Chapter 47:Bhavana
When they rushed into the medical tent, they saw Ruidi, Caiyi, and Tim lying there. Their faces were deathly pale and their sheets were soaked with blood.
" Oh my gods and goddesses of Olympus," Bhavana gasped.
Alex gasped, too. " What happened here?" she asked.
" RUIDI, TIM, CAIYI! What happened, an attack by a rabid wolf?" Pranu said.
" Ya think?" Bhavana snapped. "How do you know them?"
"They helped me escape the Lab." Pranu replied.
"Uh huh, and I'm the queen of the world." Bhavana said sarcastically.
Alex sighed. " She's just mad that her boyfriend is possibly on the verge of death."
Bhavana blushed. " Shut UP! He's not my boyfriend!"
Alex rolled her eyes. " Well he's pretty darn close," she said.
Chapter 48: Alcyone
Alcyone looked over her shoulder at the Heartlesses chasing her. Sprinting down another alley, she wondered about exactly what they were. Didn't she read about them in a Disney manga? They were the remains of lost souls.
Alcyone quickly slowed down Time and vanished into the Void.
Once there, she released her hold on Time. Controlling it sapped a lot of energy. Suddenly, a square of light appeared within the dark nothingness. And disappeared. Two glowing green eyes blinked at her. Alcyone swallowed a scream.
"Void! Bring me to somewhere that can help." she ordered it, trying to keep the fear from her voice. A passage of light appeared. Alcyone stepped into the light.
Alcyone blinked. She couldn't believe her eyes. Rolling hills went as far as the eye could see. Alcyone walked cautiously toward it. She stopped suddenly.
There was something strange in the air. She searched with her eyes. Faintly, she could see a dome like... structure hovering over the hills. Almost like glass.
Alcyone decided she didn't want to risk it. She heard a sound behind her. A chittering laugh, followed by the rapid flapping of wings. The Heartless had followed her through the Void.
Chapter 49: Tim
It killed Tim to see Bhavana so scared. They had started their quest just a few days ago and here they were on the verge of death. Ruidi tried to burst into flames again. He got a little flicker going but he then fell back onto the bed, deathly pale. Eshana rushed to his side.
"Are you freaking crazy?!" She said. She poured him some water.
" Sorry," he said to her and closed his eyes a little. Soon he was sleeping.
"What the heck happened?" Pranu said. She had been silent the whole entire time.
"Robot inventor," Caiyi replied. "Hi Pranu."
"What 'robot inventor?' " Pranu asked. She thought for a second, then her face turned grave. "But he was condemned to the Underworld."
"Scissors got him back," Tim said, his throat was parched, "Bhavana, can you get me some water?"
"Sure." She said, and went to pour him a glass.
Chapter 50: Alcyone
Alcyone watched with horrified fascination as dozens of Heartlesses emerged from a gaping black hole in the fabric of reality. She noticed, now, that there were people inside this dome. She waved frantically at them, hoping to attract their attention. And it did.
A guy with a shock of white hair stood inside the giant dome. "Don't worry! The force field around here only kills monsters!"
Nervously, Alcyone took a step toward the invisible field. She gasped as the field shocked her with strong electricity, throwing her toward the Heartlesses and their waiting claws.
Chapter 51: Shirley
Shirley quickly got to work to heal the boys.
"You guys really should be more careful!" She said to them. She started a healing flame and brushed it over each of the boys wounds. They closed up quickly.
"We only have until the summer solstice to finish the quest." Alex said, "You guys should've been more careful."
"Exactly, now if we hadn't gone to save her, they would probably be okay." Bhavana said, referring to Pranu.
"Hey, it's not my fault I was being attacked." Pranu said.
"Well it's not my fault, that you're a bad fighter!" Bhavana retorted.
"I am not a bad fighter!" Pranu said, "You're just too biased to admit that you're angry that you're boyfriend's hurt."
"He is not my boyfriend!" Bhavana yelled.
"Well then stop being so self-centered." Pranu exclaimed.
"I am not being self centered you freaking daughter of Neptune!" Bhavana yelled again.
"That is it!" Pranu screamed and with that she concentrated. The water from the jug and the glass Bhavana was holding exploded onto her, soaking her to the bone.
"You will pay for that!" Bhavana screeched. She drew her sword.
"GUYS, CALM DOWN!" Shirley yelled, "FOR GOODNESS'S SAKE YOU'RE GONNA KILL EACH OTHER!"
Bhavana and Pranu stared at the usually quiet Shirley in astonishment.
"Sorry." They both said, ashamed.
Gosh, this quest is really taking it out of us. Shirley thought.
"Boys, you're good, but take it easy with the fighting okay?"
"Okay" The boys chorused in unison.
And with that they were off, into the deep blue sky.
Chapter 57: Artemis
My group of huntresses and I were walking in the forest when we heard a noise. We looked through the tree cover and saw a group of demigods. From their auras, we could tell they, individually, were not much, but together they could be exceptionally powerful.
"Milady, should we confront them?" Thalia, one of my faithful huntresses, asked.
I gave her a slight nod, just the barest tilt of my head. Silent as shadows, we creeped upon them. Ignorant mortals. They did not even sense our approach. Honestly, how is that incompetent Neesik training them these days? Not even rustling a leaf, we appeared beneath a canopy of trees. There were five of them. They seemed surprised to see us.
Thalia, ever so faithful, stepped out and introduced us. "We are the hunters." she said, in a serene voice. I stepped out from the group and said, in the same serene tone, "And I am Artemis."
After our introduction, the demigods started grunting among themselves. Then, almost in a chorus, they said, "SO YOU ARE CHEESE!" and burst into hysterical laughter.
My eyes widened with shock at such disrespect. My anger flared, and was immediately replaced by a cold, unforgiving thought that said, "punish them, they insulted you, they called you a dairy product from your brother's sacred herds" The thought was so appealing. I let the coldness grow, until it turned into a silver beam of light. I directed the light straight toward their smiling faces.
Somehow, they dodged my attack. With another round of muttering between them and a few shouts, the demigods suddenly threw a gleaming ball of almost pure energy toward my head. The Legendary Three.
Chapter 58: Thalia
The instant I saw them muttering, I knew there was going to be trouble. My intuition was correct when they hurled an orb of 98% pure energy. I was sure that My Lady would stop that- somehow!
Excerpt: Alcyone
"What the heck?!" Alcyone exclaimed from her spot within the Void. Three demigods were attacking a goddess! These kids must be pretty stupid, trying an attack like that on Artemis. she thought. Her opinion changed instantly as she saw the gleaming ball of light appear from their fingertips, and merge into a gigantic ball of seemingly pure energy.
The attack had the potential energy to drastically weaken, perhaps even destroy, the goddess of the moon. It would disrupt the balance of the world greatly if the gods lost one of their own. The moon would vanish, and the tides would engulf the earth.
Alcyone sighed. These children knew nothing. They did not take responsibility for their actions. "Time for time to intervene." she muttered to herself, then sighed again, imagining the colossal amount of energy she would spend to save a goddess.
