Welcome, readers, to Chapter 46 of Pokemon Unova Adventure! There will be no battling in this chapter, but relationships will be recognized, so expect a rather short chapter. Last chapter, Fate won her third and final ribbon, and now the group is in Humilau City for Owen's eighth and final gym badge! Now, let' get this chapter going!

"Are you sure you don't want to challenge the gym today? We don't have to take a day off," CJ offered. He knew Owen was amped up for his upcoming gym battle, and figured the younger trainer would want to earn his final gym badge in order to qualify for the Unova League.
"Nah, man. I kind of need this day to just step back from everything and relax. Besides, I don't have to get that badge for another two weeks, so I'm fine waiting," Owen replied maturely, which shocked CJ.
"Whatever you say," CJ told Owen before running into the ocean with Wotter. Leaf and Excalibur stayed on land, except Excalibur was digging several tunnels while Leaf sat under an umbrella. Owen and his six Pokemon were all sitting on their towels and trying to doze off, hoping they could rest up before the gym battle.
"You know, you might want to talk to them about your strategy or something," Fate suggested while laying out her towel and putting sunscreen on. She was wearing a two piece bikini that was pure white, which caught the attention of several boys at the beach.
"Good idea. And you might want to tell CJ your little secret," the resting teenager shot back, causing Fate to blush wildly. "I'm surprised he hasn't even noticed. It's so obvious," Owen continued, poking fun at his friend.
"Oh shut up," Fate said while laughing. Hez, Venom, Daisy, Angel, and Rose were all running about while Sawk was meditating by himself. "You know, I'm pretty sure I kissed him at the masquerade party," Fate whispered while watching CJ, Wotter, and Hez swimming in the water with Rebecca and her Oshawott. Owen shot up from his relaxed state at the information, and he took his sunglasses off his eyes.
"Really? I remember him telling me about some girl, but I didn't think it'd be you. Especially because he kept getting slapped the entire night."
"Haha. Yeah, I'm a hundred percent sure. I think I'm going to tell him today," Fate whispered again while a group of boys walked by and stared at her.
"Good for you. I think I'm speaking for everyone when I say it's about damn time," the amber eyed teen said while grinning. "Go get 'em, tiger," Owen said while Fate stood up and began walking towards the water. The girl gave him a thumbs up as she continued across the sand, receiving looks from even more boys.
"Owen, is that you?" a voice called. Owen turned to see Brooklyn walking over, and his haw dropped. She was wearing a red two piece and sunglasses, which made her look like a lifeguard. Then, she sat down next to him and the six Pokemon along with her Samurott. "How's the badge hunt going?"
"Great. I'm actually here for my eighth badge, but we're battling tomorrow," the dark blonde answered after sitting up. Snivy hopped onto his shoulder and waved to Brooklyn, who laughed and waved back at the Pokemon. "What about you? Did you get your three ribbons yet?"
"Yup. We're actually taking a break here for the next couple of days until the Grand Festival starts." The two remained silent for a brief moment before their conversation resumed.

"What are you doing out here, Fate? I thought you said you were going to tan all day," CJ told the younger teen after emerging from underwater. Before she could say anything, Fate was splashed by Empoleon, who ran into the water and began zipping around like a jet. Hez and the other water types were following Empoleon, and they all seemed to be enjoying their time off.
"Well, I figured I could still catch some sun and swim," the coordinator fibbed. CJ nodded at the response and dove underwater to see how long he could hold his breath, leaving Fate and Rebecca by themselves. "Rebecca, I need you to go away for a little bit," Fate told the twelve year old.
"Why? I want to swim!" she shot back before realizing what Fate was referring to. "Oooohhh… okay. Good luck, girl," she said to Fate before swimming back to shore, where her Deerling and Deino were waiting.
CJ reemerged from the deepwater and looked around for Rebecca, but only saw Fate.
"Where'd Rebecca go? She said she wanted to race me and Wotter." Fate shrugged and took a deep breath, trying to muster up any courage she could find. "Are you okay? You're breathing kinda weird."
"I'm fine. I just want to tell you something, something I've wanted to say for a while."

"Hey, Brooklyn," Rebecca greeted before drying her hair.
"Hi, Rebecca. How have you been?" Brooklyn asked politely. Her question was ignored, however, when Rebecca decided to walk away from her and Owen while smirking at the two. "Whatever. So the Unova League starts after the Grand Festival?"
"That's right. About three days," Owen informed the fellow blonde.
"Cool. I think I might have to watch that," Brooklyn stated aloud before laying down on her towel. Owen did the same and yawned tiredly, putting his sunglasses on to block the awful glare. A sudden black figure blocked the sun, causing Owen to sit back up. He was surprised to see what he did: CJ standing next to Fate with his arm placed on her shoulder.
"Hey, guys," CJ greeted with a stupid grin on his face. "Guess what?" he quizzed, waiting for Owen or Brooklyn to answer.
"Oh my god! No way!" Brooklyn squealed, which rang in Owen's ears, causing him to flinch. The blonde hopped up and began jumping up and down excitedly before hugging Fate. "Are you two… you know, a thing?"
"Yup," Fate said while hugging CJ, causing Owen to gag slightly. No one noticed, however, because Rebecca ran over screaming at the sight.
"Ohmygod! Ohmygod! Ohmygod! I can't believe it happened!" she screamed while hugging Fate. "It's about time!" Fate and CJ nodded at the statement while blushing slightly, and the rest of the day consisted of Fate and CJ gawking at each other while Rebecca and Brooklyn pester Fate with hundreds of questions. Owe, meanwhile, was busy talking to his six Pokemon.
"This is it, everyone. If we can win this battle, we're going to qualify for the league. Honestly, I don't know who's gonna battle tomorrow, but I know we can win! Are you ready for this?"
The Pokemon roared in response.
"Alright! Let's go win our eighth badge!"
Like I said, that was a REALLY short chapter. Next chapter will be part 1 of Owen's gym battle with Marlon, and I'm hoping I can finish both parts today and get to the Grand Festival. So, Fate and CJ are now together (I'll write that scene sometime soon), and Brooklyn randomly appeared! Till next time, peace out.
