Chapter 7- PoPuLaR pEoPlE iN tHe SaNd
{You were the popular one, the popular chick

"Are they here yet?" Lucy asked, crossing her arms over her some-what exposed chest.
"I don't think so; I can't see them." Levy said and looked around the beach, huffing when she didn't see any sign of the God's or Goddess's
"I'm not sure I can do this." Lucy murmured. Her eyebrows began to furrow as she glanced around, eyeing of the staring boys and occasional girls.
Levy sighed and turned to look at her best friend. "Of course you can, you look sexy! Better than half the girls here. Now, put your arms down."
Lucy huffed and put her arms down reluctantly. "So what now?"
Levy shrugged, "Let's just walk around a bit until one of us sees them." She explained and the two began walking, water climbing up their legs and the sand swallowing their feet.
"I wish we had like a float thing or someth- OH MY GOD THEY'RE HERE LEVY!"
Levy jumped and clung to Lucy's arm. "Where!? Where!?" She screeched, her eyes hysterically searching the crowd of people. Lucy's arm flung out and she pointed up in the distance, Levy's eyes following intently. "Oh my God!" She exclaimed once her eyes landed on the group.
"We're not ready for this! Let's get out of here!" Lucy shouted.
"You're right! Why did I ever think this would be a good idea!?" Levy cried out. The blonde and bluenette hurriedly began to speed walk away, their calmness completely gone. "Where do we go!?"
Lucy looked around her frantically. "Uh-Um, the changing rooms!" She spoke and pulled Levy to the small room that stood proudly on the sand. Levy easily made her way in thanks to her small body while Lucy almost slammed into an older woman, who in return gave her a vicious glare. "Sorry." She whispered to the lady, though she had only rolled her eyes and walked away.
"We just have to get changed guys, we won't be long." Lisanna's voice echoed. Levy and Lucy jumped in their spot with horrified looks, another woman giving the two an odd look before walking out with a shake of her head.
"Hide in one of the thingys!" Levy whispered.
"But there's only one left!" Lucy squeaked and then froze when she realized what Levy had in mind. Before she could even blink, the door slammed shut and there was a clank of the lock.
"Sorry!" Levy whispered loudly.
Hearing the chatter of Juvia, Lisanna and Erza as they began to enter the room, Lucy made a small sound of panic and turned to the side, turned on the tap, began to wash her hands, staring intently at the running water as though it held the answers to every question in the world. Hopefully they wouldn't notice.
"Juvia thought it would be more crowded- Oh, Lucy?" Juvia said and Lucy visibly jumped. Well damn it.
The blonde turned to look at the group of teen girls with an awkward smile as she nodded to them in acknowledgment. "H-hi."
"What are you doing here?" Erza asked, raising a finely plucked eyebrow.
Lucy let out a nervous laugh and glanced down at her soaked hands. "Just uh, you know," she laughed again, "washing my hands…"
Looking up, she noticed that their eyes were glued to her chest. Acting on reflex, she folded her arms to cover the amount of cleavage that the bikini showed, but quickly put them back to her sides when she realized that it was only pushing her breasts up and making them look bigger.
"Nice…Bikini," Lisanna mentioned, eyeing Lucy warily.
"Oh, I um just, uh, thanks…" There was an awkward silence. "Well, uh, I'm going to go now…" She turned off the tap and began to walk out.
"Okay, bye Lucy!" Juvia said as Lucy passed them.
"This is taking forever." Gray groaned and Lucy almost tripped over her own two feet when she remembered them, freezing slightly at whether or not to reveal herself.
'I CAN'T DO THIS. NOPE. CAN'T. NO.' She thought to herself repeatedly, though she began walking again.
"Lucy?" Gray said and all heads turned to her. The blonde let out a sound that no one could understand and then speed walked away, never once making eye contact. She walked down the sand for a bit before turning and secretly making her way back up to the dressing rooms. Hopefully, they would be gone.
"Okay, let's go!" Lisanna squealed in a high-pitched voice and Lucy jumped to the side to hide behind one of the walls. Once they were out of sight, she let out a breath of relief and made her way inside.
"…Levy?" She whispered.
"Lucy!?"
"They're gone."
Levy let out a 'phew' and opened the door. "Come on! I have to tell you something!" She said and pulled Lucy out.
