COURT IS NOW IN SESSION!

Soundtrack: Alter Ego of the New World

MONOKUMA: Now, I know you guys must be confused, what with appearing in this nice courtroom all of a sudden…

SHOUGO: How the hell did we even get here?!

MONOKUMA: Don't concern yourself with that! You're here now, aren't you? And you're ready to discuss everything you've been researching, aren't you?

KEIKO: I don't understand…

MONOKUMA: Hmm? What is it, killer girl?

KEIKO: I don't understand what we're doing here…what are we supposed to talk about?

MONOKUMA: I don't know!

KEIKO: H-huh?

MONOKUMA: You see, in all honestly, all I'm doing is waiting for someone to arrive.

[Waiting for someone?]

NOAH: …

MONOKUMA: I'm sure you're all aware of the current state you're in.

NOAH: We're all supposedly in a computer program, is that correct?

MONOKUMA: Yup. But that's an old plot twist. Something that's already been used before.

KUROKUMA: Oi! Monokuma! We never were in a computer program! Now look at us!

SHIROKUMA: Shh! Don't interrupt the trial, Kurokuma!

KUROKUMA: Why shouldn't I? I'm on edge! I was going to be the headmaster for one of these killing games!

KEIKO: Huh?

KUROKUMA: Oh? You don't know? It was supposed to be me instead of Monokuma, moderating you guys an' such.

NOAH: And why didn't you?

MONOKUMA: Now, now. We're all getting ahead of ourselves here. We can save that for the big moment!

KEIKO: Is that right? Well then, what are we supposed to discuss now?

MONOKUMA: Well, you never cracked the mystery of Mirai's first death, have you?

UNMEI: Huh? How Mirai died?

MONOKUMA: We never finished the trial, because we thought we had completed our mission.

KEIKO: So…you want us to crack the mystery of how Mirai died, first?

MONOKUMA: You don't have to if you don't want to. I told you, all I'm doing is waiting for a certain someone before we really kick things into gear.

NOAH: In other words, we can just stay silent and not discuss anything if we really want to.

MONOKUMA: If the silent game is your solution, then knock yourselves out.

KEIKO: …But, I want to know. I want to know how I killed Mirai and Yoshinori.

UNMEI: I-if I remember, you said Keiko was the one who killed the two? But isn't it possible Monokuma was just lying?

MONOKUMA: Nope. I was 100% serious when I said that Keiko was the perpetrator.

KEIKO: I want to figure it out…I need to. I need to know how I killed them!

MONOKUMA: Huh? That's what you want..? Do you even remember the bullet points?

KEIKO: Hm? Y-you mean the evidence?

MONOKUMA: Well…as your headmaster, I guess I wouldn't mind giving you the evidence list once more.

Flashback!

::1 | Monokuma File No. 5 | Review files again?

::2 | Soaked Bodies | It seemed like everyone was soaked when they woke up in the ballroom.

::3 | Bullet Wounds | There were three bullet wounds found on Mirai.

::4 | The Catacombs | Where the "Battle Royale" took place. Yoshinori was apparently not retrieved. Monokuma had to spend time "fixing" it.

::5 | Locked Supply Closet | There was a locked supply closet in the boxing ring.

::6 | Final Dome Layout | |wzIGCT8

::7 | Map | A map was found within the computer database at the entrance lobby. It's highly probable that this map is faulty.

::8 | Crack on the Wall | There was a large crack on the wall inside the museum. Was it linked to Mirai's initial disappearance..?

::9 | Stray Bullet | There was a stray bullet found inside the museum.

::10 | Hatch | There was a hatch found in the Underwater Military Base. Similar to the supply closet, the hatch was locked.

::11 | Locked Entryway Relevance | The map found inside the computer base did not mention any possible alternate routes to these locked doors.

::12 | Mirai's Missing Bag | Mirai's goodie bag inside his cell was nowhere to be found.

::13 | Battle Royale Rules | The rules of the battle royale game.

::14 | Mirai's Transaction History | Mirai bought information instead of buying any other weapons or supplies.

::15 | Yoshinori's Status | Yoshinori was widely not considered to be a student due to her highly sabotaged state.

::16 | Monokuma's Testimony | Monokuma assures that none of the evidence was tampered with, and all information necessary to fairly proceed the trial was present.

::17 | Encounter with Mirai | Shougo had a talk with Mirai, where Mirai mentioned having to talk with Keiko about something.

::18 | Culprit Versus Yoshinori | How was it possible for the culprit to have taken Yoshinori down?

