Authors notes: Been a while since I have gone at it. I wish I could say it was because life got in the way but it was more like I just didn't know how to transition to what happened in this chapter. I still don't know if I did it right. But now this story is transitioning from pure adventure to more comedy oriented adventure. So for the second time. Meet Jerry's team
Chapter 6: A whole new person?
I appeared in very small room with nothing but sliding glass doors covering the wall in front of me. I took a step forward and the doors opened to reveal... an exact replica of a Pokemon center. There was even a nurse Joy sitting behind the counter. She glanced up at me and a bunch of emotions flashed across her face before she sighed and smiled at me. Behind me Cole appeared on the pad I had not noticed and stepped into the center. He also smiled to Nurse Joy and strode in while saying. "Hello Nurse Joy. This is Jerry the friend I have told you about."
Nurse Joy looked back at me and said "Oh my dear how is your head feeling. I hope you and that poor Gardevoir didn't fair to poorly in that stuffy jail all by yourself."
"My head is fine" But I was more worried about the rest of my team. "How is my Ampharos doing?"
"He made a full recovery about four days ago. And the rest of your Pokemon are doing fine also. They have moved to the training ground and are getting their exercise right now." Nurse Joy said as she pulled out a sheet of paper that had just been printed out. "They are in training block D. Would you like me to call them in or would you like their Pokeballs so you can go get them?" Hmm I did want to see them as fast as possible. But I also wanted to surprise them... I guess I will go to them.
"I want to go see them. Can I have their Pokeballs?"
"Sure Just hold on one second." She turned around and pressed a few buttons on a machine and six Pokeballs appeared. She grabbed them and turned back to me. "Here you go. By the way how is that lovely Gardevoir of yours doing?" Gardevoir? Holy shit I left Lilly unconscious in prison. I started to panic and grabbed Cole.
"I left Lilly in that prison. We have to go get her. What if she she is hurt or what if one of the scientists found her?"
Nurse Joy stopped me and said in her cool voice, "Calm down I will loan you a Haunter and he will take you there to pick up Lilly." She said as she reached under the counter and pulled out an ultra ball. She released the Haunter and told it, "Would you kindly take this boy to Prison cell P2 to get his Pokemon and then take him to training block D"
The Haunter appeared and heard what she said. It then saluted her, grabbed my arm and dragged me towards the nearest wall. I looked to Cole and Nurse Joy as I was nearing the wall. Nurse Joy smiled and waved to me, while Cole said something that was too garbled to hear because the Haunter had turned intangible stealing my senses before I could hear him. I would have complained about feeling numb I wasn't so worried about poor Lilly. She worked herself to exhaustion trying to help me and I repaid her by leaving her in a cell. To be fair I blame whoever decided a cell was a better place to keep a mental patient than hospital or Pokemon center. I wonder if Cole had said something to them that made them think I was dangerous. Or maybe Lilly just refused to let them move me. Enough thinking I have to make sure she is alright... The Haunter carried me up a floor and threw several walls. He appeared to avoid some rooms that were in the way by going all the way around their walls. I figured they had something important going on and It would be bad for business to have a ghost drag someone threw the middle of their meeting. I smiled at the thought. And really being completely numb wasn't so bad anymore. Its easy to even forget that I had arms or leg without the constant feeling.
Finally we arrived at Lilly's cell and I spared no time looking over her to make sure she had no injuries... I don't know how she would be hurt but you never know right. Then recalled her into her Pokeball and the Haunter grabbed be and pulled me down two floors and started going threw what I assumed to be the training rooms. They were too massive to ever fit into this building so I assumed some form of psychic bullshit or I was underground. They appeared to be divided to support multiple environments by the force-field shaped like a Plus dividing the whole thing into four sections. Two were water sections one was grassland and the other was a rock covered desert. The two water sections were across from each other and I wondered why they didn't touch. These thoughts were stopped by a familiar presence entering my head, "Uhg I was beginning to wonder if you were ever going to recall me."
"What Lilly? How are you even conscious?"
"Well I forced myself to wake up."
"You need your rest go back to sleep, or whatever you do in a Pokeball,"
"No need, between my guardian energy and the Pokeball I am probably recovering faster than a sleeping Pokemon while still maintaining contact with you. Besides this is important. Jerry... I am sorry I messed up your head, I just was a little too panicked about the bomb to remember my training, and the bomb even turned out to be somehow non lethal."
"Lilly I am fine. Nothing is wrong with my head. I haven't changed at all."
"But I am not finished. I was unable to remove all of my memories from your head. To prevent you from losing years of your education I couldn't erase anything you already knew. So you got my understanding of some things that you knew a little about along with a second set of memories for all the events we shared. There is no way to know if your personality has changed other than just observing how you act to situations but It is still very likely that it has effected you is some ways."
