What's going on, ladies and gents? Welcome back to another chapter of Pokemon Unova Adventure, which I fell asleep writing (again). Last chapter, Owen managed to win the S.S Anne Tournament, and he's now headed back to Castelia City! Sadly, his gym battle will be next chapter, but this chapter will give a look into the future. specifically Kalos and the crazy crap that'll go on there, and Team Solar will reappear. Before we get started with the chapter, I have decided to I will answer/respond to reviews that don't just answer the question(s) for the previous chapter. And btw, I wasn't totally sure about who to have battle next chapter, so I wanted your input :)

Dragonreborn66 (guest): Thanks! I'm glad you like the story, and Snivy will be getting a lot more development and battles soon ;)

tepigsfire758: Thanks for the compliment! Would you mind sending me a PM with the mistakes?

"We only have about twenty more minutes until we reach Castelia City," CJ told Owen and Fate while looking at a holographic map being displayed by his Pokedex. Wotter stared at the map and tried touching it, but his stubby arm went right through it. The water type jumped back in fear before shouting at the Pokedex in Poke-speak.

"Yes! I can finally get my third badge!" Owen screamed. Surprisingly, no one by the pool at the front of the boat paid any attention to the loud boy. Snivy pumped her fist energetically, which Owen noticed. Ever since she won her first battle, Snivy was a lot more excited when she heard about the battles.

"Then we can leave for Nimbasa City and I can win my first ribbon!" Fate squealed while clapping. Angel and Hez both nodded in excitement alongside their trainer before the group of trainers and their Pokemon finally quieted down. The two boys and girl looked out at the water the cruise ship was speeding over late in the night before CJ spoke up.

"It says the Castelia City gym leader specializes in bug types." Owen threw his arms up victoriously after hearing the news, but Snivy shuddered at the announcement. Being a grass type, she despised bug types. Partially because they were creepy, but also because she was weak against them.

"It's a good thing you have a lot of options to choose from. Heatmor and Tranquill are really strong against bug types, so they're two obvious choices," Fate said to Owen, who didn't seem to agree with Fate, given the look on his face.

"I don't know. Heatmor's been in a lot of battles lately, so I think he'll sit this one out," Owen said, much to Fate and CJ's surprise. "And I think I have to train with Blitzle a little more before he's in another gym battle," Owen added. Even though the two Pokemon he mentioned were two of the stronger creatures, Owen still had confidence in the other four. Tranquill had asserted herself as the second strongest member of the team, and she was almost guaranteed to battle. Puff and Prinplup both showed him they were more than capable of matching up against tough opponents, and Snivy had been on a roll since the start if the tournament.

"That's a good idea. I don't think it'd hurt to have the others get some more battle time," Fate opined while leaning back in her chair and petting Angel on the head. The fire type appeared to enjoy the attention her trainer was giving her, which made Fate glad. She and the Tepig had a way better relationship now than they did just a mere month ago.

"Exactly. No matter who's out there, we're gonna win!"

"Do you have the supplies?" a young woman in a yellow suit asked another. The two twenty-something year olds were creeping around in the Castelia City sewers, where only gang members and bums hung out. The two women received lustful looks from several strange men, which disgusted both women.

"Of course. If I didn't, the boss would kill me," the second woman, a blonde, responded seriously. After walking down a series of broken down stairs and standing by the water, the first women, a brunette, pulled a strange package out of the backpack slung over her shoulder. After ripping the plastic off the device, the brunette threw the rubbery item into the water. It inflated instantly and took on the form of a raft.

"Let's go," she told her blonde counterpart while hopping into the raft. The blonde followed after, carrying a tiny bag of her own. It looked more like a drawstring, and it was so light that it could've been blown away by a slight breeze. After taking a few turns in silence, the two women in yellow reached a concrete square that was isolated from the rest of the walkways in the sewers. The two women's faces displayed sly smirks as they hopped off the raft and made their way up the broken down concrete stairs. After walking around a square wall, the two women in yellow arrived at a small opening. They managed to squeeze through the exterior before arriving at their destination.

"Here it is," the blonde stated while looking at an enormous red machine. "The source of Castelia's electricity. Let's get this done fast," the blonde told the brunette while placing the drawstring bag on the ground. The brown haired woman nodded before bending down to open the bag. One Pokeball fell out of it, causing the two women to deadpan.

"He made us carry this all the way here, and it only has one fricking Pokeball!?" the blonde screamed while stomping on the ground like a child.

