Uncle Rick owns the characters while I own the story.

ENJOYYYY! :D

It was dark—very dark. I tried to look everywhere but there was no light. I was sitting at something that seemed to be like a bench. I stood up and took a step forward, hoping not to trip or anything. I am dead scared; No, not scared but more like terrified. What's happening?

"Wise girl?"

I heard a voice called my name. I tried to look where it was coming from.

"Hey, wise girl, come on! You know you're smarter than that."

That familiar voice, I heard it called me again; that very voice that I'd want to hear every day. Where is it coming from?

"Hello?" I said hoping he'd answer back, but there was no response—nothing.

From a far, I saw a light. It was so small that it looked like it was shining through a small hole from the wall. I ran towards it. I ran as fast as I could and when I reached the spot, it was a door. Finally, I can get of this place. I held the doorknob—took a deep breath, and opened it.

To my horror, it was…

"Hey Annie."

"Hmp!"

Wait, what's this? Why am I tied up? Why is there a handkerchief tied in my mouth? Where am I?

Annabeth tried to break free from her situation but unfortunately, every time she pulled her hand, her wrist started to burn. She was sitting in a dark room with only the moon's light shone for her to see that she was in an empty room filled with her pictures with red "x" marks on them; including pictures with her family, friends and Percy.

As she tried to get free, the door opened and came in a tall, dark shadow. Annabeth looked at him in horror. If she could speak right now, she had a numerous curses she could shout at him.

"Don't try to do that, Annie, you'll just end up with a bloody wrist." Dean said as he moved closer to her.

"Hmpf!"

"Oh, now now. Don't waste your energy on speaking. That's why I covered your mouth to make your death… quieter."

Annabeth was holding her tears back as she stopped herself from yanking her hands free.

Why, Dean? Why are you doing this? Why did you come back? Why?

She wanted to ask her those questions and to her surprise, Dean looked at her like he understood what she was thinking.

"You know why I'm here, Annie."

Annabeth shook her head.

"Oh, come on. Don't play dumb. That is not the Annie I know."

Dean stepped closer and his face was shone through the moon light that slid through the window. Annabeth looked at him with much horror.

His face was very different from the Dean he knew when they were kids. He looks deeply disturbed, like he hasn't sleep in over 3 months. He has dark circles below his eyes, his cheeks were thinner that you can see a line in them showing like he hasn't eaten in months. His eyes, the eyes that looked at her adoringly when they were little, now looked like he lost his sanity.

Everything that Annabeth remember about Dean has been disrupted by his demented look.

He is not the Dean that I used to love as a friend. He's a monster.

Annabeth's eyes started to sting and tears began to fall from her eyes.

"Aww, don't cry my dearest Annie. I promise you that you won't feel a thing."

He smiled wickedly and then turned his back on her. Just as he was about to leave the room, he stopped and turned to look at her.

"Of course, promises are meant to be broken."

He laughed at her and went to close the door.

She was scared-beyond scared. She was feared for her dear life. She needs to get out of here. She needs to find a way to escape. She needs to get back to her family. She needs Percy. She needs him right now.

It was the usual late night routine for Nico. Go to bed, sleep then wake up in the middle of the night then eat. To most people, it's really weird to have that habit but for Nico, it's quite normal. As he chew on some leftover pizza, he was startled by a loud bang coming from the door.

"Who in Hades name could be banging on our door in 1 in the morning?!" He opened the door and was startled by a very frantic Percy.

"Perce-"

"No time. Nico, I need your help. It's about Annabeth and Dean."

"Nico didn't hesitate one bit and let him in. Percy was a bit shaky. His hair was slightly messy than his usual messy look. He looked like he came from a formal party but he doubt that he even made it to the said party. Percy looked at him with wild but pleading eyes.

"Tell me everything."

Nico looked at him. It's now or never.

"A couple of years back, there was an incident that went on the neighborhood I used to stay during summer. There was a girl that was pushed from their balcony by her boy playmate. Rumors said that the boy had a mental problem and became totally obessed and possessive to his girl friend. He threatened every person who came to play with her until they grew up.

"That night, he came by her house for a talk with her. He forced her and somehow went overboard and well, let's say things got out of hand.

"He wanted her all to himself and he became physical with her. They said Annabeth tried to escape and shout for help but she got hit by the head and fell down the balcony."

Percy just looked at him mortified as Nico continued.

"I came by their house as I went home and saw medics taking the girl, shall I say, Annabeth to the craddle and into the ambulance. The boy, Dean, was escorted out by big guys trying to prevent him from kicking and screaming. He was yelling Annabeth's name.

"All I heard after that was the boy was detained in an asylum. People said their family already has a case of mental disorientation. And the girl, Annabeth, moved from a different place, which is here."

Nico looked at Percy. There was silence then Percy picked up his phone out of his pocket called someone.

"Hello Thalia? Yeah, call the police and report that there was a hostage incident. Dean got Annabeth."

Nico just watched Percy. He never saw him much determination, well except before his swimming competition.

"I've got a clue where they might be. I'll just text you the address. Just call them, okay? Tell Luke too. Yeah, I already called Annabeth's parents they said they're on their way. Okay, thanks."

He put his phone down and looked at Nico. He swore that he will protect Annabeth from any danger; he swore that he will always be there for her and he intends on keeping that promise.

"We're going to rescue Annabeth, even if it means killing Dean."
