It had been about twenty minutes since Steve had defeated Karen in their Pokémon battle and whilst Christie was waiting for him to grab a doctor to look at his ankle Steve was waiting for Litleo, Skarmory and Delphox to be given the all clear by Nurse Joy, he had already told the trainers in town, that he could find anyway, that the Pokémon thief was now in his party and whilst most of them where mad that they didn't get a chance to capture the Skarmory themselves the others were thankful to Steve for taking the initiative.
"Can't believe how one Skarmory managed to cause that much damage." Steve thought as he leaned back in his seat at the Pokémon Center, because of how tired he was and the battle with Karen taking up most of the morning he hadn't had much time to reflect on what he had learned. "From what I've heard the thefts have stopped since I caught the Skarmory and I know that Skarmory are fast Pokémon but managing to cover the area to the north of Pewter City and Viridian Forest?" Steve thought as he crossed his arms thoughtfully. "Maybe the Viridian Forest attacks were the work of a second Skarmory? But if that's the case what happened to it?"
"Here you go Zach, your Pokémon are fully healed." Steve overheard Nurse Joy addressing a male trainer and he looked up, he was a bit older than anyone in the gang and had short blonde hair and blue eyes, he seemed to be wearing a doctor's coat over his regular outfit, jeans and a t-shirt, and seemed well mannered.
"Thank you Nurse Joy." Zach responded before taking his Pokeballs, turning around and going to leave the Pokémon center.
"So, do you where that get-up just for show?" Steve asked and Zach stopped in his tracks.
"Excuse me?" Zach asked as he turned to Steve.
"I'm asking if you're wearing that doctor's coat because you like the look or are you an actual doctor?" Steve elaborated and Zach chuckled.
"Yes and no, I am a medical student who also happens to be a Pokémon trainer." Zach responded before grinning sheepishly. "And I guess you could say that I like the look as well." Zach added and Steve grinned a bit.
"Then it's a good thing we bumped into each other." Steve responded as he stood up. "I have a female friend, really hot but that's beside the point….."
"If you're having intimacy problems there are pills for that, otherwise I don't want to know." Zach interrupted him and Steve face-faulted.
"That's not what I was going to say." Steve said through gritted teeth as he got up. "Basically she sprained her ankle after my last Pokémon battle left a few holes at our campsite and she fell in one of them."
"And you didn't think to buy any medical supplies?" Zach asked and Steve nodded.
"I spent most of my prize money from the gym battle on the set-up for catching the Pokémon thief." Steve admitted and Zach nodded. "And despite the fact that I won my last battle I didn't get any prize money, probably because my opponent happened to be my ex-girlfriend."
"Been there, done that." Zach responded with a wince at the last part. "Okay, I'll help her out, where's your campsite?"
"It's on a hilltop just to the north of Pewter City." Steve responded and Zach nodded.
"I believe I know the place you're talking about, is it by the large lake?" Zach asked and Steve nodded. "I don't think I caught your name come to think of it."
"Steve Bishop, I'm originally from Kalos and I'm here to compete in the Kanto region." Steve introduced himself as he held out his hand for a handshake which Zach accepted.
"Zachery Michaels, just call me Zach, I'm originally from the Hoenn Region." Zach said as they let go. "I'm guessing your waiting on your Pokémon?"
"Three of them, two thirds of my team got knocked out in the battle and my last Pokémon had a tough fight against my opponent's Crobat." Steve explained with a frown. "She'll be fine if we wait a couple of more minutes, right?"
"Depends on how bad the sprain is but I don't think your Pokémon will take that long to heal up anyway." Zach answered after thinking for a minute. "You were already here when I arrived and that was ten minutes ago by my clock."
"Steve, your Pokémon are healed and ready to go." Nurse Joy's voice rang out and Steve nodded before taking his three Pokeballs and attaching them to his belt.
"Okay, when I return to the camp I'm suggesting that we pack up and move on, I'm starting to get sick of the Pewter City Pokémon center." Steve thought as he and Zach left the Pokémon center. "Follow me I'll take you to the camp." Steve told Zach who nodded before following him.
*meanwhile*
"Ugh, where is he?!" Christie moaned as she continued to keep her sprained ankle up with the help of Eevee and the others were preparing breakfast, the holes left by Steve's Litleo had been filled in by now but her ankle was still hurting. "I hate being forced to sit still for any amount of time! The boredom's killing me!"
"Christie, please stop moaning, it's giving us a headache." Dalton responded as he pinched the bridge of his nose in annoyance and Christie rolled her eyes as Ann nodded in agreement. "I've sprained my ankle before and not being able to do much sucks, I know, but at least try to think of something else."
