From the first moment he saw Martel, Yuan could hardly breathe. Time seemed to stop. He found Mithos's hand waving in front of his face with a "Hey Yuan, you in there?" more than once, but he couldn't keep his eyes off of her.
He stumbled over his words when he spoke to her. She made his head spin when she laughed or even smiled. She was beautiful – everything she did was beautiful – he couldn't quite understand how she could continue to be so beautiful while the world collapsed around them, but that was all right.
Because in the midst of the chaos the world was in, it was just her and him, and the look on her face when he got down on one knee and held out the ring he'd gone to such lengths to get made time stop just as much as the first moment he saw her.
