SY… is supposed to focus on Black and White, yes. Hence they're the two main characters listed. However, as mentioned in the profile page, whenever the younger Dex Holders meet the older ones, the older and more experienced ones are bound to be much stronger and whatnot, therefore would receive more attention. For the younger Dex Holders to command attention, something HUGE has to happen. Sapphire vs. Platinum, for example. Or maybe even a sacrificial dive. Just sayin'. And Platinum has the "favoritism" thing going on since she's my favorite Dex Holder. But the above statement still applies, which is why Platinum stays in focus of most of S-EARLY at the cost of being horribly screwed over.
And yes, I've been trying to push White into the focus a bit… by screwing her over in a lot of stuff. But it hasn't exactly worked out, since not a whole lot of people seem to LIKE having White in focus. So she got screwed over for absolutely nothing. My bad. At least she hasn't died yet. Seriously, that's a good feat. Died in SA and SR, almost in SE, tried to in SL, but she's kind of okay in SY, at the cost of being shoved into the background. But she won't stay there for long.
Chapter 14: Meteor
Several hours later…
White gently knocked on the door to Red's house while carrying Platinum's bag in her hand. Red, who had been watching the recorded past of Green and Blue again, let her inside. He didn't pay much attention to her and resumed watching the television screen. White glanced at it and noticed that the currently playing segment was that of Blue's monstrous daughter practicing walking. Not a whole lot of progress, but quite impressive given the age.
White didn't focus on it too much and asked where Platinum was. Red pointed upstairs, so the Unova Dex Holder headed upstairs towards the bedroom.
She first knocked on the bedroom door, in case Platinum was asleep. Even if she was awake, White knew better than to barge in there. She had to be extra polite.
"Lady Platinum?" she called carefully. There was no response. So White slowly opened the door slightly and called again. Once again, no response. White assumed that her senior was asleep and quietly entered the room. She immediately spotted the heiress lying on her side while still only wearing Red's coat.
White slowly closed the door behind her and approached the bed. Platinum appeared to be in a bit of pain as she slept, as there was a frown on her face. White felt quite sympathetic for her senior. Being brutally beaten and severely humiliated in front of everyone by another senior was bound to be a horribly painful experience. Sapphire refused to explain her actions and only repeated that it was Platinum's fault for starting it.
The Unova Dex Holder figured that this was a task that she had to take. Platinum was more likely to talk to her than anyone else. She would be too embarrassed to talk with her seniors OR her juniors for that matter, but White had a feeling that the heiress wouldn't ignore her too much.
"Lady Platinum?" White called as she lightly shook her senior. The heiress remained asleep, so White tried again, but a little harder and louder.
Platinum stirred and slowly woke up. She took a few moments to gather her thoughts and groaned in discomfort as she pushed herself up.
"Take it easy," White said with a worried look. "… Are you doing okay?"
"I can manage," the heiress answered, purposely avoiding eye contact. Perhaps being humiliated in front of a junior was a lot worse than a senior.
White presented her senior's bag. "Here. I'm guessing that you have extra clothes in there."
"Thank you." Platinum quickly took her bag and opened it. She proceeded to dig through her bag so she could take out her spare clothes.
The Unova Dex Holder smiled and turned her back to her senior so that the heiress may wear her clothes in pseudo privacy. "We sent the scouts to Unova. But we can't contact them at all for some reason. Green and Blue are trying to find out why. And the guards you brought from your home have been sent to Professor Oak's lab in southern Pallet Town. Blue's house is too crowded for all of them to stay, so Green let them stay in the lab."
"I see," the heiress muttered as she took off Red's coat and put her own black sleeveless shirt on.
"Anyways, Green thinks it's best if we head towards Unova if we can't find the source of the signal problem," White continued. "There's no point in sending out scouts if those scouts can't tell us anything. Green said that he'll try to fix the problem for today but failing that, we'll take the jet first thing in the morning tomorrow to go to Unova. The jet would probably return later today."
"I wish you luck," Platinum said dismissively as she put her shorts on. "I will not be joining you in retaking Unova."
White quickly spun around. Her senior had finished dressing and was now straightening her sleeveless shirt.
"What do you mean?"
"I am not going with you," the heiress answered. She lightly winced from the pain from her ribs but quickly shook it away. "I will be heading towards the harbor city of Kanto and I shall be taking the ferry to Sinnoh."
