AN: Aaaand I'm back.
Soundtrack: Ekoroshia or BOX 16
Beep! Beep!
[…]
Monokuma File #6 has been added.
NOAH: …I suppose we should look at it, huh?
[…]
NOAH: Keiko…
KEIKO: …Yeah?
NOAH: Are you okay..?
KEIKO: …No. No, I'm not.
NOAH: I see…
[…]
KEIKO: So…I guess I'll go ahead and take a look.
SHOUGO: Um, I guess we should all take a look then, right?
UNMEI: Y-yeah. We'll get through this. We'll solve his case for Mirai.
NOAH: …We shall.
KEIKO: He wouldn't want us to.
UNMEI: Huh?
KEIKO: He wouldn't want to convict anyone… Not for his own death. He would because he'd have to, but…
NOAH: …Keiko, we need to focus. We can't worry about that right now.
[…]
UNMEI: S-so…let's take a look then.
(#6)
|Victim: Mirai Minoshiro
|Cause of Death: Undetermined.
|Time of Death: Undetermined.
|Additional Details:
|None at this time.
== Monokuma File No. 6 has been added as ammunition. (1)
SHOUGO: What the heck? We don't get to know anything?
NOAH: Perhaps it goes to show how complicated this case is?
UNMEI: We don't even get a hint or anything. It's just…blank.
SHOUGO: It's completely fucking blank..!
NOAH: Why aren't we allowed to see his cause of death, though?
UNMEI: Well…Monokuma would usually blank out important aspects of the Monokuma File that would point out the killer.
NOAH: I can't see how the cause of death would usurper the murderer.
SHOUGO: Well, that's what we have to figure out, isn't it?
UNMEI: Alright, then… We have to look at his body, right?
NOAH: Er…indeed. We must.
SHOUGO: …Keiko?
[…Oh. Mirai's body is still…resting on my lap, isn't it?]
KEIKO: S-sorry.
NOAH: No, well… No.
UNMEI: You don't have to be Keiko, just…
KEIKO: I know, I know.
[…Okay. I guess I should take a look then.]
KEIKO: So…let's take a look at the body.
[…]
KEIKO: ...Hm?
NOAH: What's the matter?
KEIKO: There's…something strange about the body. It's like something is missing.
UNMEI: What do you mean? We don't even know how he died, how could something be missing?
KEIKO: Well, there's no blood on Mirai. Absolutely none at all.
NOAH: There's none visually on the surface, that's true. However, take a look at the state of his body.
SHOUGO: It's soaking wet…
UNMEI: So…the killer washed away all of Mirai's blood?
NOAH: No, that doesn't make any sense either. When we awoke, we were all soaked.
SHOUGO: Well, then I guess the question is why we were all soaked..?
NOAH: Indeed. What could possibly be the reason that we woke in such a condition? We'll have to figure that out fairly soon, won't we.
UNMEI: Do you have any ideas..?
NOAH: …Well, I have a faint speculation. But it's not exactly soundproof.
SHOUGO: Something's better than nothing, man. You should just say it.
NOAH: …
[What could Noah be thinking..?]
== Soaked Bodies have been added as ammunition. (2)
NOAH: However, the fact of the matter is, we still are unaware of Mirai's cause of death.
UNMEI: Maybe it's drowning?
SHOUGO: If he died by drowning, then we probably would have too, right?
UNMEI: So…maybe it's not drowning, then.
NOAH: I suppose we'd have to…examine his body in closer detail.
[…They're all staring at me.]
KEIKO: …Just go for it.
NOAH: Well…we'd figure, maybe you'd like to do it.
KEIKO: Why would I want to..? That'd probably screw with me even harder.
UNMEI: O-okay. Then…Noah, could you do it? Policeman and all?
NOAH: …Right. I'll get right on it.
[…]
NOAH: ...There's bullet wounds here.
UNMEI: B-bullet wounds? Wait, we can't use guns in this school! The bullets would break the glass!
NOAH: Regardless, these are definitely bullet wounds. There's three, in fact.
== Bullet Wounds have been added as ammunition. (3)
[Three bullet wounds…someone shot him three times? That's so cruel…]
SHOUGO: I guess they'd have to have done it somewhere during the Battle Royale then. The walls were mostly concrete down there.
