AN: I have no excuse as to why this chapter came out so late. I apologize greatly. I've been having a lack of motivation lately that isn't anyone's fault but myself, and I hope I can get back into the groove soon. With that said, if anyone was worried, I don't plan on dropping this story or stopping. This story will 100% be finished, guaranteed, eventually. I have no idea when though, at this pace, lol.

I guess I'm just getting into other hobbies now that the summer started. It's hard to balance an addiction of anime, XBOX, vacations, and writing at the same time as they are all equally sort of time consuming. I'm going to try and focus my attention on this for the time being, because personally I want to finish this story and get to the point where I can say that I'm satisfied. But with my attention deficiency it's really difficult to focus at one thing at a time, lol.

Reven228 – Thanks! I tried.

Soundtrack: Monokuma Sensei's Lesson

"So..." Monokuma asked creepily from the center of the room. "Which one of you did it?"

"Did what?" I asked.

"Whoever did it knows what I'm talking about! It's something terrible! Treason!"

I tilted my head over to Noah. His face was expressionless, but that didn't really matter. I think I knew what was going on.

"So...what exactly are you asking us?" I asked again.

"I need one of you bastards to be kind and honest...Where the heck did you put it?!"

"Put what?" Noah asked, his voice blunt.

"Oh...you are the one who should really know what I'm talking about," Monokuma growled. "I gave you permission to read those files, but I never gave you permission to throw all that shit away! But being the kind headmaster that I am, I decided to give you the benefit of doubting everyone else in this room."

Monokuma began to move his little legs and trotted closer to each one of us.

"Perhaps it was one of you who threw it away? It didn't have to be my feisty policeman over here."

"Couldn't you just find out who did it through security footage?" Shougo asked.

"No, because Hikaru over here decided he wanted to ask me a question that was totally irrelevant to whatever was going on around here!"

"Um, well, then shouldn't he be your main suspect?" Yoshinori asked.

"You sure are dumb for a robot. If Hikaru was talking to me, how would he have thrown away the files..?"

"Wait, what are these files that you're talking about..?" Unmei asked.

Monokuma briefly glanced at Unmei, and a smile began to creep around his face. I could tell that an idea had just popped up in his polyester brain.

"I could tell you now if I want," Monokuma giggled, "but that wouldn't be a very fair incentive, now would it?"

"Are you giving us another motive..?" Mirai asked, frowning.

"Not particularly," Monokuma said. "I mean, I already gave you one motive, but this other incentive per say doesn't apply to all of you!"

"Most of your motives didn't," I said. "What makes this one different..?"

Monokuma tilted his head. "Whaaat? You think the motives that I provided adhered to a certain individual? That's blasphemy! Magic! Witchcraft! Each motive was made with the intention that it would appeal to everyone at once! Perhaps it was just coincidence that Rhyssa baby had a sugar daddy outside of her school life. Doesn't really matter to me. That horror movie influenced everyone else the same amount, just as it intended to."

"Meaning that this motive is different?"

"Indeed," he replied. "The first motive, in case you didn't know, was trapping you all here in this hot and humid dome over here. You can't leave this place, you know? We're closing all methods of transportation. The first and second dome? Off-limits."

"So...what's the second motive?" I asked.

"A certain individual should be able to tell," Monokuma chuckled. "I'm so salty, I'm aiming my motive at an actual person, yeah?"

"Who...are you targeting, exactly?" Mirai asked, his voice strained.

Monokuma let out another evil laugh. The air that was once peaceful would soon dissipitate because of what happened next. Monokuma raised his arm, and pointed straight at the man who spent most of his time looking at a stack of papers.

"It's Noah-baby!" Monokuma laughed. "Yeah, you all better watch out when you're around him now, huh?"

"Then your second motive..." Noah said, his voice suddenly cringing... "It's that, isn't it?"

"Perhaps I'd be willing to reveal the contents of the files all over the world, how's that?" Monokuma asked. "It's like a twisted homage to a couple motives I did before, but that's not important. You could figure that out by yourself."

"What good would that do?" Noah asked, his voice getting slightly panicked. He was struggling to maintain his composure.

"Is it that personal to you?" Monokuma asked. "You're not really helping your case! I guess when someone else dies, we all know who our main suspect will be!"

I could feel Noah's temper rising from the other side of the room. I saw him reading the files at the beach...but were they really that important to him?

"...I'll destroy you, bear," Noah said, under his breath. He laughed a little, confident in his ability to repel insanity. "I'll make sure of it."

"I might just wet my fur!" mocked Monokuma. "There is no reason for me to be threatened by you, right? There's no way in hell you're going to kill me! It's not possible."

"Don't misplace your confidence," Noah snapped.

"No confidence being misplaced here," Monokuma chuckled. "I assure you, this time, it'll be impossible to kill me."

