For what must have been the tenth time that day, Lloyd's sword went flying through the air and clattered to the ground behind him. He scrunched the hand that had been holding it into a fist, fingertips biting into the tingle of being disarmed.
"Dammit!"
He swung with the other sword, but he had hardly moved his hand before-
Clang!
Gritting his teeth, Lloyd massaged his other hand. "Come on, why can't I beat you just once?!"
Across from him, Kratos sheathed his sword, folding his arms. "You are still inexperienced. In time, you will learn."
"Oh, easy for you to say, since you're so great and everything," Lloyd muttered beneath his breath, turning to retrieve his fallen weapons. Behind him, Kratos shook his head, almost smiling sadly to himself.
You will learn, Lloyd. I know you will.
