"For the murder of Freddy Fazbear?"

"Guilty."

He hung his head, folding his cuffed hands. He felt the harsh stares of every person in the courtroom he stood in the middle of.

"For the murder of Gilead Fazbear?"

"Guilty."

"And for Charlotte Vann?"

"Guilty."

"For Bailey Olsen?"

"Guilty."

"And Reynard Coleman?"

"Guilty."

"The court finds Mr. Violet guilty of first degree murder on on all five accounts." At this point, he stopped listening. He hadn't listened for most of his trial, knowing he would be convicted for his misdeeds. In the eyes of the court he was criminally responsible, despite them finding him to be mentally ill. He couldn't be bothered to remember exactly what they said was wrong with him. Regardless, their diagnosis made no impact on their ruling; the sentence was just as harsh. It was as if they hadn't listened to a word he said.

The officers lead him away to where he would be held for a life sentence of twenty-five years before parole would even be presented as an option. During his time in prison, he would often simply lie on his cot in his cell and stare at the ceiling. He couldn't sleep. He hardly ever did. He would lay motionless with his arms folded across his stomach and wait to die. It was all he had left to do.

He looked over at the metal sink in his cell and frowned, met with bags under his eyes and an ugly orange jumpsuit that stared back at him. He almost didn't recognize himself.

Orange isn't your colour.

"I know," he said.

Do something.

"Like what?"

You know what.

He sighed and rolled over, attempting to sleep yet again. No matter what he tried, he couldn't.

They were right. Each night he lie awake, his mind would drift from idea to idea, considering any way he could slip under the radar and regain his freedom. Hiding out in the trash seemed to be his best option. He could escape and no one would know where he went. It was the perfect plan. He decided he'd do it tomorrow, before he lost his motivation to try.

"Honey, are you up?"

"Yes," he mumbled, sitting up and rubbing at his eyes.

She smiled. "Hey." She kissed him. "Did you sleep well?"

He nodded.

"I'm glad." She got out of bed and headed to the kitchen. "Would you like some toast?"

He grinned. "You know me so well."

"I should hope so." He heard her press the lever for the toaster. "Kowalski!" He then heard a quiet meow.

He brought himself out of bed and joined her, stooping to pet his cat before hugging his girlfriend. She looked into his eyes, a soft glimmer of joy in hers.

He caressed her cheek. "You're beautiful."

Freddy Fazbear's Pizza - Tuesday, January 18th, 1994

Porfirio screamed and awoke with a start, smacking his head on the shelf of discarded goods above him. He sighed, slumping back down against the wall. "Just a dream," he mumbled. Rubbing at his head, he glanced around the sullen room, frowning at the state of it.

Kowalski stayed in the corner, not coming over to him as she usually did.

"It's me," he said softly. "Don't be scared."

She stayed in her place.

Porfirio hung his head. "I know, I know… I don't look like me. I hope you'll recognize me soon."

Freddy Fazbear's Pizza - Wednesday, January 19th, 1994

Mike and Fritz were walking to their office at midnight when they heard the front door open. When they turned to look, they saw Thomas and Haruka. Mike, knowing they hadn't had an opportunity to talk to Thomas about their new discovery, felt his heart race and his chest tighten. He looked to Fritz with a wide eyes.

Fritz pat his shoulder and offered a soft smile. Turning his attention to his boss, he said, "Hey, what are ya doin' here so late?"

"Freddy called me. Apparently Porfirio wants to see Haruka," Thomas explained. Haruka looked around the room, appearing to be both excited and afraid to see her boyfriend.

"Ah, I see. Do ya want us to get him to come out here?"

"That would be preferable," Thomas said.

"All right, I'll be back soon." Fritz left the room, leaving Mike with Thomas and Haruka.

Mike glanced over his shoulder to watch him leave and took a shaky breath. "I-I think I need to go to the bathroom. I'll be back…" He began to speed-walk to the washroom.

Haruka frowned. "Mike…"

He stopped. "Y-Yeah?"

"You look a little pale… You're not feeling sick, are you?"