This time..?

"W-what's going on, exactly..?" Shougo asked.

"Figure it out yourself," Kaito said. "Something's going on between Noah and Monokuma..!"

...Were they involved with each other in the past..? Is that the gist of what was in the file?

"No, it's not that..." Noah responded to Kaito, his voice shaking a bit. "It has nothing to do with that bear. But it's something I have to keep to myself..."

"Then someone has to die in the next day or two," Monokuma laughed deviously. "What's wrong, Noah? Did you not think of your plan enough? Now someone has to die, or I'll purge the pride right out of you!"

Noah clenched his fists. At that moment, I could feel the days of the beach fading away. It was no longer happy around us, and that was something I expected. I was just dreading the moment when Monokuma would finally pull the trigger.

Noah closed his eyes, and began to turn away. "You...you should all stay away from me," he said to the rest of us.

"W-wait, Noah, what's going on?" Unmei asked, her quivered voice clearly nervous. "Are you hiding something from us?"

He didn't say anything. In a blink of the eye, Noah sprinted away from us. Avoiding us, leaving a feeling of tension in the air. Unsure of what Noah was going to do next, we all had to just wait there with halted breaths.

"Well, I think I pissed him off good enough," Monokuma sighed in relief. "I think maybe we could see a dead body or two in the next couple of days, but you never know. Noah's a pretty mellow dude. Maybe he won't care whether or not that important secret of his is shown to the world."

"Why are you just attacking him though..?" I asked.

"I did say that, didn't I?" Monokuma asked. "Well, that's because I need to knock some people out, and I just got lazy. Besides, hopefully, this heat could branch out to the rest of you..!"

"Alright, that's enough," Hikaru snapped.

"Don't try and scare me, prison boy," Monokuma said. "I'll throw your soap on the ground if I have to."

Ignoring Monokuma's quips, I turned to Mirai.

"Mirai," I said, "W-we should go find Noah..."

"Right," he said. "So we can comfort him...or something."

"You'd better be careful around him!" Monokuma chuckled. "You don't know what his past was like! It could influence him to do something as bad as murder, you know?"

"I have one question for you," I said, my back turned against him. "Is what he did so bad..? Why does it concern you? You're basically pinning the entire next murder on him."

"But then...I'm sure Noah will take advantage of that," Unmei piped up. "He really wouldn't kill anyone, would he?"

"He's not like some of you other peasants," Monokuma said. "Unlike someone among the caliber of Kirei or Furo, he's not an ordinary person. He got into the police business as a teenager – what do you think that has done to him? He's capable of taking a life without restriction. You bastards had best remember that..!"

With a final "upupu," Monokuma disappeared from thin air as the rest of us stared at each other. The mood all around us was incredibly tense. Was Noah really that unpredictable..?

"W-we should go find Noah," Mirai repeated. "C'mon..."

I nodded, and I ran off with Mirai.

"Wait, is that really a good idea..?!" I heard Unmei ask. "You don't even know if he's going to do anything!"

My mind was really blank though. I don't know if it is a good idea, but I already essentially killed two people here. I wasn't going to let anyone else die if I could help it.

Location: Boardwalk | Time: 10:28 PM | Chapter Four | 20 DAYS LEFT

Mirai and I had searched across the entire dome in pursuit of Noah. Unfortunately, it wasn't that easy to find him, despite the dome not even being that big. No one followed us – they all agreed it was a good idea to give Noah some space, but I wanted to talk to him. I wanted to find out about that file as well.

Eventually, we tracked him down, as I saw a figure at the edge of the boardwalk. We wandered into the boardwalk, where the heat was as invading as it always was, and saw Noah at the edge of the wooden walkway.

"N-Noah," I called out. "Are you okay..?"

No response. He was sitting rightside up at the edge of the pier, looking at the glass wall that faced him.

"Do you think he's okay, Master..?" Mirai asked quietly.

I gave no answer as I walked slowly towards Noah. Sweat trickled down my face, dripping like a broken faucet as the heat penetrated me little by little. My heart was beginning to pound for some reason, slowly thumping, invading my comfort zone.

Why am I so nervous..?

Badump. Badump. Badump.

I could feel my heart beating a little bit more as I stepped closer and closer to Noah.

Closer... Closer...

"Noah..?" I asked, approaching from behind him. Soon I reached an appropriate distance, standing over him. He was sitting straight up, but making no notion to acknowledge I was even there. His breaths were small, and somewhat panicked. I could tell that the incident with Monokuma took a toll on him. "Are you okay..?"

"Maybe we should leave him alone..." Mirai said from the otherside of the boardwalk. "He seems like he wants to be left alone..!"

Noah didn't say anything, but gasped a bit as he shook his head violently.

I turned to Mirai. "See? He needs help right now. He wants help right now."

