Look How Far We Have Come.
Well here is the next update you have all been waiting for, as you may have seen I have a little bit of competition for this story and I love those! Anyway so here you are. Haruhi is about 3 weeks pregnant and in no way showing.
Also you will find that I'm kinda neglecting the other characters and focusing on Hikaru, Haruhi and Tamaki, also little bits of Nanako, although the other characters will only have small parts in the story.
Enjoy!
Chapter 7: Shit
It had been around two weeks since Haruhi found out she was pregnant with Tamaki's baby, two weeks since Haruhi's life had been turned upside down. She wouldn't talk to anyone she would do her job at the host club and leave without the smallest of good byes. The whole host club was worried about her health and well-being, she usually looked pale and sickly.
There was no improvement on Tamaki's end of the line either he wouldn't talk to anyone except his newly acquainted fiancé and grandmother when told to or called to her office. Wherever Tamaki was Nanako wasn't far behind, she was determined to keep her fiancé and there was no way the host club or Haruhi was ever gonna take him away from her, she was sure of it.
"Haruhi!" Shouted a voice from the far side of the hall way. Haruhi's head snapped towards the direction of witch her name came from, only to come face to face with an auburn haired twin.
"Oh, hey Hikaru." Haruhi said, face becoming impartial to the looks of the worry the boy was shooting her.
"Um, ye hey, did you… you know… tell your dad." Hikaru said fiddling with his fingers shyly. Haruhi's heart dropped, she was supposed to tell her dad at dinner last night… or at least that's what she told her friend's at the host club.
"Well, not exactly." She said still keeping a steady tone to her voice.
"What do you mean 'Not exactly'? Haruhi you're going to have to tell his sooner or later!" Now it was Haruhi's faces turn to fall.
"I know, I know, I just… every time I bring up…" Haruhi looked around for any by passers that might try and listen to host club gossip. Unfortantly the whole hall way was packed up to the brim with students rushing to get to their next class.
"You know what," She whispered, Hikaru nodded and she continued. "Well I just feel sick and I-I just can't do it."
Haruhi could now feel the tears welling up in her eyes. She had done too much crying over the last two weeks and she had said to herself last night it would be the last time.
Hikaru sensing her discomfort didn't push the matter any further and enveloped her in a warm comforting hug. Haruhi broke down into large sobs. Next time he saw Tamaki he was going to kill him for what he had done to their strong and independent Haruhi, where had that one gone?
"Hey… Hey don't cry," He said pulling her off of him, he whipped her tears and looked her in the eye. "Hey, what if I came over tonight to help you tell your dad? Would you like that?"
Haruhi looked up at him through wet eyelashes and sniffed, she brought up her yellow clad arm up to her eyes and whipped the tears away. "Yes, I would like that, thank you Hikaru," She said hugging him once again, she pulled away giving his a look of confusion. "What about Kaoru?"
Hikaru had to scramble for an answer each one in his head vying to be asked. "He's busy." He said simply. What was that!?
"Oh okay… Well we better start making our way to class before the bell goes." She said looking at her watch.
"Yes, lets." He said smiling brightly, he grabbed her hand and ran down the hall Haruhi being pulled along, tried to keep up with his quick run.
"Hey! Slow down!" She giggled, Hikaru stopped abruptly making Haruhi slam into the back of him.
"Oh, sorry!" he said blushing he then rubbing the back of his neck and giving of a nervous chuckle. "Well we should get to class, so…"
Haruhi blushed slightly. "Umm ye, lead the way!" She said giggling.
"Ok follow me!" And like that they were of giggling on their way to class like little children.
Once they got to class they saw Kaoru falling asleep at his desk and the rest of the class chatting among themselves while the teacher explained the Chines Empire's history. Tamaki would have loved this lesson. Haruhi thought to herself as she sat at her desk giving of a large sigh.
Kaoru looked at her in concern. "Are you ok?" He asked.
"Huh? What?" Haruhi said as she snapped out of her trance. "Ye I'm ok, just lost in thought I guess." She shrugged.
"Well, ok but tell me if anything wrong okay?"
"Ye sure." She said sighing once again.
Lessons were pretty much uneventful except for the one or two jokes Hikaru and kaoru would send her way, to cheer her up. Once lunch time came she rushed to her locker with the twins following suit. She needed to find that text book or she was D.E.A.D dead. Where could I have put it? It was one of her mum's old law text books from when she was at school.
She thought back to her what she had done today, maybe that held the answer. But she didn't remember having it today. Maybe yesterday. Yes! Now she remembered she was studying for an upcoming test -that was unfortunately today- in the host club she must have forgotten it when she had to rush to the supermarket for a sale.
"Hikaru, kaoru I'm going to run to the host club quickly." The twins shifted their gaze from their lockers to the brunette.
"What for?" They said in unison.
"I forgot an old text book of mine there."
"Do you want me to come with you Haruhi?" Hikaru said before his brother could open his mouth.
"Uh, no thanks' I'll only be a sec."
"Ok."
"Tamaki!"
"Yes Nanako." Tamaki sighed looking back at her.
"Where do you think you're going?"