NOAH: That's the logical explanation, yes.
UNMEI: Hold on, if Mirai died during the Battle Royale, does it even count as a murder?
SHOUGO: What do you mean..? Of course it's murder. He got killed regardless.
UNMEI: No, I mean, it wouldn't count as a kill towards these trials, wouldn't it? That means that Mirai was killed outside of the Battle Royale then.
Soundtrack: Mr. Monokuma's Lesson
MONOKUMA: Blasphemy!
UNMEI: Eek!
KEIKO: What do you want with us now?
MONOKUMA: You think I'd let such a juicy murder like this go by untouched? Hell no! Of course not! What do you take me for?
UNMEI: I-I mean, I just thought, with Meowykins and all…He set up that game for us all to kill each other.
MONOKUMA: Oh, you're going by the logic of that candy ass guy named Meowykins, huh? Wasn't he just filth? Wasn't he just a big fat wad of smelly, unwanted trash?
SHOUGO: But you and Meowykins weren't working together in a way?
MONOKUMA: Me? Work together with him? A partnership like that would not even be possible! I'm a wild bear, hunting the cute, helpless critters like him, foraging food for the winter! No, we never had a partnership to speak of.
KEIKO: Then why was Meowykins here in the first place anyways..?
MONOKUMA: You think I'd tell you? Well, I won't! That's top secret! That's hush-hush information!
KEIKO: …
MONOKUMA: We bears are very honest to ourselves, and my heart is telling me to not say a word. A bear can't even lie to themselves, you know! That's cause we don't have human instinct. We don't have the urges you savages do.
UNMEI: Us? Savages? What the hell are you talking about?!
MONOKUMA: Upupu! This group is especially savage! I mean, you guys only have four people left in the group, isn't that right? All you guys do is kill and die.
KEIKO: …Wait, no. That isn't right. What about Yoshinori?
MONOKUMA: As far as I'm concerned, that robot is on full death mode. I can't consider someone so wildly different to be a student of mine!
UNMEI: But… is she alive?
MONOKUMA: Who knows? I don't really care. As far as I'm concerned, she was down in the catacombs when everything was going down.
KEIKO: The catacombs..? Is that where we were before?
MONOKUMA: We tried to come up with a more creative name, but then decided it didn't really matter.
[Yoshinori was down in the catacombs? Does that mean she's still there now?]
== The Catacombs has been added as ammunition. (4)
NOAH: We're steering way off course here. We won't find out more from Monokuma in regards to Yoshinori.
UNMEI: So…this murder counts towards a class trial then?
MONOKUMA: Well, duh. Why else would you be investigating? For fun? You heard the corpse discovery announcement too, didn't you?
KEIKO: …So, can we go into the catacombs now?
MONOKUMA: …Huh?
KEIKO: Can you take us to the museum and let us in the catacombs? The entrance was in there, wasn't it?
MONOKUMA: …
KEIKO: Monokuma..?
MONOKUMA: U-um, well, you see… Uguu… I can't let you in right now! Don't go near it! Don't even go in it!
KEIKO: Why not..? We need to investigate, and the murder happened down there, didn't it? The hell are not letting us in for?
MONOKUMA: W-well, that's a secret! Top secret! Hush-hush information!
NOAH: You won't let us in right now? Does that mean you can let us in later?
MONOKUMA: N-no, well, yeah… You guys need to for this trial, I suppose…
UNMEI: So when can we go in..?
MONOKUMA: When it's ready! When I'm ready to reopen the catacombs to all these guests!
KEIKO: …Okay, when is that?
MONOKUMA: Top secret! Hush-hush information!
KEIKO: …
MONOKUMA: Though, I will say one thing though. You may not like what you'll find in there..!
KEIKO: What do you mean? Of course we won't – that's where Mirai was murdered.
MONOKUMA: Well, I can't spoil the surprise. I'm just giving you a bit of mercy here!
NOAH: Mercy..?
MONOKUMA: As in, you guys might just wanna die and give up now? Do you really want to see what went on down there?
KEIKO: Of course we don't… but we have to, don't we?