"What? No, I-I mean, uh…" Realizing he could use illness as an excuse to escape, he said, "Y-Yes, I'm not feeling well!"

"What's wrong?" she asked.

Mike gulped. "I'm not feeling well, t-that's all."

"But you just said you felt okay."

"I feel like I'm going to be sick," he mumbled.

Thomas raised an eyebrow. "You seemed to be feeling fine before we came."

Mike wrapped his arms around his stomach and looked down.

"What is it?" he pressed.

"U-Um… Food poisoning!" He looked up at his boss, yet refused to meet his eyes. "Y-Yeah! I had these chicken fingers for dinner a-and they must've been underdone!" Mike let out a nervous laugh. "I should have l-left them in the oven for a bit longer!"

His boss sighed and shook his head slowly.

Before Mike could come up with another poor excuse, Fritz returned with Porfirio. Porfirio took one look at his girlfriend before hanging his head, his rotted ear falling forward. Mike rushed back to his boyfriend's side and fought the urge to be closer than cling wrap. Mike tugged at the man's hand, a pleading look in his eyes. He glanced at Porfirio for a brief moment, then back at Fritz, frowning more.

"Ya don't need to be afraid," he whispered, holding his hand tightly. "I'll look after ya."

Mike nodded, opting to watch the events unfold from his safe space.

Haruka gasped. "Porfirio…"

Rather than speaking, he simply nodded his head slightly, the ear showing more of a response than his actual head. Haruka's eyes welled with tears. She covered her mouth to stifle a sob.

His hand tightened into a fist. "I knew it; I'm scaring you," he said in a low voice. Porfirio spun around sharply and began to stomp toward the Safe Room.

Fritz caught him by the arm. "Hold it right there."

Mike whimpered, taking a few steps back.

Porfirio yanked his arm back, scowling. "Leave me alone."

"P-Porfirio, wait," Haruka called to him.

He looked down at her, daring to meet her eyes. "What?"

She caught up to him and hugged him close, despite his grimy and horrific appearance. Haruka buried her face in the matted, green-tinged fur, seemingly not bothered by the repulsive condition of the animatronic housing Porfirio's soul. "Please… Don't go." She stroked the fur on his back. "I missed you so m-much…"

He looked down at her, realizing just how much shorter she seemed compared to now. Porfirio put his hands on her shoulders, only lightly pushing her away rather than shoving as his instincts urged him to. He sat down, then let the suit go limp. Haruka froze. A moment later, Porfirio stepped out of the suit, exposing his spirit form, matching the looks he bore in life. He gave her a slight smile. "Is that better?"

She smiled through her tears. "I don't care w-what you look like. I love you."

"I love you too," he said. He heard the door to the office creak open, seeing Anthony step out of the room.

Anthony narrowed his eyes at him from his spot across the room. It only lasted for a moment as his attitude suddenly shifted to appearing to be cheerful at the sight of company. "Hello hello!" he greeted, starting toward them. Porfirio noted the chipper smile, the apparent gleam in his eyes, and the confident strides he took. They would have been convincing to anyone but him; he knew it was only an act. The hint of bags under his eyes confirmed his suspicions.

"Oh, hi," she replied. "What are you doing here so late?"

"I was doing some-" Anthony was interrupted by a yawn. "paperwork."

"You must be tired."

He waved it off. "It's nothing to worry about. I used to work this shift myself."

"I see," Haruka said.

"Yeah… So, uh, how have you been?"

She smiled, wiping her tears. "A bit better, now that I know Porfirio's here. Well, since everyone is h-here, I have some good news."

"Oh my gosh, really?" Mike exclaimed. "What is it?"

Haruka put her arm around Porfirio's waist, mindful to not let her arm pass through him. "I'm pregnant!"

"Congrats! How far along are ya?" Fritz asked.

"Only about a month."

Porfirio's face fell. "No… No no no."

"What's wrong?"

"Everything is wrong!" he screamed, backing away. "You cheated on me!"

Haruka was taken off guard. "Cheated on you? What are you talking about? I've only been with you."

Porfirio began to pace. "You're lying. It can't possibly be mine. You cheated on me when I was alive. Don't lie to me."