"Oh don't worry about me! By the time he gets here I'll probably be asleep!" Christie retorted and the others said nothing in response, she leaned back a bit as her Eevee yawned. "How are you holding up Eevee?" Christie asked and the Pokémon gave her what looked like a reassuring look. "I guess you're stronger than you look."
"Yes, I know I am but thanks for the complement." Steve's voice rang out and Christie glanced over her shoulder seeing Steve at the top of the hill with Zach trailing behind and her expression quickly turned into an annoyed frown. "Sorry for the wait, Nurse Joy took longer than I thought she would." Steve explained and Christie shook her head in response.
"At least tell me that you found someone who can have a look at my ankle and access the damage?" Christie asked and at that moment Zach stepped up. "I wasn't aware that doctors made campsite calls."
"Medical student and I happened to be in the area." Zach corrected her as he approached her. "Christie is it? My name is Zachery Michaels and like I said I'm a medical student who happens to be a trainer."
"Err, yeah, that's my name." Christie responded as Zach carefully lifted her injured ankle off of her Eevee who moved out of the way.
"And for once I will get to play doctor with a beautiful woman!" Zach added before blushing. "Not in the sexual context either, that is unless you'd like to see my bedside manner in a more intimate setting." Zach added with a wink.
"Is he hitting on me whilst he's treating me?" Christie thought as Zach examined her ankle. "Look Zach, how about less flirting and more treating my ankle!"
"Right, right, sorry, I tend to get that way around beautiful women." Zach apologized as he reached into his pocket. "So, is Steve your boyfriend?"
"No, he's my traveling companion." Christie responded as Steve sighed in response. "As much as he wants to be my boyfriend that is but at the moment I'm single." Christie added not noticing a sly grin on Zach's face.
"It's hard to believe that someone with your looks is single." Zach commented as he got a roll of bandages out and Steve frowned.
"Okay, this guy's flirting is starting to get on my nerves! Maybe we should've gone to the Pewter City Hospital instead." Steve thought as he folded his arms.
"I've had a few boyfriends but none of them really stuck for various reasons." Christie responded as he started wrapping up her injured ankle.
"And I suppose you've had sex with them, correct?" Zach asked and Christie raised an eyebrow at the question. "I'm just asking!"
"If I end up in another battle for sexual favors his dicks ending up at the bottom of the lake!" Christie thought with a frown. "Err, yeah, obviously, managed to avoid getting pregnant though so that's a plus." Christie added as Zach nodded.
"And have you had sex recently?" Zach asked and Steve had heard enough.
"Hold the fuck on, what the hell do these questions have to do with a sprained ankle?!" Steve demanded and Zach sweat-dropped. "Are you even a real medical student or is this an elaborate ploy to get laid?"
"Please, my questions might be…..suspect…..but I am a certified medical student." Zach responded before digging into his other pocket and producing a card. "See for yourself." Zach added before handing him the card.
"Zachery Michaels, Medical Student at Mossdeep City University….." Steve trailed off as he read the card. "It says here you graduated two years ago."
"Yes, I did." Zach nodded in response not really paying attention to the ankle he was wrapping up. "But I wanted to pursue my dream of being a Pokémon master before I took the job as a nurse, I'm not saying that it was an easy choice to make but, well, here I am and I'm ready and able to apply what I've learned when a trainer needs medical attention."
"And I bet you get giggly inside when it's a young, smoking hot female trainer like Christie!" Steve responded and Zach shook his head.
"That is a perk yes but if it was, say him….." Zach trailed off as he pointed to Dalton.
"Dalton." Dalton responded and Zach nodded.
"Thank you, if it was Dalton that sprained his ankle I would help him all the same, the same goes for the young girl over there!" Dalton added and Steve frowned.
"That's my sister Ann." Steve responded and Zach winced. "So would you flirt with them and ask about their sex lives?" Steve asked and Zach sweat-dropped.
"Oh heavens no, I respect gay people and their life-style choice but I am straight and I would never go after someone as young as Ann." Zach responded and Steve sighed in relief. "Female and eighteen or over, that's my rule when it comes to dating!"
"Sorry to interrupt…." Christie trailed off and the boys turned to her. "But last I checked I sprained my ankle, not my entire foot!" Christie added and Zach's eyes widened when he saw that he had used up all his bandages on Christie's injured foot.
"Great! I just brought this roll as well." Zach sighed in response as he started unwrapping the bandages from around her foot. "Still, why don't you answer my question, just to try to make things friendly again?"