MONOKUMA: Tch. You guys don'thave to do anything. As far as I'm concerned, you can all sit in a circle and play spin the bottle until the trial starts. It's just that I can't wait for the despair that will follow…
KEIKO: What despair..? What are you even talking about?
MONOKUMA: You see...when your bonds all fail, you'll be clamoring for the last bits of hope you have left! And maybe, just maybe, they never existed in the first place. Upupu...
[And with a final "upupupu," Monokuma disappeared in thin air…]
Soundtrack: Ekoroshia
KEIKO: …I wonder what that was all about.
NOAH: Curious. Why can't he let us into the catacombs just yet..? Did something happen down there?
UNMEI: Maybe it's because Yoshinori is down there? Isn't she roaming around in her "death mode" or whatever?
NOAH: Well, I don't want to be down there with that going around. Whatever Monokuma has to do, we should just give him time to do it.
SHOUGO: But then what can we do now?
NOAH: Well, he said the catacombs were closed, but it seems like a good idea to check the museum itself to see if there are any hints.
KEIKO: Right… the museum isn't closed yet, is it?
UNMEI: But we can't stay there forever. …Actually, there was something that piqued my curiosity in the boxing ring.
NOAH: …The boxing ring?
UNMEI: Yeah. I don't know…I'm going to go over there and check it out.
NOAH: As for me…I hope you don't mind if I go over to the entrance lobby.
SHOUGO: The lobby? Why? You going to tinker with the computers?
NOAH: It's perplexing…it's truly perplexing.
[With that, Noah just shook his head and walked away.]
UNMEI: …So, where are you gonna go, Keiko?
KEIKO: I don't know…I guess I'll follow you into the boxing ring.
UNMEI: Oh, okay! We can look inside there together.
SHOUGO: I guess I'll go search the museum, then. I'll tell you guys if I see anything off.
UNMEI: So, should we head off then?
[With that, we all split up and went our separate ways.]
Location: Boxing Ring | Time: ? | 12 DAYS LEFT
[Here we are…I wonder what Unmei wanted to check out?]
UNMEI: Keiko! Over here!
[Unmei is motioning for me to walk over there…]
KEIKO: Yeah? What's up?
UNMEI: You know the supply closet that I searched when we first arrived at this dome?
KEIKO: Yeah. You said there wasn't anything strange about it.
Flashback!
UNMEI: Yeah, nothing important there. There's the usual cleaning supplies and bandages, but there's nothing that would harm us, I don't think.
KEIKO: Why are we coming back to this supply closet?
UNMEI: Well…I thought about it, and there was something that bothered me about the supply closet that I didn't notice then.
KEIKO: You know what that is?
UNMEI: Well, here's the problem…the door is locked.
KEIKO: What? Can you open it?
UNMEI: I tried to find a key around the ring…Nothing. Should we call Monokuma?
KEIKO: I mean, we could try. But why would the door be locked now? Who locked it anyways? Was it the killer?
UNMEI: I don't think it was the killer… If someone physically locked this by themselves, Monokuma would have to open this for the investigation. I think it was locked by Monokuma.
KEIKO: You think it's related to the catacombs?
UNMEI: I think so. But… I don't understand why. First off, the catacombs are on a lower floor than where we are, right?
KEIKO: …You know, I'm actually not sure.
UNMEI: Hmm…okay, let's go over the format of this dome right now.
KEIKO: Well, right now, we're on the second floor. The only thing we saw at the first floor were the computers.
UNMEI: To get to the catacombs, you need to go through the strip club into the museum, and then take the entrance down there.
KEIKO: …And presumably, we were taken down a floor, right?
UNMEI: Does that mean the catacombs are on the first floor? And does it relate to the locked closet on this floor?
[…Huh. This dome may be more complex than we thought.]
== Locked Supply Closet has been added as ammunition. (5)
== Final Dome Layout has been added as ammunition. (6)
KEIKO: That reminds me…I don't actually physically remember going down into the catacombs.
UNMEI: Neither do I. I remember running into a gate, and then being knocked out. Then I woke up in a cell.
KEIKO: I was in a cell too… I guess everyone woke up in a cell then? And Yoshinori was roaming the halls?
