HI!

So I really like this chapter! This is the first time Jake shows up! Yeah :D

Anyway tell me what you think and REVIEW!

Chapter Six

I was running in the darkling woods of Forks. I stopped and looked around me trying to figure a way out but it was dark and I couldn´t see anything. Suddenly, a light shone through the glade. But it wasn't a light. It was my mum.

- MUM! – I cried her name out and ran to her. I hugged her just to feel her. She was real! She is actually here! I didn't notice that I was crying but she wiped them away with her thumb. She smiled lovingly at me and I chuckled.

- I missed you so much Mum! Why did you leave me? I need you and Dad. I feel lost. – I looked down and I could still feel the tears in my cheeks. I wiped them away furiously and looked at her hazel eyes.

- We miss you too sweetheart, but I can't stay with you much longer. There is something I need to talk to you! - It was something serious.

She momentarily closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Then she looked at me.

- A battle is about to start and you my dear must stand alongside vampires and werewolves.

- Mother, vampires are not part of our nature and I cannot protect something unnatural, something...dead. As for werewolves…why must I fight alongside them? And what is this battle? – So many questions and yet so little time.

- I can see that you are reluctant to help the vampires but what about the werewolves? They saved you in the beach. You are linked to them whether you like them or not. – I tried not to think about the incident at the beach but I couldn't ignore it. I could be dead right now if it weren't for those wolves but the redhead vampire didn't come as a threat when she looked at me. I shivered at the thought of being in that situation again. Even if I was a witch I couldn't control my powers. Not yet.

- Is this your wish? To help them?

- It is. I have already spoken with the high priestess and she wants me to give you my powers.

- Mother I am not ready! You are by far one of the most powerful witches and I only control the element of fire!

- You will be great. Give me your hand. – I reluctantly gave my hand and a light emerged from her hand to mine. I could sense her energy flowing through my fingertips and it was more powerful than I could ever imagine. She started chanting:

Oh Great Spirit,
whose voice I hear in the winds,
and whose breath gives life to all the world
-hear me-

I come before you, one of your children.
I am small and weak.
I need your strength and wisdom.
Let me walk in beauty and make my eyes ever
behold the red and purple sunset.

Make my hands respect the things you have made,
my ears sharp to hear your voice.
Make me wise, so that I may know the things
you have taught my People,
the lesson you have hidden in every leaf and rock.

I seek strength not to be superior to my brothers,
but to be able to fight my greatest enemy, myself.
Make me ever ready to come to you,
with clean hands and straight eyes,
so when life fades as a fading sunset,
my spirit may come to you without shame.

- Wind, Earth, Fire and Water are now yours, Gwendolyn. Use them wisely. – She was about to walk away when I forcefully grabbed her wrist.

- Wait! Mum! I can't do this! I don't know how to use my new powers…you never taught me how to control Earth, Water and Wind. You…died. – I looked away and tried not to feel the pain but it was too much.

She lightly caressed my cheek and kissed my forehead.

- You will meet someone soon that will help you. Have faith.

- I will.

She turned around and disappeared without telling goodbye.

I gasped and my eyes opened. I tried to control my breathing and looked around. I was in my bedroom. It was just a dream but it felt so…real. Someone knocked on my door. Charlie opened the door.

- Good morning Gwen! Are you alright? You look a bit pale. – Uncle Charlie asked worriedly and touched my forehead. I wasn't hot but I was still shocked about yesterday and that vivid dream.

- I don´t feel so good Uncle Charlie. Can I skip school today? Just today, please.

- Ok but if you get out from the house make sure not to wonder in the woods. There have been many animal attacks and I don't want you getting hurt. I have to go. Be careful Gwen. – He kissed my forehead and walked away.

- I will Uncle Charlie, thanks.

I went downstairs and Bella was just leaving with Edward. She stared at me for a few seconds but turned around and closed the front door. I sighed. We didn't speak to each other since yesterday. I decided to spend my day at the Café. I used to go there every day with my Uncle Charlie. They had the best pancakes I have ever eaten and I could really use some pancakes right now.

It was a five minute walk so it wasn't too far away from home. I entered the Café and smiled. The old wooden chairs lined up in the bar, the yellow stained curtains filling the room, the people talking loudly and the waiters bustling through the kitchen doors with delicious food. Everything was still the same.

- Oh my, if it isn´t Miss Gwendolyn! I haven´t seen you in ages sweetheart! How are you?

- Hi Abby! I am fine thank you how are you?

- I am fine sweetie. So what can I get you?

- Pancakes! - I smiled happily and she laughed. She knew I loved pancakes.

I sat down and waited anxiously. A warm plate of yummy pancakes and a hot cocoa was placed on the table.

- Here you go sweetie!

