their actual trainer. Holding White hostage was merely a distraction, anyways. And that purpose has been fulfilled.
After forcing everyone away with Blue Flare, Bolt Strike, and Ice Burn, the three Unova Dragons flew off towards the secret base of their trainer.
The Dex Holders regrouped and returned their Pokémon. They wanted to give chase so they could end this threat, but they didn't have enough firepower. All they did was distract the Legendary Dragons and hold them off long enough for Black to rescue White. They couldn't overcome them entirely. Not yet.
Ruby went over to Black, who was holding White's body in his arms with a crushed look. Upon spotting his senior approach, he looked up to meet his eyes.
"Well, Black. Looks like you managed to save your friend. But this isn't over."
Sapphire came closer and nodded. "We have to end this. Those three Dragons are going to return again, you know. Unless we can chase after them and beat them."
Curtis checked his notes. "But you were the only other Dex Holders that I know of," he said. "Well, there are other 3 Dex Holders from Sinnoh and Hoenn, but I don't know how we can reach them."
Ruby and Sapphire glanced at each other before looking at Black.
"Black, we're not the first Dex Holders," Sapphire said. "If anything, I thought I was one of the last three until I met you."
Ruby crossed his arms. "To stop this threat entirely, we'll need help from… the original Dex Holders. We haven't heard from them in years, but I know where we can find one. If we find one, we'll find the others."
Sapphire nodded. "I think it's time we go over to Johto."
White using Zekrom and White Kyurem. Of course it seems right. In Pokémon White Version, you get Zekrom, and in Pokémon White Version 2, you have access to White Kyurem! … Without trading, that is.
I'm pulling off the Movie 15 Kyurem Forme shifts. It was a stupid movie, but I find the idea of Kyurem going back and forth between Black and White Kyurem Formes without Reshiram or Zekrom was acceptable. If Reshiram, Zekrom, and Kyurem used to be the same being (remember, Kyurem is basically a Shedinja, Legendary edition), then it stands to reason that the discarded shell retains some abilities of the beings that split off from it. If that being returns to full power… Ah, but that's not for SY. It's for S-
And by the way, I decided to update the Age Relations once more. Edition VI. The only difference between V and VI is that… Rakutsu and Faitsu are added. Hence this was more of a decision and not a forced change caused by an error. The addition of the BW2 characters can only mean one thing. Expect to see them outside SE #040, but not in SA, or any story in which Black and White had the erroneous attire shifts. So no, they won't be in SY. But the Age Relations Edition V was used by SY, so its update is mentioned in SY, right now.
