Chapter 12: Rush.
Tamaki sprinted down the stairs of his mansion he needed to get to Hikaru's house before it was too late. Even though right now he hated that twins guts he was his only chance at getting his love back and he'd sacrifice anything for that right now. He called his driver while he was on his way outside so when he got there he could just jump in and go straight.
Bursting though the double doors of his home he rushed over to his awaiting car and jumped in ordering the driver to go to the Hitachiin house hold as fast as possible. Tamaki got him phone out once again to call the airport telling them to prolong all flights out the country for as long as possible and that he'd be paid as healthy amount.
Once he arrived at the house he rushed out not even stopping to look at the beautiful scenery like he always did. Banging on the door two identical maids with dark hair opened the door for him.
"Sir Tamaki what are you doing here." One asked slightly surprised at his abrupt visit and his distorted appearance.
"We weren't informed that you were visiting." Her sister added. Tamaki hands on his knees trying to catch his breath after the mad sprint lifted a hand signalling them to wait. Once he caught his breath he didn't waste any time getting to the point.
"Hikaru. Where's Hikaru."
"Up in his room young master but you should know he-" Tamaki didn't stay long enough to find out what she was going to say. He ran up the stairs his own stamina surprising him. He knew he could run but under circumstances such as this he could run even faster.
Getting to Hikaru's shared room with Kaoru he opened the door catching his breath once again. Opening the door he came face to face with the whole host club. Shit. He knew he should have waited for that maid to finish her sentence. Well no point dwelling.
All eyes were on him, deadly glares and indifferent scowls painted across their faces, slightly dishearten by the looks he looked down.
"Where's Haruhi going?" He asked as he lifted his head. His voice didn't waver like he thought and stayed strong and almost demanding.
"Why do you care?" Hikaru stood up and walked towards him, face to face in an almost threatening way. Tamaki kept his hold on the situation and looked around the room the rest of the host clubs heads down none of them wishing to make a contribution.
"I need to tell her something." He said looking Hikaru in the eye. Hikaru took a step back and… Laughed.
"Tell her what!" He laughed bitterly. "That you love her, that you want her to come home." He gave him a bitter sweet grin tears seeping from his eyes "She not coming back!" He laughed once again. Kaoru whent to get his brother to calm him down pulling him back to their bed.
How could he be so stupid! He had no idea what to say to her, he was too busy trying to find out where she was going and forgot about what to tell her when he actually got there. Damn him.
"I-I don't know," He started stuttering looking down at his fiddling hands. "But I'm going to get her back." He added confidently clenching his fist tightly in determination.
"Tamaki-Chan I don't think that's going to work, she seemed pretty determined to go last time we saw her." Huni added to the conversation quietly, looking towards Takashi who nodded. At that Tamaki looked straight at them.
"You saw her! Where is she going?" He asked frantically. They knew where she was going and probably when and they didn't say anything. Huni looked unsure and was about to reply when Hikaru cut in.
"You don't need to know!" He shouted getting out of Kaoru's strong grip shooting up once again.
"Yes I do, you don't understand anything!" He shouted back maybe even louder.
"Then explain to us!" Tamaki looked to the clock. Shit. It was two fifty he had ten minutes to get there.
"There's not enough time!" He kept glancing at the clock. "Just tell me goddamn!"
"Fine but you asked for it!" Hikaru shouted and everyone looked at him in surprise except for Tamaki who just gave him a pleading look. "She's Pregnant with your fucking baby and going to England at three o'clock! And you're not getting her back!" He finished but not before adding a cruel "Ever!"
"She's pregnant." He whispered to himself so that no one heard, what had he done?
Tamaki bowed his head looking at his wrist watch his grandfather on his mother's side had passed it down to him. He remembered that day clearly.
Clutching the watch tightly in his hand little Tamaki looked down at his withering grandpa. The old man had just placed the watch in his hand. The man motioned Tamaki to come closer so he could say his final words. Tamaki had been hesitant hoping this was all a bad dream but never the less he leant forward.
And what his grandpa said to him stayed with him. Forever.
"Always chase your dreams, no matter what"
And he had promised himself that day as he watched his grandpa and best friend close his eyes.
That he would never stop chasing his dreams.
Ever.
"I'm not going to stop chasing me dream." Tamaki said clenching his fist and talking through grinded teeth. "Just because you say it's impossible!" He shouted snapping his head up in a flare of pent up anger. "I'm not going to lose her again!"
And with that he left in a rush, maids watched as he rushed by slightly confused by the young master's behaviour. He had come in running desperately and was now running out angrily.
