Everything seemed to slow down. Time literally slow down for some people, and metaphorically for others. Dragono's heart of hearts slowed down slightly, while Maria felt like she was moving too slowly.
Emmet's heart started to slow down and blood almost ceased flowing from his wounds, while Lucy felt like there was nothing she could do from stalling the inevitable. Emmet slowly reached up with his claw hand, and placed it on Lucy's cheek.
"I'm…am sorry…for…not lis…tening…" he said, "This…is…al…all my…y fa…ult…all of…of it."
"That's not true," Lucy said, "None of this was your fault."
"Getting in Blaze's way was," Emmet stated, "Listening…to…him…"
"If you hadn't listened to him," Lucy said quickly, "Cre^dus would have won sooner."
Maria dived into the path of Dragono's heart of hearts just before it smashed into the ground. She looked at the round orb before her, and started to stand up. Granted she did so shakily, but when she was standing at full height, she took a closer look at the crystal orb.
'Do not worry,' Dragono stated shakily, 'I am fine, and still here.'
"Good, we may need your help," Maria stated, before looking up at her brother.
"Come on Blaze, give me your best," Cre^dus taunted, "I just killed one of the innocent beings of this world. What are you gonna do about that?"
Blaze didn't say anything, rather launched himself at his evil half-brother. Dark Blade and Dark Flame meet again, but this time there was no flash of light, and no sound. Instead Cre^dus immediately threw Blaze back across the room.
Blaze got up, and put his sword away. He then pushed his hand out in front of him, and in Cre^dus' direction. Cre^dus stood there, laughing his head off, before he felt cold fluid rise up his legs.
When he looked up, Blaze was charging at him again. Cre^dus tried to move his legs, but he couldn't move anything below his waist. Blaze was two steps away from Cre^dus, when Dark Flame's flat side smashed Blaze in the face. Blaze hit the ground by Emmet and Lucy, blood flowing from his temple.
"What are you doing?" Lucy asked worryingly, "Are you okay?"
"I've suffered worse," Blaze replied, jumping to his feet.
Cre^dus had just been able to get his feet out of the strange flowing Lego bricks, when he got smashed in the chest by more. He was stuck between a wall and these fluid bricks around his chest, stopping him from swinging Dark Flame.
Cre^dus decided that he would waste the meagre amount of energy that was within the body that he had taken over. He gathered all of the energy into a ball just outside of his chest, in the gap between his chest and the Lego, and let it explode outwardly.
Blaze was quite in the blast, and was momentarily stunned. Cre^dus used this opportunity to attack Blaze again. Blaze only just managed to catch Dark Flame, but at the cost of being thrown back a third time. This time, he smashed his back against the floor, his head hanging out of the window that was over the abyss.
"What's the matter Blaze," Cre^dus taunted, "Can't fight properly? Is there something wrong with your powers?"
"I don't need my powers to beat you," Blaze retorted, jumping to his feet, and rushing Cre^dus.
'Blaze could I suggest that this current course of action,' Dragono stated, 'Will only result in more death than necessary.'
'You could,' Blaze replied, letting Dark Blade smash into Dark Flame, 'but I don't see any other choice.'
Cre^dus didn't have to spend much time in defeating Blaze the fourth and fifth times, as Blaze soon began to tire. On the fourth try, Blaze had encased Cre^dus' whole body in Lego crystals, but they were blasted all over the room, sending Blaze into the ceiling, where upon landing, he broke his left arm.
On the fifth attempt, Blaze was knocked back several times, before being thrown out the window. As this happened, Anna rushed into the room. She watched, horrified as Blaze flew out the window, bones shattered, and blood seeping out of wounds.
"No!" Anna cried, "Blaze!"
Cre^dus turned around, his eyes lighting up as he spotted the Elf. Anna pulled Light and Ice out of their respective sheaths and charged at Cre^dus. The Demon was thrown back as Anna attacked him.
As the two fought, Cre^dus was driven further and further to the edge of the window that sat over the abyss. And in the abyss itself, a light started to glow, pulsing slightly as Cre^dus got closer. When Cre^dus was right on the edge, he lashed out, carving a deep gash into Anna's cheek.
The Light shot up from the abyss, snatching Anna away from the ledge, and placing her next to Maria and Dragono. The light then transformed into a glowing reconstruction of Blaze, who stood in between the Dark One and his friends.
"Blaze, I doubt that Cre^dus can be defeated at this time with only your powers alone," Maria stated, "I think that the last resort is our only option."
"But I can't kill the boy that Cre^dus took over…" Blaze argued.
"Blaze, we are out of options," Anna stated, "And there is no chance of saving that boy."
Blaze bowed his head, and then said, "Do it."
Cre^dus looked up, a terrified look coming over his face. Blaze recreated his physical body, and relaxed, as Maria and Dragono started channelling their energy into him. Anna stepped back, and stood protectively over Lucy and Emmet's now cold body.
Blaze wasn't worried, even if this was only the third time they had done this. The first time, they had only done it because Cre^dus had become over powered, and needed to be banished to the Dark Galaxy. At that point of time, Blaze had been forced to destroy his physical body, turning himself into pure energy.
"You can't do this!" Cre^dus shouted, "If you do, you'll tear apart the fabric of time and space."
"Not like you haven't already done that," Blaze retorted, adding his own store of energy to the now growing pool power.
Once the energy that they were pooling together had reached a point that Blaze could no longer stand, he launched himself at Cre^dus, turning himself into pure energy as he went. Lucy started to stand up, but she felt something grab onto her arm.
When she looked down, she noticed that Emmet's chest was rising and falling slightly. She looked up at Cre^dus and the ball of energy, and almost swore.
'I am sorry about causing Emmet's death,' Blaze's voice resounded in everyone's heads, 'I will fix everything. I can reverse your world's timeline, and I will fix any and all holes that may exist because of us coming here.'
Suddenly there was a bright flash, and Maria, Dragono and Anna disappeared. Lucy looked down at Emmet, and found that he was breathing again, and his chest had healed itself. Lucy bent down and hugged Emmet, before her and Emmet both blacked out.