"But… Lady Platinum, we need you," White said, caught off guard by her senior's abandonment. "You can't just… leave us."
"I apologize, but my mind is set," Platinum said, deliberately coldly. "There are currently 10 Dex Holders here, myself included. One missing would not have any impact on the outcome of the battle for Unova."
The heiress tried to walk past her junior. White quickly stepped in front of her again.
"But you're one of the best trainers out there. We… really need you!"
Platinum didn't respond and walked past her once again. White tried to grab her by the wrist, but the heiress pulled out of her grasp. The Unova Dex Holder had no choice but to follow her senior downstairs.
Red heard them coming and looked away from the television screen. Platinum lowered her head and tried her best to avoid eye contact with him.
"Red, help!" White said hastily. "Lady Platinum said she's going home!"
"What?"
The mercenary shut off the television and moved to block the door. Platinum stopped in front of him while looking away from his eyes.
"Senior, please let me through," she said quietly.
"Not until I hear your explanations as to why you're abandoning us."
"Please, Lady Platinum," White said as she grabbed her senior by her wrist. "Don't leave us."
Platinum pulled out of her junior's grasp again. "I cannot stay here any longer," she replied quietly. "I cannot contact my parents, so there is no way for me to know how they are doing. I must return home and check on them."
"And this has nothing to do with Sapphire beating you up?" Red asked. "I find that hard to believe."
Platinum's face reddened in embarrassment and she clenched her hands into fists. "… Do you honestly expect me to be able to fight alongside you when I have been so humiliated in front of everyone?"
"Lady Platinum, we all understand," White said. "And you know that none of us will think any differently of you. We all want to pretend that it never happened."
Red let out a sigh. "Platinum, do whatever you want. You're… what, 19 years old? What you do is your choice and yours alone. If you don't want to fight with us, then fine. Go about your business."
"What?" White muttered in shock.
Platinum bowed to her senior. "I wish you luck in the fight."
The heiress soon left her senior's house, leaving White stunned speechless. The Unova Dex Holder watched her Sinnoh senior disappear before confronting Red.
"Red! Wh – Why did you say that?"
"She's embarrassed to stay with us," Red answered. "If we force her to fight with us, she won't be able to focus. And if she's distracted in battle, terrible things can happen. It'll be too late to regret then."
"But… without her…"
"It'll be okay."
…
Platinum soon arrived at Prof. Oak's (now Green's) lab, where the Berlitz Mansion guards were told to stay. The moment the guards saw her approach, they all came out of the lab to greet her.
"Ah, my lady, a servant has come from Sinnoh and wishes to talk to you," one of the guards said.
Platinum nodded and quickly entered the lab. The two guards accompanied the heiress after taking a brief scan around the area.
Inside the main room, Platinum spotted an unfamiliar servant waiting for her. The heiress slightly frowned as she tried to recall when exactly this servant was hired. Despite her best efforts, she could not remember at all. … Did someone hire him while she was gone? … That seemed highly unlikely…
Regardless, Platinum sat on a chair in the center of the room and straightened her clothes. The servant kneeled in front of her.
"My lady, I bring you news from Sinnoh," he said politely.
The heiress leaned closer from her seat. "What news? Please tell me."
"I am afraid that your parents have… passed away."
Platinum's mouth opened in shock and she simply froze. Once the news really hit her, her vision immediately darkened and she fell backwards into her chair.
"Ah… mother… father…" she mumbled as she drifted towards unconsciousness.
The two guards nearby quickly approached her to see if they could help her in any way. Platinum was about to faint when a thought occurred.
'Wait… Something is not right… I talked to the maids back at home earlier today. My parents were just asleep. Even if they… … passed, the servant sent to inform me would not have arrived already. And I did not tell anyone in Sinnoh of my exact whereabouts.' With the realization, her consciousness steadily returned. She tried to focus on the servant through her blurred vision. 'And it is extremely unlikely that a brand new servant would be sent to tell me…'
Even though the heiress was rapidly recovering from her near-faint status, apparently she still looked as if she was about to pass out anyways, as the guards were looking panicked. One ran out so that he may get a cup of water for her, leaving the other guard to tend to her for now.
Platinum blinked several times to clear her blurring vision. The servant that told her of her parents' passing had risen to his feet and had his hands behind him. The heiress struggled to lift her arms to point at him.
