AN: Well, damn. It's been almost a month since I got the last chapter released. Summer camp was a blast but it did take me out of my funk a little bit. School started for me, and updates might be slow. As slow as a month wait? Well, you never know. I hope this chapter is worth the wait but I feel like...I'm missing something. Anyways, thanks for the reviews as always.

Also I'd like to mention there's a new mechanic in this chapter that's replacing Logic Dive. Before I get shouted for blasphemy, I admit that I took this mechanic from a different game series: Ace Attorney. The mechanic I'm using is pretty similar to Logic Dive and I think the one in Ace Attorney works a lot better, so I will use that. You'll see it later this chapter :D

Reven228: And answer he shall. Thanks for the review!

Kizi1999: My lips are sealed.

TheRoseShadow21: Your trials were great, don't say that :)

Guest: Yeah, tbh, I think I kind of convoluted this trial. It's jumping around a lot and is definitely very confusing, but hopefully this and future chapters will clear things up.

Before I forget, everyone, check out Khronovision's Deviantart! His username is DespairFrost (so like, google DespariFrost's Deviantart) because he's making totally kickass art of Danganronpa Alpha. Sprite versions of the cast! Yay! He also has a ton of other awesome work, so it wouldn't hurt to check those out too ;D

With that said, here's the chapter y'all waited a month for :)

Soundtrack: Class Trial FUTURE PART

UNMEI: If I saw Hikaru with Kaito...

UNMEI: Then why wasn't Hikaru electrocuted?

HIKARU: …

MIRAI: Let's confirm with Hikaru first...is Unmei telling the truth?

HIKARU: …

HIKARU: I do not think that Unmei is lying.

UNMEI: Of course I'm not!

MIRAI: Hmm...but then, Hikaru, by saying that...

HIKARU: Yes, I realize I am casting suspicion upon myself.

UNMEI: So why weren't you electrocuted, Hikaru?

HIKARU: …

UNMEI: I mean, seeing Kaito is fine and all...

UNMEI: But the fact that you weren't even harmed a little bit is kind of up for suspicion, right?

HIKARU: …

HIKARU: Yes, I agree with you one hundred percent.

KEIKO: So, what are you saying?

HIKARU: ...It appears that I have made a small mistake.

YOSHINORI: A mistake?

HIKARU: Yes. However, I do have a solution to fix our little predicament.

KEIKO: What's that?

HIKARU: I have more details about what I saw while seeing Kaito.

NOAH: Well then? What are you waiting for?! Spit it out!

HIKARU: ...Please be patient with me.

HIKAUR: All right. Hopefully, this clears up any confusion.

HIKARU: While I was at the swimming pool with Kaito...

HIKARU: I assumed him to be alive at first.

HIKARU: After he collapsed, I did one more thing that I did not explain previously.

HIKARU: I had walked up to examine his body.

HIKARU: And I had made a discovery!

HIKARU: It appeared that ==Kaito was already dead before he was electrocuted!==

HIKARU: I apologize for not clearing this issue up in my [last testimony.]

KEIKO: You've got that wrong!

Ammunition Used: [The phrase "last testimony."]

Soundtrack: Class Trial FUTURE PART

KEIKO: Hold on, there's something I don't understand here.

HIKARU: ..?

KEIKO: In the last testimony, you claimed that Kaito had collapsed, correct?

HIKARU: Yes.

KEIKO: Well, that doesn't make sense!

HIKARU: Why not..?

MIRAI: Hmm... In your last testimony, you claimed that you thought Kaito was alive when you first saw him, right?

HIKARU: Yes, that's right.

MIRAI: But then that would mean that Kaito would have had to be standing up.

HIKARU: Standing up..?

KEIKO: Just think about it. Why would you say that he collapsed if he were standing up?

HIKARU: ..!

KEIKO: It's a contradiction of the facts!

MIRAI: Also, this does contradict another thing. How could you tell Kaito was dead when you first saw him?

HIKARU: Well, I –

YOSHINORI: Hey, yeah! If Kaito were standin' up, then it would've been impossible for Kaito to have been dead!

NOAH: Ha...That was a nice catch. Certainly, a dead corpse could not be standing straight up.