"It has to be a really strong Pokemon, so let's let it out." The brunette picked up the Pokeball and tossed it at the generator. A large Pokemon appeared along with a rancid odor, causing the nameless women to plug their noses. The strange Pokemon looked at the women, who pointed at the generator, so he made his way over to the machine before covering it with his droopy body. The Pokemon then began to strike the machine powerfully, scaring the women off.

"Come on! We have to get out of here ASAP!" the blonde shouted. The brunette nodded after pressing the white button on the strange Pokemon's Pokeball, releasing it from captivity. The two adults then bolted back to their raft and drifted into the darkness of the sewers, leaving the strange Pokemon by themselves. The released Pokemon continued hitting the generator until sparks started to fly out of the machine. The flashing green lights located on the generator suddenly shot off, and the Pokemon let out a deafening roar.

"Look! There's Castelia City!" Owen shouted while running to the very front of the S.S Anne. Fate and CJ rolled their eyes at a Owen's antics before following after him. The three trainers looked out at the beautifully lit city, basking in its glory. The majority of the lights were either white or yellow, both of which were blinding. There was one enormous building in the middle that had red, white, and blue lights on three different sections at the very top, and it looked like it changed colors frequently.

"Wow. The city looks beautiful," CJ said aloud while Leaf, Wotter, and Excalibur stared in amazement.

"This would be really romantic if I was on a date," Fate said louder than normal, drawing a confused look from Owen while CJ continued to gaze at the world's biggest city. Fate face palmed at the oblivious older boy before sighing in disappointment.

"I think I could stare at this forever," Owen said to his two friends, both of whom nodded. Then, the lights disappeared and the city turned into a dark void. "What the hell?" Owen muttered while looking at Snivy, who looked just as confused as her trainer.

"What do you mean we can't dock?" a familiar voice shouted. Owen, CJ, and Fate turned to see Rebecca screaming at the captain of the ship while slamming her foot against the ground to show her displeasure.

"I'm sorry, miss Rebecca, but I can't do anything about it. The generator in the sewers completely shut down," the old, but in shape man replied. The girl turned her back to the man while crossing her arms and pouting while the captain walked away to make the announcement to the ship.

"Rebecca?" Owen asked while walking towards the girl he had defeated in the first round of the tournament.

"What?" the girl snapped. Once she saw Owen, she froze up embarrassedly before apologizing. "Sorry. Owen, right?" she asked, clearly not remembering the teen's name.

Owen nodded.

"I'm guessing you heard that we're not docking," Rebecca assumed, which made Owen nod again. "Apparently we're going to be out here for at least three days," Rebecca informed the group of traveling trainers.

"No! We need to get to Nimbasa next week for my contest!" Fate shrieked in rage. Angel and Hez looked just as irritated as their trainer, causing the three other kids to sweat drop nervously. "And Owen has to have his gym battle here," the girl added, though her tone made it seem like she didn't care.

"Wait, you have a gym battle tomorrow?" Rebecca asked Owen.

"Well, I didn't book it, but I planned on challenging the gym leader tomorrow," Owen replied while Snivy nodded. A mischievous look flashed in Rebecca's eyes as she began to look around, almost as if she was searching for someone.

"No need to worry. I know the guy that owns this thing, and there's an emergency speedboat by the rear of the ship," Rebecca whispered after huddling the other three trainers together. The traveling group looked around at one another before nodding at Rebecca. "Alright, just follow me."

000

After making their way across the ship, the four kids arrived at the back of the ship. Rebecca leaned over the railing before signaling that she saw the speedboat. Owen, Fate, and CJ all made their way to the younger girl before gasping when she jumped over the rail. They all leaned over the railing to see Rebecca sitting in the driver's seat of the speedboat, prompting Owen to start laughing to himself.

"This is awesome!" he shouted before jumping over the railing. Fate and CJ watched as Owen completely missed the boat and smacked against the water painfully, causing everyone to grimace. Despite his epic fail, Owen swam over to the boat and hopped into the front passenger seat next to Rebecca, and he began waving to Fate and CJ to jump.

"I don't know if I can do this," Fate stammered while CJ was preparing to jump.

"Come on, you can do it," he insisted. The girl shook her head and began to step away from the railing, drawing the attention of a group of men all wearing black suits and sunglasses despite the sun being down.