UNMEI: Guess so. I'm surprised no one ran into her, though.
KEIKO: I'm not so sure about that.
UNMEI: Why do you say that?
KEIKO: I don't know…just a feeling.
UNMEI: I really want to take a look at the catacombs now… I think there's something really important down there.
KEIKO: I do too, but for now, we have to wait until Monokuma is ready, I guess.
UNMEI: Alright…
KEIKO: I'm going to go over to where Noah is at. You coming?
UNMEI: No, I think I'll stay here and see if I can figure anything else out about the door.
KEIKO: Alright. Good luck.
UNMEI: You too.
[The format of the dome and the system for the battle royale game…it seems to be really important in this case.]
Location: Final Dome Lobby | Time: ? | 12 DAYS LEFT
KEIKO: Hey, Noah. You find anything?
NOAH: …No. I'm not sure what I was trying to accomplish by searching an encrypted computer…
KEIKO: What were you trying to find..?
NOAH: …I feel like there's a reason we're not allowed in the catacombs. I was trying to figure out why. If only Yayoi were here…she might be able to hack her way into this computer.
KEIKO: …I guess we didn't really know her that well.
NOAH: Indeed.
[…]
NOAH: You know, there's actually something I want to bring up.
KEIKO: Yeah?
NOAH: As I was working on the computer, I checked my ElectroID for the time. For no particular reason, but the time was stuck at 24:00.
KEIKO: So midnight.
NOAH: But…it's been stuck in that state for at least thirty minutes.
KEIKO: The time stopped..? Does that have anything to do with the murder?
NOAH: No, I doubt it. I'm just curious, is all. Do you mind checking your ElectroID?
KEIKO: Sure…
[…Hey, mine's at 24:00 too! What's going on?]
NOAH: Strange…very strange.
KEIKO: Yeah…I don't really get it myself.
NOAH: Well, I don't suppose I'd get new information by standing around here. However, I did notice something strange while looking at the computer.
KEIKO: Yeah?
NOAH: Yes. There was a map saved inside the computer of this floor's layout. There's something curious about several spots in this dome.
KEIKO: Being?
NOAH: One, there are a couple lines that resemble a pathway located in the boxing ring.
[The boxing ring..? That's where Unmei was checking the supply closet! Maybe the closet is related to the catacombs!]
NOAH: Two, there are similar lines that trace off the side of the underwater military base.
[Does the military base lead to the catacombs as well, then..?]
NOAH: And finally, while you'd expect a similar pattern extending to the museum…
[…Right, because that's how we got into the catacombs. Through the museum.]
NOAH: There was absolutely nothing else inside the museum. The museum is listed as a dead end.
KEIKO: What..?
NOAH: The map is saying there should be nowhere to go from inside the museum, but…that's doubtful to me. How else did we get inside?
KEIKO: Wait, but that doesn't make sense. Yeah, we got knocked out, so maybe we could have been taken to the boxing ring or the military base…
NOAH: Yeah?
KEIKO: But I specifically remember there being an opening inside the museum. We ran inside, then got knocked out.
NOAH: …Perhaps the map is just faulty.
KEIKO: …You know, I'm not so sure.
== Map has been added as ammunition. (7)
NOAH: I admit, I'm just as stuck as you are.
KEIKO: …Maybe we should go over to the museum right now?
NOAH: I also would like to visit the military base. Perhaps if I can't find an alternative path, the lines on the map didn't mean anything important.
KEIKO: Okay, I'll meet you there. I'll just check out the museum first.
NOAH: Alright. Go ahead.
[This is strange…With the supply closet door locked, the lines on the map have to mean something. But then why wasn't there anything written for the museum?]
Location: Museum | Time: ? | 12 DAYS LEFT
KEIKO: Shougo, did you find anything?
SHOUGO: Um, not really. The museum is pretty much the same. Except…
[He looked at the south side of the museum. Tape with emblems of Monokuma's face were plastered onto the wall.]
KEIKO: Why is there so much Monokuma tape..?
Soundtrack: Mr. Monokuma's Lesson
MONOKUMA: It's so dirty cheats like you can't force their ways into the catacombs without my permission!