"Lilly I am me no mater what I learn from you, besides I don't think you have it in you to ever hurt me even if you tried."
I could feel her beaming at my statement of complete trust but to be honest it was true Lilly would die to save me if it came down to it. Of course I would never allow it, but it was nice knowing I had someone I could always trust, even if... even if I joined a criminal organization and helped them destroy the word. Lilly laughed at that though
"You do know you are not to far from that, according to the grunts they are planing some kind of destroy the world and make a better one maneuver. Its straight out of one of Kingy's movies. Anyway forget about them. You do realize you now speak Pokemon right."
"What?"
"Well I didn't know how much you understood of our language so I couldn't delete it, so I just left my complete understanding. Your brain probably translates it to English without you even needing to think about it. If you would like I can not let it slip till after you have had a bit of fun. Honestly I can't wait to see the look on Loki's face when he thinks I am reading his mind."
"Um that's not so bad, I guess. But Lilly are you sure you are healthy enough to be pranking my whole team yet?"
"Oh come on a little prank never hurt anyone. In fact it may even help them."
"Yea then name a time where one of your pranks helped anyone."
"Well convincing you to get angry was a prank,"
"How was that a prank, I almost died?"
"Pshhh Azelf wouldn't kill anyone she goes out of her way to help anyone she can and is a frequent source of new psychic discoveries. Anyway Azelf's little willpower still ability is very easy to negate since she spread how to the entire psychic community. She never intended to harm you or Cole, she just wanted to end the fight and try to convince you to leave. Of course she also thought all the psychic Pokemon were unconscious, which was technically true since I didn't have enough psychic energy left to be detected unless she was looking for me. I think she was more focused on the Mismagius at the time."
"Um what does all that have to do with a prank"
"Oh darn I got sidetracked again. Anyway I just wanted you to get angry to jump-start my recovery. You know feeding off emotions works better when you are strongly displaying them."
"I am still not sure that counts as a prank but I guess it might have been... funny at the time."
"Oh relax we are almost there, Oh you may want to start thinking of a way to convince Kingy not to burn the whole place to the ground because from what I am picking up, he is actually going to try soon."
As she finished that statement we went threw one more wall and came out on the water side of one of the training rooms. This one was clear all the way to the bottom. "I cast Lightning Bolt" said a voice I wasn't quite familiar with. I glanced over to the grassland side just in time to see Amphy use a massive thunder attack on Kingy. He closed his eyes and shuddered as it hit him, sparks freely traveling across his skin and wings. And everything was ringing as the sound nearly deafened everyone in the room, even me who had all sound muffled as the Haunter carried me over to him.
The sparks finally subsided and Kingy opened his eyes again and roared. I was slightly worried he would try to eat Amphy for a second before he started talking too "Excellent. That one hurt a lot more. Five more of those and I would be rendered unconscious. Just a few more days of practice and we should be powerful enough to destroy this nest of vile scum and free our trainer." I was confused for a second before I realized they couldn't see me weird ghost form.
Then Loki appeared out of nowhere and walked about five steps before doing an over exaggerated jester of being exhausted before turning back to Kingy and saying, "Whew those laps really get to you around four hundred and ninety, Anyway five hundred laps now can I go do something I don't know not boring."
Kingy stared at him for a second with one of those why do I have to deal with this look before speaking again, "Why yes you can go do whatever you would like, that is if you had actually finished the laps. All you did was abuse your teleport ability to go to the kitchen and chow by the way your stomach looks." Loki gave one of those you caught me looks while he put a paw on his stomach and said,
"But if I try to run now I will get cramps. You wouldn't want me to miss a whole day of training because I pulled a muscle would you?"
Kingy was clearly confused while he thought about this for a moment before he said, "No. I would never ask a teammate to hurt themselves. Rest till you feel you can safely run then start off easy." I was pretty sure there was a confuse attack used here but I didn't see the eery ball of light. Burst surfaced on the opposite body of water from the one I was at, and chipped in,
"Why would you pass up on learning new ways to murder things." I noticed he had a life-sized Spheal toy in his mouth and he was happily munching down on it. It made squeaky noises. Audible sigh.
"When you have plus seventy speech why wouldn't you use it." Amphy spoke back up as he was running to thunder punch Kingy. Kingy reared up on his hind legs and his front ones caught on fire. Blue fire. They collided while Kingy still confused asked,
"Speech, no one is giving a speech. Why would you bring that up." He asked as he thought about it giving little attention to Amphy who was trying his best to get him to budge with little success.
"Its a reference to a few games Amphy tried to get me to play at one time." Said Apollo as he flew down from who knows where. Kingy must have been loosing it by this point as he gently pushed Amphy back and turned to face him.
"We have no time for games. We must prepare for the cleansing of this building. Does anyone have any amendments to add to the plan."
