A body...has been found? But we had just gone to find swimsuits for each other...and Monokuma had just given us our motive hours before. How did someone get murdered already?! What's going on..? Rushing out of the bathhouse, I ran over to the boardwalk. That seemed to be the most likely place to find a body.
I had to hurry. I had to see for myself..! Which one of us got killed? And why did we get killed?!
Finally, I reached my point of destination. And entering the boardwalk, I saw...

Mirai was lying face flat on the floor.
...Oh, but he's not dead. Thank goodness...
Barging in through the entrance, I ran to Mirai's side and tried to shake him awake. The hot wind was running across my face as I looked at Mirai's shivering body.
"M-Mirai, what happened..?" I asked.
Soundtrack: Monokuma Sensei's Lesson
"What happened?" Monokuma asked. "Well you see, something happened to Mirai, and now he's on the floor."
"That's not what I mean!" I yelled.
"M-Master..?"
"Oh, well, he's up and running again," Monokuma laughed. "I guess the power of love will do that..!"
Ignoring the irritating bear, I looked at Mirai's face. It was extremely pale and flushed, and sweat was streaming down his face.
"I-It was in an instant, but the heat got too much for me to bear that I blacked out," he explained, as I was wiping the the sweat from his face with the towels he brought. "Honestly... I really don't know what happened."
I turned and looked at Monokuma with a demonic gaze.
"You didn't mess with the heat, did you?"
"Of course not!" Monokuma snapped, sounding quite shocked. "It's against the rules and my general morals to kill the attendees of this awful school."
"Then...what happened with the heat..?" I asked.
"T-that's not important right now, is it..?" Mirai asked. "I heard the corpse discovery announcement...who was the one that was killed?"
"Well, you'll just have to find out yourself, won't you?" Monokuma asked. "Upupupu, you might have to search all night just to find the body, but by then, the class trial would have already started!"
"So where's the body?!" I demanded.
"That question is completely counter-intuitive to what I just said!" Monokuma snapped. "But since I'm such a wonderful headmaster, you might want to look in the wave pool. Maybe. Upu."
Monokuma disappeared in an instant, leaving Mirai and I alone.
"The wave pool..?" I asked to myself. "Why would someone be in there..? We agreed we'd meet up at the entrance."
"W-well, he could have been talking about the entrance, you know..."
"I guess, but it's still sort of strange..."
...Am...I forgetting something..?
"Wait a minute," I gasped. "Where's Noah?"
"Oh, him? He's probably somewhere around the dome."
"He has a damn knife wound, and you let him go somewhere across the dome?!" I asked shocked.
"S-sorry..!" Mirai cried. "I mean, it was probably around when I blacked out..!"
I clicked my tongue, and dragged Mirai to a standing position. "C'mon, we need to go to the wave pool."
"O-okay..."
Fear had crept into my heart. With how Mirai reacted...maybe it wasn't just one death that happened.

"H-how could this happen..?" I said in shock. I could feel my body sinking lower and lower to the ground, until I was on my hands and knees. "F-for a murder to happen this quickly..!"

"Upupupupu!" Monokuma laughed. "Another murder..! Sure gets your blood pumping, doesn't it?"
"No, it does not!" I screamed. "W-who would kill Kaito?! Why him..?"
"That's for the investigation, silly," Monokuma chuckled. "Besides. The concept of death isn't new to you, is it? Why so serious?"
I glared at Monokuma. Did he just reference that one time..?
"M-Master..?"
"Anyways, I notified the others that our ugly little corpse could be located at the wave pool. Obviously, I lifted the pool's security system, so you can walk in without worrying about electrocution or anything."
"Well, thanks so much for your kindness," I grouched.
"No problem!" Monokuma said, his voice filled with glee. It was an awful thing to be excited about murder, but Monokuma was the symbol of pure horror.
"Oh, and because I don't want to come back, I'll just send out all the copies of the Monokuma File to your ElectroIDs, okay?"
The ElectroID in my pocket began to buzz. Honestly, I forgot about that thing, but it was still here. And as I turned it on, the Monokuma File was waiting for me.
"Okay, now have fun! Let's make this class trial the best one so far!"
After that horrible statement, Monokuma had up and vanished.
It took a good amount of time for the others to arrive, and they were all just as shocked as the others. Particularly, we were all surprised that Kaito was the one to get killed...why would someone have done something like this..? Why did it have to be Kaito?!
"Damn it..!" I cried, punching the glass wall.
"I-I've been pretty horrible to him..." Unmei said sadly. "...Damn..."
"This is all something we've done before, right..?" Shougo said, clearly nervous. "We can do it again... We'll just have to find Kaito's murderer and avenge his death."
"Right on," Yoshinori said. "C'mon, we still have some time before the trial. We need to figure out as much as we can!"
And with that, we all began to disperse. It was time for our fourth investigation, and that would soon lead to our next class trial.