She frowned slightly. "The baby's yours, I promise. Remember back at Christmas time?"

He stopped moving.

"I was scared and upset at first, but I have you back. I don't need to be afraid any more. I know we'll be okay because we've got each other. I thought you would have been happy… "

He shot her a look. "Happy? I'm dead, Haruka! Don't you get it? I can't help you!"

She looked away and nodded slightly.

"Porfirio, calm down," Thomas soothed. "I'm sure we can make arrangements to make this easier for the two of you."

"See? It's going to be fine," Haruka assured him.

"No it's not!"

"Why?" Fritz asked.

"I'd be an awful parent," Porfirio said. Anthony cleared his throat and fiddled with his cane.

Haruka rested a hand on his shoulder. "I don't think you would be."

He squirmed away from her. "Serial killers make terrible parents."

"What are you talking about?"

Mike's eyes widened. He whispered to Fritz, "I-I was right…"

Fritz sighed and shook his head slowly. Mike shuffled behind him, warily watching Porfirio.

"Do I have to spell it out for you or something?" Porfirio retorted. "I'm. A. Murderer. I can't be trusted with children!"

Haruka felt tears flood her eyes again. She instinctively wrapped her arms around her stomach. "Who did you kill?"

He walked back to his suit. "Half of the people in this building right now, that's who."

She gasped. "N-No…"

Thomas' hands balled into fists. "So, you're the bastard who killed my boys?"

"Yeah," Porfirio said flatly, taking refuge in the suit. "I killed all six of them. I'm your guy. Sorry."

"Where do you think you're going?" he asked, bitterness seeping into his words.

"Anywhere but here."

"You're not getting away again. You've been free for almost seven, no, fifteen years now. Not anymore."

Porfirio brought his suit to its feet. "You think I've been free all of this time? You think I've had it easy? Well, I haven't. I was in jail for a year before I got myself out, and then I had to change everything to stay out. Even then, all I've wanted to do is die. Yet as I felt the blood drain from my body, I realized I took what little I had for granted. I'd give anything to be alive again. But now I don't even have my life, so stop acting like I have it any easier than you do." He turned toward the Safe Room. "Oh, and since we're talking about how much you all hate me, I'm the reason why the Bite Of '87 happened. I tinkered with the little freaks, but it went wrong. They didn't protect me; no one did." He stomped away, leaving his horrified colleagues and girlfriend behind.

Haruka simply remained stunned, as if no more tears could fall. Anthony offered her a short hug, which she readily accepted. Hearing the commotion, all six of the animatronics wandered out of their usual places and stood nearby.

Thomas stared off in the direction Porfirio went for a few moments before saying, "Fritz, I'm sorry for firing you all those years ago. I didn't know."

"No hard feelings," he replied, returning his attention to Mike, who was taking shaky breaths and trembling. He gave him a hug and said, "It's goin' to be alright. I'm goin' to keep ya safe. I promise." Mike quietly said 'okay' and held him tightly.

Thomas furrowed his brow and crossed his arms. "You already knew, didn't you, Mike?"

"I-I'm sorry! F-Fritz and I, w-we were meaning to tell you but didn't g-get the chance to so I got scared!"

"You should have told me immediately," his boss said, his voice only slightly friendlier than a growl.

Mike was nearly hyperventilating. "I-I'm so sorry, s-sir!"

Fritz responded by stroking his hair and softly saying, "Deep breaths, Mikey."

"Pull yourself together," Thomas snapped. "I haven't fired you, so stop acting like I have. I have every reason to be livid with two. You knew we had a child killer among us, yet you didn't say anything!"

"Give him a minute," replied Fritz, holding Mike closer. "We were goin' to tell ya, but we didn't get the chance to. We haven't known for long."

"I don't care how long you knew! You needed to call me!"

"What's happened has happened, and if ya can't tell, Mike's not copin' with bein' yelled at. Be mad at us all ya want, but there's nothin' we can do to fix it."

Thomas grit his teeth. "Fine." Glaring at the other people in the room, he said, "Is there anyone else I should be knowing about?"

