Chapter 26

To celebrate getting into the finals, Tim had invited Drug-X, Galamorous and Malachite (and their friends too) over to his house for a party. The party had video games, a karaoke machine and more snacks then a candy shop. "This is a really cool party, Tim." DA began, sipping a cup of coke. "Thanks DA." Tim replied. "I'm glad you all could come." DA nodded and turned to the rest of Drug-X who were playing DDR against the bass player and drummer of Malachite. "That being said," Tim continued, "are you okay with the fact Judd is here?" DA nodded. "Yeah, it doesn't bug me anymore." Tim smiled then turned and went to find Phoebe, who was getting a make over from Keesha. Wanda was on the karaoke machine singing Raise your Glass. Eventually, some one booed her, and Wanda's response was to jump off the stage and shove the microphone up his nose. "NO!" Tim screamed. "That was my parents's microphone!" Dorothy Anna quietly laughed as Tim was practically sobbing. Finally, Arnold came running towards her. "Have you seen Janet?" He asked. DA shook her head. "Why?" Arnold gulped. "She was acting bummed all day and I haven't seen her since..." "Maybe she's in the washroom." DA suggested. Arnold shook his head. "I just looked there." DA scrunched up her face. "Ok. I'll go look for her. You enjoy yourself." Arnold nodded, then went over to Wanda and tried to help the poor guy get the mike out of his nose. DA turned and went around each room in the house, but Janet was gone. Growing annoyed, she went outside where she heard familiar... Sing talking.

I miss your soft lips, I miss your white sheets

I miss the scratch of your unshaved face on my cheek

And this is so hard 'cause I didn't see

That you were the love of my life and it kills me

The voice was so pure and sad, DA had to follow it.

I see your face in strangers on the street

I still say your name when I'm talking in my sleep

And in the limelight, I play it off fine

But I can't handle it when I turn off my night light

But I can't handle it when I turn off my night light

They say that true love hurts, well this could almost kill me

Young love murder, that is what this must be

I would give it all to not be sleeping alone

Alone

The life is fading from me while you watch my heart bleed

Young love murder, that is what this must be

I would give it all to not be sleeping alone

Alone

Going to a forest, DA saw Janet sitting on a stump, singing while fingering something.

Remember the time we jumped the fence when

The Stones were playing and we were too broke to get in

You held my hand and they made me cry while

I swore to God it was the best night of my life

Or when you took me across the world

We promised that this would last forever but now I see

It was my past life, a beautiful time

Drunk off of nothing but each other 'til the sunrise

Drunk off of nothing but each other 'til the sunrise

They say that true love hurts, well this could almost kill me

Young love murder, that is what this must be

I would give it all to not be sleeping alone

Alone

The life is fading from me while you watch my heart bleed

Young love murder, that is what this must be

I would give it all to not be sleeping alone

Alone

It was a past life, a beautiful time

Drunk off of nothing but each other 'til the sunrise

They say that true love hurts, well this could almost kill me

Young love murder, that is what this must be

I would give it all to not be sleeping alone

Alone

The life is fading from me while you watch my heart bleed

Young love murder, that is what this must be

I would give it all to not be sleeping alone

Alone

When she breathed her last sentence, DA was ready to turn back to tell Arnold she found DA and she was ok, but she stepped on a stick and the snap caught Janet's attention. When she saw DA, her eyes narrowed into little slits. "You!" She snapped. "Get out of here! You've already ruined my life!" "I ruined your life?" DA asked, "how?" "You convinced Judd to seduce me!" Janet argued, standing up and stalking over to her. "You made him pretend to fall for me while you were banging him behind the scenes." "Are you crazy?" DA asked. "You took him from ME! You almost ruined my life! If I hadn't realized he was such a wad, I would have dropped out long ago!" Janet refused to take her answer. "Still! You ruined my life!" She argued. "And besides!" DA continued, "I am with Carlos now! Not Judd!" Janet looked at her, snorting like a bull. DA stood her ground, giving Janet a stern no nonsense look. Finally, Janet dropped what she was holding. Quickly, DA leaned down and picked it up. It was a long white stick with two lines. "Oh, Janet..." DA began. Janet responded by hugging DA, crying into her shoulder. "He dumped me when I told him." Janet replied. "It's going to be okay." DA said, "we'll be here for you." Janet looked up. "Thank you, DA." She whispered. "And I'm sorry..."
