Chapter 6: Oiroke no jutsu never fails!
The air inside the autopsy room was getting more and more suffocating as the hours passed by. Helped by Shizune and Sakura, Tsunade had been examining the corpse of the immortal experiment for the whole morning, carefully opening the tissue and looking at its cells. Apparently the DNA had been modified and mixed with that of a specific salamander spices that inhabited in the rain country to acquire regenerative qualities.
"It seems this was just a prototype" Sakura commented while removing her intervention mask. "The DNA chain became unstable which means they weren't able to merge the two spices together successfully" Tsunade just nodded at her words. The woman felt completely exhausted and the tiny drops of sweat running down her forehead and the back of her neck told her it was time to have a break. Sakura seemed okay, a little tired perhaps but Shizune's movements had become quite erratic and that wouldn't be of any help.
The Hokage turned the ceiling lights on to make the others understand it was time to stop. Shizune exited the room feeling the need for fresh air and Sakura started cleaning her medical tools on the sink. "Good job, Sakura. We're almost done here" The pink haired kunoichi smiled shyly to her teacher. "The enemy probably manages to perfect the experiment though…" Tsunade placed one hand on Sakura's shoulder before speaking again "No doubt about it but if we succeed in finding a way to stop the regenerating process, it will significantly lessen our casualties on the battlefield"
Sakura finished getting everything tidy and as she was about to leave she heard some horrible cough coming from the little office next to the autopsy room and then the sound of glass smashing against the floor. She rushed to the office door and knocked as a formality though inside she felt like breaking the door apart. "Tsunade-sama, is anything wrong?" No answer. Shit, what if she lost consciousness due to the tension during the examination hours? Lately, Sakura had noticed her teacher leaving her duties halfway done stating she wasn't feeling very well and for the first time it wasn't an excuse to sneak out to drink sake, she genuinely did go home to have some rest.
It was when Sakura just finished putting her gloves on to bring down the door that she heard a faint voice "I am alright. I'm probably getting a nasty cold. I just need to rest. You better leave or you'll be late to your lessons". Sakura hesitated for a bit but then she decided to leave. Tsunade was the most skilled medical ninja in the village and probably the world so a cold wouldn't be very difficult to deal with. Besides…She feared what she will stumble across when she got back to the academy.
It wasn't until she heard her pupil's footsteps getting away that she relaxed. Tsunade was sitting on the chair inside the office, one hand covering her mouth while the other one grasped onto the broken shreds of what it had been a bottle of sake. When the cough got bad she had felt the need to grab onto something to lessen the pain but unwillingly she added too much pressure to the bottle and it broke causing cuts on her hand which were now bleeding quite a lot.
The sannin removed the hand covering her mouth and all she could say was "Shit". It was getting worse and worse. She expected her hyakugou seal to have bad side effects in the long term but still, it was frustrating to watch her own body getting weaker without being able to do something about it. She cleaned the blood on her mouth and she quickly treated the cuts. Her gaze was lost in the distance as she spoke to herself "So that's as far as I go…"
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Naruto brushed his teeth lazily this morning. He wasn't looking forward to go to a class full of annoying pre-teenagers making comments about their 'love lives'. But Sakura had asked him to do it so he had no choice. She had to analyse the corpse Kiba and Hinata brought from their last mission as soon as possible, but still…why did he have to be in a class full of girls!
Since the peace treaty, the shinobi nations agreed on training medical ninja so that in every four man cell or bigger teams, at least one of the members would have to be knowledgeable on medical ninjutsu. Sakura volunteered to become a teacher in the academy specialized in medical teaching. Other skilful medics joined the academy as well and so a new optional module was introduced into the academy.
Naruto always thought this was a great improvement but right now it felt like a curse to him. It was true that some boys decided to learn about medical ninjutsu but pretty much all of the students were girls. Girls that didn't do very well in combat and decided to become medics instead. Or girls that wanted to become as strong as the female sannin and her disciple.
The blond gargled as he rinsed his mouth. He looked at the mirror and decided to make a bit of an effort to look nice today, at the end of the day, he would spend the entire morning being observed by young ladies. He combed his hair for the first time in a week. When he was pleased with his looks, he marched straight into the bedroom to get changed and then to the kitchen.
