What's going on everybody? Last chapter revolved around Fate and Angel beginning to get along, Fate catching a Trubbish, and CJ getting an egg from the Daycare Center. And if you couldn't tell from the title given at the end of the last chapter, Owen will be battling Lenora for his second gym badge! Things will get heated, so get ready for Chapter 9!

Also, I know I changed up the chapter a little bit, but that's because I wanted Owen to meet his second rival. But he will be challenging the Nacrene gym next chapter!

Owen's team

Snivy, (f), level 10, Tackle, Leer, Absorb, Vine Whip

Pidove, (f), level 14, Tackle, Growl, Gust

Blitzle, (m), level 10, Quick Attack, Shock Wave

"Nacrene City, the place where I'll get my second gym badge," Owen said to himself as he, CJ, and Fate entered the city's Pokemon Center. Nacrene had a bit of a rustic feel because of the museum, train tracks, and the architecture of the houses. "And today, we're going to get our second gym badge!" Owen screamed in the middle of the Pokemon Center, causing all of the other trainers to stare at him.

"Normally, I'd tell you to slow it down and enjoy all of the sights in Unova, but my contest is in two weeks, and I want you to hurry up so I can get to Castelia!" Fate squealed. CJ and his two starters looked at Owen and Fate before shaking their heads at their child-like manners. "Wait a second... did either of you see the gym when we first got here?" Fate asked Owen and CJ. The two shook their heads, causing Fate to sigh. "Great. Now we have to look for your gym battle so then you could challenge the leader and possibly win a badge."

"Don't worry, Fate. I've got this gym battle in the bag, there's nothing that can stop me!"

...

"Seriously? The gym is closed?" Owen remarked angrily as the trio walked back outside the museum. "Stupid construction and artifacts," he muttered dejectedly.

"Well I think it'll work in your favor. You are kind of rushing through this league so far. I think you've only practiced with your Pokemon two times," CJ told the younger boy.

"Agreed. Even though I want to get to Castelia, I think it's good that you have to wait until tomorrow to challenge the gym," Fate added, causing Owen to cover his head in his hands angrily.

"I hate this. I just want to win that second badge so then I can go to the next city and win my third," Owen muttered under his breath quietly enough so that Fate and CJ couldn't hear him. "Alright, I guess I'll go off and train. Snivy, let's make sure we work hard enough so that we can win on our first try!" Owen exclaimed before running off to the west side of the city.

After what seemed to be half an hour of running, Owen eventually stopped when he reached a forest. He then let out a deep breath before throwing the two other Pokeballs on his Pokebelt.

"Come on out!" Blitzle and Pidove both appeared and smiled at their trainer and Snivy before Owen cleared his throat and spoke up. "Alright, everyone. We're going to train a lot today so that we can win our second gym battle tomorrow. Are you ready?" Owen asked.

Pidove and Blitzle nodded excitedly while Snivy halfheartedly pumped her fist in the air, which her two teammates seemed to notice.

"Okay, let's try finding a trainer to battle."

"Sigilyph, do it one more time!" a voice yelled from behind a series of trees. Interested by the tone of the voice, Owen motioned for his Pokemon to follow him as he made his way through the trees and was inside the forest. A man in a bright yellow uniform was standing in the middle of the road with a Sigilyph that was trying to attack a strange blue Pokemon that looked to be wearing a robe. The man turned and saw Owen watching with his three Pokemon, causing him to jump in surprise. As soon as that happened, the blue Pokemon kicked the Sigilyph, sending it flying into the man, who was knocked down by the force.

Owen pulled out his Pokedex and scanned the tall blue Pokemon, which was staring right at him.

"Sawk, the Karate Pokemon. Sawk have the most rigorous training routine known to man so that they can become more powerful. Current level: 23. Moves known: Brick Break, Bulk Up, Blaze Kick, Mega Punch."

"That's a strong Pokemon," Owen said to himself before drawing a Pokeball from his belt.

"Back off, kid. This is Team Solar territory!" the man with a fainted Sigilyph yelled. Owen looked at him with a quizzical face, causing the man to hang his head in shame. "You've obviously never heard of us. We are Unova's worst nightmare, and will stop at nothing to reach our ultimate goal!"

"I doubt that," Owen replied before preparing to attack the wild Sawk.

"Throh, come out and show this kid what he's dealing with!" Before Owen could react, a large red Pokemon was standing in front of him. It wore a robe like Sawk's, and it appeared to have a similar face.

"Sawk, we're starting this with Brick Break!" Owen shouted. Sawk nodded and dashed towards Throh while his two fists were glowing bright white. The blue karate Pokemon then struck Throh powerfully. The bulky red Pokemon stumbled back slightly before recovering and punching its left fist into its open palm.

"Throh, use Focus Punch!" Throh trudged over towards Sawk slowly before its fist was covered in burning purple energy.

"Sawk, dodge it and use Bulk Up!" Owen ordered. Sawk jumped in the air before performing a backflip. He then began to flex all of his muscles before a red energy appeared and then faded along with Sawk's enlarged muscles. "Now use Mega Punch!" Sawk's fist began to be covered in white light before punching the enemy Throh in the face, causing the bulky fighting type to roll back towards the member of Team Solar.

"Throh, get up!"

"Sawk, let's finish this with Blaze Kick!" Owen roared. Sawk's leg instantly caught fire, and he began sprinting towards Throh. He then leaped in the air before swinging his foot and it collided with the side of Throh's head, knocking the fighting type out instantly.

"Throh, get back here!" the man yelled. "You're lucky I didn't have my stronger Pokemon," the member of Team Solar spat. "I have a feeling I'll be seeing a lot more of you." Before Owen could do anything, the man snapped his fingers and disappeared along with his fainted Pokemon.

"That was... weird," Owen concurred while looking at his three Pokemon, who all nodded in agreement. Then, Owen began walking back towards the Pokemon Center, having had enough training for the day.

"Sawk!" the blue fighting type grunted loudly, drawing Owen's attention. The wild Pokemon then bowed respectfully before walking to Owen's side with a solemn look.

"I totally forgot to thank you for the help, Sawk. You're a really strong Pokemon." Sawk bowed thankfully before pointing to one of the Pokeballs on Owen's Pokebelt and then back at himself. "Wow, really!? I'd be happy to have you join the team. Go, Pokeball!" Owen shouted before throwing a Pokeball at Sawk. The Pokeball wiggled three times before clicking and releasing small stars.

"Sni!/Dove!/Blitz!" all of Owen's Pokemon cheered as he picked up the Pokeball on the ground.

"Sawk, come on out!" Sawk appeared from the Pokeball and appeared with his arms crossed. "Sawk, meet your teammates; Snivy, Pidove, and Blitzle." Sawk waved at all three Pokemon before crossing his arms and keeping a very serious look on his face. The other three Pokemon seemed a bit thrown off by the new personality of their teammate, who didn't seem like the kind to joke around.

"Alright, everyone, let's go win our second gym battle!"

After a few weeks of stalling and putting off writing this chapter, I finally decided to sit down and knock this thing out in one shot. Now, Owen added an incredibly, powerful Pokemon in Sawk, who is guaranteed to be the powerhouse of his team for the foreseeable future. Next chapter, Owen will be taking on Lenora for his second gym badge of the Unova region, and expect a little more background on Blitzle. Till next time, peace out.