"To the 3rd music room." Said the blond looking back in front of him. They were currently in the not-so quiet library, at Nanako's request.
"Fine but I'm coming with you" She said scoffing. As if I would let him go there without me. She stood up and followed after him.
"Whatever." They walked to the club room in a tense silence. Wherever they went students would stop their conversations and watch as they passed by feeling the tense atmosphere around the two.
"What are you going to the music room for anyway?" Nanako asked as they walked their footsteps echoing in the silent hall way.
"That is none of you concern Nanako."
"Oh, I think it is, I'm your fiancé Tamaki!" Yes she was, but that gave her no more power over him than any other person in the academy.
"You may be my fiancé but I will never love you!" He said quickening his pace but she keep up with him.
"That may be so, but I will still be your wife one day."
"Hmm, you say it like I care." He huffed, he did care he didn't want to be her husband or for her to be his wife. In his head it all seemed so wrong, this shouldn't be happening to him. He should be with Haruhi, they should be engaged, they should start a family, they should have been everything their not.
"Oh, I know you care." She teased. She liked to assume she knew everything about him that she could read him like an open book, and the truth was she was almost always right, and it annoyed Tamaki to no end.
After a while they reached the 3rd music room Tamaki opened the door slowly, taking in the smell of the sweet perfume he had missed so much.
"So, are you going to tell me exactly why we are here?" she asked tapping her foot impatiently.
"I'm here to get something."
"That's not an answer Tamaki." She said annoyance dripping from each syllable.
"Well maybe not for you, but for me it's enough"
"Tamaki!"
"Fine! Maybe I just wanted to come back, maybe I missed this place I worked so hard to make! And maybe, just maybe, I might have feelings too!" He shouted. "I didn't ask for this life! My life was just fine before you stepped in and took me away from my friends and the love of my life."
Nanako just stared she had no sassy comeback no smart remark's, Tamaki had just rendered her speechless. She already knew that he had been taken away from his friends and Haruhi, but she had no idea he was this upset about it. She had obviously known he was going to be upset. This was probably one of his plans to make her feel sorry for him and she almost feel for it. Almost.
"Your plans to make me feel sorry for you are futile you know."
"Should have known you would turn something so true into lie." He grumbled. There it was again trying to make her feel sorry for him.
She walked past him taking a seat on a red sofa, twirling a piece of brown hair between her nimble fingers. "You're not getting anywhere with this you know." She said crossing her arms over her chest as if to prove she wouldn't be persuaded over wise.
"Fine have it you way." He went over to her and sat down on the other side of the sofa. He sat back closing his eyes remembering all the moments he had shared with his friend in this very room all the games, all the fun, the teasing, the hugs, the tears, the love, the one thing only Haruhi could ever give him…
He heard the door open but couldn't bring himself to open his eyes, he felt soft lips over his and he kissed back imagining Haruhi lips on his, realising that was impossible his eyes snapped open and he pushed back. He came face to face with his worst nightmare Haruhi was standing at the door and Nanako was hovering above him with an evil smirk.
"Oh, umm, I'm sorry I'll come back later." Haruhi tried to stay strong but Tamaki could hear the tremble in her voice. How could he have kissed her back? That witch. The last thing Tamaki heard was the door slamming closed. What had he done?
"What did you do?!" Tamaki shouted as he shoved her off of him.
"What did I do? Oh honey you kissed back, good kissing by the way." She laughed, after all of this she's laughing. How cruel could a person be?
"Just stop!" he shouted "I'm not talking about how you could do that to me! I'm talking about how could you do that to her?!"
"Easy, now she thinks you don't love her, she gives up, and your my fiancé and soon to be husband forever."
"What?! You truly disgust me. How cou- No I already know how. I'm going. Bye princesses!" he spat and just like that he was gone.
She didn't fret too much she still had him woven around her fingers and there was no way in hell she was letting him go, not after she worked so hard to get him. She couldn't however shake of the feeling of guilt in her stomach had that really been the wisest choice? Of course! But hadn't she already had him?
"Shit!" She cursed, she quickly moved her hand to cover her mouth someone of her high standing did not curse, but something about that word felt just right. "Shit."
Haruhi rushed to class, what had she just seen? That girl straddling Tamaki and kissing him. No. this wasn't right he said he had loved her, so if that were true he wouldn't have been kissing her. She knew that she was his fiancé but if he truly loved her he wouldn't have been kissing Nanako until their wedding.
Wedding- The word alone made her feel sick. She wasn't feeling so up to a day of school now she just wanted to go home.
Once she reached her class room Haruhi stepped in gingerly. Every one's head snapped up to the watery eyed girl.
"Umm Sir could I have Hikaru for a second?" She asked timidly. The teacher stopped writing for a second and waved at Hikaru to go, and continued.
"Haruhi what's wrong?" He said once they were outside of the class.
"I'm not feeling too good I think I might go home." She said holding her stomach looking at the floor.
"Do you still want me to come over to yours?"
"Sure, If you want to." She said looking back up at him smiling weakly.
"Okay I'll be there at five, ok?"
"Ok" she said nodding. "Bye"
"Bye" he said waving as she made her Way to the school office. Once she was out of sight he sighed and walked back into class.
