Hey there, readers! Last chapter, Owen won his third badge thanks to Muk defeating Burgh's Leavanny in his first battle with Owen. Also, Ariel, a brand new and mysterious character, was introduced along with her Blaziken. The two seemed to be looking for Owen, and Ariel also has some murderous feelings towards someone. Now, Owen and company will be traveling to Nimbasa City for his gym battle and Fate's contest. This is going to be a fairly short chapter because it was almost impossible to write, so let's get going!

"So you live in this building?" CJ asked as he, Rebecca, Fate, and Owen piled into one of the four elevators in the building's lobby. The floor was marble, the walls had crown molding, and everything was spotless.
"That's right," Rebecca replied before hitting the button that would take the group up to the highest floor. "Not too much stuff goes on here, though. It's usually just a bunch of old people and investors that live in this building, so there isn't much for kids to do," she informed the three older teens. Once the elevator's ascension stopped, the doors opened and revealed an enormous living area. As CJ, Fate, and Owen stepped out of the elevator, they gaped at the open floor plan. Just that area of the apartment had to have been 1000 square feet.
"You guys can sleep on the couch if you want," Rebecca said while gesturing the gigantic sectional. Owen ran his hands over the smooth leather couch before fainting. How much money the apartment was worth overwhelmed him.
"REBECCA!"
The four teens froze up in fear at the irate voice. Rebecca looked around before seeing a little girl walk out of a hallway, which most likely held all of the bedrooms. She looked exactly like Rebecca, except she wore an elegant dress and was holding a Lillipup in her arms. She was scowling, and boy was she intimidating.
"What do you want, Jenny?" Rebecca asked, albeit sassily.
"Mom and Dad said they were going to call to talk to you about stealing the speedboat," Jenny told Rebecca bluntly. Rebecca froze up in fear again before sitting on the couch and putting her hands into her face.
"What's the matter? Do they know those guys that were coming after us when we stole it?" Fate asked nervously. Rebecca nodded before sighing in disappointment. She looked over at the three trainers that were traveling together and took a deep breath.
"Those guys were the security on the ship," Rebecca started.
"That doesn't seem too bad. I-" Owen opined before being cut off.
"My parents own the S.S Anne and hired them to keep an eye on me." Not a word was said from anyone for the next minute until Jenny spoke up.
"I'm gonna go brush Mr. Kibbles again. You might want to get out of here, sis. I could just tell Mom and Dad that you decided to go on a journey, and they'd be fine with it."
"Thanks, Jen. You're the best little sister anyone could ask for," Rebecca told Jenny before hugging her. "Alright, guys, we have to get out of here."
"Hold on a second," Fate ordered, making Rebecca stop packing her bag. "Who said you were coming with us?" Fate looked over at Owen and CJ for support, but was disappointed by their decisions.
"Who cares? The more the merrier!" Owen decreed loudly while slamming his foot on the ground. His response was so patriotic, it would've brought George Bush to tears, but he didn't live in the Pokemon world, so no one knew he was. Anyways, after Rebecca finished packing her backpack, she and the others headed into the elevator and made their way out the apartment.

"Can anyone explain why we're traveling through the desert in the middle of the night?" CJ shouted over the harsh winds. No one responded, not even his Drilbur, making him even more agitated. Only Snivy was angrier, and that was because she was inside her cramped Pokeball, which everyone knew she despised. The four kids and Excalibur pushed onwards, hoping to find a place to sleep for the night.
"Why couldn't we have just stayed at a Pokemon Center!? That would've been way smarter!" Fate screamed. Again, no one responded, making Fate just as disgruntled as CJ. Owen and Rebecca seemed to be doing fine as they trekked through the sand and terrible weather. Neither had complained about the terrible conditions they had faced, nor did they plan on it. They both knew complaining would only hurt the group, and they wanted to get out of the desert as fast as possible.
After a few more minutes of walking, Owen's eyes locked onto a strange construction sight. He didn't know why there would be construction in the middle of a desert, but he decided to not pay attention. The four teens continued to walk down a paved road - a rather strange place for one - before laying their eyes on a bright tunnel. Tunnels like the one they saw connected cities to routes, and vice versa.
"Finally! We're finally here!" Fate shrieked excitedly before running towards the bright tunnel of hope. Just as she was about to reach it, a blast of fire exploded just in front of Fate, knocking her onto her backside. Four figures appeared in front of the flames and they began to screech as Owen, CJ, and Rebecca helped Fate to her feet.
"Darma!
"Manitan!"
"Manitan!"