Lucy groaned. "I'm doing too much walking today…"
Finding a shaded spot, they placed their towels down on the sand then sat down, Levy more eagerly than Lucy.
"THEY DID IT LUCY! LISANNA AND NATSU DID IT!" Levy abruptly bellowed.
"WHAT!? DID WHAT!? STOP YELLING!"
Levy glanced around the two and when she was sure nobody was listening or watching, she leaned forward and whispered, "Natsu and Lisanna went down with the dirty."
Lucy gasped and her eyes grew wider than she knew was possible. "THEY HAD SEX!? NO WAY!"
"I KNOW RIGHT!"
A woman with her husband gasped and gave the two teens a rotten look. "There are children on this beach! Try to contain your vulgar language!" She sneered then stormed off.
"They had sex!? No way!" Lucy repeated but in a whisper.
"Well, not exactly…"
"What do you mean?"
"Well…" Levy trailed off. "She said they were close to actually doing it, like they were in the moment or something, but I guess something must have happened and...well...you know…His, you know, penis didn't end up-"
"I GET IT! STOP TALKING!"
"WELL YOU ASKED!"
Lucy crossed her arms over her busty chest and grumbled some unknown words. "I cannot believe that he would do that to me! How could he!? I trusted him!"
Levy nervously laugh and scratched the back of her neck. "It's not like you two were actually dating…I mean the only thing he probably knows about you is your name…"
"No! This is unforgivable! I will never forget the sin she has committed!"
"Are you even listening to-"
"I WILL DESTROY THAT BEAUTIFUL BITCH!"
"Okay. You're not."
"LEVY! WHAT DO WE NEED TO DO!?"
Levy screamed as Lucy clutched her shoulders. "What!?"
"To become popular! So I can get Natsu!"
Levy chortled in triumph. "You have finally given yourself over to the dark side. Well done Lucy. But first, let's just admire the God's bodies."
Lucy shrugged and nodded then turned to look at the teen guys with a sigh. "So handsome."
"So hot."
"So sexy."
"So muscly."
"The abs."
"The biceps."
"The V."
"So fucking yummy."
"Okay, that's enough looking, let's go walk past."
Lucy froze. "W-what? We're actually going near them!?"
"Yeah, not to close though, but not too far away. We're just gonna do like a sexy strut, you know, like sway our hips and pucker our lips. Stuff like that." Lucy doubtfully nodded and stood with Levy and the two made their way down the beach, first walking closer to the water, and then walking along the shore.
"We just need something to make them look this way." Levy pondered.
"WAHHHH! MUMMY! THERE'S A MERMAID IN THE WATER!" A crying child bawled as she ran to her mother and father.
Lucy and Levy turned to look at each other and with a shrug, Levy said "That'll work."
"I feel so embarrassed." Lucy admitted, fiddling with the fingers.
"Me too, but they can't know that." Levy whispered. "Now act like we're really happy."
Lisanna huffed. "Why haven't I ever I noticed those two before?" She asked no one in particular.
Juvia shrugged. "Juvia never really noticed them either, now we seem to be seeing them every day."
"Maybe they changed something?" Gray chimed in.
"Who knows.'" Erza said, then exhaled heavily. "Why are we even talking about it?"
"You're right, let's talk about something else." Natsu agreed and slung an arm over Lisanna's slender shoulders. "So what did you have for dinner last night?" He asked and Lisanna rolled her eyes with a giggled.
"You're such an idiot, Natsu."
Natsu laughed and hugged her. "Yeah, but you love me~"
Lucy's eyes burned with fury as she glared daggers at Lisanna, grumbling and hissing out unfamiliar words through clenched teeth.
"Would it help if you through this shell?" Levy offered as she held out a fairly large shell in the palm of her hand. Not speaking, Lucy grabbed the shell and threw it as hard as she could with a scream of frustration, not caring where it landed.
"OH MY GOD LUCY! IT HIT JUVIA!"
Okay, so maybe she cared a little bit…
"OH MY GOD!" Lucy screamed and the two quickly ran away and hid behind a small restroom.
"At…at least it's shaded here…" Levy said with a laugh and tried to contain the speed of her rapidly beating heart.
"JUVIA!" Lisanna screeched in shock. Said girl shouted and clutched her head in pain.
"Are you okay!?" Gray said, his panic for the girl showing easily.