I took a deep breath and forced a smile on my face. "C'mon, Noah, let's talk about this."

I placed my hand on Noah's shoulder, and began to shake him gently, and it wasn't long before I realized that something was wrong. His hand slowly reached for my arm, and he clenched it tightly as his body lurched backwards. Now lying down, I could see clear as day. There was a knife lodged into him.

Soundtrack: Monokuma's Extracurricular Lesson

"N-Noah!" I gasped. "Mirai, come help!"

Mirai ran over, and his eyes widened. "W-what happened..?"

"What the hell do you think..?!" Noah said, struggling to get his words out. "G-get me to the infirmary..!"

"Ugu?" Monokuma yawned as he appeared from behind us. "There is no infirmary in this dome...You should know that."

"You're not just going to let him die, are you?!" I yelled.

"Now that's a stupid question," Monokuma said. "I'm a cute bear, but there's one thing I hate more than kids and my little sister."

"What's that..?" Mirai asked.

"Well, saving lives is one of them," Monokuma said. "I just hate giving people relief. I like it when people suffer. Suffering is good!"

I clenched my teeth and gave it my all to contain my temper.

"M-Mirai, get the others..! We can save him..!"

Noah clutched at the knife wound, letting out short breaths and gasps.

"Let's see here..." Monokuma observed. "The knife wound seems to be located on his lower abdomen...it's not a particularly dangerous place to be injured, and there's a good chance of -"

"Will you shut up?!" I snapped.

Five minutes passed of me giving Noah moral support, and Mirai came running back with the others. In Mirai's hand was a clump of towels that he got from outside of the wave pool, which I assume he brought to stop the bleeding.

"I-is he okay?!" Unmei asked panicked.

"Who did this..?" Kaito asked. "And so soon after Monokuma's announcement..!"

"Speaking of which, he's right here again," Yoshinori growled.

"I just want to watch as the fed here kicks the bucket," Monokuma said. "Unless you guys manage to save him, which actually is pretty -"

"I said shut up," I repeated. Mirai walked towards Noah and slowly removed the knife. Noah clenched as Mirai tossed the knife aside, and pressed towels against his chest.

"I think this is how it works..." Mirai said.

"You can't just press down towels and hope it stops the bleeding," Noah said, clenching his teeth. "It doesn't work like that..!"

"It's the best we got," Mirai said. "Monokuma won't let us do anything else."

"There's truth in that statement," Monokuma replied. "You see, I decided if Noah dies right now, we might be able to hold a class trial, so it's in my best interest not to give him some of my spare blood."

"He needs a blood transfusion?" Yoshinori asked. "Um, is there anyway we can do that without any special tools or somethin'?"

"Of course not..!" Noah clenched.

Mirai took some of the towels he brought and strung them together, wrapping them around Noah's chest.

"How do you know how to do all this..?" I asked Mirai as he performed on Noah.

"I...don't know," Mirai said, biting his finger. "But that doesn't really matter right now. We should leave Noah here to lie down and rest."

"Isn't there a better place for him to recover..?" Hikaru asked.

"Not really," Mirai said. "We could make him a little pillow out of towels, but this is probably as comfy as Noah could get right now."

Noah sighed, and clutched at his chest.

"I'll stay with him," said Mirai again. "I'll guard him and wrap more towels around him when it's necessary."

"Of course, there's no guarantee that Noah will live after all," Monokuma said. "...Upupupu..."

Noah's eyes were squeezed shut, sweat dripping from his forehead. Who could have done something like this..?

"Anyways, you guys can run off now," Monokuma said. "There's really nothing else to see. If he dies, you'll just hear my announcement anyways. Upupupu!"

Monokuma disappeared once again, leaving us alone, and vulnerable.

"Hey, Noah," Mirai said, sitting down with his arms around his legs. "Did someone attack you..?"

Noah nodded painfully.

Mirai's head tilted. "Oh."

"What is it..?" Noah asked, his voice straining.

"Nothing," Mirai said, his voice somewhat distant. "Then...who was it?"

Noah didn't make any movement, but there was no hesitation surrounding him. Noah used his voice to pinpoint his attacker, instead of a segment of dramatic buildup where the victim ends up pointing his finger at someone, ace attorney style. It was just pure hatrid that left his voice. It was clear that there was resentment.

"Hikaru. He attacked me."

AN: Okay, so this was slightly worth the wait. I will try to make my updates go faster, but don't get your hopes up. Once again, I apologize. I do acknowledge that the quality of the story is dipping. Shorter chapters, confusing exposition, and longer updates, and it's sort of not worth it to follow this at times. So yeah, I do hope that you guys can forgive me. As for the next chapter, I HOPE to go back to a weekly schedule, but like I said, you shouldn't hold your breath on this. It'll be some sort of a miracle if I can get back into the stage of writing daily chapters.