KEIKO: What..? How would we even get in? You literally taped up a solid wall.
MONOKUMA: Upupu, that's not true, now is it? I overheard you with Noah. You remember going inside a gate of some sort, don't you?
KEIKO: Well, yeah. Then does that mean there is an opening inside the museum?
MONOKUMA: Mayyybe…
KEIKO: Does that mean the map is faulty?
MONOKUMA: Mayyybe…
KEIKO: …Is it at all related to the supply closet?
MONOKUMA: Mayybe…
KEIKO: …Okay.
MONOKUMA: Don't get so crotched up. I'm going to give you enough time to search the catacombs as well. I just need to get it ready.
KEIKO: What could possibly have happened that you can't let us in there now?
MONOKUMA: I can't tell. Top secret. Hush-hush information.
SHOUGO: But…
MONOKUMA: No "but's!" You can't go in right now! That's final!
[With that, Monokuma walked towards the taped up wall, and just stood there with his arms crossed.]
Soundtrack: Ekoroshia
KEIKO: What's his deal? Why won't he let us into the catacombs?
SHOUGO: I don't know. What could have happened..?
KEIKO: Anyways, I guess you didn't find anything
SHOUGO: Well, I did notice something strange on that side of the wall.
[Shougo pointed towards the west side of the museum wall.]
SHOUGO: You see that huge crack there?
KEIKO: Yeah. That's weird.
SHOUGO: And there's an outline that looks like a portrait. I think a portrait is missing.
KEIKO: I mean, that could mean anything.
SHOUGO: Yeah, but then I remembered, Mirai disappeared when Meowykins was starting up the Battle Royale game.
Flashback!
Startled, I took a look around. Mirai was nowhere to be seen. I guess he just wandered off on his own somewhere.
KEIKO: What are you thinking..? That there's like… a hidden wall, somewhere? And Mirai went inside it?
SHOUGO: Maybe. I don't really know. It's a weird theory, but I walked over there and Monokuma made me go back to the entrance.
KEIKO: Monokuma would let you examine the crack..?
SHOUGO: So I thought like…maybe there's a room in the museum that lead to the catacombs. Like a secret entrance.
KEIKO: Did you as Monokuma?
SHOUGO: Yeah, but, he didn't tell me anything.
KEIKO: Huh…
==Crack on the Wall has been added as ammunition. (8)
KEIKO: I've actually been walking around the first floor, and the layout of this dome is really strange and confusing.
SHOUGO: Oh yeah?
KEIKO: Yeah. The supply closet is locked, meaning we can't go inside. Now Monokuma won't let you investigate that crack. And Noah is down at the military base checking if there's anything strange there.
SHOUGO: You think that they all lead down into the catacombs..?
KEIKO: Maybe. It's just a guess, but I think they're all related somehow.
SHOUGO: …Huh. That's weird.
KEIKO: I'm going down to the military base now to meet up with Noah. You want to come?
SHOUGO: Yeah, I'll tag along, I guess. There's nothing for me to do here.
KEIKO: Alright, let's go.
[…Wait a minute, what's that in the corner of the room?]
SHOUGO: Is that…a bullet?
== Stray Bullet has been added as ammunition. (9)
KEIKO: A bullet…Mirai was shot three times, wasn't he?
SHOUGO: Well, not necessarily. Noah found three gun wounds on Mirai, but that doesn't mean that the gun fired only three times.
KEIKO: But if there's one bullet here…
[…]
KEIKO: There's blood on it too! What the hell?
[I thought the murder location was in the catacombs..! What's a bloody bullet doing on the floor here? And if the murder location isn't the catacombs…then why aren't we allowed in there?]
Location: Underwater Military Base | Time: ? | 12 DAYS LEFT
KEIKO: Noah, did you find anything?
NOAH: Yes, actually. I did. You see that hatch down there on the floor?
[Noah pointed to the middle of the military base and pointed out the hatch on the floor.]
NOAH: This hatch? It's locked as well.
KEIKO: The hatch is locked too, huh?
NOAH: I can't say for sure, but perhaps the supply closet, museum, and this base are somehow related to one another.
SHOUGO: It could just be a coincidence though, couldn't it?