"… Grab… grab him…" she managed to say, barely audible.
The lone guard froze. "I beg your pardon?"
"Grab him," Platinum repeated as she pointed at the servant.
The "servant" charged forward and shoved the guard away as hard as he could manage. He then took out something that he kept behind him: a knife with an extending blade. He then lunged towards Platinum in an attempt to kill her.
The heiress quickly pinched the oncoming blade between her palms and shifted the trajectory just slightly so that the blade would not stab her. The force of the lunge pushed her and her chair backwards, with the assassin on top of her. The knife cut the girl's palms a little, but was harmless otherwise and stabbed into the floor due to shifted trajectory. The assassin quickly released the knife and proceeded to physically strangle the girl. Platinum quickly tried to protect herself, and succeeded partially. She prevented one of the assassin's hands from reaching her, but the other reached her throat and proceeded to choke the life out of her.
But within a second, the guard in the room had recovered from the push and tackled the assassin off of the heiress. Platinum rolled away and took a few seconds to recover. Hearing the commotion, the other guard quickly returned, having abandoned the cup of water. He helped Platinum get up to her feet and moved her to safety before joining his fellow guard in attacking the assassin. Before long, the assassin had his arms and legs tied up by the two guards and was forced to kneel in front of Platinum. The heiress regained composure and sat down on her chair after resetting it on the floor.
"Who are you, and why did you try to kill me?" she asked the assassin. The assassin didn't say anything. Platinum narrowed her eyes. She wasn't in the mood for this kind of thing. And she wouldn't forgive anyone who tried to use her parents' conditions against her in any sort of way. "Very well then." She looked at one of the guards. "Bring me two long, thick wooden sticks, and the heaviest rock your Pokémon can carry."
The guard winced as he knew what was coming next. But he complied and returned a few minutes later with the required objects. The guards set up the "interrogation". The assassin now had the wooden sticks crossed under his legs, such that one stick went from between his thigh and calf of one leg and below the shin of the other, and the same from the opposite side with the other stick. That way, simply kneeling was a very painful process, as it caused the two sticks to act like very blunt scissors to his calves. The Berlitz Mansion's guard had his Machoke out, which was carrying a large, heavy rock.
Platinum glared at the assassin. "I will ask again. Who are you, and why did you try to kill me?"
The assassin still didn't say anything and just had his eyes clenched from the pain coming from his legs. Platinum signaled the guard to continue. The guard's Machoke set the huge heavy rock on top of the assassin's knees, and held it there to prevent the rock from rolling off.
The assassin started to scream as his leg bones were crushed under the weight of the rock. He still refused to answer Platinum's questions. The heiress looked at the other guard.
"Send out your Fire type Pokémon. And get an iron rod."
The guard did as told and sent out his Growlithe. He was about to take out a long nail from a portable toolbox (the only piece of iron that wasn't Green's property in the lab) when a loud crack echoed throughout the room.
The assassin stopped screaming and blacked out as his leg bones had shattered. Platinum ordered the guards to dump a bucket of cold water on the assassin to wake him up.
"Answer me. Who are you?" Platinum demanded once the assassin woke up. "Answer me before the guards stick burning nails into your feet."
"… I was… sent here… from Unova… with my team… to kill… as many of you… Dex Holders as possible," the assassin muttered as he wavered between consciousnesses.
Platinum frowned. "How many of you are there including yourself?"
"… 7…"
"Anything else?"
"Signal jammer… on one of my teammates…"
Platinum rose to her feet. "Take care of him," she said to the guards. "Afterwards, find the other Dex Holders and make sure nothing happens to them."
The heiress rushed out of the lab and headed towards Red's house. Her ribs hurt when she ran, but she had to hurry.
She reached Red's house within a few minutes and quickly opened the door. The television was on, and the recording was paused as Red had gone to wash his hands in preparation for lunch. Platinum quickly ran towards the kitchen. White was currently preparing lunch for herself and Red, and was completely unaware of the assassin slowly creeping up behind her with a knife in hand.
"White! Get down!" Platinum yelled hastily.