Amphy fell on his butt and crossed his arms with a pout. "How come you never go all out?"
Kingy, relived to be back on a subject that he understood, said, "I put in as much as you did and then some. Anymore and you could have been hurt."
"Yea but you didn't go all out. Just once it would be nice to see what you can really do without holding back. Besides if you don't train your muscles you will lose them." He said as he did a little flex
"Amphy I have been wishing my muscles gone for a long time. But even with me using them as little as possible they still continue to get stronger. Do you feel like it is a fair fight knowing that I put so little force into that block that I use less just to walk. No. If I ever let loose again someone I care about may be hurt. I don't know what I would do if one of you were to be hurt." Kingy reached his front paw toward Amphy and he grabbed it. Then Kingy hauled Amphy to his feet.
Apollo snorted at this and gave his opinion on this. "I think you are a dragon and you should act like one. Where has your blood-lust and never-ending search for a stronger opponent." Apollo finally landed beside the two and all the grass around him instantly light on fire and burned into nothing. Leaving an ever-growing circle of charged ground around him.
Kingy debated this for a bit before saying "My fellow dragon. There is no stronger opponent. I was able to take on full grown Salamence while I was still a Bagon. And when I became a Shelgon nothing short of Rayquaza himself even gave me a challenge. Now that I have let my body degrade to less than halve its potential I finally feel like I am not beating upon weaker opponents all the time."
He glanced at it before sighing and lowering his body temperature. "The secret to how Charizard can fly with such small wingspans is that they raise their temperature to become light as air." Lilly said to me as we finally reached the land and the Haunter dropped me unceremoniously and flew off. I crouched down and tried to sneak up on them so I could surprise them all the more but before I could take my first step Loki was suddenly on my head.
"Bout time that good for nothing ghost got here. I was dying of anticipation the whole time waiting for you and that doll you always keep near you."
"Doll?" What was he talking about?
"He means me. For some reason he calls me weird things like doll or babe. I don't really understand but I keep trying to tell him my name is Lilly and he doesn't seem to listen." I spent some times of thinking of movies where they used those terms so Lilly could get a good grasp of what it meant before turning to Loki and pretended I didn't hear what he had said.
"Loki. Did you miss me?"
"If by miss than you mean living the life of luxury because I can teleport freely to any room I want and no one is the wiser then yes I missed you a lot. But I am glad that I don't have to deal with that dragon anymore. He must have a few screws loose if you know what I mean." It took all my willpower to continue pretending I couldn't understand him and make a little shush motion as I crept closer to Kingy and Amphy who were now swimming laps with Burst, who would swim around the whole thing in a couple of seconds and then stop to chew on his Squeak toy as he let the others catch up. Loki smiled at me before teleporting off my head and appearing on top of Burst, who took a snap at him before he realized it was Loki. Then Loki pointed to me and made a shush motion. Burst debated it for a while before making a huge toothy grin that would scare some people into a coma before moving to the front of Kingy and Amphy. He also called over Apollo who had left and was punching rocks to little pieces. He was probably frustrated that Kingy didn't agree with him about the way dragons should act. He crushed one more rock before flying over to see what the two dark types wanted.
Loki spoke up I neared the bank, "I think we should have a vote to decide on a new leader for the time being,"
Kingy wasn't very happy about this and questioned, "You didn't object to me managing earlier. Have I done something wrong?"
Loki smiled enjoying his ploy. "Well it's not that I don't think you are a good leader, It's just that I think someone is better qualified for this."
Kingy stopped being grumpy and started being confused again. "Who do you think is better for this that you didn't think was good enough a few days ago?"
Even Loki had an end to how far he was willing to go for a joke and he decided it was time to let everyone in on it. "Well Turn around and see for yourself." They all made one of those 'this better not be one of those made you look moments' before turning around and I waved to them. Their reactions were all different.
Kingy jumped out of the water and flew to me slowly like in a trance, Apollo looked back at Loki like he hadn't even acknowledged I was there, and Amphy released a discharge before swimming over to me as fast as he could. Loki managed to teleport to me before he got electrocuted but poor Burst was deep-fried. I felt a little bad for him since he just got to see me and was already unconscious but Amphy wouldn't have any of it he was running at me spewing a bunch of Ohmygodohmygodohmygods and I thought I would never see you again and a few others that were too hard to read with him crying like that. I spent some time with the group getting them to 'Tell' Lilly all about what had happened before I finally had to recall them and go the meeting.
After thoughts: OK so I was a little brief with the ending but COME ON this chapter took like four months and now that I have actually wrote it, It wasn't so bad. I guess I just get paranoid. Anyway I tried to make all the participants revel their true personality as much as possible. Hopefully there is one character in the bunch you like ;) anyway Yay progress.
Thoughts for the next chapter: There is a big fight on the way. Thats all I can say.