"Yeah, about that… I, uh, knew as well," Anthony admitted. "And I mean all of it. M-More than they did. It started when he told me who he really was after he… tried to kill me." He cleared his throat. "Uh, I called him to see how he was doing, and he just... said it. I mean, you know, he didn't really seem like himself at the time. So, I managed to sort out what happened, and he's telling the truth. He really did all of that." He sighed and adjusted the cuff of his sleeve. "Yeah, I didn't want to believe it either. He's still my friend, even though I kind of want to hate him. I-I'm sure his apology was sincere and I don't want to be mad at him, but I just can't let it go."

"Great, you knew as well?" Thomas sighed. "What, am I a stupid dupe to you three?"

"No, n-not at all," Mike stammered.

"Sorry, Thomas," Anthony added.

The boss shook his head slightly, not offering a verbal response.

Haruka managed to calm her voice long enough to quietly ask, "What are you going to do to him?"

"I can tell you one thing: he's not staying here. He's killed people; he's not welcome here."

"W-Where could he go, then?" She met Thomas' eyes. "He can't leave…"

Thomas sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. "I have to scrap him to ensure no one else gets hurt. "

"Yeah, show frankenstien who's boss!" Bonnie added. James nodded in agreement. The animatronics, whom had now decided to make their presence known, came closer and drew the attention of the group gathered.

"You can't!" Haruka shrieked. "I won't let you hurt him! H-He may have done horrible things I didn't know about, but he's a good man; I know he is!" She took a deep breath. "I love him, no matter what. I'm not giving up on him, no matter how much it hurts." Chica frowned, glancing between her and the staff members.

"She's right," Fritz added. "I don't want anyone gettin' hurt, but we can't stoop to his level."

Thomas crossed his arms. "I take it you have a better idea then, Mr. Smith."

He thought for a moment, but simply shook his head.

Gilead turned to James. "Hey James, don't you have some kind of a spell or something you could use on him? Something to keep him away from us, maybe?"

He shook his head. "Not like what you're describing, no. I can control souls, but that's about it."

Gilead frowned and hung his head. "Oh…"

Reynard paced, his tail swishing behind him as he walked. "There's gotta be something."

"Well I agree with Thomas," Bonnie said. "Scrap him. He's a dangerous sicko."

Chica mumbled a quiet agreement along with an apology. James nodded readily. Gilead and Reynard exchanged glances before nodding as well. Bonnie looked to Freddy next.

He hesitated before saying, "No. We're not doing that."

Thomas raised an eyebrow. "And why not? I thought the six of you would be the most in favour of it."

"Dad, I heard him screaming last night. I was listening, and he sounded like he was scared. He was having some sort of nightmare, and kept saying Haruka's name. So I called you, hoping you could bring her to see him. I thought it would help."

Haruka's face brightened for a brief moment, only to fall once more.

"I forgive him," Freddy continued. "I know it's not easy to do, but we can't hold onto it forever. I think it's about time we all started recovering from the Missing Children Incident."

"What the hell?" Bonnie exclaimed.

"Language," James scolded.

He rolled his eyes and crossed his arms. "Whatever. But no way am I forgiving that… monster."

Haruka fought back tears yet again. Mike let go of Fritz and came to her side, offering an uneasy smile. She simply shook her head. His temporary optimism fled almost as fast as it came. He kicked at the ground and glanced at the animatronics with sympathy.

"Come on guys, this is for us," Freddy said.

"Uh, Freddy's got a point there," Anthony interjected.

"That's rich coming from you," James mumbled.

Anthony's shoulders tensed. "I mean it."

"Really, now? Why haven't you gotten over it, then?"

"Why haven't I? My best friend tried to kill me!"

James gave a snort of disgust. "Try actually being dead."

Fritz came between the two of them, watching to see if either would turn aggressive. "Settle down there; we aren't goin' to solve anythin' by fightin'."

Anthony nodded, letting himself relax some. "Sorry."

"Guys, forgiveness is about making peace for us," Freddy explained. "It doesn't mean you have to trust him again."