He picked up the milk container to realise it was empty. Great, he thought. He decided to have toasts instead and as he spread the butter along the porous surface of the bread he let out a long sight "Come on Naruto, cheer up. They're just a bunch of female kids, it can't be that bad! What could go wrong? You just have to sit in there and make sure they do the work. "
Naruto opened the door to the classroom to find a multitude of girls screaming, giggling, sitting on their desks painting their nails and too occupied to pay him any attention. He just felt like running away from there but no, he would not be a coward. He stomped to the front desk and placed the books for the lesson with a loud bang, making all the girls go silent. Naruto cleared his throat.
"I am Uzumaki sensei and I am here as a substitute teacher for Haruno sensei." Whispers and complaints spread from one side of the class to the other. "Can we go home then?" Naruto opened up his text book and looked for the right page "Haruno sensei has left you work so you need to get it done before she comes back" He looked for the chalk stick to write on the black board but he couldn't find it. It wasn't on the tray Sakura had left him. That's a good start he thought ironically.
He must've been looking like an idiot, looking for the chalk because the giggling of a few girls didn't go unnoticed by his ears. "Sensei…If you're looking for the chalk sticks they are on the second drawer of the desk" The blond blushed slightly of embarrassment. "I already knew where they were. I was looking for something else".
The first hour went by quite quickly as Naruto was entertained reading a comic book but when he finished and realised there were 2 hours remaining until lunch break he felt like dying. He decided to take a walk around the classroom and examine the students work. They were taking notes on the body anatomy. What a pain, if it was me I would've sneaked out of class a long time ago. But then he was a special case. Suddenly he felt nostalgic about his academy days. He was such a brat with only one goal: recognition. He certainly achieved that, although it hadn't been easy. He grinned when he caught a girl doodling instead of taking notes. Time to be the bad guy he thought and yanked the paper off her tiny hands and squinted at the drawing.
"Kyaaa! Give it back sensei!" The girl was bright red right now. Naruto had that playful look on his face since it was probably the drawing of the boy she liked. "Give me back my Sasuke!" Sasuke? Did she say Sasuke? Naruto looked more carefully at the picture and even though the drawing wasn't very accurate nor proportionate he could easily recognise the duck butt hair style. He was also wearing the Anbu clothes so it was clear to him that the girl had just drawn his best friend, Uchiha Sasuke. What the hell is this? I can't believe he is still popular in the academy! That bastard…Why does he get all the attention by doing nothing!
Naruto tossed the paper back at the girl scoffing "He's no big deal, I am ten times better than him at anything" Now the rest of the girls seemed to have joined the conversation. "Sasuke-sama is the best. He is so cool and so good looking! Kya!" A few girls giggled shyly. What the…? Not only one but all of them seem to be love-struck for the teme! "You a teacher, cannot compare to him. He is the captain of the Anbu" Oh no, I am not taking this crap! He would teach them one thing or two. "You are talking to the next candidate of hokage here! Remember my name! Naruto Uzumaki!" The girls looked at him with disbelief on her eyes. "No one with that stupid looking face could become hokage. It has to be someone smart, strong and sexy like Sasuke-sama!" Naruto felt the heat in his body raising. Those girls were underestimating him! And they compared him to Sasuke? The only person he perceived as an equal? He marched to the front of the class, turned around and pointed to the staring crowd of girls "I will show you all how wrong you are about Sasuke! I will fight him and mop the floor with him after lunch time at the training ground number 5!"
And just like that he ended up in a mess, but all the girls seemed very excited about the thought of seeing Sasuke fight in front of them, though he will make sure to embarrass the teme. He just had to convince Sasuke to fight him but he wasn't sure how he would manage that.

Sasuke was on his way back from the convenience store, it had been a long week and all the wanted to do right now was to lie down on the bed and take a long nap. He looked for his apartment keys inside his pocket and when he introduced the key inside the keyhole he noticed a paper notice on the door. It read "Unless you're a coward, meet me at 1:00pm at training ground 5". If it weren't because he knew the identity of the author he would've more likely burned the note but only a certain idiot would challenge him like that. That usuratonkachi, what is he up to now?
Several blocks away Sakura rushed to the academy. Maybe leaving Naruto in charge of her class wasn't the best idea. She wanted to ask Shikamaru but he was busy that morning and Naruto seemed the only one free for the whole day so she didn't have any other option but ask him. I hope he didn't do anything stupid. It was close to one now and the classes resumed at 3.00pm. She still had time to eat and get everything ready.