::19 | Glass Fragments | Glass fragments were present to the side of Yoshinori's body.

::20 | Concrete Walls | Underneath the glass walls and ceilings are a thick layer of concrete.

::21 | Yoshinori's Gatling Gun | Yoshinori's pre-built gatling gun was found separated from her body.

::22 | Rope | There were two pieces of rope found underneath Yoshinori's body.

::23 | Cracked Ceiling | The ceiling in the Testing Facility was found to have been cracked.

::24 | Future Foundation Rehabilitation Project | According to a report found on the computer, a rehabilitation project was initiated, forcing everyone to participate in this online world.

::25 | Cuts on Mirai's Body | A large amount of cuts were found underneath Mirai's clothes. His clothes were not ripped, making the origin of these cuts come into question.

::26 | Missing Weapons | The weapons inside the weapons locker were mostly missing.

::27 | Killcode Instructions | Instructions to disable Yoshinori were found inside a weapons locker. A keypad on the back of her neck is the key – imputing a code will force her to shutdown.

::28 | Condition of Ruins | The ruins were all astray and in shambles.

::29 | Doors | Two doors to the side of the rock in the middle were found. Their purpose is largely unknown.

::30 | Excerpt from Mirai's Diary | Mirai seemed determined to find a certain place within the final dome, in order to "end" something.

NOAH: Now, as far as I remember, we had only gotten up to the point where we discovered we were in a virtual reality, correct?

KEIKO: And that was supposed to lead us to the real truth of Mirai's death.

UNMEI: Um, everyone came back to the trial too, but they all had different personalities.

MONOKUMA: Now, now. That's unrelated to the murder.

UNMEI: H-huh?

MONOKUMA: As a little helping ground, let me remind you of a discrepancy you guys faced while you were investigating!

KEIKO: A discrepancy..?

ANSWER THE QUESTION: What was the discrepancy Monokuma is talking about?

- The battle royale arena being shut down.

- The museum.

- The boxing ring.

KEIKO: This is it!

KEIKO: It was the fact that we weren't allowed back into the battle royale arena for a while, right?

MONOKUMA: Indeed! And let me give you a little hint. The reason why you weren't allowed into the battle arena was because I needed to clean something up.

UNMEI: Huh? Clean something up..?

MONOKUMA: I'm sure you're aware of the fact that as the headmaster, I have complete control over everything that goes on here, right?

KUROKUMA: That could've been me…

KEIKO: Complete control…even with us, right?

MONOKUMA: Yup! And let me tell you, I can make it so that somethings never really happened at all.

KEIKO: I don't understand…

MONOKUMA: What I needed to clean up, was something very naughty that the killer, Keiko, did.

SHOUGO: Naughty?

MONOKUMA: Very naughty! Not sexually…but naughty.

KEIKO: Um…

MONOKUMA: One biiiiig hint…the killer did something that would have taken out everyone.

KEIKO: I did that..?

[What…what is he talking about..?]

==PHASE ONE==

Nonstop Debate!

Usable Ammunition:

::1 | The Catacombs

::2 | Concrete Walls

::3 | Yoshinori's Gun

::4 | Soaked Bodies

::5 | Cracked Ceiling

NOAH: What is something that could potentially kill everyone here?

SHOUGO: The killer…could have just gone on a killing spree?

UNMEI: Maybe Yoshinori got to everyone?

NOAH: The only possible way to wipe everyone effectively…

NOAH: =…is if the dome was somehow destroyed.=

SHOUGO: H-huh?! Destoyed?

UNMEI: That's impossible..! What do you mean destroyed?

KEIKO: I concur!

Ammunition Used: Soaked Bodies

Soundtrack: Class Trial Dawn Edition

KEIKO: It's possible that the dome was destroyed…

UNMEI: …Ehhhhh?!

SHOUGO: But that doesn't make any sense. If the dome was destroyed, then we wouldn't even be here, right?

KEIKO: I also think that the word destroyed is a bit of an exaggeration…

KEIKO: I think it's possible the dome could have been flooded.

UNMEI: Huh? Flooded?

KEIKO: Remember when we woke up in the ballroom and discovered Mirai's body?

NOAH: I see. We were all soaked, weren't we?

KEIKO: But why would we be soaked..? We'd be soaked…because someone flooded the dome.

UNMEI: But how would the dome be flooded like that?

MONOKUMA: Keep in mind that the domes you're all in are made of glass. You're completely submerged underwater.