"The peace would be nice," Chica said.

Reynard smiled at her. "I'm with you on that one. I don't know how I feel about having Porfirio around, but I think the peace makes it worth trying."

Bonnie pouted.

Thomas sighed. "It's the best we've got, I suppose. Well, all those in favour of giving Porfirio a second chance, raise your hand." All but Bonnie rose a hand. Even Mike, James, and Anthony did, albeit with a moment of hesitation.

"You're against it, Bonnie?" Fritz asked.

He crossed his arms and tapped his foot on the floor. He snorted, rolled his eyes at him, and pivoted to avoid looking at him.

"Come on, Bon," Chica encouraged. "You don't have to like him. You just need to… be okay with being in the same building as him, that's all."

"He's a psychopath!"

"Actually, psychopaths doesn't feel remorse," Haruka piped in.

Bonnie looked over his shoulder at her. "Well, that just proves that I'm right."

"I know him better than you do. He's very nice, and he does actually feel remorse. He's hardly what I'd call charismatic, and he does usually follow laws. He just…" Haruka looked down. "didn't, I guess. I don't know why. I-I had no idea he was capable of… that."

The animatronic sighed.

Haruka wiped the tears that silently rolled down her cheeks. "H-He's not a bad person… right?"

"He seemed to believe he was in danger," Freddy explained. "I think he made a mistake; a terrible one, but just that. Mistakes don't make you a bad person."

Haruka nodded. She stared down at her stomach and frowned. "What am I supposed to do now…? H-He's a child murderer, but he's the father of my child..."

"You could raise the child yourself," Thomas said. "I took care Gilead and Freddy by myself for most of their lives while running a restaurant. It wasn't easy, but it was possible. And if you wish to do so, you're always welcome to see Porfirio, day or night."

"But should I?"

"Other than when he attacked me, he hasn't been dangerous from what I've been able to see," Anthony offered. "Maybe, because we know now, it won't happen again?"

"It'd better not," Thomas said. "If it did, he's gone. No if, ands, or buts."

Bonnie couldn't stay angry after hearing Thomas. He snickered and said, "He said butt."

Everyone groaned.

"Really, Bonnie?" said Chica. "Right now?"

Bonnie smirked. "Yup."

"Why?" she asked.

"Chicken thigh."

She gave him a curious look. "What?"

"Chicken butt." Bonnie burst out laughing.

"Hey, don't talk about my butt!" she shouted. "You're not allowed to do that!"

Turning to his brother, Freddy mumbled, "How mature of him."

"At least he seems happier now," Gilead interjected.

"That's true," his brother said.

Once the room had calmed some, Thomas asked, "So, Bonnie, how about it? Would you be willing to try living in the same building as Porfirio?"

"I guess," Bonnie said reluctantly.

"That settles it, then."

Haruka smiled, letting out a relieved sigh.

"I'm glad we s-sorted something out," Mike said.

Thomas nodded slightly. "I am, too."

"We should probably let him cool off for a bit first," Haruka said. "Trust me: it helps. A lot."

Freddy smiled. "I'll keep it in mind. Besides, giving him some space means we can discuss what the future for the restaurant will look like, now that so much has changed so quickly."

Porfirio sat with his back propped up against one of the arcade machines, his legs up to his chest and his head on top of his forearms, folded over his knees. It felt like a few hours had passed since he'd retreated to his room, but he couldn't be sure. He quite frankly didn't care, either. He already knew what they all thought of him already.

He then heard a knock on the door. Porfirio opened it a crack, poked his head out of the door frame, and said without bothering to look at who was on the other side, "Let's just be clear here, alright? I don't like you, and you don't like me. So go away."

Haruka frowned. "Please, love?"

"Oh, sorry. I was expecting someone else."

"Like who?"

"Anyone."

She sighed. "Can I come in?"

Porfirio pulled the door open and stepped aside to let her in. As she looked at the rotted arcade machines, cobwebs, spare parts, and other clutter from the older days of the company, he said, "Welcome to my humble lair. To your left, you'll see where I stare at the wall, and to your right is where Kowalski likes to hang out."

