Chapter 28: Back Home
Nothing much happened once they returned. They did have a press conference right when they got back, which was something she could really do without. She was still on crutches, which meant that people were still carrying her to transport her from place to place. She didn't have a problem about it for the most part, but when you're on your boyfriend's back as journalists waited for you guys to come out of the arrivals' area, it's not exactly the most normal thing to see, especially when the whole of Japan didn't know what the extent relationship they had. Needless to say, it was an embarrassing event in her life. And Tsubasa had the gall to just laugh at it like it wasn't a big deal at all.
Let's see if he could still laugh when he finds out that he won't be getting a chocolates for Valentine's this year.
Just kidding. She wasn't that mean. Come on, we're talking about her boyfriend here. Like she wasn't going to give him any chocolates. Besides, it was their first Valentine's Day together. Of course she'd give him chocolates.
This time, she didn't have to hide how much those chocolates meant.
Anyway, the press conference went great unexpectedly. It was mostly about the how they did in the second round, then what they were going to be doing for prepare for the tournament in the summer. Of course, questions about her injury were also asked, but they weren't harmful. Just the typical when-will-you-be-healed-and-be-able-to-play questions. She should be okay after another week. Some of the journalists looked surprised, and she couldn't exactly blame them. So she explained to them that since the boys took turns carrying her around, she didn't have to walk on her injured foot so it healed faster.
"Plus they said I look pitiful trying to use crutches, which I probably was," she joked, and it was a good thing they all laughed or else it was going to be another embarrassing moment of her life.
But what she was most grateful for was that nobody brought up how close she and Tsubasa were. They decided that they weren't going to announce that they were dating to the public yet since it was just too much of a hassle to deal with. Sure the team knew, and maybe the whole town of Nankatsu as well, but they knew they could trust them to keep their secret. Though, she wished no one would find out until like the end of the Cup. Call her paranoid, but she didn't want people to think that the only reason she got into the team was because she was dating Tsubasa.
So yeah, great press conference. Hopefully, they're going to be always like that.
Moving on…
There wasn't anything going on once they all got home. All of the members of the team didn't need to come back to school until Monday next week. They arrived on a Wednesday so they had at least four days to rest and recuperate from the second round, which was a great idea. If she had to come back to school the very next day, she would have probably protested. She wanted time to relax all that rollercoaster of an event. Granted, she didn't do much because of her injury, but all the whirlwind of emotions she felt during that time was stressful. She didn't think she could have taken more if they added the stress of school to that.
She barely even finished the homework she got before they went to Indonesia. It's a good thing that they had people who knew how to find a derivative of tangent line. If not, she was sure she going to fail Math this year.
Now that she mentioned it, she should really be looking over her notes and homework to prepare for school on Monday but she didn't feel like doing any of that and instead she was curled up on their couch in the living room, watching some random action movie on the TV. She had a thick blanket around her, clutching it tightly to keep her warm. If only winter wasn't so cold, she would have loved it. Did they even have the heat on? It felt like they were in Siberia or something.
"You look ridiculously adorable, you know," she turned towards the stairs to see her boyfriend.
"Glad to be of service," she joked. Tsubasa chuckled at her answer and walked to sit beside her. "You really hate the cold don't you?" He asked as she shared her blanket with him. She immediately snuggled up to him, laying her head on his chest. She could feel his warmth envelope her and she couldn't help but sigh in contentment.
"Not exactly hate," she replied while Tsubasa wrapped an around her waist. "I just really dislike getting cold. It makes me feel drowsy and fat. I like burning energy, and my leg isn't helping matters either."
He chuckled again and kissed her head soflty. "Don't worry, it's going to heal soon. You just have to be patient."
"Why can't it heal sooner? I want to start moving, and I want to get out of the house," she whined.
"Well, you can. I can always bring you to where you want t-"
"Without anyone carrying me preferably," she interrupted, taking her head off his chest and moved to lean against the arm of the couch, laying her legs on his lap. "You guys might have built some muscles while carrying me, I meanwhile gained a few extra pounds. I gained like 12 pounds from not doing any exercise and it's terrible!"
He had an amused smile playing on his lips, but she didn't seem to notice because she was too busy lamenting about her sudden gain weight.
"Oh great, I thought I was just imagining that you were getting heavier," he teased, and she turned to him with an offended look on her.
"I'm kidding," he laughed, pulling her towards him as he fell backwards to set his head on the arm of the couch, making her fall on top of him with a pout of her lips. "I didn't even notice anything. You still look like my Sanae. My gorgeous, amazing, talented, sexy girlfriend." He kissed the tip of her nose lightly, and honestly, how do you expect her to stay angry at him when he says something like this?
She felt he lips curl up in smile and to show how much she appreciated having such a caring and hot boyfriend, she started leaning close to him to give him the best kiss he was going to get.
That is, if her phone didn't ring.
She stopped her advances and heaved an annoyed sigh. Really, of all times, they picked right now to text her? She looked up towards Tsubasa, who also had an annoyed expression on his face. At least they seemed to be on the same wavelength.
