AN: THE GREY'S FINALE WAS AWESOME. I'm really looking forward to Season 11!

I have no clue when the last time I wrote was. Hope this makes up for it.

Review: Arizona had a gun pointed in her face in her own house and Callie is upset because Arizona went to Seattle without telling her.

Chapter 26

Arizona's POV

My parent's bedroom door flew open and we were met with a shotgun barrel pointed straight to our heads.

"Freeze!" the man in front of us yelled. "Don't you move a muscle." He had a torn plaid shirt around his waist holding together his white tank top and mud-covered blue jeans. On his feet were work boots that have seen their day with holes and sting missing. His face was covered with stubble and dirt with hair tangled from his head to his shoulders.

"Sir, we can explain. I'm Jackson and this is Arizona, this is her house."

He loosened up his stance with the gun. "She lived here?" The gun pointed to me for a second before Jackson slid between it.

"Yes, she used to live here before all of this happened. We really don't want any trouble; we just came by to see her room."

"The guy I found here says this is his house." Finally, the gun fell to his side as he opened the door to my parent's room and pointed to a pile of blankets and man.

"Huh?" Jackson and I slowly walked into the room keeping our eye on the man behind us.

The man came around us and shook the pile of blankets on the bed. A moan escaped as the sheets were pulled back. "Whaaa?" Another moan fell from cracked lips that were surrounded by beard and mustache.

"I found him here." The guy commented.

When the figure finally turned around completely, I almost didn't recognize the man laying before me was coronal Robbins himself. His appearance was awful and I knew he wasn't in good shape at all or it would have been him at the door with a shotgun.

"Da…dad?!" I sat on the bed and tried to help him sit up but it was useless. When I reached to grab his other arm, I noticed there was nothing to grab. Instead, his shoulder was wrapped up with bloody bandages and old shirts, his arm missing from sight. "Dad, what happened to your arm?! Oh my god!"

"He was like that when I found him. He didn't really talk either, just grunted." The creepy man wasn't helping so I decided to ignore his input.

I stared deep into Avery's eyes as tears escaped mine. "Avery…" I whispered.

Jackson stood up and went to the door of the bedroom and leaned out. "Hunt, get up here now!"

I watched as the guys lifted my dad off the bed and carried him down the stairs. My ankle was still sore so I hobbled to keep up. "Dad? Can you hear me? It's Arizona, it's me dad!"

"Arizona, maybe you should step back." Owen continued to drag my father into the living room. Waves of different emotions ran through my body and without noticing, I missed a step causing me to put full weight on my hurt foot. A loud snap sizzled into the air as I tumbled down the last few steps and hit my head on the corner of the fireplace. All was black.

Callie's POV

Monday, December 29th

"I'm sure they're just fine." Meredith reassured me for the billionth time.

"Worst Christmas ever." I stood form the couch and went to make some tea.

In the kitchen, Barbra was making herself a bowl of cereal. "Hey Callie."

"Hey." I mumbled in response as I turned to do my own thing.

"Callie, I know you're upset…can I help with anything?"

"No, I'm fine."

"She did it to protect you."

"I know." I really wasn't interested in conversation at the moment.

"She told me."

I turned around quickly and gave her a questioning glare.

"Arizona told me she was going to Seattle to find her father. She asked that I didn't tell you because you wouldn't have let her go. I just…if I had known how upset it would make you…"

I threw some tea bags and a cup down then walked away. Not only did Arizona go to Seattle without telling me, but she told her mom and ordered her not to say anything. After entering our room, I plopped down into the bed and shoved a pillow to my face as I screamed. I rolled onto my back and looked up to the ceiling. "Why, Arizona? Why?"

*KNOCK KNOCK*

"Yeah?"

The door cracked open and Barbra slipped her head in. "Um…"

I sat up and shook fingers through my messy hair. "Barbra, I'm sorry for storming out, I'm not mad at you…"

"Callie," I finally looked her in the eyes, "they're back."

"What?" I thought I misheard what she was saying.