MIRAI: So this means that either the killer found a way to prop up Kaito's dead body...or maybe Hikaru was lying to us?

HIKARU: Perhaps the true killer was in fact propping up his body.

KEIKO: To be honest, in an open place like that? You would have spotted the real killer from a mile away.

HIKARU: …

SHOUGO: Wait a minute! Does that mean your last testimony was a false one too?

HIKARU: …

MIRAI: Not to mention, that Hikaru had cleverly changed the subject there for one second. Weren't we talking about how you weren't electrocuted?

HIKARU: …

NOAH: Are you lying to us, Hikaru? Because if you are, there will be quite a few consequences.

HIKARU: ...So, you think I'm lying to you?

YOSHINORI: Hell yeah, you are!

YOSHINORI: I got' more than enough time on my hands to beat you the hell up!

HIKARU: …

HIKARU: Fine, it appears that I have made another mistake.

MIRAI: Another mistake..?

KEIKO: You're not just going to lie to us again, are you?

HIKARU: ...There will not be any falsifications in my next testimony.

HIKARU: You can trust me on that.

HIKARU: Now let's see... what did you say again..?

Flashback!

UNMEI: I don't think he committed the murder, to be honest. He was the one who came running to me about Kaito's death.

KEIKO: Really..?

UNMEI: It was sort of scary too. Hikaru wasn't burned, but there was a big gash in his chest.

HIKARU: Ah yes...I think I've remembered.

HIKARU: Now, let me repeat a few of the words you have stated.

HIKARU: "I don't think he committed the murder, to be honest." Those words were spoken my you, correct..?

UNMEI: W-well, yes. But that was before the trial, you know!

HIKARU: Ok, everyone, let's all think about this rationally for a second now!

HIKARU: Pay attention now.

HIKARU: One, if I were indeed the killer, why would I notify Unmei of Kaito's death?

HIKARU: Now now, I don't think that makes much sense.

NOAH: ...Perhaps –

HIKARU: I asked for your undivided attention. Please do not interrupt.

NOAH: Heh. Very well.

HIKARU: Now! There is the matter of the second issue.

HIKARU: I wonder what exactly killed Kaito..?

HIKARU: Was it the electrocution? Or was it caused by the cuts found on his body? I would so like to know...yes, that would be nice!

KEIKO: ...Huh?

HIKARU: I concede. I admit I was with Kaito at one point. I admit I saw him get electrocuted. I admit that I am just fine.

KEIKO: D-don't change the subject! We were talking about your –

HIKARU: OKAY! Let's see! Everyone, take a good look inside your brains. You have to think rather carefully now!

HIKARU: Was Kaito killed by his burns from the electrocution, or the cuts that he received?

KEIKO: …

[Now that I think about it...the Monokuma File is worded poorly anyways.]

YOSHINORI: His burns from the electrocution? He didn't die from burns. He died from –

HIKARU: Now, now, don't get so hasty, Yoshinori.

HIKARU: What was he killed by?!

KEIKO: ...Uh...

[Dammit..! Now that I think about it...the way the Monokuma File is worded...]

NOAH: I see the look on your face, Keiko. You seem troubled.

KEIKO: …

KEIKO: Was...Kaito really killed by the electrocution?

UNMEI: Huh?! Of course he was..!

KEIKO: B-but there has to be something we're overlooking!

HIKARU: The Monokuma File states that he was killed by either burns, or cuts.

HIKARU: In other words, what Keiko is wondering, if his death was immediate or not. I'm thinking it wasn't, because what electrocution does is shock the body...

HIKARU: Into stopping the heart lungs.

KEIKO: ...I don't really think it's likely Kaito died from burns outside his skin. Though it's possible...

HIKARU: Now, let me make this clear. No one has ever survived an electrocution. However, that is to a point where the human body cannot handle the voltage surge.

HIKARU: Let's assume the swimsuits didn't charge enough power to actually kill the human body. It still hurts like hell, and it causes internal damage.

HIKARU: What this means is, Kaito's internal body was severely burned. Now, how do you think this might affect your body?

YOSHINORI: ...O-ouch.

UNMEI: Then...why wouldn't the death be immediate?

HIKARU: It's just common sense, really. If death was immediate, then the Monokuma File would say he "died from electrocution." Yet it so vaguely states that he died from burns.

