Why did the world hate them? Why did they have to take her? Why? He'd tried to help them; she'd tried to help them – they'd given everything for them. And afterwards, after everything good he and his sister and their friends had done for them, they had only talked about it, some of them, as if they were trying to help "those poor, miserable creatures," but they lied.
