A/N: Past-Xephmadia. Xephos, painfully, remembers how the past was. (Inspiration song = 'Moment', from The Heirs OST, sung by 2AM's Changmin)

"I never knew...how much I loved you...until you left."

Xephos sat idly at his desk, one leg crossed over the other. Honeydew's words passed by him without registering in his mind. His gaze was blank, staring at nothing. Well, it would seem that to others. Where he was looking stood the most beautiful girl he had ever met, looking exactly the same as when they first met. Xephos had stood from his desk the moment she entered the room, captivated. They were both shy, laughing a lot when neither had anything to say. They clicked immediately. Their hands slipped comfortably into each other's as they walked. He could still remember her eyes, her hair, her lips, the beautiful smile she wore. Blinking once brought him back to reality, where he realised Honeydew had gone. He groaned, resting his head heavily on the desk.

"Why can't I go back to that time?" He whispered, hands clenching into fists around the cloth he lay on. "I would have done everything better..." Xephos could barely get the words out, shutting his eyes tight to try and keep the tears in. "You told me to move on...but how can I?" He asked as if she stood there. "You are all I have ever loved..." He slowly brought himself up, wiping his eyes futilely; it didn't keep the tears away. They created wet streaks down his cheeks. Xephos was too tired to care anymore.

Every moment was special with her, Xephos realised. He had never felt like that with her, occasionally arguing like all couples do. He wished he could have cherished those memories more, to make them more memorable. Not so they were just 'dates' or 'spending time together'. Precious moments that told their love for each other; that is what they should have been. He slowly stood, his body feeling heavily with sadness and guilt. Every step felt like a thousand, stepping out of his office. He could imagine her meeting him there, like she would after he finished for the day. They would hug so simply, but now Xephos wished for her touch. He reached out pointlessly, as if he would be able to feel her. He let his hand drop to his side, eyes shifting to the ground. Such small acts. Why didn't he realise what they meant before? Xephos painfully took himself outside, his heart aching every time he 'saw' her. The wind was gentle, just like the first day they met. It brushed against his skin gently, like how her soft skin did.

She took his cheek gently in her hand, bringing his head down to her level. "Is this love at first sight?" She asked quietly. Xephos' eyes lit up, his hand moving around her. He nodded, his smile small but sincere.

"I think so." He replied as their lips met. The two kissed like they were meant for each other, each moment full of passion and love. They didn't pull away for a long time, and even then that was reluctant.

Xephos shook his head, tears splashing on the ground beneath him. He couldn't take it anymore, his legs becoming weak under him. He crumbled at the door, clinging helplessly onto the doorframe. Xephos let his emotions out, shouting as he cried. He rested his head against the door, eyes staring absently at the ground. He was sure his eyes were red and puffy by now, after seemingly endless rubbing to dispel the tears.

"Why...why can't I go back?" Xephos voice was weak, being taken away by the wind. He grasped his shirt, around where his heart was. "It hurts so much...I don't want this pain anymore. Please...please give me another chance. I'll do anything. I'll make sure to protect you. I'll love you more than I did before..." He bit his lip hard, splitting the skin.

"Are you ok?" She wiped his skin where he had been cut. "You should be more careful." Xephos just laughed, knowing he had always been a bit clumsy. "Jeez, what will I do with you?" She smiled sweetly, kissing the cut. "There. It'll heal even faster now with love."

Xephos let his body collapse so he was now lying in front of the door. He stared at the sky, watching the clouds. "Everything..." He closed his eyes. "Everything is a memory. The time we watched the clouds together. The time you helped me when I hurt myself. The windy days. Why can I have them just one more time...?"

"Xephos." The voice was quiet. Xephos assumed it was his head talking, curling up tighter.

"I wish she would come back. I wish we could be together."

"Xephos."

"Those days were the best of my life. I can't forget them, not ever." A tear trickled down his cheek. "I never knew...how much I love you...until you left."

"Xephos."

"Huh...?" The male blinked. It was too insistent to be his head. Slowly he sat up, seeing a figure standing ahead. He lifted his hand to block out the light, gasping quietly. He was sure this wasn't a dream. It couldn't be. Especially not when the baby cried.

"I've come back. Let's start again as a family."

A/N: Happy ending. Woo! This came to me at around 12 am (midnight), especially from listening to the song (so happy and sad at the same time). I wrote one line, slept, then wrote the rest this morning (I've been up around an hour or so). Yeah... xD This is the power of NOT having writer's block, even if it's only a little.

Anyways, feel free to suggest pairings, as always. Who knows when I'll get to them, but oh well xD