The Unova Dex Holder perked up and immediately saw the faint reflection of the assassin off of the windows. She quickly dropped to the ground, barely in time to avoid being stabbed. Platinum quickly shoved the assassin forward and grabbed White by her hand. Before the assassin could recuperate, the heiress pulled her junior away from harm. The assassin pulled his knife out of the kitchen sink and continued to attack.
"Red! Help!" White shouted as she was dragged out of the assassin's reach.
The assassin lunged again. Platinum yanked her junior backwards and pushed herself into the enemy, forcing him to lose balance for a little while. The assassin shifted his target and aimed at Platinum. White interfered now, by smashing a plate into his face. The two girls alternated in distracting and attacking the assassin until Red arrived.
The mercenary grabbed his two juniors and pulled them backwards and out of harm. He then waited for the assassin to strike first. He grabbed the knife arm of the assassin when he came close and twisted and thrust the arm so that the bones broke and the assassin was forced to stab himself. Red then pulled out the knife and stabbed the assassin in both arms and both legs, rendering him harmless.
Platinum checked her junior and was relieved to know that she was perfectly fine. She then checked her senior as well, and of course, he was perfectly fine too.
"We must hurry," she said to them. "There should be 5 more. I have sent my two guards to protect the others, but we must warn them and capture all of the assassins."
"Where did they come from?" White asked, still a little shocked from her first ever assassination experience.
"They have come from Unova, so we can assume who sent them," Platinum replied. "Now, White, go find Black and warn him. Be on alert. Senior Red, I believe you should find seniors Green and Blue. They are your closest friends, and I feel that you would prefer saving them first."
"Right."
The three Dex Holders quickly scattered. White ran as fast as she could towards Green's house, where Black would be staying. He was probably outside in the yard, either daydreaming or training. If he was daydreaming, he was an easy target for assassination. If he was training… he'd still be an easy target since he'd be very distracted.
As expected, when she ran around the corner of Green's house, White spotted Black staring into the distance with a blank look with an assassin slowly creeping up to him from behind. White tripled her pace so that she could save her ex-boyfriend in time. Black heard her coming and looked over at her, just as she jumped forward and tackled him out of the way of the oncoming blade.
"Miss President! What are you…"
"Black, run!"
White pulled Black closer to her and practically on top of her so that he could dodge the next attack. Now that he could see what was happening, Black understood his predicament. He quickly got off of White (who couldn't breathe thanks to him) and pulled her away from harm. Since he was detected, the assassin changed his approach. He charged at the two Unova Dex Holders, forcing them to jump backwards to avoid being stabbed.
Just then, the patrolling Berlitz Mansion guard arrived on scene to help out. Black and White backed away and watched as the guard tackled the assassin from a safe distance.
"Go!" the guard yelled. "I will handle him. Go to the others."
Black and White did as told, but as they found out, no Dex Holders were really in danger. Red, Green, and Blue were never really in any danger, as they were more than capable of taking care of themselves. Gold and Crystal were okay as well, thanks to the early heads up from the other Berlitz Mansion guard. Sapphire detected the assassins before anyone else could alert her so she managed to fight them off with Ruby before Platinum arrived to alert them.
All the Dex Holders gathered in the yard of Blue's house, where Sapphire and Platinum were confronting each other once more.
"I came here to alert you and perhaps assist you from these assassins," Platinum said through clenched teeth.
"What, did you think I'd need help with these guys?" Sapphire growled out. "Do you think you really damaged me during our fight? Because you didn't!"
Sapphire rubbed her bandaged right arm, which Platinum had targeted repeatedly during their fight.
Platinum inhaled sharply to prepare for her retort but winced at the pain from her ribs, which Sapphire had targeted repeatedly. She maintained her ice cold glare, and Sapphire had her fiery glare.
"Alright, enough!" Red yelled as he stepped between Sapphire and Platinum. "Both of you!" He glared at both girls, forcing them to back down and drop their glares. "I don't know what your problem is with each other, but this stops here and now!" He first focused on Platinum. "Platinum, Sapphire's been through a lot. A lot more than you. And while she may not match your ideas of an ideal Dex Holder, she's still your senior and is much stronger than you. Show some respect."
The heiress let out a sigh and lowered her head. She steadily recalled how she treated her senior and thought about what Red just said. Red left her at that and focused on Sapphire now.