"There's no way I'm jumping. I just watched Owen miss the damn boat!" Fate shouted. CJ turned to talk to the girl, and saw the group of scattered men start walking towards them at a fast pace.

"Fate, you have to trust me," he told the girl while extending his hand. He didn't want to tell Fate the consequences of her not jumping, so he tried a different tactic. Fate blushed at Cj's choice of words, but the fifteen year old didn't see. Fate slowly took his hand, and CJ noticed the men had broke into a full sprint.

"Hey! Stop!" the men shouted. As Fate turned she saw the strange men running after them, causing her to start to panic. Before she could do anything else CJ jumped, taking Fate overboard just as the men tried grabbing Fate. The two managed to land in the back of the boat, but the men looked over the rail and readied themselves to jump on and stop the four kids.

"Go!" CJ shouted at Rebecca, who watched the men. The girl waited, causing her three passengers to start screaming once they saw one of the men jump over the railing. Rebecca then slammed her foot on the gas pedal and the boat sped away, causing the man to land in the water just like Owen had. Rebecca began to laugh as the speedboat flew past the S.S Anne.

"What the hell was that!?" Fate shouted at Rebecca as she fell into her seat in the back with CJ. "Those guys could've killed us or something!"

"No they wouldn't have. Besides, we got away," Rebecca replied nonchalantly, causing Fate to start fuming.

"Where are we headed now?" Owen quizzed, trying to change the subject so the two girls wouldn't fight.

"The only way we can get the electricity back is turning the generator back on," Rebecca started. Owen nodded and laid back in his chair, but shot forward and tried asking another question. "It's in the sewers," the girl stated plainly, answering Owen's question.

"You can't be serious!" Fate screamed in rage. Rebecca didn't respond to the older girl, answering Fate's question. "Fine. But I'm not going in there," Fate told the three other teens.

"That's fine. You can keep the boat safe while me, Owen, and the kid next to you go in there and fix the generator," Rebecca told Fate. The Hoenn native nodded at the plan, but still pouted.

After a few minutes of silence, Rebecca stopped the speedboat in front of the entrance to the sewers, which reeked of alcohol and feces. The four kids faces all scrunched up and they covered their noses after smelling the repulsive odor.

"Let's get this over with," Owen muttered while hopping out of the parked water vehicle with Rebecca.

"Are you sure you want to stay out here?" CJ asked Fate while stepping out of the boat. "If you want me to, I'll stay with you," the boy offered. Fate blushed, but again, CJ didn't notice.

Even though she wanted him to stay with her, she didn't want to seem so desperate, so she decided to shake her head. CJ nodded and ran into the sewers to catch up to Owen and Rebecca, leaving Fate by herself. Sighing, the girl called out all six of her Pokemon to help protect the boat.

Meanwhile, the other three trainers walked through the disgusting underground sewage system. The disgusting stench of liquor became more potent the further they walked into the dark tunnel, making all three teens feel uneasy.

"Heatmor, come on out and use your tail to help navigate us," Owen said strangely, due to his nose being pinched shut. Heatmor appeared from his Pokeball and produced a powerful flame from his tail, helping everyone see. "Thanks, buddy," Owen told the fire type, who nodded in response. The group walked past several sketchy men in leather jackets, all of whom slurred their words.

"I really don't like this place," CJ whispered to the two other kids, who were hurrying past yet another group of thugs. "Everyone, come on out." CJ's three Pokemon appeared by his side and walked along with their trainer protectively, while Rebecca and Heatmor led the pack. Owen and Snivy stayed in-between the two trainers, watching where he was stepping.

"We don't have much further to go," Rebecca told the two boys as they cross over a bridge. Shortly after her saying this, Rebecca spotted the area that concealed the generator. Though it was nearly impossible to see, Rebecca found a tiny walkway that led to the area thanks to the light Heatmor was producing. Owen and CJ followed close behind the girl as they slowly made their way across the dangerously unstable walkway that hung over a powerful stream of water. After successfully crossing the water, the group arrived at the narrow opening they had been hoping to see.

"Is this it?" Owen asked before gagging at the smell coming from the area. The five Pokemon that were outside their Pokeballs didn't seem to be fazed by the scent, so they were puzzled by the humans' reactions.

"Yup. I guess there was a gas leak or something," Rebecca assumed while walking towards the generator. Owen and CJ trailed behind the girl who seemed to know the sewers like the back of her hand, hoping they'd be able to leave the area as soon as possible. "Heatmor, could you give me a little more light?" Rebecca asked the fire type. Heatmor nodded and shot a Flame Burst at the ground, which lit up the entire room.