MIRAI: …
HIKARU: Those had to be internal burns. So! He was not killed from his electrocution.

MIRAI: Where are you going with this..?

KEIKO: That's right...I don't think that really changes anything.

MIRAI: Are you saying...

HIKARU: He was probably killed by the cuts, right? If the burns lasted over time, then the cut should have been the thing that killed him.

NOAH: That would seem like that's the case, yes.

MIRAI: ...Uh, okay.

HIKARU: Well, then it's settled. I did not kill Kaito.

NOAH: Hmm?

HIKARU: I was with Kaito when his swimsuit detonated.

HIKARU: Right after, I went to report to Unmei. Considering this, I wouldn't have time to attack him with cuts, would I?

MIRAI: …

UNMEI: But you still didn't completely answer any of our questions!

UNMEI: Why weren't you electrocuted? And what's with the gash on your chest?

HIKARU: ...This gash...it was a personal injury of mine when I was in the prison a long time ago. It was stitched up, but I suppose that the wound re-opened due to stress.

NOAH: As a policeman, I can confirm the eligibility of this. Wounds can re-open at random times due to strange things, you know.

UNMEI: S-so...t-then, why weren't you electrocuted?

HIKARU: Who knows? You see, things happen. I know someone who had dropped their phone in a puddle of rainwater, yet it was still good as new. Yet at the same time, I know someone who accidentally left their phone for a few seconds under dripping water.

HIKARU: Things happen. Perhaps my swimsuit didn't electrocute, simply because I was lucky?

UNMEI: I...I guess that's possible..?

KEIKO: So, basically you're saying...when you discovered Kaito, he was still alive.

HIKARU: Naturally, this was in between 10:30 and 11:00. When I went to report with Unmei, it had not yet passed 11:00.

HIKARU: Meaning someone could have slipped in and cut Kaito without any evidence..!

KEIKO: …

KEIKO: Oh shit!

MIRAI: B-but, no matter how you think...

MIRAI: You're still the most likely culprit!

HIKARU: ...You're seriously pissing me off...

HIKARU: I'm not a murderer. You cannot pass me off as one. I never was one, and I never will be.

NOAH: ...You were never a murderer?

HIKARU: Of course. I was falsely accused, and you know that!

NOAH: ...Ha, I beg to differ.

KEIKO: S-stop it you two, we're talking about something else.

NOAH: Hikaru's a dirty prisoner. He's worthless scum who's doing nothing but sticking up for himself.

HIKARU: ...Tch.

[They're in their own world...but why?]

KEIKO: Is there a reason why you two are having a catfight..?

HIKARU: This doesn't concern you, Keiko. On the other hand, it definitely concerns you, Noah!

UNMEI: Everyone! Stop! If we don't...if we don't stop, we'll never figure out Kaito's killer!

NOAH: ...Don't you get it?! This crime is unsolvable!

HIKARU: Indeed.

NOAH: We just have to pin our blame against Hikaru! He's our best bet!

NOAH: Humans...you're all so finicky. Everyone is the same. When the answer is clearly in front of you, you hesitate and retreat. Well, that's not right! It's just not!

NOAH: Get your head out of your asses.

MIRAI: ...Hmm, I wonder why this crime is "unsolvable."

NOAH: Because we can't determine when Kaito was killed! We can't determine when Kaito was cut! We can't determine anything!

NOAH: So –

Soundtrack: Class Trial FUTURE PART

MIRAI: Really..? Because I think we have something with us that can point out who the true culprit is.

NOAH: Huh..?!

HIKARU: …

MIRAI: ...The corpse discovery announcement, maybe?

NOAH: What about that?!

MIRAI: In the class record, it says that "besides Noah and Hikaru, everyone else confirmed that they didn't see the body."

HIKARU: ..!

HIKARU: It...it can't be..!

NOAH: We're the only two that saw the body?! Then why the hell did you play the corpse discovery announcement, Monokuma?!

MONOKUMA: Upupupu! It's mysterious, isn't it? But I can only say one thing, regarding to this.

MONOKUMA: A corpse discovery announcement is only made when three or more people sees the body!

NOAH: You had to have made a mistake..! If it was only us two...

