Eowyn was livid. If her anger could take physical form, her brother would have to be dealing with the devil himself. She was seething as she stared at her brother in his holding cell. Eomer, as always, wore a casual smile whenever it came to pissing Eowyn off. It was like he was taking a major in making his sister angry instead of in politics.

"How. Dare. You," Eowyn started, looking at her brother. She had basically run to the police station since the buses didn't ruin so late at night, expecting to find Eomer nursing a couple of terrible wounds from the car crash he had apparently been in. What she didn't expect, however, was Eomer to be in the holding cell, and learning that he was the one who caused the accident.

"Eowyn, I-" Eomer began but he was cut off by his sister.

"You caused a car accident. You drove into the side of a van on purpose!" Eowyn yelled, not caring that everybody else in the holding cells (a couple of teens who looked quite stoned) could hear here. "Do you know what the consequences of your actions are? Do you know how much trouble this is going to cause Uncle Theoden? He's the chief of the police force for goodness sakes! You bigoted, thoughtless son of a bitch!"

"Eowyn, your mother was my mother, you know," Eomer said. Eowyn shot him a glare, but the smile on his face made her seem like he relished the fact that he was making her so angry. Eomer then sighed, and looked up, "It was the right thing to do."

"No it wasn't!" Eowyn shot at him, "The right thing to do was call the police! But no, you had to drive your car into the side of a van to stop them! You could have killed Pippin and Merry! You could have killed the people kidnapping them! You are lucky you are not in here due to charges of manslaughter!"

"Eowyn if I had not done what I did, they would have died," Eomer said firmly, standing up so he could walk to where his sister was standing, grasping the cold metal bars tightly in her hands. He reached out and cupped Eowyn's cheek softly. Eowyn glared at her brother again, trying not to soften under his small, understanding smile. He was such a cheeky bastard.

Eowyn looked down at her feet, before she said, "I know…but..." she looked up at him, tears threatening to fall from the corner of her eyes as she then said, " You could have died, Eomer… after Theodred… I… I."
Eowyn tried to prevent herself from crying as Eomer's face twisted horribly. It was a year ago, but the mention of their beloved cousin's name ripped open the wounds on their hearts that the siblings had long tried to heal.

"Eowyn, you know he died because of Saruman," Eomer muttered, trying to prevent their conversation to be overheard. "You know that car crash was planned."

"Your car crash was planned," Eowyn sniffed, rubbing the corners of her eyes in an effort to not cry.

"I was trying to save people, Eowyn, not kill them," Eomer said defensively, before he looked up. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see him, and he then looked back down, "Pippin and Merry are my witnesses, they know I was trying to save them. Unless the jury is tipped off, I'm sure they'll be in my favour."

"The jury was rigged for Theodred's case, it will be rigged for yours, Eomer," Eowyn told him sternly. Eowyn sighed, her voice shaking with the tears she refused to let fall. Both she and Eomer knew it, though their uncle's eyes seemed to be clouded. It was no accident that the police cruiser hit Theodred's car; it was no accident that the driver had been pardoned.

They didn't have any facts; only suspicions, but Eowyn long knew that Saruman had been working in ties with Mordor College, and its the large corporate sister Mount Doom Industries. She didn't know what was in it for Saruman; perhaps power, perhaps money, but whatever it was, it meant that he was trying to hurt people in favour of Middle-Earth University and the basic well being of the city.

She also didn't exactly know when her uncle's judgement started to get corrupted. It had started before Theodred's death, she figured that much. She knew, however, that it had something to do with the newest vice chief of the police force.

She could see him now, out of the corner of her eye, lurking down the hall of the holding cells. His hair was as greasy as ever and his watery eyes flickering about in the small area. More than a couple times they lingered far longer on her, and she tried to prevent the chills from going down her spine. How she wished Faramir could have come in there with her.

She, instead, changed the topic from their cousin's unfortunate and only partially unexpected death (at least to Eowyn and Eomer), and changed it back to school.

"Your basketball coach is not going to be impressed," Eowyn told him. Eomer frowned at her, his eyes widening in a sense of internal panic. It was Eowyn's turn to smile as she looked at her older brother. "You totally forgot, didn't you?"

"No way," Eomer said, and Eowyn raised her eyebrows sceptically at him. He totally did, and both of them knew it. Eomer sighed, before he reached into his pants pockets and pulled out a blue bag. Eowyn was quite confused; usually they took away personal belongings when people were placed into the holding cells. Eomer casually ripped open the bag, and offered one to her, "Jolly Rancher?"

Eowyn's jaw dropped, and she rolled her eyes. "I can't believe you," she said, but she took one of the colour hard candies and put it into her mouth. "Where'd you get those?"

"Pippin gave them to me," Eomer told her, a hint of pride in his voice. "It's not much, but I didn't expect anything after I, you know, saved their lives."

Eowyn groaned at him, taking another one of the candies out of his outstretched palm. "Get over yourself."

"Never," Eomer informed her. She expected that much. She had lived with him all of her life, this behaviour was expected. The day Eomer would be humble would be the day that he died. Eowyn liked to believe she wasn't like Eomer in that way, but she knew that at least a small part of her (Faramir would protest and say a large part of her) was very much like her brother.

"I should get going, Eomer…" she said, "Have a nice night in the holding cell."

"What? You didn't pay my bail?" Eomer demanded, nearly choking on one of the candies. Eowyn gave him a rather sceptical glance.

"I'm a university student; you expect me to be able to pay your bail?" Eowyn said.

"You're in co-op; you have more money than me!" Eomer protested, and Eowyn smiled.

"We'll see," she said, turning around, her hair swishing as she went.

"I hate you, you know," Eomer grumbled back at her.

"You know you don't," Eowyn said as she slipped around the corner. She had full intentions of paying her brother's bail; what sister wouldn't? She supposed that Pippin's sisters might not, due to the fact that their parents would do it for them. But, paying the bail meant actually communicating with the greasy haired snot in the corner. The things she did for her brother…

She walked over, and pulled out her wallet. "How much for Eomer?" she asked. Wow. Eowyn thought, it makes it sound like I'm buying a shirt or something.

"Hello, Eowyn, I haven't seen you in a while," the man said, before he frowned, "I am afraid that your brother is not available for bail until he sees the court."

Eowyn tried to keep herself from lunging across the space in between her and strangling him. "Oh?" Eowyn instead replied, she knew that she was not going to be able to convince him to let Eomer go. "Can I go and tell him that?"

"Your visiting time is over."

Fuck you with a cactus, Eowyn thought as she put on her sweetest smile. "Oh. Well then. I hope you have a nice evening, Sergeant Wormtongue."

"Oh, you can call me Grima, we've known each other for quite a while," he said, and Eowyn only barely managed to contain her gag.

"I do not want to disrespect you," Eowyn told him, while she thought, oh yes I do you greasy slime ball.

"It's no disrespect, coming from the Chief's niece," Grima said.

"I'll keep that in mind," Eowyn said as she turned and made to leave the station. Faramir had better have had his phone on, because Eowyn needed to rant, and since Eomer was in jail she couldn't rant to him.

After a lengthy phone call to her boyfriend, ending off with making planes to go eat quite a considerable amount of ice cream the next day, Eowyn felt at least semi relaxed. She knew there was worse to come. She could feel it, and she knew that everybody else could as well.

Today I got up early to watch Canada win the gold medal for men's hockey, then I bought some fish and named them all after Lord of the Ring characters. If you'd like an update; Boromir's pregnant, Eowyn's chilling around, Faramir's acting like a pimp and Pippin is the awkward stalker of the group.
