Greetings. This chapter will be about Owen training for his gym battle (again), but don't worry! Things ail start picking up next chapter, so this is the last of the 'boring' chapters for a little while. Going back to last chapter Snivy, Empoleon, and Heatmor learned the pledge attacks, and that's about it. Now, let's get this chapter going! And until further notice, there might be some really weird typos. Once I got my laptop fixed, I'll let you guys now.
tepigsfire758: It figures I don't have as many typos on my crappy tablet :/
NodokaLover: Noted, but he won't be catching either of those because he's only catching one more Pokemon
shadowmwape: Hmmm… I wonder who it will be :3

"Keep it up, Heatmor and Snivy! Use Fire and Grass Pledge!" Owen shouted. Heatmor's stomach began to glow orange while Snivy's glowed green, and the two punched the ground at the same time. Tranquill and Puff flew away from the spinning column of red and green energy and narrowly escaped before flying towards the grass and fire types.
"Now use Quick Attack and Rollout!" Owen yelled to the two flying Pokemon. Puff began to spin before hitting the ground and speeding towards Heatmor while Tranquill descended towards Snivy at light speed while a trail of white light flew off her body. Heatmor quickly jumped over Puff and the two stopped battling. As Tranquill swooped down, Snivy rolled to her left and avoided the attack. As a result, Tranquill crashed into the ground and grabbed her beak in pain.
"Tranquill, are you okay?" Owen asked his flying type nervously. Tranquill got back on her feet and nodded while rubbing her neck sheepishly. "Alright, I think that's enough training today for you four," Owen decided while walking over to Zebstrika and Muk. "Are you two up for some training?"
"Zeb!" Zebstrika answered emphatically while nodding.
"Muu," Muk answered lazily before sliding over to Rebecca and her three Pokemon. The poison type then started talking to Rebecca's Oshawott and Deino while Deerling practiced his Double Kick on a dummy.
"Deerling, are you up for some training with Zebstrika?" Owen asked the dual normal and grass type. Deerling turned and ran over to Owen and the other four legged Pokemon while wagging his tail excitedly. "Rebecca, do you mind?"
"No. We're basically trading right now since Muk wants to sit around with us," the girl responded while laying down on the grass. CJ and Fate were also at the empty field. Fate was practicing combinations for her upcoming contest. Sawk and Daisy would be performing in the battle round while Rose and Hez were going in the performance rounds.
"Zebstrika, use Shock Wave! Deerling, dodge it and then use Energy Ball!" While the two sparring Pokemon obeyed their commands, Heatmor, Snivy, and Tranquill were sitting around lazily.

