Skye quietly walked into the living room, and saw that Jaden had flipped over, his blanket had fallen off, and his laptop was threatening to fall off.
Skye grabbed the laptop and put it on the coffee table, then nudged Jaden.
"Jay? It's 1. You wanted me to wake you."
"Oh, Right." A lazy Jaden sat up while rubbing his eyes.
"How's the finding a manager thing?
"Ok. I got like 3 interviews."
"Guess everyone wants to help the king of games."
"Heh, yeah. Oh how was your da-ate?"
"Do we need a repeat of last night? Because your knight in gloomy armor is not showing up anytime soon."
"Yeah ok, but seriously, How did it go?"
"Good. I think we're gonna scare off Chazz's brothers."
"Can I help?"
"Yeah. I don't see why not."
"How is she?"
Skye paused. And realized that this boy had not even talked to Alexis yet, and it was all because he wanted her to catch up with her. "She's good. Misses the gang."
"Makes sense. So what do you wanna do?"
"Well… uh… do you really think I like her?"
"I know you like her."
"Do you think… nevermind." Skye started to walk away.
"That she likes you back?" Jaden stood up and started walking beside her.
"Maybe."
"She might."
Skye rolled her eyes, knowing that her crush was probably useless.
"Skye. Skye, look at me." Skye stared at her friend "Alexis cares about you and she would never want to see you get hurt. You know that."
"Yeah, yeah. That's the same shit I told Chazz when he liked Alexis."
"And it helped."
"What? What did it help?"
"He moved on."
"But, I don't want to move on." Skye leaned against a wall a slumped to the ground.
"You really like her, don't you." Jaden sat next to her.
"Maybe. Shut up, you like her." Skye closed her eyes and leaned her head back. "I'm sorry Jay."
"For what?"
"I know you've been… Well not exactly avoiding her, but you've been giving me some space so I can get some alone time with her. And how do I respond? I try and kill you."
"I haven't…"
"You said that you saw us talking at the grocery store. And you didn't take the chance to hang out with us today."
"Oh come on. I was looking for managers."
"Jaden. Just admit that you're a good person and accept my guilt."
"Good people don't try to kill their frie…"
"Nope. Zip. That section of our lives never happened."
"Skye, it did happen."
"Well, whether it happened or not…" Skye looked over to see Jaden hang his head down. "Jaden. You are a good person. A good person who fucked up. Trust me. Even after that, your karma levels are still good."
"Really?"
"Well, yeah. You saved your friends. Countless times. So what if you endangered them once?"
"That once could have really hurt them."
"Well, it didn't. And everything's ok now."
Jaden shrugged his shoulders.
"Come on Jay." Skye stood up and reached her hand too pull him up.
"Where are we going?" He heistantly grabbed her hand, while she yanked him up.
"We're gonna break into the dueling arena and help Alexis practise for her duel."
"And by that you mean…"
"We're gonna reunite you two."
"Sounds fun."