NOAH: …

HIKARU: …

KEIKO: What did the two of you do..?

KEIKO: …

[Why did...why did only the two of them see the body..? I don't get it! Are they in...]

ANSWER THE QUESTION!: What's the reason that Noah and Hikaru saw the body, yet no one else did?u

Because they're the only ones who saw Kaito's body.

They're in cahoots.

They're magic creatures.

Because they're blackmailing someone.

Because Monokuma made a mistake.

KEIKO: This is it!

Music Halts

KEIKO: W-wait a minute...

KEIKO: You two...are working together, aren't you?

HIKARU: W-what..?

NOAH: Don't be ridiculous, we wouldn't –

MIRAI: The coincidences stack up together, you guys.

MIRAI: I mean, why were the two of you in lots of the evidence that had come up?

UNMEI: Weren't those just coincidences?

MIRAI: One? Sure. But multiple ones...

Soundtrack: Class Trial – Odd Edition

MIRAI: That just stacks up to me as a pattern. A pattern that gave us a huge clue about the real culprits of this case.

HIKARU: ...Raaaaaa!

NOAH: Don't go "raaa!" You'll give us away..!

NOAH: ...Fuck.

KEIKO: You two are working together, aren't you?! It all makes sense..! The two of you were acting strangely from the beginning of the investigation!

KEIKO: Not to mention, we have tons of evidence that proves that the two of you were involved with the case!

HIKARU: …

YOSHINORI: Now that I think about it, if two people had been working together...then maybe the timeline of the murder wasn't so strange after all!

KEIKO: It took only 30 minutes for Kaito to be killed, but if the two of you are in cahoots...

NOAH: ...W-well, even if that were true, what do you think that changes?

KEIKO: Huh?

NOAH: It changes nothing! We don't know if Kaito was killed by an electrocution or not! And he had cuts all over his body!

KEIKO: ...So?

NOAH: If we are working together, you guys don't have enough compelling evidence!

NOAH: ...Ha...

NOAH: Okay, everyone! Listen closely! Hikaru and I are in cahoots! That's the truth!

HIKARU: N-noah..?!

NOAH: It's okay, Hikaru. Now...listen closely once more!

NOAH: It is I who committed the murder..!

HIKARU: ...But I thought...

HIKARU: ...N-ngh, no, it's...not you, Noah. Don't try and lie...

KEIKO: ...Huh?

NOAH: Are you willing to flip a coin, Keiko? With the situation, sure, it seems like Hikaru was the real culprit.

NOAH: But it's impossible for him to have killed Kaito, right? He was with him when he was electrocuted!

KEIKO: ...Wait...are you –

NOAH: So that means I had to have killed him, right? But where's the proof? Need I remind you that I had been stabbed eariler?! How would I have done this murder?!

MIRAI: …!

NOAH: Hahaha! You don't know who to vote for! Who killed Kaito, huh, Keiko? Who did it?!

KEIKO: This...that's...it has to be...

[Dammit! He's right! While...I'm kind of sure it's Hikaru, I don't know if it's Noah either! There's just not enough evidence to tell!]

NOAH: Need I remind you stupid shits, we're talking about your lives! Are you willing to flip a coin to decide your future?!
UNMEI: Nngh...I have a headache...

YOSHINORI: M-my, guns are beginning to tingle a bit...

SHOUGO: Why now?!

KEIKO: ...Is...is there really..?

[...No! There...there has to be evidence! I just have to rethink the case from the beginning again! I'm sure I'll find something!]

Tutorial: Note, the following "phase" is not an original from Danganronpa. It's not something original we created either. It's found in the fifth Ace Attorney game, and because of a lack of inspiration, and a fondness for that minigame, we thought that it would be a good idea to feature that gamemode in this carbon copy.

It's called "RE:Visualization." After coming across a stalemate, there has to be something Keiko missed, right? Well, cross your fingers. In a train of thought, Keiko will be considering the case from the beginning to the end. Hopefully, she won't die.

...Of course, I must be indifferent. Otherwise, I wouldn't be a fair tutorial. We apologize if this resemblance to Ace Attorney bothers anyone. We also ripped off the soundtrack, so the similarities are everywhere. It's uncanny! Ahahaha!