She reached the academy at half past one. She entered into the teacher's room to find out Naruto was gone and no one knew his whereabouts. Thank god I specifically told him to wait in the staff room until I got here! I am so going to beat the carp out of him when I find him! She sat on one of the couches and opened her bento, god she was so hungry! She hadn't realised how concentrated she had been while doing the corpse examination. She picked a good portion of rice with her chopsticks and ravenously ate it. She hoped no one saw her to save her from embarrassment but that was not the case. Two students just got into the staff room and what's more, they were walking towards her. She quickly swallowed the food she was chewing at that moment to ask "Is there anything you want?" The girls had a worried look on their faces. "It is about Uzumaki sensei…"
Meanwhile in training camp number 5 a significant crowd of students was steadily gathering. Apparently the girls spread the word about the fight and everyone decided to join for this epic match. Naruto stood proudly in the middle of the field, arms crossed under his chest, his sage coat fluttering in the wind and his gaze fixed into the distance. And then he appeared in front of him, and the crowd gasped at his sudden apparition.
"Don't think you've won just because you had a flashy entrance" Sasuke smirked back at his friend "So that's what you were planning. I guess it is been a while since we both had a sparring session" Naruto's gaze didn't waver although his body was slightly shaking from excitement. Sasuke was the person he enjoyed the most to spar with. They just worked very well together.
He moved away from his friend and ignoring the loud crowd of shrieking girls he shouted "Pay attention because today, Sasuke-CHAN will be defeated by me, the great Naruto Uzumaki!" The academy students started making noise in anticipation for the battle and Sasuke just gave Naruto a wicked smile. You've asked for it Naruto. You really know how to push my buttons. This is going to be interesting he thought.
Naruto was the one who initiated the fight with a punch aimed at Sasuke's head. The Uchiha easily avoided the attack and used Naruto's momentum to throw him against the ground. He became surprised to see his friend disappearing in a puff of smoke. Usually Naruto presented himself in a challenge but for the first time he had used a kage bunshin. Not too bad, dobe. Sasuke activated his sharingan and he was able to locate Naruto's chakra approaching him.
A rasen shuriken flew out of the woods aiming to the Uchiha. Sasuke though, who had anticipated the attack swiftly jumped and spun in mid-air so that the wind shuriken moved underneath him and crushed into the woods on the other side of the field. The crowd was getting more and more excited watching at the calibre of those two. The cheering got louder was well.
Sasuke looked up towards the sun and squinted his eyes, good concealment, but you can't defeat me with that. As Naruto charged against Sasuke from the sky with his rasengan, Sasuke counter attacked with chidori creating a shock wave that send them both flying in opposite directions. Naruto made the sign to deactivate his kage bunshin and the orange marks on his eyes revealed his sage mode. So he intends to fight me with power and speed, useless. "Mangekyou sharingan" Sasuke's pupils joined together and reshaped into his eternal mangekyou. Then the spectators lost trace of hem. They were so fast it was hard to catch a glimpse of their figures. All one could hear was the clashing of their fists and kunais. For every attack, the other counter attacked. They weren't able to land a hit on the other though to Sasuke's advantage, the second Naruto looked into his eyes it would all be over.
In a moment of hesitation Naruto almost looked into Sasuke's eyes and the Uchiha used the opportunity to land a side kick onto Naruto's chest crashing his friend's body into the ground. Witnessing such display of power left the multitude speechless but soon enough cheers started filling the training camp. Damn Sasuke, he just got lucky. The raven haired noticed the growing surge of chakra and took the prudence to step away from him. You just want to show off now, Naruto. He activated his susano'o as Naruto lunged at him in kyuubi mode. The clash was so violent that part of the vegetation and soil surrounding them went flying into the sky.
Naruto attacked with his fangs and claws while Sasuke shielded himself with susano'os' sword. They both knew this wasn't getting anywhere. Unless they displayed their full power, the match would never reach an end, but that was not a possibility since half of the village would be wiped out. They shared an accomplice look and went back to their normal self. This fight would be decided through taijutsu. "tajuu kage bunshin no jutsu!"
Thousands of Naruto's filled the field and attacked at Sasuke who tirelessly took down one after the other. The real Naruto who watched amongst his other selves felt captivated by Sasuke's fighting style. It looked more like a dance than an attack; he was so graceful, so precise, so perfect. He wasn't the only one who noticed that since Sasuke's fan girls amongst the crowd were drooling while watching him. Focus Naruto, everyone has a weakness. And that was the moment when he came up with the perfect plan.