- Thanks! – I smiled at her but she always saw through me.

- Ah oh. What happened?

- It's really nothing. I just don't wanna talk about it. – Abby nodded and patted me on the shoulder and walked away. Everybody knew that I didn't like to talk when I am angry about something or someone. I prefer sitting by myself and trying to think of a way out.

I ate them and when I finished I paid my bill and went back home. Today the sky was grey and the landscape was greener than ever. My phone buzzed and I looked: it was Darcie calling.

- Hey!

- Hey!? Where are you? You didn´t show up today!

- Oh yeah I'm not feeling very well today so I kinda skipped school.

- Is this about Aaron? Because if it is I'm gonna… - Darcie's voice raised and I stopped her before she could yell at me.

- This has nothing to do with Aaron, Darcie! He was a true gentleman!

- Then what is it?

- I…I just…didn't feel good today that is all.

- You don't wanna talk about it do you? – She asked me slowly. I sighed.

- Not really, no. But can we still study today at your place?

- Yeah shore! Six o'clock?

- I will be there! Bye!

- Bye! See you soon!

I returned home and ate a sandwich for lunch. I wasn't really hungry before that hearty breakfast. I decided to study for my biology and before I knew it, it was five o'clock. Darcie lived at La Push and I didn't have a car so I decided to walk there.

As I was heading to Darcie's place, I discovered a store near the First Beach. The tablet said "Witchcraft & Magick". How ironic! I may be the only witch in this town and there is a store just for witchcraft and spells. I decided to enter and take a look around. There was everything a witch could ask for. Books, stones, incense, cards, even jewellery! An old woman was sitting behind the counter with a white cat in her lap.

- Is there anything I could do for you dear? - Her voice was hoarse, tired.

- No thank you I was just looking around - I noticed a blue greenish dream catcher.

- Does the miss like dream catchers? - She smiled at me. I touched the dream catcher and smiled.

- Yes. My mother…she gave me one of this a long time ago. - I laughed at the thought. Those times were so…simple. Being a child must be the greatest think you will ever experience. The old woman looked at me. She had white short curly hair and pair of glasses in the tip of her nose. She was small and her eyes were blue. She seemed strangely familiar.

- Hum…I am sorry but have we met?

Instead of responding to my question she gave me the dream catcher and said:

- I knew your mother Meliai. She was the strongest, bravest of them all. Maybe one day I will tell you about me if our paths ever unite again.

- My name is not…

- The dream catcher is a gift. Take it. - With that said she left me alone confused. What was that?! Why did she call me Meliai!?

I walked out of the store and I was still intrigued about this old lady. Who was she? Why was she so familiar? How did she know my mother? Next thing I knew it started raining. I wasn't near Darcie's house. Actually I didn't know where I was! A minute ago I was near the First Beach and now I am in the middle of nowhere. My clothes clung my shivering body and my hair was soaking wet.

- Great! Just Great! I am soaked to my feet and I don't know where I am! Perfect!

I saw a couple of red houses near and I decided to ask for shelter until the rain stopped. I walked to the nearest house and knocked on the door but nobody answered. I heard some noises on the garage and decided to check it out and what I was about to look stunned me. There it was: Jacob Black, Bella's best friend, shirtless working on his car's engine. He was listening to music really loud so he didn't hear me walking in. I stared at him for a few minutes but looked away. Here I am staring at this guy and entering his garage like I am his best friend! I decided to walk away from him and try a different house. I wasn't really a confrontation kind of person. I was about to turn around when he saw me. He stared at my eyes and I didn't look away. As I was watching his reaction, there was something about the way he looked at me. He was in some sort of trance, quite hypnotic actually. He dropped the wrench but never stopped looking into my eyes. I was kinda scared right now. Why was he staring at me like that? Was there something wrong? His face completely changed: one minute ago he was in shock and the next moment he was mad, AT ME! He strode to me and I took a few steps back from him. I was so afraid that he would break me into two.

- WHAT DO YOU WANT!? - He yelled at me with his fists clutched. I was not expecting this reaction from him. We have never met!

- I am so sorry I…I…came here because I am lost and I wanted to wait for the rain to stop but I guess I should go. – My voice cracked and I walked out of his garage. The rain was still pouring down heavily but I didn't care. I just wanted to go home.

Before I could take another step Jacob grabbed my arms and now I was facing him. Our faces were inches close and his warm hands were still holding my arms tightly. I tried to pull away from his grasp but he was too strong. He was as wet as I was but he didn't seem to mind. I glared at him stunned. He didn't seem to be angry with me anymore just…hurt.

- Why did you come right now into my life? WHY? If you had come anytime sooner I would be…glad. - He looked indecisive and quite frankly a bit crazy. His grip was getting tighter and tighter. I couldn't feel my arms.