Getting into the car Tamaki demanded his driver to rush to the airport ASAP. Silently he bounced his right foot biting his lip trying to come up with some romantic speech that would make her stay for sure. By the time he arrived he had come up with a whole paragraph and he hoped on every star in the sky it would work.
Jumping out of the car Tamaki ran though the large door's and sprinted through all the surety witch was harder than it looked on many occasions he was caught around the waist and help back but he flashed them his id and when on. He looked desperately for her gate on the department list in the cramped waiting area.
Finding her gate he sped off in the direction of gate 5. The gate to his own personal heaven, a place with Haruhi in it. Dodging seats, tables, vending machines and people with buggies he got there without out falling or bumping into anything. Flashing the women at the gate his Id he told he he'd only be a second and she let him pass.
He ran though the long tunnel connecting one end to the other, his footsteps echoing of the dark and empty walls. He got into the airplane door but he was stopped and he explained his case. The woman giggled waving him off with good luck. Nothing interesting ever happened in their job so they found pleasure in what was to come, along with this sweaty young man.
Walking now brushing his hair back and cooling down due to the breeze that filled the chilled plane. He then realised he had no idea which seat she was it so he passed each one peering into them like a crazy man. He saw Haruhi seated at the back head buried in a book framed glasses replaced contacts.
"Haruhi!" Tamaki shouted out desperately rushing down to wear he could see her seated. "Haruhi!" He called out again in hope he would get a response, her head snapped up and her eyes widened as she lifted a hand to cover her mouth, shaking her head not believing what she was seeing could actually be real or even be happening. Tamaki just couldn't be here not now!
Once Tamaki reached her he got down on his knees. "Haruhi I'm so sorry I left without the smallest of goodbyes and I know the letter wasn't good enough but I'm begging you now to come home so we can start over!"
"I want you to come home I really enjoyed the special moments I spent with you at the Host club even though I first though you were a boy. You struck me as being mild-mannered and sophisticated. In fact, your elevated words added some seasoning to my life. Sitting by your side that day, I was totally captivated by your charm and good looks. If you noticed, I was not wholeheartedly doing my job as a host while I dotted on you. You were my total preoccupation, believe me.
"I wondered why I should ever get carried away by somebody like a commoner and so referred to you as my daughter. Are there any particular things that I was hungry for that I found in you? I don't know. I just quickly realized how exquisitely beautiful and unique you are. I must confess, I have fallen in love with you Haruhi! I watched myself slowly gravitate towards you. To me, you're a rose that should be protected from thorns, a delicate angel who needs a defender. To be your defender, I promise that I'll do whatever it takes to make you happy and keep you safe. I'm serious when I say, "I love you." Your beauty hit me with a force of a poetic sledgehammer. I love you and cherish you. You're an angel personified and I want our baby to have a father.
"Please marry me Haruhi." Tamaki got his hands out and made them into a right angled. Everyone started cheering, whistling them along while others sat in their chairs grumpily. Haruhi cupped both her cheeks tears falling from them she knew what she had to do. "Sorry I don't have your ring I was in a rush." He said shyly and people laughed slightly. She heard a 'Say Yes!' from behind her and she shook had head looking down.
She couldn't do this, even though she had gotten a scholar ship that did not include the plane ticket and her father had paid good money on it. She couldn't do it because she knew no one would accept her in the Souh family and she knew Mrs Souh would find a way to pull them apart.
"T-Tamaki I-" Haruhi sobbed in her seat head in her hands. She looked up at Tamaki's gleaming face and something in her broke and tears ran down her face faster. "I-I c-cant." She whispered.
Tamaki's face twisted in pain and confusion as he stayed on the ground. "W-what are you talking about of course you can." Tamaki said nervously.
The people seated quieted down and watched in anticipation to hear her reason. "This here- What I'm doing now is a once in a life time opportunity, and I can't just throw it away because of something so feeble." Haruhi sniffed wiping her eyes, stupid hormones. "And even if a stay my scholar ship has been terminated." There was no denying it now Haruhi was in deep and Tamaki knew he couldn't bring her back with sugar coted words.
In a last attempt to make her come home he leaped up and placed his lips onto her own. Kissing her with so much passion it hurt, the kiss was full of pain, longing and love. A love that could never die out with just distance. Star crossed lovers that's time's run out. They have passed each other and now must continue in the opposite direction.
"Please, I won't ask you again." Tamaki sucked in a deep breath to make sure what he said next would not crack nor shake. "Come home. Please."