==PHASE THIRTEEN==

RE:Visualization! Questionnaire for the Confused!

Okay...so let's start at the start of this case. It all started when Noah was attacked by who he claimed to be Hikaru. This is probably another working in their cahoots together, because if not, it's a pretty ridiculous coincidence. If it's true that they were in cahoots at this point, then that means...

They've been working together since the beginning

Then Hikaru had to kill Kaito

Then Noah had to kill Kaito

THEY'VE BEEN WORKING TOGETHER SINCE THE BEGINNING

Well, that much is obvious at this point, anyways. Noah and Hikaru were working together to kill someone, so it seems like they baited Kaito into doing this. The two of them were able to work something out, but now the question we all have, is whether or not Kaito was killed by his burns, or his cuts. I'm not sure which to roll by...but it seems like the strongest case seems to be:

The burns

The cuts

IT WAS PROBABLY THE BURNS!

If it was the burns that killed Kaito, I have these pieces of evidence to back me up:

Monokuma File No. 5, Kaito's Electrocution

Shattered Glass, Swimsuit Timer

Swimsuit Detonation, Swimsuit Weakness

MONOKUMA FILE NO. 5 and KAITO'S ELECTROCUTION PROVES IT!

While I'm not 100% sure, the evidence is teetering towards the burns. The two pieces of evidence literally tells us that Kaito's swimsuit had detonated in the first place. Plus, the Monokuma Timer explicitly states that Kaito's swimsuit had ran out of time. If Kaito's swimsuit ran out of time... Wait, huh? That's...not...

...

...Wait a minute! That's it! There's a piece of evidence that contradicts the two pieces of evidence I have!

Swimsuit Detonation

Swimsuit Timer

Swimsuit Weakness

THE SWIMSUIT TIMER CONTRADICTS THE FACTS.

If Kaito really was electrocuted by his swimsuit when Hikaru was with him, then why was his timer stuck at 24:48? The timer being stuck on that time meant that Kaito still had time to swim, but the Monokuma File contradicts this. And as much as I hate to admit it, I trust the Monokuma File more over what Kaito's swimsuit says. So now, the question is, when did Kaito's swimsuit actually electrocute him?

Before the murder

During the murder

After the murder

HE WAS ELECTROCUTED BEFORE THE MURDER!

KEIKO: Everything is clear to me now!

HE WAS ELECTROCUTED BEFORE THE MURDER!

Soundtrack: Class Trial FUTURE PART

KEIKO: Wait a minute, everyone! I have a new idea!

NOAH: A new idea..?

HIKARU: ...W-what is it..?

KEIKO: We all know that Kaito was electrocuted at some point...but you know what? It's impossible for him to have been electrocuted when he was with Hikaru!

HIKARU: ...What...WHAAAAT?!

MIRAI: M-Master, what are you saying..?

KEIKO: C'mon, everyone! Read what the Monokuma File says, and then compare it to the swimsuit timer!

MIRAI: ...Oh! I see what you're saying!

NOAH: T-tch..! K-Keiko..!

[Yes! I feel so damn smart now!]

HIKARU: W-wait a minute..! You say that and all, but then explain to us, when was he actually electrocuted? We were only at this new dome for two days!

KEIKO: ...Oh, right...I, uh, forgot about that.

[Ouch, now, I don't feel as hot.]

KEIKO: ...Uh, let's see...

UNMEI: Wait a minute! I have an idea of when!

NOAH: When?!

UNMEI: ...Could it be, when we were all at the swimming pool together?

NOAH: ...w...WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!

UNMEI: I mean, we were in there for a while, right? Maybe Kaito...

KEIKO: Wait, that's not possible, now that I think about it...Monokuma clearly said that the swimsuits lasted two hours that day! If he was electrocuted, then we all should have been!

Music Halts

MONOKUMA: Um, about that...I may have made a slight mistake.

Soundtrack: Monokuma-Sensei's Lesson

KEIKO: ...Sorry?

MONOKUMA: *huff puff* Well, this is awkward, isn't it?

UNMEI: What do you mean, a slight mistake?

MONOKUMA: Um, well, you see, I meant to give everyone two hour swimsuits. But now that I think about it, I don't think I actually ever made sure which swimsuits were which...