"Darma!"
Everyone drew a Pokeball as the four Pokemon stepped through the fire and revealed themselves. They were all the same Pokemon, and they had red fur along with freakishly long arms. Their leg were fairly short, and they had long red eyebrows that were yellow at the very end near their eyes.
"Darmanitan, the Blazing Pokemon. Its internal fire burns at 2,500º F, making enough power that it can destroy a dump truck with one punch."
Owen looked back up from his Pokedex and began to sweat nervously. The four fire types in front of him began slamming their hands on the ground, causing the paved road to crack instantly. The Pokeball in his hand was met by another, and the teen let out a deep breath before throwing the two Pokeballs forward.
"Prinplup, Heatmor, go!" Owen yelled. The two aforementioned Pokemon appeared in front of their trainer and prepared for battle with the four Darmanitan.
"Hez, Daisy, Sawk, let's help out!"
"Wotter, Excalibur, go!"
"Deerling, come on out!"
The eight Pokemon standing in front of their trainers looked ready to do battle with the Darmanitan, and the four Pokemon gained interest in the battle once they saw they were outnumbered. There was a moment of stillness where nobody moved a muscle, making Owen feel uneasy about the battle.
"Mani?" one of the Darmanitan asked the others as he looked past the four trainers and their Pokemon. The teens noticed, and so did all of the Pokemon except for Wotter, who charged at the group of fire types.
"Osha!" Wotter shouted before jumping in the air and taking the scalchop off his chest. A trail of blue light trailed behind the scalchop, and he tried slashing the Darmanitan that had just spoken up. The fire types began to run away, dodging Wotter's super effective attack. The water type starter looked around in confusion before flashing a bright smile, causing everyone to laugh.
"Everyone, get out of the way!" A boy appeared through the ferocious sandstorm behind everyone and was running alongside a Growlithe. The random trainer and his Pokemon blew past the four traveling trainers, who looked around with puzzled expressions on their faces.
"Kroka!" Everyone turned their attention to the area that the boy had just ran from and saw a hoard of figures running their way. Upon further investigation, Rebecca recognized the Pokemon and began to scream.
"Let's go! Those are Krokorok!" The fear in her voice drove everyone, including the boy and his Growlithe to run away from the road and hide in the sand. The group of brown crocodiles stormed through the tunnel and let out battle cries that scared the five trainers and nine Pokemon.
"Damn! Those Krokorok were so strong!" the random boy exclaimed as he got up and wiped the sand off his clothes. "I figured I'd try to catch one after I found a Braviary here, but we had no shot. By the way, my name's Blake Redstone," he greeted.
"Wait, you haven't heard of that group of Krokorok?" Rebecca asked Blake. The boy shook his head, causing Rebecca to face palm. "They're the most feared group of Pokemon in the entire region! They jump trainers and try destroying cities just for fun!" Rebecca screamed angrily.
"Oh. If I had known that I would've never tried catching those. Well, at least I can get my fourth badge!" Blake cheered as he turned to walk towards the tunnel. Owen withdrew his two Pokemon and followed after Blake.
"Me too! I'm Owen Plateau, nice to meet you," Owen greeted while extending his hand. Blake took it and grinned at Owen while his Growlithe barked happily. "Have you competed in any leagues before?" Owen asked.
"Nope. I came here from Johto a couple months ago with Growlithe as my only Pokemon, so we're kind of new to this thing," Blake confessed. "But I think we're doing pretty well for our first time around, right, Growlithe?" The Pokemon barked in response while wagging his tail happily.
"Hey, why don't we have a battle?" Owen suggested.
"What do you say, Growlithe?" Blake asked. The fire type barked again, making his trainer smile excitedly. "Let's do it! How about we have it at the Pokemon Center?" Owen nodded, so the two began walking towards the other end of the tunnel while Fate, CJ, and Rebecca caught up to the two boys. As soon as they walked out of the tunnel, everyone gasped as they saw a storm of Krokorok running ramp throughout the city. Buildings were being destroyed, and trainers were being attacked by the hundreds of Krokorok.
"Holy crap," CJ muttered while the group stared at the city in shock.
"Blake, I think we're going to have to put off that battle."
I know, I know, that was a very short chapter. I'm hoping to get the next chapter up either today or tomorrow, so keep an eye out for that. Now, Owen and company met Blake, who will be one of Owen's four rivals (he'll be less prominent than the others, but he'll still be a big challenge). Anyways, Owen's going to get help from an unexpected ally, and he'll catch a new Pokemon. Till next time, peace out.
