Hey, all, welcome to Chapter 51, and the conclusion of the Grand Festival! Last chapter, Fate and Destiny battled in the semifinals, and Destiny prevailed, setting up a championship battle with Brooklyn. Who will win? Let's find out!

"Here we go. It all comes down to this, and I can't lose! I won't lose!" Brooklyn shouted. She was sitting in a chair near the tunnel, and a nervous look was plastered on her face.

"Do you think we should talk to her?" Rebecca whispered to the group while looking at Brooklyn, who was still whispering to herself. Owen and CJ looked at each other before shaking their heads, but Fate decided to walk over to her rival.

"Brooklyn, good luck out there. Destiny's really smart, so make sure to not fall into her traps," Fate advised wisely. Brooklyn's head snapped up and she nodded at her rival's advice.

"And remember," CJ started while walking towards the blonde, "make sure to keep her on her toes."

"Give it all you've got!" Rebecca chanted, causing Brooklyn to laugh.

"Thanks, guys. Owen, do you have any advice?" Brooklyn asked, waiting for the amber eyed boy to reply. Owen remained silent, but spoke up after a few seconds.

"I think you know what I'll say, so let's leave it at that," Owen stated mysteriously. CJ, Fate, and Rebecca looked at the powerful trainer with puzzled expressions, and they became even more confused when it looked like Brooklyn knew exactly what he meant.

"Finalists, please report to the stage!"

"I'm ready," Brooklyn said to herself before turning to walk down the tunnel. The other four teens looked at each other before walking out of the coordinator room and towards their seats, which were in the front row behind Brooklyn.

"This championship battle will be between Brooklyn and Destiny! The rules from the quarterfinals will still be used! Contestants, choose your two Pokemon!" Julia ordered while speaking into the microphone in her hand.

"Serperior, Darumaka, action!"

"Samurott, Galvantula, take the stage!"

"Begin!"

"Serperior, use your tail to throw Darumaka in the air! Darumaka, use Thrash on Samurott!" Darumaka hopped onto Serperior's back, and was launched through the air when Serperior threw his tail upwards. As Darumaka began to descend, she started to angrily throw her arms and legs around in a violent manner, but Brooklyn knew how to keep the fire type from striking Samurott.

"Galvantula, use Electroweb and stick Darumaka to the ceiling! Samurott, use a spinning Aqua Jet and Megahorn on Serperior!" Galvantula opened her mouth quickly and fired a large web covered in electricity, which stuck to Darumaka, and flew through the air before sticking to the roof. Destiny's points were lowered by an eighth, but the fifteen year old didn't pay attention. After that happened, Samurott covered himself in water and began to spin, which grabbed the attention of everyone in the audience.

"Burn the web with Fire Punch, and then use Flamethrower on Galvantula, Darumaka! Serperior, use Frenzy Plant to send Samurott flying!" Suddenly, the tip of Samurott's Aqua Jet began glowing white, which was where his horn was. As he charged towards Serperior, Darumaka put her flaming fist against the electrical web, which shocked her repeatedly. After fighting through the pain, Darumaka burned through the web and fell down towards Samurott and released a wave of fire at Galvantula. Serperior, meanwhile, slammed his tail against the ground, causing thirty humongous vines to shoot out of the crowd and whip Samurott into the air. As Samurott continued flying through the air, Galvantula was scorched by the powerful Flamethrower, which lowered Brooklyn's points by a sixth.

"Samurott, spin and land! Galvantula, use Bug Buzz on Serperior!" Samurott began spinning like a top before landing, which lowered Destiny's points slightly, giving Brooklyn a minuscule lead. Galvantula then slammed her front legs against the ground, sending a red wave of energy flying across the stage, which pulverized Serperior and sent him flying into the wall behind Destiny.

"Darumaka, I want you to take out that Galvantula," Destiny ordered after seeing the damage it had done to Serperior. Darumaka nodded at her trainer and began running towards Galvantula, which Brooklyn noticed right away.

"Sucker Punch!" she ordered as Darumaka hopped into the air. Galvantula's front left leg began glowing black, and she threw it at Darumaka, who reared her fist back in preparation of an attack.

"Fire Punch!" The tiny red Pokemon's fist was engulfed in flames, and the two attacks collided, causing an explosion to occur. Both Pokemon rolled across the battlefield due to the force of the explosion, and they remained motionless for several seconds.

"Galvantula and Darumaka are unable to battle!" Julia announced, causing the crowd to go into a frenzy. "Only twenty seconds remain!"

"Samurott, use Hydro Pump!" Brooklyn ordered frantically after seeing the ticking clock.

"Serperior, use Solarbeam!" Destiny countered. Serperior reared his head back and quickly generated an immense amount of solar energy. Both fully evolved starters fired their respective attacks, and they collided. The powerful moves cancelled each other out, and only seven seconds remained, prompting Brooklyn to issue another attack.

"This is it, Samurott! Use Megahorn!"

"Serperior, counter with Leaf Blade!" Both Pokemon charged towards each other as the clock continued to tick down, and they leaped into the air. Samurott's horn began to glow bright white while Serperior's tail began to glow bright green. The two attacks collided and an explosion occurred. BOOM! Both Samurott and Serperior were hurled across the stage, but they stood upright after their trainers called their names.

"Time!" Julia shouted, despite the smoke covering the stage.

Everyone waited anxiously, and the smoke slowly left the battlefield and revealed the scoreboard. The crowd gasped in shock, and Snivy frowned in disappointment as the intense contest finale ended. Owen, CJ, Rebecca, and Fate looked at each other after seeing the result, and they headed towards the coordinator room.

"Destiny is the winner!" Julia screamed. Destiny had only an eighth of her points left, while Brooklyn had a tenth. The blonde cursed under her breath and began to tear up before running off the stage with Samurott chasing after her. Destiny and her Serperior cackled at Brooklyn's reaction to losing before walking over to the judges and hoisting the trophy over their heads.

"I still can't believe I lost," Brooklyn muttered while sitting at a booth in the dining hall along with Fate, CJ, Rebecca, and Owen. "I was so close, too."

"Don't worry about it. The same thing happened to me… kind of," Owen told the blonde, who hung her head in shame. "Hey, at least the Unova League is starting!" Owen exclaimed, trying to cheer Brooklyn up.

"Yay," she replied unemotionally.

"You should stay and watch, Brooklyn, it's actually pretty fun," Fate suggested. "It's not as uptight as the contests."

"Yeah, you should stay!" Rebecca shouted. Brooklyn looked around at the four trainers before sighing and slumping in her chair.

"Fine," she mumbled. "But don't lose early. I want to enjoy this place without having to complete." Owen nodded at the order, and so did Snivy.

"Don't worry. We're going to win this thing!"

So there ya have it. Brooklyn lost to Destiny in a close match, and she's now staying with the group for the remainder of the Unova League! Next chapter will be the introduction to the league, and after that, the top 128 and 64 will be combined into one chapter. Till next time, peace out.