"Sapphire, you're 6 years older than Platinum. Act like it. You're 25 now, right? Stop acting like 10. Even if Platinum doesn't show you enough respect, you should still treat her properly and fulfill your duties as a senior. If you did, Platinum would've started to respect you and fulfill her duties as a junior. But instead, you reacted wrongly to her initial views of you, and look what happened."
Sapphire sighed as well and thought about how she treated Platinum. Ruby approached her and put a hand on her shoulder.
"You did overreact quite a bit."
Sapphire looked over at him and nodded. "I know… But I was just… angry."
"I don't care if you two don't like each other. But at least respect each other," Red said, lightening his expression. "We're on the same side, and look what you two were doing."
Platinum let out a short sigh again and raised her head. "Yes, senior. You are correct." She approached Sapphire and after another sigh to suck up her pride, she slowly bowed to her senior formally and politely. "Senior Sapphire, I am terribly sorry for how I have been acting, and for what I have said to you. Please forgive me."
Sapphire returned the bow and extended a hand. "I'm sorry for what I did to you and for all that I said."
Platinum shook her senior's hand and forced a smile. Sapphire forced a smile as well.
"… That's a start, I suppose," Crystal muttered. Both Sapphire and Platinum didn't sound entirely sincere in their apologies, and they both had hints of anger and hatred in their expressions and tones. But they were forcing down their feelings and were forcing themselves to cooperate.
Blue cleared her throat. "It's a good start. But I want you two to start focusing on the good things about each other. And Platinum, I think I'm speaking for everyone here when I say this: I'd rather pretend that what happened to you yesterday did not happen. Let's just all forget that happened and work towards rebuilding friendship. Okay?"
Sapphire and Platinum nodded and glanced at each other once more. But they remained silent. This would probably take some time.
"Now that the personal problems are dealt with, let's get back to focus," Green said. "One of the assassins carried a signal jammer as you said, Platinum. We disabled it, and we're now able to communicate once more. Now, I will be calling someone to deal with the 7 assassins, and to make sure our house is not infiltrated by their allies for a few days. The moment the jet returns from Unova, we're taking it. There is no point in waiting for the scouting details when the enemy already knows of our presence. So Platinum, call your parents to make sure they're okay, and if you still want to, you can go back home."
Platinum faced her senior. "… I will be calling home, but… I think I will fight alongside you in Unova. Unless my parents' conditions have worsened, I will not return home without accomplishing something." She suddenly looked very… pale. "… Please excuse me. I must call my parents at once. The assassin… told me that my parents have… … passed…"
With a quick bow, the heiress ran back into the house so that she could have a private call with home. White followed her so that she may comfort her. She tried her best to stay quiet so that she wouldn't interrupt her senior's call.
She spotted Platinum sitting on the couch, looking extremely nervous as she waited for someone to pick up the call.
"Hello? Oh, hello, Diamond," Platinum said quickly. "… Yes, I am okay. There were some… trouble with the phone signals. How are they? My parents. How are they?" The heiress froze as she listened to her boyfriend on the other side. She suddenly looked extremely relieved and… happy. "They are? Rapid recovery… Oh, thank you! Thank you!"
White smiled in relief as she listened to Platinum repeatedly thank Diamond for the good news.
"… Yes… a little," the heiress said as she started to sob. "Sorry… I am just so relieved…" White quietly got her a box of tissues. Platinum silently thanked her and wiped her eyes. "May I talk to them? … Resting? Oh, okay. I will talk to them later. Thank you so much, Diamond. … Yes, it is so nice to hear your voice too. I really miss you… … No, I will be okay. Though I wish you were with me, I think it would be better if you and Pearl stayed with my parents and make sure they are okay. I will call you frequently. … Okay. I will see you soon. I love you."
The moment the call ended, Platinum started to cry again. White sat beside her on the couch, with the box of tissues in hand. The heiress soon calmed down, as she suppressed her emotions. She didn't want to cry for an extended amount of time in front of her junior.
"I'm so happy for you, Lady Platinum," White said with a bright smile. "You must be so relieved."
Platinum nodded as she wiped away the last of her tears. "Yes, I am… I wish to see my parents as soon as possible, but I will still complete my duties first."
"Thank you. I really appreciate your help," White said.
Platinum let out a long sigh. "… Thank you for your company."