"Err, sure I guess." Christie responded as she scratched the back of her head. "Not recently no, I almost had sex with Steve down by the lake last night but those two interrupted us just as it was getting good." Christie responded as she pointed to Dalton and Ann and Zach grinned.
"I would've liked to see that." Zach responded before his eyes widened. "I mean I would've liked to see your reaction to being interrupted….."
"It's too late Casanova!" Steve responded as he opened up two Pokeballs and Litleo and Delphox emerged from them. "See these guys? They are going to keep you in line for the rest of your treatment of Christie, if you even flirt with her ONCE they'll roast your ass!"
"Okay, okay, let's not get too hasty here." Zach said before grabbing two of his own Pokémon. "I think it's only fair that I protect myself with my own Pokémon, Ninetails, Sylveon, I chose you!" Zach sent out the two Pokémon and they emerged side by side with each other.
"Okay but no more than two Pokémon, got it?" Steve insisted and Zach nodded as Christie pointed her Pokedex at the two Pokémon starting with Ninetails.
"Ninetails, the Fox Pokémon and the evolved form of Vulpix, It has nine long tails and fur that gleams gold. It is said to live for 1,000 years." The Pokedex's entry read out and as soon as it finished Christie turned it to Sylveon.
"Sylveon, the Intertwining Pokémon and one of the evolved forms of Eevee, It wraps its ribbonlike feelers around the arm of its beloved Trainer and walks with him or her." Sylveon's Pokedex entry read out and Christie pocketed her Pokedex.
"Those two, well, their pre-evolved forms to be specific, where two of the first Pokémon I caught on my journey, they are both very powerful and should be more than a match for your Pokémon Steve." Zach added as he started reapplying the bandages.
"As much as I hate to admit it, it looks like he's raised them well." Steve admitted mentally before turning to Zach. "So if they were two of your first Pokémon you caught, which starter did you go with?"
"I'll show you after I'm done." Zach responded with a nod. "Okay, here's the good news, your ankle doesn't look that swollen so after a couple of days you should be able to walk without a limp, I'll likely be in the area so feel free to contact me to get it removed…..the bandage that is." Zach added and Christie nodded. "Now was that so hard Steve?"
"I'm not going to answer that since you'll likely turn it into a sexual innuendo!" Steve responded and Zach sweat-dropped, it was then that Steve spotted something that made him laugh. "Christie, I think Eevee has a crush!"
"Huh?" Christie asked before looking up and seeing Eevee approaching Zach's Sylveon with a bunch of roses in his mouth and hearts in his eyes. "Good grief, he's almost as shameless as you two!"
"Gee, thanks." Steve commented dryly. "That Sylveon is female I take it?"
"Yes, she is, though I did want an Umbreon originally but she's served me very well since she evolved." Zach responded with a shrug as Sylveon looked at Eevee curiously. "Since you're from the region where the type originates from, I suppose you know that Sylveon is a Fairy Type?"
"Yeah, I know." Steve nodded in response as Zach got up. "So, do you have any tips for Christie?"
"Yes, next time you two have sex at least go into one of your tents." Zach responded and two teens face-faulted.
"I think he meant anything to do with my ankle!" Christie responded as she got up and Zach nodded.
"Oh right, though my first piece of advice is equally as helpful." Zach responded as Steve got up to his feet. "Try to take breaks whenever you can and avoid putting pressure on the ankle is it safe to assume that none of you owns a car?"
"Yeah, it is." Steve admitted with a frown. "And that means that it'll be even harder for her to get around."
"Please, when I broke my leg it didn't take me long to adapt to walking in ways to avoid putting pressure on it." Christie responded as she gingerly got up to her feet. "A sprained ankle's nothing compared to that!"
"You broke your leg on the journey as well? I've heard of bad luck but that's ridiculous." Zach responded and Christie shook her head.
"I broke it in a bike accident when I was younger and that put an end to my potential career as a soccer player." Christie clarified and Zach nodded. "Though to be fair in the past few days of my journey I've got attacked by a swarm of Beedrill, fallen into a lake, nearly stole one of the Pewter City Gym Leader's Pokémon by accident, got accused of stealing a Houndour from some asshole who couldn't take no for an answer who's Houndour defected to my team and almost had my Pokémon stolen from me by Team Rocket."
"You went through all that within your rookie week as a trainer?" Zach asked with a curious look and Christie nodded. "All though, you left out your interrupted make-out session with him." Zach pointed out and Steve growled.
