AN: First off I know it's been like a month since the last chapter which is not my style at all, but the truth is this. For the first like week I had some writer's block and didn't write. Week two I found out that we were moving and I was preoccupied by a lot of different stuff. Week three, well, that's where we're at now. And we're still moving (it's an apartment nearby so we're moving everything ourselves without hiring movers, meaning it will take a lot longer than it should .). This means that updates for a while we be incredibly slow (just like this one) until I can get my funk back on. I apologize – personal life is hard.
So for the sake of pushing out an update, here's the first part of "Section 2." This plus the next chapter would have originally made the chapter I wanted to release at first, but it's been too long since I posted anything so I thought I should put it up anyways. Sorry if this wasn't what you were expecting but I didn't want to go on a hiatus break for a THIRD time.
To close off the author's note please vote for free-times since I didn't get a chance to write them today. (You can vote again to give your character an extra chance if you voted already. Just cause the votes I have tallied up aren't very colorful in that they're mostly ties xD) Also I didn't reply to everyone's reviews because of how I got around to posting this chapter (I wrote the first half but never got to write the second) so if I didn't reply to your review below, I apologize.
King Okami – Thanks for the review! Maybe Noah has more secrets than we think?
FourthMind – Lol, thanks for the review. Hope you enjoy!
Gingericus19 – Personally I didn't understand the whole thing either but some people were complaining about it, so I had to hit them hard. Anyways my decision on the dialogue tags were mostly because I thought it would flow better? I've seen in some books where if two people are having a dialogue and repeatedly talking to each other, they'd drop the dialogue, but I could add dialogue tags if that's better. I'll write it sorta like the last chapter for now and if it's still unpopular I'll add some more dialogue tags. And the "AN" thing is mostly habitual and I like the look of "AN." I'm weird yo, lol. Thanks for the review!
Reven228 – Thanks for the review! Glad you liked the throwback. Nice vote :D
Demigod39CluesFan – Thanks for the review! And yeah, ikr. :3
MizunashiFuyuko – A smutty fanfiction about a baseball player, yeeeeeah! (Okay I'll stop, :P) And yeah the man is the same. If you remember the man and Keiko didn't want to see each other anymore but because of the murder he had to check up on her as usual. Thanks for the review! Love the voting, keep it up :P
CartoonFanatic1 – You're surprised in a good way, right? I hope so, lol. Thanks for the review! We'll see what happened to Hikaru now!
Unify – Well frankly, Keiko was acting strange :O But hopefully she'll be able to keep the secret longer. We wouldn't want more despair. Thanks for the review and the votes!
Kizi1999 – Yaaay! He's back! Thanks for the review!
TheRoseShadow21 – Glad you noticed, it was sort of what I was going for :P Thanks for the review! (Also sorry about not leaving a review on your last chapter, never got the chance to.)
Ode 30 – Not sure but I'm sensing some sort of sourness. Sorry if your favorites got killed but it wouldn't be Danganronpa if a few favorites died. Thanks for the review and votes!
MiserableFairy13 – 11037 is like one of the most iconic things about Danganronpa, right? Thanks for the review! Glad you liked it!
Soundtrack: Re Despair Syndrome OST 2-26
"Dun, dun, dun, dun!" Monokuma cheered. "Lookie here, it's Hikaru, back from the dead!"
Hikaru shuffled his feet nervously, and averted his gaze from us. Of course I didn't blame him. The position he was in was too hard for me to imagine. Being killed and brought back to life, I'd be worried of how people saw me. Though of course, even as I thought this, I couldn't push aside this feeling of hypocrisy, as I was judging Hikaru by the second. Though to be frank, I wasn't sure how to judge him.
What did he look like? From what I remember...he looks completely unchanged. Nothing about him as changed at all. What Shougo said made sense, and I'm a little afraid for Hikaru. Did Monokuma do something to him? For now, it didn't look that way, but I'm sure Shougo still had his reservations.
"...So, Hikaru," Shougo started. "Did Monokuma really do nothing to you..?"
Hikaru didn't respond, and only looked ahead. His gaze was aloof. I could sense a careless stare shooting out of his eyes.
"W-we need to know..!" Unmei said, skittering through her words. "Please tell us what Monokuma did..."
"Hikaru?" Kaito asked. "Will you..?"
There was a brief pause, however, Hikaru spoke up after a few moments.
"I would say if I knew," Hikaru assured. "However, I'm not sure. I don't remember anything after the point from when...I supposedly died."