…
Few hours later…
…
All 10 Dex Holders were on board the private jet, heading towards Unova for the battle against the enemy. The scouting hell raiser orphans have reported that Reshiram, Zekrom, and Kyurem were spotted flying around Lacunosa Town, but in a defensive stance, as if they were protecting something extremely valuable going on in the city. Whatever that was, couldn't be good for the Dex Holders.
Platinum looked away from the windows and scanned all the other Dex Holders. Blue was talking to Green about some household stuff while holding hands. Well, they were a married couple…
Crystal was writing down more midterm questions for her classes and discussed them with Gold, who just nodded with a blank look.
"I don't know if my students can answer this kind of question easily. How much weight should this question have?"
"… I agree."
Sapphire kept rubbing her injured arm while flexing her hand. Ruby held an ice pack over her arm so that he could help her heal a bit faster. They looked rather… happy next to each other.
Even Black and White, who recently broke up, looked quite happy to sit next to each other. Platinum watched them all rather enviously, suddenly feeling rather lonely. Well, she did insist Diamond in staying in Sinnoh, so…
Red suddenly came into view. He was still staring through the windows with a blank look. Sure, the heiress felt lonely, but probably not as much as him.
Crystal looked up from her notebook and glanced over at Platinum. Seeing her lonely expression, she decided to call her over. "Hey, Platinum, come over for a second."
The heiress quickly moved to sit behind her two Johto seniors. "Yes?"
"Here. Take a look," Crystal said as she gave her junior the notebook. From the side, Gold let out a sigh of relief. He was starting to get a headache…
"… Senior, why are you writing down a 2D vector function?"
"Just thinking of potential midterm questions. What do you think? Too easy?"
Platinum observed the equation. "This is a simple circle."
"Yeah. The x and y components are simple sine and cosine, so it'll be a circle. I'm thinking of asking the students to rotate the figure around an axis and find the volume."
"It will be a perfect sphere, since the coefficients are identical. I believe it is too easy for a midterm question."
"You're probably right. I guess I'll make this a warm up. Worth 3 marks out of 120. The next one would have the same function, but with completely different coefficients. Or maybe an ellipse. Work 7 marks."
Sapphire interfered from the side. "Would you two stop with the nerd times? My head is starting to hurt from just overhearing."
Crystal laughed and Platinum smiled. "Sorry, Sapphire," Crystal said. "But it is my job. Speaking of which… what do you plan on doing?"
"I was thinking of law enforcement," Sapphire replied. "But this sissy doesn't want me doing that."
"I just think it might be a bit dangerous," Ruby said.
"… So I think I'll do that," Sapphire said. "Screw what he thinks."
"You'll be a great cop," Blue said. "You do have really good intuition and instincts. Not to mention your physical condition. You'll be great."
"Such a wide variety of jobs in our group," White commented. "A mercenary, researcher slash Gym Leader, variety show MC, day care manager, university professor, fashion stylist, police officer, and the president of two companies. Only Black and Lady Platinum don't have unique jobs. Black sort of works for me, and Lady Platinum is a part time research assistant. Not that she'll need a job."
"It helps to have friends in a wide variety of jobs," Blue said. "It's for the better. If Sapphire really becomes a cop, we'll have a merc and a cop in our group. We'll be perfectly fine from both legal and illegal troubles. Assuming those two don't clash."
"Oh, I'll just look the other way if Red's involved," Sapphire said.
"You haven't even started and already you're corrupted," Gold said with a laugh.
"It's not corruption. He's just out of my jurisdiction! Since he'll be in Kanto and I'm in Hoenn." Sapphire grinned. "Maybe I should move to Johto. Knowing you, you probably do quite a few… rule-bending acts."
"… I'll be good."
…
Lacunosa Town, Unova, 5 am…
…
The Dex Holders left the jet and looked up at the sky. In the pre-sunrise sky, Reshiram, Zekrom, and Kyurem were barely visible. But they were there, circling around. They seemed to have spotted the jet landing, as they were rapidly approaching.
"Alright, we have incoming," Red said. "This is what we're paid for… I mean…"
"Like I said, Red. You're a merc. You can't hide that," Green said as he slowly shook his head.
"Well, you know the music! Time to dance!" Gold yelled with his Pokéballs in hand.
The Reshiram, Zekrom, and Kyurem suddenly looked up at the sky. The Dex Holders were about to attack when they noticed the distractions of the Legendary Dragons. Sapphire squinted so she could perhaps see what the Dragons were seeing.