"You know I can't." She whispered. People were now mumbling to each other slightly depressed expression across their faces.
"What about the baby?"
"I'll look after it I can do it on my own I know I can." She said determinedly.
"And this is what you want?" Tamaki asked he had to make sure this is what she wanted. He couldn't be selfish if this is what she truly wanted then he wouldn't hold her back from her dream.
"Yes."
"Ok then I guess I'm gonna- you know- Go now." He mumbled slightly dizzy from what had just happened, he had failed, he wasn't able to keep her.
Haruhi watched as he stumbled out of the airplane bumping into things as he went on his way. She lay her head back, dried her tears and let her mind wander.
Tamaki sat in the airport. He was too weak to walk back to his awaiting car and to ashamed to show his face without his Haruhi beside him. But soon he had to get up and apologise to his fiancé and grandma suck up to them and marry Nanako like a good boy.
Hikaru would probably hate him after this after all as he left the twins room he had seen a glimpse of hope in the boy's eyes. He had let everyone down, and now he was going to pay for it. Maybe this was for the best who knew what would happen if he had brought back Haruhi what then? What would he do to fix the mess? He was sure he could figure something out, maybe elope. That seemed like a good idea. His family would disown him though and then what he wouldn't be able to provide for her or their child.
He felt a small tap on his knee and looked down at the small child.
"Are you sad mister?" The little girl had large brown eyes and flowing brown hair to match. She looked so much like Haruhi. Tamaki smiled at the girl making her squirm and blush.
"I'm ok little one. May I ask who you are?"
"Oh, my name's Mika and I'm 6!" She exclaimed holding up six fingers "But my mummy call's me princess. I think she calls me that because daddy call's her his queen so I must be a little princess!" She said a bright smile etched onto her face that soon turned into a frown. "But if you're ok why are you crying. Mummy says people cry when their sad."
"I just lost someone very special to me." He said kindly rubbing her head he wondered where the child parents were but when he looked up he saw to adults watching a smile on their face as they watched over their daughter.
He imagined how it would be with Haruhi with a family like theirs Haruhi the queen and their child a little princess like the one before him.
"Well, where did they go? " She asked cocking her head to the said, then her face lit up. "I could help you find them!" She piped up.
"I don't think you can." He replied sadly thanking her anyway. She looked slightly deflated but smiled at him none the less. Suddenly he heard the little girl's name being called out and saw her turn to her parent's.
"I have to go now but mummy always say's if it's meant to be it will work out even if it takes a million years." She gestured widely then she ran off leaving Tamaki to think about what she said.
It was true. If it was true love then he'd meat Haruhi again maybe he'd get a divorce and marry her instead then he would be able to play with their child and live a happy life. He smiled to himself the mini-Haruhi had given him hope and he was grateful for it.
Someday he would be reunited with Haruhi and until that day he would live his life to the fullest. He felt another tap except this time it was on his shoulder and he looked up from his lap.
"Back already?" He asked expecting Mika to be standing in front of him but instead he was meant with a swollen stomach in front of his face.
"What are you talking about?" The person asked. That voice Haruhi!
Trailing his eyes up towards the persons face he came face to face with his love. He jumped up in surprise hugging Haruhi so tight it was becoming hard for her to breathe. Pulling back from the hug he looked over her again to make sure it was her and not his imagination.
"Why are you here?" He exclaimed continuing to look over her.
"What I thought you'd be happy to see me." Haruhi said placing a hand on her hip and smiling.
"Of course I'm happy, just I didn't expect you to be here!" He wrapped his arms around her again hugging her even harder than before burring his face into her hair.
"I just realised what was more important to me." She snuggled into his chest breathing in his slight muskiness.
"So about my question. What do you say?"
Haruhi looked up at Tamaki a huge smile stretched across her face. "Yes!" She exclaimed clinging onto him even more. "Yes! I'll marry you!"
Tamaki grabbed her face lifting her face to look at him. He brushed his warm lips over her soft ones lightly. Both closed their eyes enjoying the feeling of his lips against mine. Tamaki then felt her tongue graze against his lips and his heart began to beat louder in his ears as parted his lips for her to enter.
They kissed gently with all the love and companion they had within them. Letting all their worries go just enjoying the others touch. It was like nothing he had ever imagined before. It wasn't their first kiss but it was defiantly the best one he had yet to experience. He pulled back slowly and they both began to catch their breath.
Clapping sounded around the large area and Tamaki noticed little Mika sitting on her father's shoulders waving at him he waved back giving her a true smile.
This wasn't the end. Oh no, it was just the beginning.