"Mention that again and your ass will start flaming….." Steve trailed off as he realized what he had just said. "And by that I mean my Pokémon will unleash their Flamethrowers on your ass."
"Steve, Litleo doesn't know Flamethrower." Ann reminded him with a whisper and Steve shook his head.
"Zach doesn't need to know that." Steve responded with a whisper as Zach gulped nervously.
"Must you really spoil my fun?" Zach asked and Steve glared at him. "Honestly, why do you travel with him?"
"Remember that Beedrill attack I mentioned? He saved me from it!" Christie responded and Steve nodded in approval. "I don't even want to think about what could've happened if he hadn't been told about the Beedrill attacks by Ann and be there to save me so I guess you could say that I owe him my life."
"And I'm assuming that your interrupted make-out session would've been thanks for that?" Zach asked and Steve's eyes narrowed.
"Watch it buddy." Steve warned him and Zach sweat-dropped.
"No and even if it was I would've been giving him my thanks a couple of days late." Christie responded with an annoyed frown. "Now are you done or do you have any other lame, cheesy pick-up lines to throw at me?"
"Yes, I'm done." Zach responded as he stood up. "I'm on my way to Terracotta Town and I suggest that you do the same, if nothing else it'll allow Christie some time to give her ankle a rest."
"We were heading there anyway." Steve responded before noticing that Zach was giving the lake near their campsite a worried look. "Is there something wrong with the lake?"
"Let me put it this way, if it's the lake I think it is then Christie's bad luck must be contagious and has spread to the other members of your group." Zach responded with a frown. "Long story short, there have been reports of a hostile Gyarados living in that lake."
"And you didn't think to bring this up earlier because….." Steve trailed off as he and the other gave him an annoyed look.
"I wasn't even sure if it was the right lake, there are a few lakes between Pewter and Cerulean City and there are a few large enough for a Gyarados to make its home including that one." Zach explained with a frown. "That and I spent most of the afternoon treating this lovely young lady here so I didn't even get a good look at the lake."
"Yeah, and that was mostly because you were getting a good look at my breasts!" Christie responded and Zach sweat-dropped. "Don't try to deny it! I knew what you were up to, when you weren't using my injured ankle as an excuse to chat me up you were using it as an excuse to stare at my tits!"
"Putting that aside that also raises another problem." Steve commented with a frown. "Me and Christie almost had sex near that lake, what if the Gyarados heard Christie having an orgasm and decided to attack?"
"I am so fucking glad that my mom isn't around to hear this conversation!" Christie muttered under her breath as Zach cleared his throat.
"Well, I heard that fear of being attacked by a Pokémon is an excellent aphrodisiac!" Zach responded and Steve and Christie stared at him as if he had suddenly grown an Eevee's head, even his two Pokémon where giving him odd looks. "Don't ask who I heard it from."
"Honestly I'm still trying to comprehend the facts that not only was the sentence said to me but it was meant to comfort me!" Christie responded as a large sweat-drop rolled down her head. "And for the record, it did nothing to comfort me and I'm in no hurry to test that theory out!"
"Normally I wouldn't say no to an excuse to give sex with Christie another go but I have to agree with her." Steve nodded in agreement but whilst they were talking the water in the lake became disturbed as something started rising out of it, something that the Pokémon quickly noticed and tried to alert their trainers to. "Besides, I think we'd better get going, something's spooked the Pokémon and I'm getting sick of going to the Pewter City Pokémon Center."
"Good, the nearest town is Terracotta Town and there should be a place where you can pick up some crutches for Christie there." Zach responded and the others nodded.
"That was the plan." Steve responded before he noticed the disturbance in the water. "Is it just me or is there something rising out of the water?"
"Steve, I don't think it's just you." Christie responded as her eyes widened and a massive head emerged from it, seconds later a massive and angry Gyarados emerged from the lake. "Err, Steve, you might want to turn around." Christie said as she and the others started panicking.
"Why?" Steve asked before the Gyarados's roar cut him off and he span around. "Dalton, we need Pikachu and pronto!" Steve added as Christie got her Pokedex out.
"Gyarados, the Atrocious Pokémon and the evolved form of Magikarp, in ancient literature, there is a record of a Gyarados that razed a village when violence flared. " The Pokedex's entry read out and Christie looked back and forth between her Magikarp's Pokeball and the Gyarados for several seconds as it hit her.
"Magikarp evolves into THAT?!" Christie yelled out as her jaw dropped.
"Christie if it's any consolation Steve had the same reaction when he found that out for himself." Ann reassured her as Dalton activated Pikachu's Pokeball.
