Faramir's life, it seemed, was beginning to revolve quite a bit around hospitals. He often visited the hospital to see his brother, though that no longer was depressing. Since Boromir was beginning to get better (and constantly complaining about how itchy the IV was), Faramir found that he was more prone to come to the hospital, and actually seemed to enjoy doing now.

However, he was at the hospital for a very different reason now, and one that was entirely unpleasant.

Eowyn was sitting in the waiting room, still shaking from yet another one of her hysterical crying fits, her head in her hands. Eomer was sitting beside her, rubbing her back in what Faramir supposed was to be soothing. The man who had just finished his court hearing, however, was simply staring off into space, his eyes focusing for a small amount of time before they simply trailed off.

Faramir didn't know what to do. He had lost his mother when he was five years old, and he had experienced that pain, but this was completely different. Théoden was the only person that Eowyn and Eomer had as a parent-like figure, as both of their parents had come down with severe cases of pneumonia and died when Eowyn was only two.

He stood there, watching as Eowyn started to sob again, unsure of what to do. Théoden was very near death, or at least that was what Faramir heard. Narcotic poisoning. The doctors were doing all that they could, but they still were not letting Eowyn and Eomer go and see him.

Suddenly, Eomer's eyes refocused on Faramir. The older man's mouth was set in a thin line, before he gestured down at Eowyn. Faramir followed Eomer's gaze, looking at his girlfriend as she tried to hide her face in her hands.

Faramir sat down next to her, his arm reaching around her shoulder and holding her close. She looked up at him, revealing the tear stains down her cheeks. Faramir gave her a small smile, before he held her close, "It will be okay, Eowyn. They have the best doctors here. If they could save Boromir, they can definitely save your uncle."

"But… what if they can't?" Eowyn demanded, her head flying upwards. Her eyes demanded an answer, but Faramir had none.

"If they can't… then you and Eomer have each other… and you'll have me and Boromir," Faramir said, reaching out and stroking her hair, "It won't lessen the pain in the slightest, but I want you to know that you're not alone in this, Eowyn. I promise I'll be there for you."

Eowyn sighed into his chest, nuzzling her head closer. Faramir looked down at her. Her breathing began to slow down, and Faramir was immediately aware that Eowyn was in desperate need of a nap. He said nothing, he just continued to stroke her hair as she lost consciousness.

Eomer and Faramir sat together in silence as Eowyn lightly snored. Finally, Eomer said, "He better not die…"

"He won't, don't worry," Faramir said, "The hardest part after these couple of days will be getting over his addiction."

"That Wormtongue bastard is going to pay for this," Eomer grumbled, his hands clenching into fists. Faramir looked at the man who had been impulsive enough to drive his car directly into the side of a van to save two of his friends. Eomer had a strong feeling for justice, and undying loyalty, but that sometimes got him into trouble. Faramir was hoping that he would not end up hearing about Eomer personally going in and stabbing Grima Wormtongue thirty-seven times in the chest.

"He will… have faith in the police," Faramir said quietly. Eomer whirled to look at Faramir, his eyes boring holes into the younger man. Faramir immediately looked down, unsure of what to say.

"This justice system isn't even a justice system anymore, it's a Grima Wormtongue and Saruman do whatever they want system. If it was an actually system, Grima would have been in jail for first-degree murder before he even got the chance to poison my uncle!" Eomer nearly yelled at Faramir.

Eowyn's head flashed upwards, and she grabbed her brother's arm harshly. Faramir was shocked that she had moved so quickly, but didn't want to say anything due to the fact that Eowyn's face had actually been one of the scariest things he had seen in his life.

"Don't," she said darkly, glaring at her brother, "he didn't know. Don't do this to him."

Eomer sighed loudly, running his hand through his hair. "I'm sorry, okay?" he said in a rather short tone. Faramir nodded as Eomer continued to grumble things under his breath.

Since Eowyn was no longer leaning on him, Faramir stood up. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't be here. I'm not involved with these things. Now, excuse me…"

Faramir left before he could make things anymore awkward between them. At first, he had no idea where he was going to go, but he then decided to go see Boromir. His brother always knew what to do (though Boromir would beg to differ).

