A/N: A Ridgephos oneshot (finally), which people have been requesting :D The two otherworldly beings talk about home.
Xephos sat casually with one leg outstretched under the shimmering midnight sky. His eyes provided some gentle light, but he had a torch to hand just in case he needed it. He often reminisced about his home under the stars at night; that's when he would most likely be able to see it, after all. When thinking about both his old and new homes, he realised that they were both similar. They also had his friends, which was more important than where he was.
"Can you see it tonight?" The spaceman flinched, not hearing the demi-god's arrival. Ridge smiled, hovering just slightly off the ground beside Xephos. "Do you miss it often?" He took a seat beside him, his eyes drifting towards the stars. Xephos followed his gaze, a slightly sad smile on his lips.
"I do miss it. Often...when I'm not with anyone." He replied. "When I'm alone and my mind isn't busy. I think about home then." He closed his eyes for a few moments, fuzzy pictures of his home flashing in his mind. It had been so long he had trouble remembering things clearly. The memories brought a question to his mind, and Xephos opened his eyes to look at his partner. "You've never told me about where you came from." He pointed out. Ridge shrugged, lying down beside Xephos.
"You never asked." The spaceman was sure he did, but there was no point disputing the point with the demi-god. "Anyway, what do you want to know? There's not much to tell."
"Where is your home?" Xephos asked curiously, settling down beside Ridge. The demi-god thought for a few moments, a smile forming on his lips. He leaned close, right next to Xephos' ear.
"...In your heart." He whispered. Xephos chuckled, taking Ridge's hand and placing it over his heart.
"In my heart?" He repeated. "Here?" Ridge ran his hand through Xephos' raven hair, ruffling it gently.
"And in your mind, obviously. You think about me all the time, right?" He winked, earning a playful nudge from his lover. "But, really..." Ridge rolled onto his back, pulling Xephos so he was sitting on him. "There's no other place I need. I just want to be with you, Xephos. There wasn't anything for me at my home." He took Xephos' hand and placed it on his own cheek. "You're my home, my world, my everything." The two moved closer, their faces mere inches away from each other. "Do I mean that to you?"
"Of course you do." Xephos nodded slightly, making sure he didn't head butt Ridge. Instead the demi-god cupped the spaceman's cheek, bringing their lips so they brushed gently. Xephos blinked, a little flustered. Even though they had kissed before, it still felt a little foreign to him. The way their lips felt together...it wasn't the same as others. Something about the demi-god's felt...unique. Whenever they touched, it was like sparks were set off. He had never felt this with anyone else, Minecraftian or not. He'd been out with a girl on his own planet, and he felt nothing compared to this. Even Lomadia couldn't compare; it was the first time he had truly felt in love when he was with her.
"Why don't we choose one?" Ridge's voice brought Xephos back to the moment. He wasn't entirely sure what he was on about, so he followed his gaze to look up at the stars. "Why don't we choose one and go there?" He asked with more detail, glancing at the spaceman. "Just us two. Our homes are with each other, so if we go somewhere else, we won't feel homesick if we go together." Xephos rolled off of Ridge, letting out a silent sigh.
"...Why do we have to leave?" He asked. "I always have to leave places...why, for once, can't I just stay?" He looked at Ridge. "Do you hate this place that much?" Ridge didn't reply for a few moments, letting a smile form on his lips.
"No. But I love you that much." He lay so they were facing each other, their foreheads pressed gently together. "I thought that you would prefer a new life, a new start, that's why I suggested it. It's because of how much I love you, Xephos." He whispered. "Nothing can change that. So, if you want to stay here, we'll stay." The demi-god's hand gently ran through the spaceman's raven-black hair. "Is that what you want?" He asked. Xephos nodded a little, his body moving to curl up with Ridge. He snuggled close, his head resting against Ridge's chest like a small child. Ridge smiled, gently laying his arm across Xephos. He pressed him closer to his chest with his arm securely around his back. "I'll never leave you, Xephos. No matter what. If you want to leave, we can leave. If you want to stay, we'll stay. I love you so it doesn't matter to me."
"I'm glad...I fell in love with you...Ridge. When I'm with you...I don't think about home. New or old." His voice came out as a mumbled slur, being overpowered by his exhaustion. "Thank you...for loving me."
"Of course, Xeph. I will always love you."