There were only a few clones left standing and that's when the real Naruto attacked his friend. As Sasuke was about to block the attack Naruto used his oiroke no jutsu to turn into a very hot and naked blondie. Naruto could savour the triumph but then a fist unexpectedly reached his left cheek and all he was able to see was Sasuke's smile.
Not too far away a certain pink haired ninja rushed to the training camp number 5. How could Naruto be so stupid! Getting carried away by the comments of a bunch of kids! She hoped Sasuke hadn't accepted such a stupid challenge but then…they both tend to get into fights quite often and this was a good opportunity to settle things but still, if they unleashed their full power things would start to go down quite quickly. Come on Sakura, you're almost there!
00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
When Sakura reached the training ground she had to cover her mouth with both hands to stop the powerful gasp in her throat. If she wasn't aware of the situation she would've thought she stumbled into the middle of a porn movie cut scene. Sasuke was pinning a blonde naked woman to the ground but what was awkward though, was the position, she had one leg resting on Sasuke's shoulder so the whole scene looked like they were about to have sex.
How did it end up like this? Naruto thought. Oiroke no jutsu never fails! But he didn't hesitate for a fraction of a second he was completely unaffected! Naruto's face was bright red of embarrassment and frustration. The whole situation was just too humiliating. He undid the oiroke to preserve some dignity. He wished the earth could swallow people to stop everyone from looking at him. He looked at Sasuke in the eyes, "Oi teme, you can let me go already".
The Uchiha was too distracted trying to stay clam than to listen. His heart had never beaten so strongly. He feared it would break his rib cage at this rate. The amount of dirty thoughts he had in a split of a second would've probably earned him a world record. For the first time he had the blond right where he wanted him. If he didn't get out of there he would not be able to hold himself and that was not the moment, not the place.
Sasuke released Naruto's wrists and moved away from him. He stumbled a little at the sudden loss of balance; he'd just experienced too many emotions in a short period of time. He didn't even look at the staring crowd he just left. He needed to put order to his feelings.
Naruto was sitting on the grass, not knowing what to do, should he say something? Everyone was speechless, their mouths hanging open. This whole situation wasn't meant to happen, this was so messed up and worst of all, he almost enjoyed those tense moments where Sasuke had him pinned against the ground. He had felt so vulnerable and safe at the same time, his heart throbbing. What where those feelings? Why is it always with that bastard? My heart aches…
Killing instincts were approaching Naruto from behind and as he turned around a powerful hand grabbed him by the collar suffocating the troubled blond. "It-it was an accident Sakura-chan. It wasn't meant to turn out like this…" "Accident my ass! How dare you run away from the academy and –she blushed- and show such things to my students! You have no shame and also, how dare you force Sasuke to end up in that position you pervert!" She had no breath left inside her lungs so she opted for punching the blond as punishment but the other stopped her fist with such force that it hurt Sakura. She looked at him confused "None of us wanted this okay? Can you let me go so I can go home?"
He was serious as hell. He was starting to get a bit of a headache and Sakura's shouting was getting annoying. He didn't mind getting scolded by her because most of the times she was right but this time he felt it wasn't her business to judge his actions. She hadn't been on his place during those tense last seconds. She didn't know how it had felt. Sakura finally let him off.
Naruto apologised once again and left the field. Sakura was worried, Naruto wasn't being himself, that reaction had been weird. He was always sweet and respectful towards Sakura but he had sounded angry and hurt. Probably he had felt humiliated by Sasuke and she had been so tactless. "Sorry Naruto" She would have to apologise later but for now she had a multitude of students to deal with.
000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
The way the wind played with the blond's locks of hair was somehow relaxing to him. Whenever he needed some time alone he would climb to the highest water deposit of the village and stare at the people below. He wouldn't pay much attention to them but it was a way of stopping his mind from thinking. Just like when one is staring at an anthill and suddenly all of your thoughts disappear and a minute later you wish your life could be as simple as that of an ant.
The sun was setting behind the Hogake mountain and the street lights started adding brightness to the village. The cold was numbing but Naruto didn't care. He just wanted to disappear from the face of the world until things got back to normal. He wanted to talk to Sasuke but how? How he could talk to him when his friend's gaze was as confused as his own when he had him pinned to the ground. The funniest thing was that he wasn't even angry. He just felt…frustrated? Regretful that things turned out this way? Sad because he was harsh to Sakura? The one person that told him not to get carried away to begin with?
Naruto leaned back and let out a long sight hoping tomorrow would be a better day.