"This is where you're staying?" She walked farther into the room, examining the retired games. The dim light made it hard to read, but one of the titles said 'Fredbear's Big Adventure' in what used to be cheery red font. It had seen better days.

"Yup. They won't let me leave this room because they hate me."

Haruka brushed her fingers over the dusty, worn keys. "That's not true."

"Yes it is. You saw it."

She looked over to him. "We talked after you left, and almost all of them said they forgive you. Even Anthony. They're giving you another chance, so you can be in the restaurant like the rest of them."

Porfirio rolled his eyes. "Lovely."

"Reynard and Gilead said they'd be willing to give you a role in the new attraction they're going to be opening."

"Because putting me in front of kids is a great idea."

She frowned. "It took hours to convince them to give it a try, so you should be thankful."

He sighed, sitting down on the floor.

After some thought, Haruka sat him and took his hand, unsure of how to react to the cold metal and fur in place of the warm hand she was used to. "It'd be good for you to start feeling more comfortable with them. You're a dad now."

"I might have been a dad, but not now. I'm a bit dead."

"I still want you to be involved. The baby is ours, and we'll raise him or her together." She stroked his cheek, mindful of the tear that exposed the endoskeleton beneath. She had a soft look in her eyes.

Porfirio looked away, seemingly self-conscious of the damage extending from under his eye to the top of his mouth.

"We'll handle things as they come." She smiled. "We've been through a lot together"

"Not anymore."

Her face fell. "Excuse me?"

"What?" Porfirio met her eyes. "Haruka, you can't really want to be with me now that you know what I've done. Dead serial killers don't exactly make great boyfriends."

"It's hard," she confessed. "I still love you, but I don't know what to do about this. I know you may not see it about yourself, but I know you've got a good heart. I know what you did wasn't entirely your fault, either. They explained it to me." Kowalski wandered over and rubbed her cheek against her leg. "Also, last I checked, it takes someone with a soft heart to love a cat as much as you do."

He chuckled under his breath, stroking his pet. "I suppose."

"I do want to be with you, even now that I know this."

"So, we're together again?" Porfirio asked.

"Were we ever not?"

He shrugged. "Not for the time you thought I was gone."

Haruka smiled a little. "That's true. But, that's behind us now. We've got a lot to look forward to together."

"No kidding." He sighed, returning his gaze to her. "I know it's weird, but I really want to kiss you. Is that okay?"

Haruka couldn't hide her smile. He shuffled aside, got out of his suit, and gave her a quick kiss on the lips.

A light blush came to her cheeks. "I've missed you so much."

"I know." Porfirio hugged her, tracing the soft curve of her hip with his hand. Against all hope, he had her back. He even had a chance of reconciling with Anthony and possibly the animatronics as well. For once, things seemed to be improving for him, even if They said otherwise.

Maybe, with enough time, things at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza could be more like they used to be: a family that loved one another. No more secrets, no more lies, no more pain. With the truth finally brought to light, the only secrets they would be keeping would be the ones that kept the public oblivious. It brought a sense of relief to Porfirio that he hadn't felt in years. He dared to believe it could have even been joy.

AN: Thank you so much for reading my fanfic! This has taken me such a long time to write and develop, and now it's finally finished. I've grown so much as a writer over the course of this project, so I'd like to thank every one of you for your time, patience, and kind reviews. I can't begin to describe just how much it means to me to know that someone I've never met before is reading something I've written (and hopefully enjoyed as well).

Major kudos to my mom for being one of my beta readers and for encouraging me as I've worked on this. I'd like to thank Timeless Tragedy once again for being a great friend and beta reader. Without her, Mike would have never existed and this fanfic would have never been written.

As for future works, I've had many ideas I couldn't smoothly integrate into this fanfic, so I've been planning a sequel for What Happened In '87 Stays In '87. The ideas aren't fully fleshed out yet, but they're coming along. Keep an eye out for it! I've also been working on a Team Fortress 2 fanfic, so be sure to check that out as well if you're interested!

Once again, thank you for being awesome and being patient with my slow updates. Until next time!