NOAH: …I suppose so. It's not odd – the computer in the middle had a lot of important information.
SHOUGO: What are you saying..?
NOAH: I'm saying, these locked entryways may not be related to the murder… but they may be related to places that explain why we're in this mess in the first place.
SHOUGO: This mess..?
NOAH: As in… the school killings. Perhaps that's why there's no mark on the map inside the museum.
[…Is that really true? Could these entryways lead to important information?]
== Hatch has been added as ammunition. (10)
== Locked Entryway Relevance has been added as ammunition. (11)
NOAH: I'd say… we investigated to the best of our ability.
KEIKO: Yeah. I guess we should just wait until Monokuma opens up the catacombs. I just…You guys want to stay here for a second? I need to run back to the first dome quickly.
NOAH: For what purpose..?
KEIKO: I don't know… I just want to visit Mirai's dorm room one more time.
NOAH: Oh… of course.
SHOUGO: You want any of us to come with you..?
KEIKO: You guys can come if you want…I just need to say goodbye to Mirai. In a way that's not…speaking to a dead corpse.
NOAH: No, it'll be best if we leave you alone. We'll meet you back at the museum when the time comes.
[I nodded, and headed to the submarines. Calling Monokuma, he took me back to the first dome where I headed towards Mirai's dorm room…]
Location: Mirai's Dorm | Time: ? | 12 DAYS LEFT
Music Halts
…Mirai's dorm. I think I've only been here once. When I confessed to Mirai about what I did to Kirei and Furo. That's all over now, though. I have to forget about what's going on…don't I?
I walked around the dorm room, just skimming around, looking at some of his belongings. He didn't have much…I just wanted something that resembled him the most. Something that would help me move on from his death. To be honest, I don't really know what I was looking for. What could possibly help me move on..? I would remember Mirai's death for the rest of my life.
Sulking to myself, my eyes focused on the cabinet located next to his bed. On the top was…a journal.
"A journal, huh?" I said to myself, picking it up. I opened the cover, and started to skim through what he wrote.
I met a nice lady named Keiko today. She's really kind and smart… Something about her makes me feel good inside. Could she be my Master..? I called her Master a few times, and she didn't seem to mind. But what is a "master?" If she's my Master, that means I have to listen to anything she wants to say, and I have to help her when she's in times of stress. I guess I wouldn't mind doing that. Because I think…she has the potential to be my first friend.
Mirai…
My first friend? I think it's Master. Masters aren't really your friend though. I'm not exactly her servant, but… I want to make her happy! She's been so nice to me, and I don't remember anything about myself. That's why she said she'd help me regain my memories…So far, we haven't really done anything, but that's nobody's fault. Monokuma is making everyone kill everyone, and…It's really sad. Whenever someone gets executed, I get really sad inside. I wonder if that's normal.
…
Master told me something worrisome today. She said that during the vote of who to kill in the third trial – she's the one who decided both Furo and Kirei should die. I was really shocked, and even disappointed. But she seemed really upset and guilty about it. And she's my Master… She was crying really hard when she was hugging me. So I decided to believe that she didn't do it on purpose. There has to be something going on… I trust Master. She wouldn't lie to me.
Mirai…I can't believe…
…
What, what is this?
…Also, it's not just that I trust Master. I do, I really do. It's just… Is Keiko's behavior linked to that one thing I remember about my past?
...What? What do you mean, Mirai? What do you remember..? What did you remember?
Maybe it is…and I feel really bad that I didn't tell Master when she was crying. I didn't want to ruin the moment…I was able to make her happy.
…Master always tells me I can call her "just Keiko." And when Masters do that, that means they trust you unconditionally, because they think that someone below you is fit enough to call them by their first name. So in that case, I'll clear my conscience here for now. I'll write down what I remember, and I'll be sure to tell Master what I remembered later. I have to. She was honest with me, so why shouldn't I be honest with her?
That's why…what I remember…that's –
The page cutoff there. I was about to turn the page, until my vision began to fade. I began to feel woozy and sick. I could feel my legs wobble, as I dropped the journal on the bed, and slumped over Mirai's bed. My eyes started to close, and then…darkness consumed me.