"What do you see?" Ruby asked.
"… Something's coming," Sapphire muttered. "… A meteor?"
"Meteor?"
The Reshiram, Zekrom, and Kyurem suddenly launched a trio of Dragon Pulse at the incoming meteor. Surprisingly, the meteor suddenly altered its trajectory to dodge the attacks.
"What the…"
The "meteor" came closer and closer, but stopped at a certain point. Because it wasn't moving through the atmosphere, it wasn't burning. Instead, it appeared like a large… blue… oval-like figure. It was huge, though. Even at the distance it was at, it appeared larger than a full moon.
Something was shot out of the "meteor". It burned up as it was shot through the atmosphere, but headed straight towards Reshiram, Zekrom, and Kyurem. The 3 Dragons quickly dodged. The new meteor now headed towards the Dex Holders.
"Everyone, move it!" Green quickly ordered. He grabbed Blue by her wrist and quickly ran to safety. The other Dex Holders hastily followed.
The meteor narrowly missed the private jet, but the blast created by the impact flipped it over anyways. The blast wasn't as big as it was supposed to be, as if the energy created was suppressed or absorbed by something.
An odd bluish green light started to emit from the impact site. The 3 Unova Dragons roared/screeched at it in anger. The light grew stronger and stronger until it suddenly blinked away.
Sapphire looked at the impact site and saw something purple float out of the site. It was surrounded in bluish energy, as it something was using Psychic on it. The purple object started to glow and some odd energy matter started to form all around it. Within a few seconds, the forming matter solidified and became perfectly visible. The purple core was now surrounded by a red body. A pointed head, 4 extremely long and sharp tentacles, and two long and pointy legs…
"… Is that…" Sapphire muttered in shock.
"… Deoxys," Red said, also quite surprised. "In Attack Forme."
The large "meteor" from the shot hundreds of tiny meteors, bombarding the Lacunosa area. From each of those tiny meteorites, a Deoxys Attack Forme appeared, all looking rather hostile (hence Attack Forme). 3 of the Deoxys appeared near the Dex Holders.
Platinum stared at the one that was the closest to her. It hovered closer to her, stopping half a meter in front of her. The heiress blinked. The Deoxys seemingly vibrated as it tried to communicate in binaries. Platinum was about to say something when the DNA Pokémon suddenly lashed out against her with its sharp tentacles. Sapphire quickly grabbed the heiress and yanked her backwards and out of the attack range.
All the Deoxys spoke in binaries and started to attack whichever target was near. The Unova Dragons, or the Dex Holders.
"Another fight against Deoxys," Blue muttered as she quickly sent out her Pokémon.
"A worthy battle," Green said. "Though difficult."
"Bring it on!" Red yelled. "Time to even the score!"
Because I didn't really feel like working on anything recently, SY's planned end date is rapidly approaching (April 29). So the final battle would end up crammed into one chapter, which won't exactly be a problem since SY's finale isn't as massive in scale as SA's (which I managed to cram into two chapters). And SY itself hasn't exactly gone long enough to deserve an epilogue-chapter. Meaning, SY's total chapter count would be 15, and it shall be updated for the last time on April 29.
And time to explain why exactly SY's story image is a meteor. That image is from Movie 12. It's the giant meteor that Arceus destroys with… Protect, of all things in its arsenal. A friend (DX 2401PT from Serebii Forums) and I were talking about that. And how all Deoxys in the anime came from their crystals embedded in meteorites. So, during that discussion, we just thought "what if all meteors are actually Deoxys shock trooper pods?" which resulted in the conclusion that "a HUGE meteor would be like a Deoxys capital ship with tons of drop pods shooting out". And so, when I made SY, I wanted the final battle to be revolving around Deoxys because I knew that SA's final battle wouldn't focus on it too much and thus there would be no redundancy. So, a Deoxys invasion plot would require a huge number of Deoxys "pods", or a capital ship. A Deoxys Carrier, if you will. Thus Movie 12's massive meteor was chosen to be the story image.
Next up: SY finale. 10 Dex Holders vs. horde of Deoxys vs. Reshiram, Zekrom, and Kyurem. But is there a boss among the Deoxys?
The Deoxys horde may seem like they're out of the blue, but they're not. Their sudden appearance to be explained next chapter.