"They're back from Seattle."

"Is Arizona with them?" I hopped off the bed and began to put my jacket on over my pajamas.

"I don't know, they just said to come to the gate."

"Okay, let's go then!" I began to run passed Mrs. Robbins but stopped. "I'm really sorry. I could never be mad at you for something she did."

"It's okay. I wasn't so honest myself."

"It doesn't matter now." I looked her up and down before embracing her into a hug.

We ran down the hill, through the President's hide-out, and then to the front gate. Fitz, Olivia, the suit guys, and the rest of our group were standing in a circle. Aria was baby-less for once and made her way to me.

"They're back." It was all she could think of. We haven't really talked since Christmas because of the whole Arizona thing. I was upset with myself for letting it get so bad.

I just nodded and moved closer to the gate as we waited for more information.

"They're ten minutes out." One of the black suits said after a few minutes of silence.

"Oh my gosh!" Frustrated, I wrapped my jacket tighter to my body and tucked my hands under my pits. The air was cold enough to see the hot air escape my mouth. Wow, we look like kids waiting to get cake at a birthday party.

As that thought passed in my mind, the gates creaked to signal them being opened. I made sure I was in front of the crowd so I could see them first. It wasn't long before I had to step back to let them in. Owen and Jackson ran in first carrying an older man in a sheet. Behind them was a strange looking man carrying some of their bags.

"Where's Bailey?!" Avery shouted.

Miranda made her way through the crowd before looking at the old man. "I'm here, I'm right here." She quickly began to access the man's injuries. When his face came into view, it was like seeing a ghost.

"Oh my… oh my god, is that…?"

"Yes. We found him at his house."

"Where's…" Before I could finish, Alex and Teddy came through the gate with Arizona in a similar sheet. Jo followed with the rest of their things. "No…she's not…?" Before I could think about her being dead much longer, a blood-curdling cream came from Arizona's mouth. Goosebumps raised over my entire body as more tears fled form my eyes. "Arizona, god….what….Arizona…"

Her voice was low and stuttered from her trying to find air. "Errrr…ahhhh…I…I can't…"

"Shh, don't." I looked back to everyone running around. "What happened?!"

"She broke her ankle." Teddy replied quickly. She laid her next to the older Robbins where Bailey could easily find her place. "Through the skin." Teddy almost whispered, but it didn't get by me.

"Daniel?! Arizona…oh, dear." Barbra began to cry hysterically and I joined her as I sat on my knees next to Arizona's head.

I looked to Bailey. "You have to set this right?"

"Someone….EHHHHH, help." Arizona began roll her body around to ease her pain.

"Yes. Someone go get my bag! " Bailey looked around the surrounding crowd.

"Got it." Kepner raised her hand in the air before running back towards the house."

Bailey moved from Daniel to Arizona. "I think hers is more important, let's focus on her." Owen nodded and left Teddy to treat Daniel. "I think he's just dehydrated. He also might have and infection, I'm not sure."

"Yeah, they didn't have any food left there." Teddy continued to give Daniel water through a hand-made IV.

"Somebody get her some pain meds!" I turned my attention back to my finance. "Arizona, just hold on. Everyone is trying to help you okay?" I let her hand slide into mine and let the joints in my hand pop as Arizona squeezed tight.

I could feel the presence of Fitz standing behind me, so I took a second to move away from Teddy and Miranda who continued to work on Arizona.

"Is there anything I can do Callie?"

"No, I think it's best to let them work on her. They're extremely good at their job."

"Right. Well, let me know if you need anything."

"I will, thanks."

"She's going to need surgery and she has a nasty gash on the back of her head." Altman announced.

"Let's get her to the house then." I mentioned as I picked up their bags.

Fitz reentered the small group. "That's ridiculous; take her into my place. Use whatever you need doctor."

Miranda stood up with the IV and her medical bag. "Let's go."

We travelled toward the house and what was probably a few seconds felt like hours. Everyone and everything was moving by me so slow, I couldn't help but feel somewhat dizzy.