NOAH: So, logically, if someone breaks a panel of glass, water surrounding the dome would come rushing inwards.

SHOUGO: Isn't it still a big stretch to say that someone broke the glass and flooded the dome?

MONOKUMA: Hmm? Nope. Because that's exactly what happened.

KEIKO: R-really?

MONOKUMA: Keiko over here broke some glass, flooded the domes, but you know, it wasn't to kill everyone.

KEIKO: W-well, what did I do all that for?

MONOKUMA: To wipe away evidence!

KEIKO: …Huh?

MONOKUMA: If a dome was flooded, then there would be no way whatsoever to investigate a crime scene. Because everything would be underwater.

UNMEI: That's still not possible though…I mean, let's say the dome was flooded. But we went to the battle arena to investigate anyways, and it obviously wasn't flooded at the time.

MONOKUMA: That's easily explainable…

KEIKO: …

KEIKO: Did you use backups..?

UNMEI: H-huh? Backups?

MONOKUMA: You see, when something important in the system happens, like a murder or trial, the program automatically creates a backup. Or, in other words, a save point, so to speak.

UNMEI: S-so you're saying that Keiko broke the glass, flooded the dome, and then you were forced to pull out the save point?!

MONOKUMA: Yup!

MONOKUMA: The program created a savepoint when Mirai died. Then, Keiko flooded the dome. After, I was forced to open up the backup that was created when Mirai died.

UNMEI: I-I don't understand.

NOAH: However, there are still inconsistencies with that statement.

MONOKUMA: Like?

NOAH: If the save point was created when Mirai died, then the flooding should never have happened.

MONOKUMA: True! But, remember, I am the headmaster! And I can do anything I want to the dome!

MONOKUMA: Simply put, after I loaded the backup, I took the time to recreate the crime.

KEIKO: Recreate..?

MONOKUMA: I killed Mirai exactly as Keiko did! I broke the dome exactly as Keiko did! And then to emulate that, I made everyone soaked!

UNMEI: H-huh…

KEIKO: Is…is that really all that happened in this case?

MONOKUMA: Well, no. I'm breezing over what you did with Yoshinori.

KEIKO: …What did I do?

KUROKUMA: Oi! Monokuma! Aren't you being a bit to revealing right now?

MONOKUMA: So? Who cares if they know? The spirit of murder mysteries are all lost on me now.

KEIKO: But we need to know what happened to them! I need to know what I did!

MONOKUMA: I'm telling you what you did!

MONOKUMA: Anyways, you retrieved weapons for the weapons locker…

MONOKUMA: …disabled Yoshinori, and then you absolutely wrecked her.

MONOKUMA: And then you killed Mirai. You found him, shot him, and then that's history. You surrounded him in one of the rooms of the domes…and then you shot Mirai. Multiple times.

MONOKUMA: So many times, that in fact, the glass walls that surrounded you guys broke, and flooded the dome.

KEIKO: …

MONOKUMA: But really, this doesn't matter. How you killed her is beyond me, now. I don't really care.

MONOKUMA: What I am interested in, is the situation regarding all of you guys..!

NOAH: …Specifically, that we're in a program?

MONOKUMA: Aren't you just the least bit curious in who's running the show here..? I know I am..!
KEIKO: Do you mean the puppetmaster in this case?

MONOKUMA: The puppetmaster…the one pulling the strings behind this program, and behind this killing game. Who could it be?

Soundtrack: A Dead End to the Ocean's Aroma

KEIKO: ...So that's it, huh?

MONOKUMA: Hmm?

KEIKO: You're not going to talk about what I did at all..?

MONOKUMA: …

KEIKO: It's like you're trying to brush it under the rug! I thought I was the one who killed Mirai and Yoshinori! Why does it suddenly not matter anymore?!

MONOKUMA: …

KEIKO: There has to be a reason why you're not letting us talk about the last murder. We went through that investigation and everything, and now all of a sudden, it doesn't matter..!

MONOKUMA: Hmm? You think I'm lying to you?

KEIKO: Huh..?

MONOKUMA: I wasn't lying. That's exactly how you killed them.

SHIROKUMA: Monokuma is a mean boy, but he isn't a liar!

KEIKO: …

[There's more to what's going on. I can feel it. What is he hiding from me..?]

Soundtrack: Discussion –BREAK-

==PHASE TWO==

Nonstop Debate!

::1 | The Catacombs

::2 | Yoshinori's Gatling Gun

::3 | Rope

::4 | Cracked Ceiling

::5 | Doors

MONOKUMA: I'm telling you, that's all that happened.