"I still can't believe you learned how to use Fire Pledge! That's so cool!" Tranquill exclaimed while rubbing her bruised beak. "Don't you think so, Snivy?"
The grass type blushed at the question before standing up and hiding her face from Tranquill and Heatmor. "Yeah, it was awesome that Heatmor proved that woman wrong."
"Thanks! And your Grass Pledge is really strong. I wish I could've learned how to use Fire Pledge as fast as you," Heatmor told Snivy before starting his ten sets of 200 pushups. Snivy blushed at the compliment from Heatmor and she turned to face Tranquill.
"So how's your training going, Tranquill?" Snivy asked while trying to change the topic.
"It's alright I guess. I've been in a bit of slump these past couple weeks, so I just need to work through it," Tranquill replied while stretching her wings.
"If you want to, I could help you train," Heatmor offered while nearing the end of his first set.
"Thanks, Heatmor! If you wouldn't mind, I want to work on dodging in the air." Heatmor finished his first set and nodded at the flying type, prompting her to take to the skies. "I'm ready whenever you are!"
"Okay!" Heatmor shouted back. He then reared his head back while puffing his chest out, and then he shot a series of gigantic bullets of fire towards Tranquill. The flying type began to spin away from each attack and began to fly around in a circle while Heatmor continued to shoot Flame Burst attacks. Tranquill continued to dodge, and stopped once Heatmor paused to regain his breath.
"Heatmor, could you use Fire Pledge? And Snivy, would you mind using Grass Pledge?" Tranquill yelled while flapping her wings high in the air. Both Pokemon waved back in response before their stomachs began to glow orange and green respectively. Tranquill then began to fly around while judging where each column of flames or leaves would end up. The flying type effortlessly dodged each and every attack, which caused Heatmor to turn to Snivy.
"Let's go rapid fire," he told the grass type. Snivy nodded and the two began to slam their fists on the ground repeatedly, causing dozens of the pledge attacks to spring up into the sky.
"Woah!" Tranquill screamed as she narrowly avoided a Fire and Grass Pledge combo. She then zipped through the air and began to use Quick Attack to help her avoid the powerful attacks. After taking her eye off Heatmor and Snivy, Tranquill flew straight into an unexpected Fire Pledge, which made her fall from the sky.
(Switch POV)
"Tranquill? Don't worry, I'll catch you!" Owen boomed before bolting towards his falling Pokemon. As Tranquill continued her free fall, Owen dove forward and stuck his arms out as far as he could.
"Unfezant, grab her!" a voice commanded. Owen's head whipped up to see a blur fly through the air and catch Tranquill on its back. After landing on the ground, Owen saw that it was a female Unfezant that caught Tranquill, and she helped Tranquill back onto the ground. Everyone ran over to Tranquill and they looked at the friendly Unfezant in confusion.
"Why is there a wild Unfezant here?" CJ asked while looking around with a puzzled expression. The three other trainers shrugged, but jumped back when the Unfezant shot into the air. They watched as the Pokemon flew away and descended into a nosedive before landing on its feet and in front of a girl that looked to be around the age of sixteen. She had two strands of long red hair falling down both sides of her face while the rest of her hair was held together in a bun with a blue hair clip. She also wore a leather blue top that exposed her stomach and a pair of powder blue shorts that stopped at her thighs. She also wore a pair of light blue gloves that reached her forearms and a pair of blue boots that stopped above her calves.
"You should be taking better care of that Tranquill. The way you're training her is reckless," the girl scolded while wagging her finger at Owen and his Pokemon. Zebstrika and Deerling looked at each other in confusion before turning their attention to Owen, who was checking on Tranquill. "Wait a second, your name's Owen, right?" the girl asked while Owen patted Tranquill on the head after he learned she was okay.
"Yeah, how'd you know?" Owen asked curiously. Heatmor protectively stood in front of Owen while fire began shooting out of his tail, causing the girl and her Unfezant to chuckle.
"I've been hearing a lot about you from the other gym leaders, especially Clay. He talked really highly of you, and that you even got stabbed in the stomach by a Combusken," the girl replied.
Owen flinched at the reminder of his incident with Team Solar and the Combusken, which the girl noticed.
"I'm Skyla, by the way," the girl said while introducing herself. "I could help you train your Tranquill. The gym leader here is pretty tough," Skyla offered. Her Unfezant puffed out its chest pridefully, which caught Tranquill's attention.
"Thanks, that'd be great for us. Right, Tranquill?" Owen asked his flying type. Tranquill nodded violently while the five Pokemon that had been training all walked away to continue practicing with each other.
"Hold on a second. We could use your Pokemon to help train."