"OH MY GOD!" Rebecca shrieked.

"WHAT IS THAT?" CJ screamed at the top of his lungs while pointing at the massive hoard of toxic waste laying on the generator. His question was answered when the strange goop jumped off the generator and started sliding towards the group.

Owen pulled out his Pokedex and scanned the thing, hoping it was a Pokemon.

"Muk, the Sludge Pokemon. A toxic fluid seeps from its body. The fluid instantly kills plants and trees on contact." Owen looked up at the enormous body of poison that was now reverting back to its normal appearance. The giant Pokemon's eyes locked onto the three trainers before it let out a mighty roar that scared the clothes off the kids. Heatmor, however, stepped forwards and glared at his enormous foe.

"Heatmor, use Flame Burst!" Owen commanded.

"Wait! If you do that you could hit the generator!" CJ screamed to the anteater Pokemon. Heatmor stopped his attack instantly, and Owen began to step forward.

"We've gotta take care of this thing, Heatmor! Use Flame Wheel!" Owen shouted. Heatmor wrapped himself in fire before spinning towards the large purple Pokemon. The attack struck head-on, but Muk didn't seem fazed by it. Heatmor then tried running back to Owen, but Muk's sticky body kept him from moving away. The enormous poison type then began to smother Heatmor, who tried fighting the wild Pokemon off.

"Heatmor, return!" Owen shouted. The fire type was zapped back into his Pokeball before Muk could injure him, letting Owen breathe a sigh of relief. "I don't know what we can do. This thing is too strong," Owen told the others.

"Osha!" Wotter cried before running towards Muk. The pile of toxic acid watched the tiny otter unleash a powerful Water Gun, but it did no damage whatsoever, causing Wotter to run back to CJ in fear.

"The only thing you can do is try catching it!" Rebecca shouted to Owen as Muk began to make its way towards them.

"Alright. Go, Pokeball!" Owen shouted as he hurled the nifty device at the wild Pokemon. The red and white sphere struck its target, and sucked the poison type inside. Owen, Rebecca, and CJ all held their breath while the Pokeball shook from side to side for what seemed to be minutes.

Ping!

Owen crept towards the Pokeball, afraid that Muk was going to burst out at any second. Despite his gut feeling, the Pokeball didn't break open. Owen, however, decided to leave it on the ground just to make sure it didn't happen.

"You can't be serious!" Rebecca shouted before burying her face into her hands.

"What's the matter?" CJ asked as he and Owen walked over to the girl standing by the generator.

"I can't start it. It has to get electricity before it can run properly." After hearing this, Owen took a Pokeball off his belt and tossed it in the air. Blitzle materialized from the flash of light and he had a happy smile on his face.

"Blitzle, Castelia City doesn't have any electricity, so I'm gonna need you to power up this generator," Owen told the electric type. Blitzle looked over at the machine before nodding and making his way towards it. "Whenever you're ready, use Shock Wave," Owen said as he and the others backed away from the broken down machine. After taking a deep breath, Blitzle unleashed a powerful stream of electricity, which the generator began to absorb.

"Bliiiitz!" Blitzle cried before stopping the Shock Wave and hanging his head tiredly. The group looked on as the lights on the generator began flashing, but they cut out.

"Try it one more time, Blitzle," Owen commanded, even though he knew his Pokemon couldn't use Shock Wave much longer. However, Blitzle nodded and unleashed another wave of electricity that looked much stronger than the first.

The generator's green lights began to flash rapidly while Blitzle continued to feed it electricity. Even though he was clearly exhausted, Blitzle continued using Shock Wave. He didn't want to let the city down. But more importantly, he didn't want to let Owen down.

"BLIIIITZ!" Blitzle roared as his head whipped up and he used his remaining energy to power the generator. As Blitzle's legs began to shake, the generator let out a loud noise before its lights turned on and it began to run obnoxiously.

"Way to go, Blitzle!" Owen cheered before running over to Blitzle and hugging the zebra. Blitzle beamed as Owen pulled away from the Pokemon, and he began shooting Shock Wave attacks left and right with no issue, which brought a bright grin to Owen's face. "And you can use Shock Wave all the time? Damn, you're good."

"Owen, are you coming or what?" CJ asked the younger boy as he and Rebecca walked out of the area.