- Look I don´t know who you are and I don´t know what you are talking about. Just let me go and I will leave you be, for good. You are scaring me! LET ME GO!

He dropped his hands and I looked at my arms. They were bruised. Jacob looked at me like a ton of bricks had hit him. The rain was stopping and a green jeep parked near us.

- Hey Jacob! Who is this? – I turned around and faced three boys smiling at me. Jacob didn't say anything but he was still staring at me.

- Hey beautiful what's your name? – One of the boys winked at me and kissed my palm which made Jacob even angrier. He started to shake tremendously and his friends were staring at him quizzically until he ran away.

- What the hell was that? - I said to myself. I was shaking a bit but kept my head held high.

- Hey, are you all right? I am Seth, by the way! - He seemed a really nice kid. I shook his hand but I was still stunned about Jacob's behaviour.

- I am Embry and you have already met Quill! - Embry introduced himself and as for Quill, he raised his eyebrows when he looked at me.

- Hello I am Gwendolyn, but you can call me Gwen. - I stated indifferently.

- So Gwen wanna hang out? - Quill seductively asked me but I wasn't paying any attention to Quill. I was still thinking about Jacob. What an asshole!

- I just want to go home. - I started walking away but Embry grabbed my wrist.

- Hey do you need a lift? Where do you live?

- Forks.

- Well we can give you a ride! – Seth smiled and they nodded. It was like they took a weight from my shoulders.

- Really? I mean you just got here!

- We were checking up on Jake but he left so we have nothing better to do!

- That would be great guys! Thanks!

The four of us went to Embry's jeep and they drove to Forks. Embry was driving and I was next to him. Quill and Seth were in the back seat.

- So what the hell did you do to Jake? I've never seen him so angry! – Seth asked me and Quill slapped his nape. He yelled and they started fighting. Embry just rolled his eyes and I laughed at them. Embry looked at me and I raised my eyebrows.

- What?

- Seriously. What did you do to him? And why were you there?

- I have no idea Embry! I was just heading to Darcie's place and I….OH NO!

- What?

- Can I use your phone Embry? It will only take a minute I swear! – He chuckled and handed his phone.

- Yeah sure!

I called Darcie's phone number. It rang for a couple of seconds when she answered.

- Hello!?

- Darcie!

- Gwen! Where are you? Roxy and I were so worried about you! I called you like a zillion times!

Embry snickered at Darcie's concerned voice and I tried not to laugh but it was so funny when she was anxious about something!

- Sorry! I was heading to your place but then I got lost and it started raining and some guys are giving me a lift…

- WHAT? SOME GUYS? YOU JUST MET THESE GUYS AND NOW YOU ARE IN THEIR TRUCK?

- Don't you worry sweetheart! We don't bite! – Embry yelled at the phone and I laughed. Darcie just grunted annoyed.

- Speak for yourself! – Quill whispered and now Seth slapped his head and they were fihting all over again. It was like a dog cat fight!

- Just call me when you get home!

- I will. Bye Darcie!

- Bye.

I hung up the phone and gave it to Embry.

- You must think that my friend is kind of crazy…

- Nah she was just worried about you!

We were entering Fork's boarders and I gave them the directions to my house.

- You can pull over here.

- Wait…you live here? - Seth asked me.

- Yes I do live here. I just moved in actually.

- Are you related with the Swan's?

- Yes. Bella she is my cousin.

- Oh really? You two don't look related. - They started laughing.

- And why is that? - I asked them.

- Well she is a really clumsy boring girl and…you know… - Quill said.

- Know what?

- Well, you are more interesting than her! Consider as a complement! - I laughed.

- If you think so. Guys…thanks for the ride! - I left the jeep and waved goodbye at them. They waved back and drove away. They were actually nice. A lot nicer than his little friend Jacob!

I opened the front door and Charlie was waiting impatiently for me. Oh boy.

- Where have you been? Are you alright? - He was really worried about me.

- I am fine. I was just at Darcie's. We were studying biology. Anyway I just want to take a nice long hot bath eat something and sleep!

- Alright go take a shower. Dinner is almost ready. – He playfully ruffled my hair and went to the kitchen.

I went upstairs and entered the shower. Why was Jacob so hostile to me? I never talked to him in my life and yet I sensed something about him…I just couldn't quite put my finger on it. The moment his arms touched my arms I could feel this electricity sparkling in the air.

I went downstairs looking for my dream catcher.

- Hey Uncle Charlie did you happen to see a dream catcher I brought with me?

- No sorry but I don't think you brought anything besides you! - He said sarcastically.

That's when I remembered. I left in JACOB'S GARAGE! Oh no please god no!

Did you like it? Yes or No!?