YOSHINORI: It probably took the bear around fifteen minutes to be a little bitch, and then Noah fled.
KEIKO: The attacker had to have found Noah in fifteen minutes since we dispersed, and that's after searching for the knife in the store here.
YOSHINORI: Fifteen minutes sounds like a reasonable time for a stabbing though...
KEIKO: I don't know. I'm just not buying it. Unless the attacker got pretty lucky in locating Noah...
YOSHINORI: Well, what makes you think the target was Noah?
KEIKO: Who else could it be? He's the one who ran off to do whatever.
YOSHINORI: ...Guess you're right. So what? The stabbing had to have happened that way.

MIRAI: The motive?
KEIKO: The files, to be more specific. Why the heck was Noah so obsessed with the files?
MIRAI: I wonder if Hikaru had anything to do with it...
KEIKO: Hikaru?
MIRAI: I mean, Noah was blatantly accusing Hikaru of his attack. It's sort of obvious that there's bad blood between them.
MIRAI: Guess we'll have to find out at the trial.
KEIKO: ...Yeah.

"With the blowing wind...comes a nice gentle serenity. A pitch black calmness that can only be described as peace...I'm just making up shit as I go in honor of our victim this time. Now let's head on down to the entrance lobby! We need to get this trial rolling!"
"The investigation is over already, huh..?" Mirai sighed.
"Do you have a good feeling about this trial..?" I asked him.
"I don't know, to be honest. There were lots of vague spots during the investigation. I feel like we need more concrete evidence..."
"Well, those might pop up in the trial."
"I guess..."
"Let's head on to the lobby then."
Mirai nodded, and the two of us headed to the lobby.

"I'm sort of sleepy," Monokuma yawned, as we rode in the submarine to our next courthouse. "I need some mocha hot cocoa."
"I could make some for you if y'all -"
"Keep your damn arms on the wheel, you freak of nature."
Meowykins shuddered and looked straight forward, as the familiar sense of dread that had accompanied us throughout the class trials finally settled. Kaito...why was it him that died? Was it just a coincidence, or...
And what was with the bad blood between Hikaru and Noah? I feel like the motive had something to do with that...
As I pondered these thoughts, Mirai looked at me with a worried expression.
"I said I'd tell you after the trial," I said, reading his mind.
Mirai nodded, and buried his face in his scarf, twiddling with his thumbs. After what felt like an eternity, we finally arrived, submerging at the surface again and arriving at a strange amusement park.
A roller coaster was running in the background, with a large titanium robot riding the front row.
"Welcome to the amusement park of justice!" Monokuma exclaimed. "We are here today to discuss the death of Kaito Aikami! Now, let's begin!"
The seats had already been set up in the plaza, and as we stood beneath them, I stared at the students remaining. There were only us eight left...and after this trial, seven. Our numbers were dwindling. I know I should be thinking about the trial, but still...I can't shake this feeling that we might not ever escape our current situation.
Despite this, I have to live on for now. I'll have to find out...who exactly killed Kaito.

AN: I did rush a bit. But hopefully that's okay...I want to jump straight into the class trial and perhaps get into the climax of the story.