"I thought we agreed to never talk about that again!" Steve protested and the two girls rolled their eyes in response.
"Don't worry guys, I've got it! Pikachu, go!" Dalton called out as he threw the Pokeball and his Pikachu emerged from it ready for battle…until he saw the Gyarados, panicked and leapt to the nearest safe place he saw, unfortunately for Christie that safe place was her breasts.
"I THOUGHT YOU GOT OVER ME WHEN YOU SAW KAREN'S TITS FOR THE FIRST TIME!?" Christie yelled at the electric type Pokémon once her surprise wore off.
"I guess it's up to me then, Sylveon, your up!" Zach called out to the Pokémon, who nodded before stepping up to her master's side, once he called back Ninetails Zach turned to the massive Pokémon.
"How did a Pokémon that big fit into that lake?" Dalton wondered out loud as Christie tried to, in vain, remove Pikachu from her breasts.
"Dalton, I'm waiting for you to call back your Pikachu before I throw it at that Gyarados!" Christie yelled out and Dalton laughed nervously before calling back Pikachu.
"Let me worry about that! Sylveon, use Shadow Ball!" Zach commanded and the Fairy Type Pokémon's eyes glowed for a few seconds before firing off the Shadow Ball, the Gyarados let out a roar before unleashing a Hyper Beam at Sylveon. "Sylveon, dodge it!" Zach commanded as the attack hit Gyarados sending it reeling but it was able to recover quickly enough to fire off the Hyper Beam at Sylveon, the Sylveon leapt into the air just in time, as did the others once they realized that the Hyper Beam was now heading their way.
"Err, Zach, could you possibly, oh, I don't know, MOVE THE FUCKING POKÉMON BATTLE SO THAT WE WON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT GETTING HIT BY THAT THING'S ATTACKS?!" Christie yelled out and Zach sweat-dropped before nodding to Sylveon who started running around the lake, fortunately the tactic worked as the Gyarados started following the much smaller Pokémon until Sylveon stopped at the far side of the lake.
"You'll have to excuse me I won't be able to see what my Pokémon is doing from over here." Zach realized with a sweat-drop before running to the other side managing to avoid Gyarados's attention in the process. "Now Sylveon, use Dazzling Gleam and finish it off with Draining Kiss!" Zach commanded and the Sylveon's eyes glowed a brilliant white light before a blight flash hit the Gyarados stunning it and blinding it temporarily, the Sylveon then ran up the massive Pokémon's body before kissing it on the cheek causing the Gyarados to roar in pain before fainting at Zach's feet, Sylveon leapt off the Gyrados's body and joined her trainer on the lake. "Good work Sylveon now Pokeball go!" Zach called out as he tossed the ball at the Pokémon, it was swiftly captured.
"Defeating that thing in three hits, that's pretty impressive." Steve admitted as he and the others caught up to him. "You've obviously brought that Sylveon up well."
"Well yes, she is my best Pokémon." Zach responded before turning to Christie with a grin. "And since your Eevee seems to have a crush on Sylveon maybe we can hook up, after all Sylveon is a Pokémon that evolves because of love!"
"First of all, you're asking me out after spending twenty minutes staring at my tits?" Christie asked with a big frown on her face. "Second, that is the cheesiest pick-up line I've ever heard and I'm from a town where half the male teen population are perverts!"
"The sad thing is he wasn't kidding about his Sylveon." Steve chimed in and Christie stared at him like he had just said that he was an evolved form of Eevee himself. "It's a bit complicated but if you develop a special bond with your Eevee it will evolve into Sylveon regardless of what time it is."
"That special bond doesn't involve bestiality right?" Christie asked causing the others, including Zach's Sylveon, to face-fault.
"Thankfully it doesn't." Zach responded as he got up. "But how about this then, the next time we meet Christie we'll have a Pokémon battle."
"You know what? It's a date!" Christie responded with a grin….which quickly disappeared when she realized what she had just said. "And by that I mean you're on!"
"Smooth save Christie." Steve responded with a grin and Christie glared at him.
"Then I shall look forward to it!" Zach responded with a nod. "The campsite should be safe for now, now that I've captured that Gyarados."
"Thanks but we were going to move on anyway, we packed up the campsite whilst you were dealing with the Gyarados." Steve responded as he pointed to the now empty hill, Zach nodded before walking off. "So, what now guys?"
"That's easy we need to get to Terracotta Town to use their Pokémon center." Christie responded and the others nodded in agreement before walking off.
