I OWN NOTHING! Well, except for the story. Have fun reading!

Annabeth was getting her stuff from her locker when someone hugged her from behind.

"Seaweed brain, too much PDA don't you think?" Annabeth said as she smiled at his sweet gesture.

"Too much? Really now, Wise girl?" Percy said as he loosens up his arms so that Annabeth can turn to face him. He gave his girlfriend a big cheesy smile.

"Don't give me that smile, Percy." She said as she cuddled with him.

"Ehem."

Both of them turned to look at Thalia and Nico.

"Ugh, I think I might throw up." Thalia said as she mocked Percy and Annabeth.

"Shut up, Thals." Annabeth closed her locker and held hands with Percy as they headed out of school.

"So, what are we doing tonight?" Thalia said as she put her arm on Annabeth's shoulder.

"We" Percy pointed to him and Annabeth, "are going out for dinner. And you" he pointed to Thalia, "will be staying at home. Or unless you want to go out with Luke, whatever."

Thalia punched Percy's right arm. "Whatever Kelp head. We'll find something to do." Thalia grabbed Nico's arm in which Nico was caught off guard but did nothing to remove Thalia's grip.

"Yeah. Yeah. Well, we'll see you Sunday." Annabeth said as she snuggled closer to Percy.

"Sunday?" Nico asked.

"Yup! It's the twins' birthday. Dad said to invite all of you to come. It's just a small celebration for Matthew and Bobby."

"Oh. Okay." Nico said as he removed Thalia's hand on his arm.

"Sure! As long as you and kelp head over there won't be too lovey dovey." Thalia said as she rolled her eyes when Percy sticks his tongue out to her.

"What time's the party?" Thalia asked.

"You guys can come around three thrity-ish. "

"Okay. Well," Thalia stopped in front of a pizza parlor "this is me. Luke lost on our bet so he's paying dinner."

"What was the bet about?" Asked Percy.

"That Mr. D would totally lose it if he found out that all of his wine collection was drunk by the school board during their meeting." Thalia said as she gave Annabeth a hug. "Luke said he'll be cool with it since he's got tons more stored in his basement. That sore loser."

"Well, see you Thals." Said Annabeth. Percy nodded and Nico just looked at Thalia.

"Annabeth!"

"Yes, dad?" Annabeth was lying on her bed reading Tips for Future Architecture. She was in her grey tank and blue short shorts with blue socks with pink polka dots. She stood up and opened her door. She saw her Dad, Stepmom and the twins were all dressed, like they were heading out to a fancy dinner at a class A restaurant.

"Aren't you getting ready?" Her dad asked her while her stepmom was fixing his tie.

Annabeth looked puzzled. "Ready? For what?"

"Annabeth, it's our company's anniversary and we're supposed to all go since I'll be one of the speakers there." Her dad sighed as he looked at her, exasperated.

"Oh! Right! Sorry, dad I totally forgot about that. It's just that I have a lot of homework to do. I'm sorry."

Her dad went closer to her, "Annie, this is an important celebration. We all have to be there." His dad looked at her and there was something in the way that Annabeth's dad look on her made her all guilty and finally gave in.

"Fine! But I really have to finish this chapter for by term paper due on Monday, okay? I'll probably catch up with you."

"Annie."

"Please dad. Please!" Annabeth looked at her dad with pleading eyes, to which he can't resist.

"Okay. Okay. But! You have to take Percy with you. I am not letting my little girl go to the Upper East side by her own."

Annabeth grinned and hugged his dad. "Thanks dad! I'll see you in a few!"

Her family started walking out the door but just before his dad closed it, he looked at Annabeth and smiled. "Call me when you're leaving."

Annabeth nodded and her dad locked the door.

She was so excited, not just because her relationship with her dad is getting better but the fact that her dad asked her to invite Percy to the celebration made her all giddy inside. She went to the phone and called Percy, a big grin plastered on her face.

On the second ring, Percy answered.

"Hey, Annabeth."

"Do you have a tux?"

"A wha—"

"Or anything formal?"

Percy laughed at the tone of her voice. Clearly, Annabeth can't contain her excitement.

"Why are you so excited, Wise girl?"

"Because, Seaweed brain, you and I are going to a party tonight."

"A party? For who? And where?"

"The company my dad works for is having a celebration for their anniversary over at the Upper East side and he wanted you to come."

"Really? Why?"

"Well, mainly because he wants me to get there safe and he knows the one person to trust my safety."

Annabeth can feel Percy smiles on the other line and she herself can't contain it either.

"So, Seaweed brain, you comin' or not?"

"I'll be there in 20"

Annabeth was in the living room, sitting on the couch—reading, while she waits for Percy. She stopped half way through the page when she felt something weird in her stomach. She stood up and went inside the bathroom. She looked at her reflection in the mirror and she saw a girl with loose blonde curls, wearing a floor-length silver dress with a golden belt that accented her curves. She looked at herself, not believing that a girl like her can be as lucky as she is now when her past is as screwed up as anyone else's.

While re-applying her lipstick she heard a knock on their door. She smiled, knowing that on that other side of the door is the person who kept her hanging on and moving forward from her dark past. Before opening the door, she quickly took a glance at herself in the mirror beside the coat rack. She took a breath in and opened the door.

A boy, whom she hoped and wished that will be gone for the rest of her life was standing just a few inches from her. She wanted to scream, shut the door and lock it, or call the police but instead she was there, unable to move an inch, staring at the person who wrecked her life.

"Hey Annie. Going somewhere?"

She saw him smile wickedly and before she knew it, she felt a sharp pain on her head and stomach and saw nothing but darkness.