"Make sure Tranquill keeps one eye on the ground and another in the air," Skyla told Owen while Unfezant and Tranquill continued dodging the various attacks being launched by Owen's four Pokemon and Deerling. Muk, meanwhile, was busy playing with Rebecca's Pokemon. Heatmor was using Flame Burst, Snivy was using Grass Pledge, Zebstrika was using Shock Wave, Puff was using Sing, and Deerling was using Energy Ball.
Unfezant and Tranquill had been training for about an hour, and Tranquill was struggling mightily. She had been hit by each of the attacks that were being fired while Unfezant managed to evade all of them with minimal effort.
"Did you hear that, Tranquill?" Owen shouted to the Pokemon he captured first. Tranquill squawked back while nodding, and she began to fly around with Unfezant. "Alright, everyone, fire!" Owen ordered. All of the Pokemon began shooting their attacks every three seconds while Tranquill and Unfezant dodged each of the obstacles. Suddenly, a powerful bolt of electricity zipped in front of Tranquill and just missed her, which made Unfezant squawk at Tranquill.
(Switch POV)
"Keep an eye on the ground and one in the sky!" the fully evolved Pokemon yelled authoritatively.
"How is that even possible? My eyes can't do that!" Tranquill shot back in frustration. This time, a blast of fire flew past Tranquill and nearly charred her to a crisp. "You know what? Fine! I'll try that stupid thing!" Tranquill turned her right eye towards the ground and her left eye somehow managed to stay straight and it surveyed the sky. Suddenly, all five attacks were shot towards Tranquill, and she began spinning in-between and around each attack skillfully.
"See? I told you it would work!" Unfezant shouted as she soared through the air gracefully.
(Switch POV)
"Great job, Tranquill!" Owen screamed to the flying type that continued to spin past each attack. Tranquill chirped back merrily before swooping down towards the ground. Much to everyone's surprise, white trails of light flew off her beak which made her look like a missile. In the blink of an eye, Tranquill threw her legs towards the ground and landed perfectly, which resulted in a round of applause from the five other Pokemon, CJ, Fate, Owen, and Skyla. Unfezant landed shortly after and walked over to Tranquill before patting the younger female on the back.
"That went by really quickly," Skyla commented while walking over to Owen, CJ, and Fate. Rebecca and the three Pokemon that she had been playing with made their way over too and listened to what the red haired girl had to say. "I'm impressed with how you and your Pokemon communicate and train. You shouldn't have a problem with the gym leader."
"We wouldn't have done so well if it wasn't for you and your Unfezant, so thanks," Owen told the older girl with a smile. Tranquill smiled at Skyla's Unfezant and stuck her wing out. Unfezant shook Tranquill's wing and both flying types smiled along with their trainers, who were shaking hands too.
"You seem like you're really good with flying types, Skyla," Fate told the redhead. Skyla froze up nervously but regained her composure before the four younger teens could realize. "How do you know so much about them?" Fate quizzed.
"I'm actually a pilot, and my flying types always fly with me. So I guess I picked up their habits over the years. Anyways, I've gotta get going. Good luck with your gym battle, Owen," Skyla told the fourteen year old before walking away. Her Unfezant gave Tranquill a sod punt on the wing before smiling and flying after her trainer.
"You've been really lucky these past two days. First, someone teaches your Pokemon how to use the pledge attacks, and now Skyla helped Tranquill with her flying!" Rebecca exclaimed while withdrawing her three Pokemon back to their Pokeballs. Owen did the same, except he kept Snivy and Tranquill out. CJ and Fate left their starters out and the group of four trainers began to walk back to the Pokemon Center.
"At least we finally get to do something exciting tomorrow," Owen said aloud before turning to Fate and grinning. "You better win your contest."
"Don't worry, I will."

"My liege, we are prepared to initiate our final plans," the blonde haired woman from Driftveil and Castelia told a person sitting in a chair that was turned away from her.
"Excellent. Take action tomorrow." The blonde nodded and bowed to the man before walking out of the dark room. "Soon, Team Solar will control the Unova region, and there's nothing Owen Plateau can do about it!" the nameless person proclaimed. With that, they walked out of the room, but a picture of Owen remained displayed on an enormous screen against the wall.

"Please, have mercy!" a sailor shouted desperately after being slammed up against a wall on his boat. "I'll do anything you want me to! Please, just don't kill me!"
A laugh came from across the boat and a pair of boots began clacking as the girl began walking forward. The sailor stared at her in pure terror, hoping that he wasn't seeing his last moments on the planet.
"Fine. Take us to the Unova League," the girl ordered. "Or else Blaziken here will burn you to death." The sailor looked at the Blaziken that was holding him against the wall, but he didn't originally recognize the Hoenn starter. It's white hair was pointed upwards, and there were two strange orange ribbons hanging from both of his wrists.
"Okay! Right away, ma'am!" he yelled before running into the captain's room and starting up the boat.
"Ariel, I think that was a bit extreme. You didn't need to use Mega Evolution or threaten his life," Blaziken told his trainer as he reverted back to his normal form.
"I don't care. All I'm focused on is finding him."
What the what? Two people are trying to find Owen, and it's about to get rowdy, people. So, Owen met Skyla and they trained together to help Tranquill with her dodging, and she learned Aerial Ace in the process! Next chapter will be Fate's contest, which will be a doozy because of a rule that will mess with all of the coordinators' plans. Till next time, peace out.
1) What's up with Snivy and blushing lately? :3
2) Do you want to see Krokorok back in action?
3) If you had to pick Owen's six strongest Pokemon to this point (from Kanto through Sinnoh, or Unova if you feel strongly), who would they be?