"Callie." I looked behind my shoulder to see Aria with Jo right beside her. "You should get some rest."

"Are you crazy? My finance is in there with half her bone sticking out of her leg. I can NOT rest."

"She's right though, you need a glass of water or something." Jo offered.

A loud voice came from the kitchen. Aria, Jo, and I ran into the room. Owen was standing with sweat and blood covering every inch of his clothes.

"What do you mean 'you don't know'?! She's your daughter, you're supposed to know!"

Everyone almost immediately started to jump at him but let me break it up. Barbra was drowning in her own tears as she backed herself into a chair.

"Hey, hey. What's going on here?"

"She doesn't know what blood type her daughter has!"

I stepped in front of the angry soldier and pressed lightly against his chest to push him back.

"Calm down, Owen."

"I'm sorry…I… I'm sorry." He wiped his brow, sighed, and took a deep breath.

"She's B-positive." Everyone gave me a silent, but soft glare. "We talked about it one time after she was burned from the C-4."

Owen took another breath in before turning back to the tables in the corner of the room with Arizona and her dad. "Okay. Who's B-positive?"

"Daniel is."

We turned to Barbra sitting in the other corner.

"We need someone else. Daniel needs his own blood right now."

"Me." Everyone turned to look at Jackson who stood up from the kitchen counter. "I'm B-positive, I'll give some blood."

Owen nodded. "Thanks Avery."

"It's nothing. I'm sure Robbins would have done the same thing."

People began to flood out of the kitchen as the doctors in our group set up a sterile operating room. We all moved to the next room over, the living area. All the couples were curled up together in the floor or on one of the many couches. Aria went to care for Maria and I was dozing off by myself in the corner of the room, but still trying to remain awake in case they finished with Arizona.

My eyes closed for a second before I felt a light tap on the end of my foot. I jumped and sat up straight. "What's what….I mean…what's going on?"

"Calm down, it's just me." I rubbed my eyes again before staring up at a yawning Jackson Avery.

"Oh, has anything…"

"No." he interrupted. "They're still operating, but I thought you could use a little company." He sat down beside be and wrapped his arm around my shoulder. "Man, it's cold as hell on this floor. Why don't you sleep on a couch?"

"Everyone else is on the couches." I scooted closer to him, because like it or not, his body warmth was much better than mine alone.

"April just went to bed an hour ago. She complained about how the couch hurt her neck. You could totally have that couch if you want it."

"Where are you going to sleep?"

"I don't know; think I'll just sleep here."

"I couldn't let you sleep on the floor after what you did." I turned my attention to the Band-Aid covering the crease in his arm.

"Like I said, she would have done the same for me."

"Probably, you're like her best man-friend."

"Man-friend?" Jackson stared off into the darker parts of the room. "I think she had a crush on me at one point."

"What?" I pulled my face from under the blanket and gave Avery a blank stare.

"Arizona? I think she totally had a crush on me before she realized she was into chicks."

"That's stupid, Avery. Not everyone has a crush on the quarterback of the football team, certainly not the lesbians. What you have is called a 'bro-mance,' those things happen." I pecked his peck with a pointy finger which made him flinch, laugh, and twist his face at the same time.

"Nah, she totally had a crush on me."

"You know how I know you're wrong?"

"How?" He pulled back from our warm cocoon to give me a questioning look.

"She told me who her first crush was."

"Really? Let me guess, it was you?"

"Nope."

"Hmmm." I could see him actually trying to think.

"You know this Avery, but you were so concerned with yourself, you always thought it was you."

"I don't….oh…it's so clear now."

"Yep."

"Well, don't be jealous of Stephanie. It's sad she's gone but I never thought we would last in the long-run. If she were here now…"

"Jackson. Stop. You're embarrassing yourself again." He just looked at me dumbfounded. "Arizona had a crush on Jo."

"OH! That makes more sense. They were always partners during freshmen year…especially in gym class."

"I." I put my hand over his mouth. "I don't want to hear anymore. I know she liked her."