"Then perhaps we should ask the elephant in the room," Shougo said. "Monokuma, what did you do to him?"
"Whazzat mean?" Monokuma asked, tilting his head. "I only did what you all wanted. I brought back your precious buffer back from the dead. I don't really see what all this hostility is for."
"Why should we trust what you say..?" I asked. "I really doubt that you did nothing."
"Why should you guys trust what I say..?" Monokuma wondered, his gaze meeting mine. Particularly mine. "Because maybe I'm more trustworthy than you think. Who knows, maybe you can trust me better than some of your classmates."
"Don't be stupid," Mirai yelped. "I'd trust these guys over what you say, any day!"
My body grew a bit tense, since it was fairly obvious that Monokuma's comment was referring to me. I took a quick glance at Noah, but it didn't seem like he reacted to what Monokuma said at all. Instead, I could sense an aura of negativity from around Noah, and I noticed he was staring directly at Hikaru. What was his deal..?
"Well, that doesn't really matter to me," Hikaru said, speaking his mind. "As far as I can tell, I am completely normal and the same as before. So if you all would be so kind, I'd like to cease this conversation. It's a bit uncomfortable."
"But it's a valid conversation," Noah said, his voice stern. "What if Monokuma planted something in you..? Did he really do nothing..?"
"You're all just putting a bunch of crap down on me, huh?" Monokuma asked in a fake sadness. "Well...that's fine. I didn't expect much from you mean bastards anyways..."
"So you did do something..?" Kaito asked. "What was it, huh? Stick it to us good!"
"Whenever you say something, it always sounds strange," Unmei sighed. "Well, out with it Monokuma. We know you did something."
"This is getting really sad," Monokuma sighed. "Why would I want to touch that thing over there? It's freaking huge. If I got near it, it'd punch me out in a second."
"But I thought physical violence against you would violate the rules, anyways," Kaito noticed.
"Well, sure. But it's like saying you can stab yourself in the arm because you'd live anyways. It hurts like hell when it happens! I'm all about living in the moment, you see..!"
"So?" I asked. "Now that Hikaru is back...are you just going to let him go..?"
"Uh, duuuhhh," Monokuma sneered. "Why would I want to keep that blob of flesh in my hospital? Our funding for insurance has dropped 3%! We're getting into some financial straits, dude! Out of sight, out of mind."
"So...I'm free to leave?" Hikaru asked.
"That's what I just said, idiot. Jeez. Grow a freaking brain or something. Your head is big enough!"
"...Well then, I suppose I'll head back to my room to rest. I'd like to think about some things for a while."
"I shall be leaving too," Noah spoke up. "I need to do...some research on a few things."
"Wait a minute, but don'tcha want to see that website?" Yoshinori asked.
"The website..?" Hikaru asked.
"Yeah...Monokuma unlocked it for us."
"I see," he nodded. "Also, not to bring up a new topic so quickly, but...where is everyone..? "
"...About that," Noah said sullenly. "Everyone who is not here currently, is dead."
"...Excuse me..?"
"You heard me," Noah responded. "Takayashi and Ryoko were killed by Kirei and Furo respectively. Would you like to hear more..?"
Was it just me, or was Noah being a bit...brutal?
"...No, I believe I'm fine."
Despite Noah's comments, Hikaru's mood and words never reflected what I thought he'd be feeling. He really was mature, huh..?
"Then I'll see you later," Noah sighed, and he stormed out of the room, everyone eyes staring at him with confusion.
"Hikaru, what did you do to your waifu?" Monokuma asked.
"I don't know what you're talking about," Hikaru sighed. "I did nothing of the sort, and while I'd love to stay and chat, I feel tired out. So if I may..."
Hikaru walked calmly out of the room, to I assume his dorm room. The rest of us were left alone, unsure of what to do next.
"Hmph, those two are such a bore," Monokuma sighed. "They never have much things to say, so I can't really play with them."
"So...do you guys still wanna check out the website?" Yoshinori asked, shutting Monokuma out. "I got it with me, the web filter override code."
"We might as well," Unmei said. "I don't really want to wait another day, and we still have the time limit."
"Alright, so we'll just have to fill the others in later," Kaito said. "Then let's go back to the AV room."
AN: It cuts off here. The next chapter will be the next part of "Section 2" so when I get to write the next part I may either ninja edit it or just post it as a different chapter.
Again, I'm sorry. Hopefully when spring break comes I can write more.
(Well, "spring break." Because of all the snow days our break is only four days now. *cries*)