"I'll catch up to you guys in a second," Owen answered before withdrawing Blitzle. Snivy, who was sitting on Owen's shoulder decided to hop off and circle around the generator before smiling at her teammate's accomplishment. Then, she walked over to the Pokeball that was on the ground, which Owen had forgotten about. "Thanks for reminding me, Snivy," Owen said as he walked over to Muk's Pokeball.

"Hmm… I like that addition to your team," a voice told Owen. He could tell by its pitch that it belonged to a girl, but he didn't see anyone. Acting like he hadn't heard the voice, Owen picked Snivy up and put her on his shoulder before he started walking out of the area. Just as he was about to reach the walkway, an invisible force pushed him back and nearly knocked him over.

"What the hell?" he muttered for the second time that night.

"Sorry. I didn't mean to push you that hard," the same voice said. Owen looked around nervously, again not seeing anyone. Just as he tried making his way to the exit, a pale figure appeared on the middle of the walkway. Slowly, it made its way towards Owen, who was shaking nervously. Snivy looked at her trainer and didn't understand what he was looking at, which confused her.

"Wh-who are you?" Owen stammered. Once the white figure was close enough, Owen's jaw dropped when he recognized its face.

"It's been a while, hasn't it?" the feminine voice asked before laughing at its own joke.

"Janine?" Owen asked in awe. The ghostly body of his previous love interest nodded with a smile on her face, making Owen's heart nearly jump out of his chest. "What are you doing here?" he quizzed.

"If you can't tell, I'm dead," she answered bluntly. "But I am here for a reason," she added, piquing Owen's interest. "I'm pretty surprised I found you so fast, though. I've been following you since you left for Unova, so I guess it was only a matter of time."

"Why were you following me?" the confused teenager asked.

"I'm worried about how your dealing with… this," a ghostly Janine replied while gesturing to herself. Owen frowned at her comment, not believing she knew what he had gone through since that day at Mt. Coronet. "I totally understand mourning, which you did for a while, and I get trying to move on," the ghost told Owen. "Trying to push out the memories of that day isn't healthy, Owen."

"You don't know what I've gone through," the boy shot back. "You died because I was too weak to stop Cyrus! I vowed to win the Sinnoh League for you, but I lost in the championship because I was too weak!" Owen shouted as tears began to form in his eyes. Snivy looked at Owen like he was crazy. From what she was seeing, he was screaming at thin air because she wasn't able to see Janine's ghost.

"Owen…" the ghost said before trailing off, "don't think like that."

"Why not?" the boy asked angrily.

"Well, I came here to warn you of something." The boy looked straight into the ghost's eyes, waiting for her to continue. "Team Solar is planning to take over the Unova region, and they'll do anything to make that happen," the ghost warned.

"Why are you telling me this?" Owen asked, genuinely confused by the ghost's warning.

"There's a reason you lost in Sinnoh… and that was so you'd come here. Unova needs you to stop them." Owen stepped back in shock and nearly fell down. He remained speechless, prompting Janine's ghost to continue speaking. "But there will be another threat, much more powerful than Team Solar," Janine warned.

"Who, or what is it?"

"I… don't know. However, you will meet powerful new friends, and form many close relationships with people you'd never expect. But lives will be lost in your pursuit to stop the threat," she replied. Before Owen could say another word, the ghost smiled and disappeared from his sight. The boy stood still, puzzled about whether the conversation he had was real or not. Shaking off his confusion, Owen managed to get out of the sewers with little problem, and he was met by Rebecca, CJ, and Fate sitting in the speedboat.

"There you are! Get in," Fate told the teen. Owen nodded and hopped into the boat, still thinking about the conversation he just had. Was it real? Maybe. The one thing that ate at him, though, was the last thing the ghost said.

"...lives will be lost…"

And I finally finished. I enjoyed writing this chapter, but there were some parts that were tough to get through. So, Owen caught a Muk, and Blitzle has finally mastered his use of Shock Wave! Also, I dropped a HUGE hint for Kalos in this chapter, so feel free to guess what it was. Next chapter, Owen will be taking on Burgh, and you guys will learn about Snivy's past. Till next time, peace out.

*It turns out Ash caught his Muk under similar circumstances, which I didn't know, but I've had this idea since halfway through Sinnoh and I didn't find out the Ash thing until I finished this chapter

1) Do you like the addition of Muk?

Next Chapter: Bugging Out!