"Ah, don't get jealous Callie."

"I do not get jealous."

"Just think of Arizona watching Jo as she takes laps around the track in those gym shorts and…UMGGFFF." I punched Avery in his chest very firmly. "What was that for?" I just stared at him. "Okay, I'm sorry. Just let me say, the way she used to look at Jo, is ten times more intense when she looks at you. Don't think I haven't caught her staring at your ass a thousand times. Oof!" I slapped him in the chest again and thought about it for second before hitting him a second time.

"Sorry, but you have to stop talking about girls and asses. You need to focus on April now."

"I know. Is this how you felt with Arizona? Like you could spend endless amounts of time with her and never get bored?"

"It's always an adventure with Arizona." Things became silently for a moment as I could tell we both began to think of our significant others. "Thank you."

"For the blood? I told you…"

"No, for this." I motioned my hand between us. "It feels nice to just talk to someone and get my mind off things. It's also nice to remember the times before this, even if it is a freshmen Arizona checking out girls. It helps to remember and to relax."

"It does." A few more minutes passed before Avery hopped up. "Hey, let's get you settled on this couch." He helped me move my things over to the love seat before saying goodnight and going his own way. Jackson seemed to relax me more than I thought because soon I wasn't as worried and I was able to fall into deep sleep.

Tuesday, December 30th

"Callie? Callie, wake up."

I opened my eyes to see a very dirty and very tired Owen Hunt along with Teddy Altman right behind him. It was still dark but I could feel the presence of light rising somewhere. It must have been early in the morning.

"Callie?" Owen said again.

"Yeah? What?" I sat up and rubbed the crust out of my eyes. "Is she…?"

"She's laid up in the kitchen…" I lifted myself off the couch and began to move towards the kitchen when Teddy grabbed my arm and held me back.

"You can't go in there." She said.

"Why…why not?" I was beginning to think something horrible had happened.

"Everything's fine, it's just not the best looking in there at the moment. Why don't you go to bed and you can come see her this afternoon?"

"No. I have to see her now. Where's Barbra at?" I began to look around the room to some who were still sleeping.

"She went back to the house, Callie. She said she would be here first thing this afternoon and we agreed it was a good idea. You should go and be with her, comfort each other in a time where it's needed."

"But…I…just how is she?"

Owen stepped up and put a reassuring hand on my shoulder. "She's a fighter Cal, she is doing pretty good for her condition."

"First thing this afternoon?" I asked.

"First thing." Teddy said. "We'll clean it up so you can come see her."

"I think we'll move them to a couch; it's probably more comfortable." Owen added.

"Her head, it had a gash?" I was so concerned they missed something.

"She might have had a concussion, but we assume she's fine. We won't know everything until she wakes up."

I looked to Teddy, "I'll be here."

I had gone to the house only to find a weeping Barbara sprawled out across the couch. Deep inside I didn't want to comfort her because I needed my own comfort. It must seem very selfish, but we've made it through so much, I just wanted Arizona to be okay.

I began to walk up the stairs quietly when one step creaked, giving away my position to the depressed woman.

"Callie? Is that you dear?"

I sighed inside then turned to face her direction. "Yeah, it's me."

"Do you need anything dear?"

"No, I'm good. Do you need anything?" Again, inside, I was hoping she replied with a 'no.'

"No, you go get some rest. I can wake you when I'm getting ready if you want."

No matter how much I was an ass to her in my mind, she never saw it and never changed her love for me. Maybe it was my disrespect for adults in general, or the fact she knew Arizona was going to Seattle and didn't tell me. Yeah, probably the last one.

"That sounds great. Thank you Barbra."

"It's no problem."

I was going to apologize for my attitude, but I knew she knew I was sorry for my actions towards her so nothing was said.

I curled up in the blankets covering our bed, the bed I hoped Arizona would soon be in. With her ankle, it may be months before she walks up the stairs. As long as I had the chance to hold her soon, I wouldn't mind a few more nights alone in our bed.