KEIKO: Wait...You're saying you gave Kaito a false swimsuit?!

MONOKUMA: Of course not! My swimsuits aren't false! They're as true as true can be true! Truth! Despair! Anxiety! Love! Hate! I...

SHOUGO: What is he even saying..?

MONOKUMA: But...if you put it that way, then...maybe I could have accidentally forgot to give Kaito a two hour swimsuit...

KEIKO: ...Then...when was he electrocuted?!

MONOKUMA: Okay, okay, I guess I should be fair. He did get electrocuted at the swimming pool, but remember? He was buried in the sand!

MIRAI: Mmhmm? Go on.

MONOKUMA: Sand is an insulator, and the swimsuit's electrocution effect was a bit nerfed because of that. Kaito was burned internally, but it wasn't enough to kill him on strike.

MONOKUMA: You see, Kaito felt a bit squeamish after that, so he came to me! And the next day, I told him secretly...

MONOKUMA: The truth to love is a good body, and a long anaconda!

MEOWYKINS: My anaconda don't! My anaconda don't!

MONOKUMA: Huh?! What are you doing here? You weren't here when we started this level!

MEOWYKINS: I wanted to watch y'all point out the culprit! And I just love that song I was singing!

MONOKUMA: Youth these days...the music business is degenerating...

YOSHINORI: Get to the damn point already!

MONOKUMA: Fine. After I told him the secret of love, he said to me, "you stupid bear! I want to know about my fucking innards when you nearly burned me to death!" And I told him, if you soak yourself in the beach water, it should cool your body and distract you from the pain.

KEIKO: ...Wait, was that why Kaito was so eager to leave and get a swimsuit?

MONOKUMA: Upupupu, he wanted to soothe his body so badly, he wanted a swimsuit as soon as he could get it!

MONOKUMA: Get 'em while they're hot! That's what I used to say when I had a job as a –

UNMEI: I can't believe it...Kaito was electrocuted then..?

SHOUGO: W-wait a minute, then what's with the temperature fluctuations? Did that not force the swimsuits to explode?

MONOKUMA: Truth is, the buddy cop duo over there got the information about the weakness of my patented swimsuit.

MONOKUMA: Oops..! I'm revealing too much! As a judge, I must be indifferent!

KEIKO: Now that I think about it, the day that Monokuma told me about the swimsuits...

Flashback!

MONOKUMA: By too strong, I mean so strong it could literally melt your skin off strong!

KEIKO: I...don't think anyone's skin melted.

MONOKUMA: Essentially...it was a red herring! Upupu..!

YOSHINORI: ...HUUUUUUUUUUUH?! That's not fair at all! You can't help the two of them like that!

MONOKUMA: B-but...they were so kind to me...I mean, Noah even returned my precious item he stole from me...

[The...motive? It was returned to Monokuma?]

MONOKUMA: So I decided to help them a little bit..! And don't you go saying this is like the last time! The last was was an accidental red herring!

MIRAI: So Kaito was electrocuted because the timer ran out? Then Kaito's swimsuit didn't explode, huh?

KEIKO: This means...the cuts really were the cause of death.

KEIKO: But it also means that Hikaru's the most likely culprit again!

HIKARU: W-what..? Why?!

KEIKO: Because! You were at the pool with Kaito, right? You already admitted to it! Give it up Hikaru! Tell us what you know!

AN: Oof, what a loooong ass wait. Also, the reason I used Ace Attorney's game mechanic was because I found it to be similar to Logic Dive in a way where the protagonist is essentially asking questions in their minds. Yet, I didn't think Logic Dive worked as well as Ace Attorney, so I sort of rebranded it (very slightly, mind you. I won't take credit where it's undue, it's not a Danganronpa mechanic at all but it's not original.)

Sadly I think I left a few plot contradictions and plot holes, and if so, that's the fault of waiting like a month between releases. It's been 26 days actually. That's almost a month. If anything I'm also trying to get Chapter 4 finished as quickly as I can so there might be plot holes. Though I don't know, honestly. I don't think I left any – if I did, feel free to point them out to me. (Note, the trial isn't over yet, so there are things left unexplained still. Unexplained things aren't plot holes – yet.)