She sighed once more and got up to sit on Tsubasa, her legs on either side of him while she grabbed phone from the table.
Why was it always Ayame who interrupts every time they were about to do something?
"Who is it?" Tsubasa asked, sitting up.
"Aya," she answered as she opened the Snapchat* her cousin sent her.
I fucking love Taro's sister. She's a riot. It said while a video played of Misaki-kun and her sister playing Mario Kart for the WiiU. It looked like Misaki-kun was being beaten too.
"Now that mention it, I haven't see her anywhere. I would have thought she would be staying home today," he remarked as he looked all over the room.
She continued watching all the other videos Ayame sent, and couldn't help smiling when she saw how much Misaki-kun was getting frustrated every time. "She's with Misaki-kun visiting his mom," she explained while another video played, and as expected Misaki-kun was trying not to swear while her sister beat her yet again while Ayame's laughter served as background noise. "You gotta see this. Misaki-kun is actually losing his cool."
Tsubasa peered into her phone and laughed out loud once hearing Misaki-kun screaming a loud "FU- DANG IT!" as he hit a banana on the tracks.
"That is freaking hilarious. I'm not gonna let him live this down," he remarked once all the videos ended. "But anyway, why is Ayame-chan with him anyway?"
She shrugged and threw her phone lightly back on the table. "I dunno. Something about Misaki-kun's sister requesting her to come with him. Apparently she went with him the first time Misaki-kun met his mom's new family, and his sister immediately took a liking to him cousin. Now, whenever Misaki-kun visits, his sister always asked for her. She actually wanted Ayame to come on Christmas Eve, but Ayame was in New York celebrating Christmas with her family. So now, Ayame thought it's finally time to meet the girl's request."
"That's surprising," Tsubasa remarked. "If I didn't know any better, your cousin's acting like Taro's girlfriend."
"It also doesn't help that his dad and his mom loves her to pieces," she replied. "I'm pretty sure they're waiting for the day that they start dating."
"You mean everyone?" Tsubasa retorted playfully. "Even Hiro-oji-san likes Taro."
She hummed in agreement, pushing Tsubasa back as she fell on top of him softly. "The only ones who don't know would be Aya's parents and her family on her mom's side, but that's because they're all the way on the other side of the world."
She felt his arms encircle her waist loosely, and she laid her chin on his chest. "It might be hard for Misaki-kun to win them over. Most of them believe that she's going to be with an American if she ever starts dating. Even more when Aya's going to be in Michigan to study college for two years."
"We're talking about Taro here though," Tsubasa said. "He can get everyone to like him. Besides, he's going to France right? And Ayame-chan's planning on studying Fashion in Paris."
"Hmm," she hummed in thought. That was true. They knew that Misaki-kun plans on going to Paris Saint-Germain sometime soon, and Ayame wanted to go that one prestigious fashion school in the French capital. You know, if she remembered correctly, they had plans on being roommates once they move to Paris.
Huh, she felt like she's missing something.
"Are you onto something, Mr. Oozora?" she asked with narrowed eyes. Was he trying to tell him that those two have planned to be more than just being roommates?
He only shrugged and pulled her closer to him. "Who knows? I mean, why would Ayame chose to study in Paris anyway, when New York have as many great fashion schools as Paris does, maybe even more."
Because Aya wanted to get away from her parents, but it wasn't her place to tell that to anyone.
But then again, why couldn't she go to the other schools is America. Ayame did tell her there's other great fashion programs all over her birth country, and that would still be far enough from her parents. And there was London too, and Barcelona, and many more countries that were known for their fashion.
So really, why Paris?
She was interrupted from her thoughts when she felt a light smack on her forehead.
"Ow!" she cried cutely, and promptly glared at her boyfriend with a pout, putting a hand on her forehead. "What was that for?"
"You were thinking too much again," he chuckled, then he cupped her face with his hand, running his thumb on her cheek. "Don't worry too much about them. We're all waiting for the day they end up together, but let them be. They'll find each other. Just like we did."
She couldn't help the smile that formed on her lips.
He was right. It was better to let them be. If they were meant to be, then fate will find a way to bring them together.
Just like them.
She finally met her lips with his, both of them smiling against their locked lips.
End Chapter
AN: tbh, you can just really skip this chapter. i just made it because i wanted to write fluff, that and i like writing about teenagers being teenagers, especially with modern technology. i feel like CT characters would be more relatable if they even showed an ounce of being teens instead of just focusing on soccer too much, like even the people i know who are soccer obsessed can still act like normal teenagers. they gotta be human somehow.
anyway, i dont even have any excuse for this chapter. i promise tho, that when i make the next chapter (whenever that might be) itd be better than this one. this is too boring. i promise really.
*Snapchat- the app where you take a picture and it'll send it to someone for a short amount of time. they have a video feature now too. along with Instagram and Twitter, its pretty popular for teenagers here in America
thats it for now, hope you enjoyed reading and please review. thanks
cya soon