Later that day, I was awakened from my sleep by Jo banging on my door.

"Callie! Callieee!"

I finally made it to the door. "What Jo?!"

She seemed out of breath. "Arizona…."

"Is something…?"

"No. No, no, no. She's awake and asking for you."

We jogged down the stairs to an empty living area. "Where's Barbra?"

"She's with Arizona and her dad."

"How's Arizona? Does she seem okay?"

"She's…she's being Arizona."

I gave Jo a confused expression only to be shuffled into the President's hide-out house.

Teddy was standing by the kitchen holding the door open for us. I bolted in and noticed Barbra next to Daniel's head and Arizona on the table behind her. Daniel shuffled his head to glance at me, his arm stub also staring me right in the face.

"There she is," Daniel began, "the woman who's able to put up with that hyperactive bunch over there." He motioned to Arizona who had now tried to sit up but was rejected my Bailey holding her down and telling her to rest.

"It's nice to see you Mr. Robbins." I stopped quickly by his table.

"Yeah, yeah, just go over there and make Arizona shut up. My head already hurts form the lights in here."

"I can dim the lights." Teddy offered.

After the lights were cut off, we were left with the glow of the afternoon sun peeking through the window. I took slow steps to Arizona's bed and without noticing, I was soon face-to-face with her.

"Hey, beautiful." She said.

"Hey. How are…"

"Ah, stop that. So many people have asked me how I'm feeling. I have screws all up inside my leg, I'm in some pain, but I'm talking to you so it's not so bad."

"And you're head?"

"I can't believe I married someone as hot as you."

I guess she was just trying to avoid anything to do with her well-being. "Can't believe you're going to marry right? We still have to make plans. Do you have anything in mind?" I reached over the table and clasped my hand with Arizona's.

"We're already married. I think I would remember our own wedding Callie."

"Arizona we didn't…" I was laughing it off with a goofy grin.

"And our honeymoon to Spain…it was gorgeous." I slowly lifted my face from Arizona to Owen who just stared back. "Hey, Callie… you have these beautiful eyes but I can't see them all the way over there." She pointed a finger from our holding hands to my face. I made sure our eyes met. Arizona always had these mystically blue eyes. Most people would compare them to a sky or an ocean, but me; I saw endless souls when I stared into her eyes. When I imagine a person's soul or well-being, I always imagined this light blue aurora which held deep and mysterious stories. I saw all of that when I stared into Arizona Robbins' eyes.

"Arizona, do you know where you're at?"

"In our kitchen? I knew I shouldn't have taken that trip into the woods, I'm sorry." Her hand reached up to cup my cheek. "And I know I'll be leaving soon to find my dad, but it's something I have to do."

Barbra had now turned around. "Sweetie, you already found your father."

"What?" She asked

"You're father's right over there." I pointed to Daniel on the table who began to look worried himself but waved.

"I'm right here Arizona." He said.

"Dad?! When did you get here?"

"I've been here."

"No, no." She began to look frustrated.

We were momentarily interrupted by Avery as he walked in. "Hey, here's the towels you guys wanted."

"Alex, you bastard. Why didn't you come to our wedding?!" Arizona shouted.

Avery just backed up a little and gave me a questioning look. I shrugged. "Arizona, baby, that's Jackson."

She began to look even more frustrated. It was like she knew the answer, but continued to reply quickly without thinking. "That's Avery." I decided to do one more test before I slapped Owen across the face out of pure frustration and anger. "Arizona?" She nodded for me to continue. "What's Jackson's last name?"

"Karev. Calliope, I just...it's Karev right?" She began to seriously think about her answer only to fuzz out into a trance, staring out into the space and the air behind me.

I stepped aside from Arizona's table and stepped up to Owen, toe-to-toe with a firm finger in his face. "You better figure out what's wrong. NOW."

Since I have trouble finding time to write, I'm only doing one more chapter plus two into the future. Tell me what you thought or think or….ya know. Thanks for keeping up with this long journey of a story. I'm really sad it has to come to an end soon.