MONOKUMA: Upupu…unless you think I'm hiding something.

NOAH: You say that Keiko…

NOAH: …disabled Yoshinori's control panel…

NOAH: and then found Mirai…and shot him, using the weapons for the weapons locker.

MONOKUMA: That's correct!

KEIKO: But something doesn't add up there!

MONOKUMA: Why not?

KUROKUMA: Is it cause she's a big busted robot?

MONOKUMA: Oh c'mon, Keiko. ==You think it's impossible to disable her like that?==

KEIKO: You've got that wrong!

Ammunition Used: Yoshinori's Gatling Gun

Soundtrack: Class Trial – Future Part

KEIKO: …You say that I disabled Yoshinori when she was in robot form. But that's impossible!

MONOKUMA: Hm?

KEIKO: She's a robot! She's equipped with a freaking gatling gun!

MONOKUMA: …

KEIKO: If I wanted to disable her, she would have known and then shot me with it!

MONOKUMA: …Not exactly.

KEIKO: H-huh?

MONOKUMA: I told you, didn't I? I'm not a liar.

UNMEI: So you're saying there had to be a way for Keiko to sneak up on Yoshinori, and then shut her off..?

MONOKUMA: Hmm?

Soundtrack: A Dead End to the Ocean's Aroma

MONOKUMA: She didn't sneak up on Yoshinori. Nor did she fight her.

UNMEI: W-what?

MONOKUMA: Upupupu…let me tell you how she shut Yoshinori off.

MONOKUMA: All she did, was walk up to her, and then shut her off using that nifty control panel.

KEIKO: W-what? But she was in full killing mode! How would I just walk up to her like that?

MONOKUMA: Hm? Don't you know, Keiko?

KEIKO: H-huh?

MONOKUMA: You should know. Why Yoshinori would just stop attacking you, and follow your every whim.

KEIKO: …

[T-tch…what is this..? I'm getting a pounding headache all of a sudden…]

KEIKO: U-ugh..! W-what's going on..?

MONOKUMA: …Oopsie. Maybe I went too far.

KEIKO: …U-ugh…ahhhhhhhgh!

Flashback!

YOSHINORI: …Kill, kill, kill.

KEIKO: …

YOSHINORI: …Hm. Target acquired. Attacking -

KEIKO: …

YOSHINORI: …T-threat level, low.

KEIKO: …

KEIKO: Upupu…

YOSHINORI: …Is that you?

KEIKO: You can't kill me…

YOSHINORI: Yes, master…

KEIKO: All you can do, is sit tight and be a good little girl.

YOSHINORI: Yes, master…

KEIKO: Now. I'm going to shut you off, and then kill you…and you're gonna shut up and take it, 'kay?

YOSHINORI: Yes, master…

KEIKO: Here we go…

[W-what are these memories..? Why am I suddenly remembering them now..?]

UNMEI: K-Keiko? What's wrong?

MONOKUMA: Hm? Maybe she's just remembering.

KEIKO: D-did you do something to me, Monokuma..?
MONOKUMA: Upupupu…

[…]

THUMP.

KUROKUMA: Woah! She fell to the ground! Scary!

MONOKUMA: …Whoops. I was supposed to wait for her awakening. Can't let the cat out of the bag too quickly..!

NOAH: …What's going on with her, Monokuma?

MONOKUMA: Hm? She's going through a phase. Don't worry, she'll be back up soon.

...

...

...

Soundtrack: Class Trial – Solar Edition

KEIKO: …Ah..? Is it time..?

UNMEI: S-she got up..! Are you okay, Keiko?

KEIKO: …Huh? The hell is a Keiko?

UNMEI: H-huh?

MONOKUMA: Upupupu…my apologies. I made you wake up too soon!

KUROKUMA: Yay! She's arrived!

SHIROKUMA: Here she comes..!

KEIKO: Oh, were you guys waiting for me..? I'm not particularly fond with the idea of entertaining you three, today.

SHOUGO: She's talking to the bears…

KEIKO: …Oh? Are these three the survivors?

NOAH: Are you referring to us?

KEIKO: Hm.

SHOUGO: What's wrong with you, Keiko? Snap out of it!

KEIKO: Keiko..? Is that my name..?

UNMEI: What's going on with her, Monokuma?!

MONOKUMA: Nothing. She's completely normal.

KEIKO: Day after day after day after day after day after day of being suppressed and unable to show my true colors…

KEIKO: I must say, I wasn't aware of what was going on in the surface. Though I am disappointed at the final roster, here.