"What was that?" Erza questioned, looking for what had done the damage.
"A shell?" Gajeel wondered with a raised eyebrow as he looked at the offending object.
"When I find the fucking person who threw that-"
"Juvia is fine, Gray." Juvia said with a small smile.
Gray's eyes soften as he gazed at his girlfriend. "If you say so." He sighed and placed a small kiss on her forehead.
"I am going to call it Handtopia." Lucy declared and stuck a twig on the centre of the miniature sand castle she had created on Levy's hand.
"Any feeling I once had in my hand is gone now." Levy said and tried to wriggle her fingers, but the pressure from the sand prevented her from doing so.
"Boo!"
The two girls jumped in fright and clutched each other, sand flying everywhere when Levy yanked her hand out of the sand castle Lucy had spent oh so much time making.
"PLEASE DON'T HURT ME!" Lucy cried and tried to shove Levy closer to the whoever it may be.
"I DIDN'T DO IT!" Levy shouted on habit.
Lucy peered up at the people and gasped. "Gajeel!? Jellal!?" At her words, Levy's eyes shot open.
Gajeel laughed while Jellal smirked.
"What!?" Levy glared. "We didn't do anything this time!" She defended while Lucy's nose twitched slightly to the side.
"Nice try." Gajeel scoffed and pulled Levy up while Jellal returned the same treatment to Lucy.
Levy rolled her eyes. "What? Are you taking us to jail?"
"Something like that."
Levy's words got caught in her throat and she attempted to run away. Keyword attempted. Gajeel quickly got a hold of her and hauled the small girl over his shoulder effortlessly.
Levy sighed and raised her head to look at Lucy, who had a horrified look plastered on her face.
"Don't worry Lucy, everything's fine-" Levy suddenly gasped and attempted to wriggle free. "STOP TOUCHING MY ASS!" Gajeel snickered but made no move to move his hand. "Everything is not fine!" She said, having a change of mind.
…That did not help Lucy's condition.
"We have found the criminals." Gajeel snickered again and placed Levy on the sand while Jellal merely motioned to a spot beside Levy and Lucy quickly obeyed his silent request.
"We didn't do anything!" Levy barked while Lucy stayed silent and studied her hands attentively, refusing to look anywhere else.
"Then tell me, Levy, does this look familiar?" Gajeel mocked and threw the shell that had hit Juvia at Levy, who easily caught it with a cocky smirk.
Lucy froze and her breath caught in her throat for a moment. Levy studied it with an amused expression. "Well we are on a beach, Gajeel. I've seen a lot of shells today."
"Good point." Natsu laughed and then stopped abruptly, "But this particular shell was thrown at Juvia."
"And this involves us why..?"
"Well, basically, did either of you do it?"
"No." Levy answered straightforwardly while Lucy stayed silent with a twitch of her nose. Levy always was the better liar of the two. Then again, she was better at mostly everything.
"What about you, Lucy?" Gray inquired. "You didn't to throw it, did you?"
Lucy's head shot up and she weakly tried to speak, but nothing came out. "I-I, a, uh, um, I just, we, ah." She was able to get out before she looked down at her hands again.
"That doesn't sound very convincing." Gajeel jeered.
"Please," Levy scoffed. "She's like that whenever she's around popular or good looking people."
Lucy looked up with a gasp, her face showing the look of absolute betrayal. She looked like a puppy who's owner just brought home a kitten. The guys either laughed or smirked while Juvia smiled and 'Awe-d'.
"So none of you threw it?" Gray asked once more, eyeing the two girls.
"No," Levy repeated, "why would we- THERE'S SOMETHING IN IT!" She screamed in terror when the animal launched itself at her. Lucy squealed and jumped back, looking at her friend with wide-eyes. She wished she could help someway, but what if it bit her? Finding the courage, she pulled it away from the bluenettes face and threw it into a random direction while Levy lay on the sand, panting and unmoving.
"AHH! MUMMY! THERE'S SOMETHING IN MY HAIR! IT HURTS!"
Lucy gasped and her hand flung to her mouth as she looked away in horror. "I'm a horrible person…" She muttered.
Natsu laughed and held his stomach, "Yeah, you kinda are."
Even if it was playful, it hurt Lucy emotionally.
And even if she had nothing to do with it, Lucy suddenly hated Lisanna even more.