MONOKUMA: Sorry to wake you up early!

KEIKO: Monokuma…you were supposed to awaken me once the installation was complete. That was the plan.

MONOKUMA: So true…so true. I just got caught up with the passion of your alter ego!

SHOUGO: A-Alter ego?

NOAH: Wait a minute…what are you saying, Monokuma?

KEIKO: Allow me to explain, 9-0-2-1-0.

NOAH: …

KEIKO: This…Keiko girl? I have no idea who she is.

KEIKO: She's not a facet of me in anyway whatsoever.

NOAH: What are you talking about?

KEIKO: …Have you ever seen Sybil?

NOAH: Sybil..?

KEIKO: It's a stupendous film about a disturbed lady who suffers from multiple personalities...Unfortunately for poor Sybil, her main personality isn't aware of the others that reside within her.

KEIKO: …I'm not like Sybil.

UNMEI: W-wait, you have multiple personalities..?

KEIKO: No…this is me. This is who I truly am.

UNMEI: I-I don't get it..!

MONOKUMA: Upupupu…you're not supposed to get it.

KEIKO: I would let you know of my real name, but unfortunately, the time hasn't arrived for my true colors to show. In fact, this is rather early.

MONOKUMA: …Indeed.

KEIKO: …Monokuma, what should I do now? Is all I can do wait?

MONOKUMA: No, you're going to return as Keiko soon.

KEIKO: I see.

MONOKUMA: One more thing before you go…

KEIKO: Yes?

MONOKUMA: Would you mind confirming the Mirai murder mystery for me..?

KEIKO: …Who?

UNMEI: M-Mirai! Your best friend! That you apparently killed!

KEIKO: …Ah, you mean Keiko's best friend.

UNMEI: W-what?

KEIKO: …Let me tell you guys something, before the real climax starts. It was not Keiko who killed Mirai…

NOAH: Are you saying that this alternate personality of yours…

KEIKO: This is the main personality, but yes. I am the one who killed that robot girl, and "Keiko's" little friend.

KEIKO: I don't know if Mirai was aware of the fact that I had changed into this form…but I can tell you, Yoshinori definitely knew.

SHOUGO: Yoshinori didn't attack you…because she recognized you?

KEIKO: She recognized this personality of mine. Or rather, this…stench that I possess.

SHOUGO: …

KEIKO: Let me explain what happened.

KEIKO: I had cornered Yoshinori inside that locker you found her in. Bunker. Whatever it was. And as she began to attack, she realized who I truly was.

KEIKO: She stopped moving after, and she let me disassemble her. Soon after, I took the weapons from the weapons locker, found Mirai, who had escaped through the program…

SHOUGO: T-the program?

KEIKO: …and then, I shot him. Multiple times. In that wonderful, glass room, that busted from the inside and let the water come rushing in.

MONOKUMA: See? Her testimony matches mine completely!

KEIKO: Indeed.

MONOKUMA: …Now, then. The mystery of Mirai's death was solved..!

UNMEI: I-is that really all that happened?

KEIKO: I do not work with death in a complicated way. Plus, it wasn't necessary for me to stage a crime scene in my current state.

KEIKO: I knew that this body would never die.

UNMEI: W-what?

KEIKO: …Did you want to execute me? For killing poor Mirai and Yoshinori?

UNMEI: …

MONOKUMA: Now, now. That's enough. Save that for later.

KEIKO: Yes…indeed. I should really get back.

KEIKO: W-what happened..?

MONOKUMA: Aaaand Keiko's back!

KEIKO: W-what?

UNMEI: …

NOAH: …

SHOUGO: …

KEIKO: D-did something happen?

MONOKUMA: Upupu…

SHIROKUMA: Um, Ms. Keiko..?

KEIKO: H-huh..?

SHIROKUMA: It looks like you let your alter ego out.

KEIKO: M-my what..?

[Alter ego..? Y-you mean that personality that made me kill Furo and Kirei..?]

KEIKO: N-ngh…why..?

UNMEI: U-um, is that why Keiko killed them? Furo, Kirei, Yoshinori, Mirai…because of that alternate personality she has?

MONOKUMA: Basically.

KEIKO: …Why…why am I like this?!

MONOKUMA: Why indeed! If you really want to know…it looks like our special guest has arrived.

KEIKO: H-huh..?

JUNKO: …Wow! After so long, I get to come back again, don't I? Except this time I'm an AI again. That's kinda boring.