Faramir didn't bother to knock, he simply opened up the door and found Boromir reading the comic book; The Adventure of Feanor and His Seven Sons. Boromir did not look up from the comic, but just said, "This is garbage."

"I found it quite interesting," Faramir admitted, sitting down at the chair next to Boromir's bed.

"You probably over analyzed it, turned everything into a metaphor, and then wrote sonnets about it," Boromir said, finally closing the book and look at his brother. Faramir grinned sheepishly, but did not have the will to correct his brother. Boromir frowned at him, "You look like shit."

"I could say the same about you," Faramir argued, gesturing to the IV that Boromir was still hooked up to.

"But I actually got into shit, whereas you didn't," Boromir pointed out, "What's eating at you?"

"Théoden is in the hospital," Faramir said. He waited a little while for the words to sink in. Since Eomer's parents had died when both Boromir and Eomer were too young to remember, Faramir knew that Théoden's name would hit Boromir hard.

"Théoden?" Boromir demanded, sitting forwards. His heart rate monitor began to beat louder and more frequently. "Théoden's invincible! How'd he get put into the hospital?"

Faramir had to smile at Boromir's exclamation of 'Théoden's invincible' and was immediately convinced that Théoden had once told his older brother that during a game. The ghost of a smile that did reach Faramir's lips did not stay there for long, however.

"His sergeant, Grima Wormtongue, had been administrating narcotics to Théoden instead of the antidepressants he had been diagnosed with to deal with Theodred's death," Faramir explained, "Théoden's in emergency care, and they're not letting Eowyn and Eomer visit."

"Ah. So Eowyn's bawling her eyes out?" Boromir commented. Despite Boromir's calm tone, his heart was still beating far too frequently to be Boromir's norm. Faramir could have smacked himself; this was a bad idea. He shouldn't have brought this stressor up to Boromir, especially now when he recovering.

"No. Yes. Maybe," Faramir stammered, being lost for words for the first time in his life.

"So which one is it?"

"Yes," Faramir said, before he sat down. He put his head in his hands, and leaned on Boromir's bed. "What do I do?"

Boromir paused for a moment, before he pulled the comic back over and opened it. "You always think that you need to do something, Faramir, but you really don't. You don't have to do anything but be there for her and not be a total ass."

Faramir looked up at his brother, "So I do nothing?"

"Yes," Boromir said, "You do nothing but what you'd normally do. Buying her a box of chocolates would seem insensitive, taking her away from here would make it seem like you don't care for her uncle, and Eomer would kill you if he caught you two having sex in a broom closet."

Faramir choked, coughing on his own spit and smacking Boromir on the shoulder. Boromir was chuckling deeply, though he had to stop doing so due to the fact that he began to wheeze. Faramir coughed one more time before he reached out to steady his brother. Boromir batted his hand away.

"I'm fine, I'm fine," Boromir told him, though he sounded everything but fine.

"Are you sure you're fine?" Faramir demanded, "Because I should be getting back to Eowyn."

"I'm totally fine. I have this shitty book," Boromir said, gesturing to the comic book. Faramir smiled, realizing that the more restless Boromir got, the more he was prone to adding swear words into his sentences.

"It's not a bad book, Boromir," Faramir said, straightening up and cracking his back, "It's very interesting. My favourite part is when-"

"No spoilers," Boromir said abruptly, flipping the page. Faramir grinned; perhaps his brother actually liked the book. Noticing his brother's grin, Boromir was quick to make a defense, "If I'm going to have to stay in here with only this book for company, it better be a surprise."

"Okay, okay," Faramir said, raising his hands in an attempt to quell his brother. His face, however, was full on grinning though, and that only seemed to piss Boromir off more.

"Go find your girlfriend," Boromir grumbled, "You're too annoying; she'll actually want your presence."

"Fine," Faramir said, trying to make it seem as though he was somewhat insulted by his brother's attitude. Faramir left the room, and was walking down the hall, a large smile on his face.

He was about halfway down the hallway when there was a loud shout of "DON'T FORGET TO USE A CONDOM!" that made Faramir's face turn red. He ran down the hallways as fast as he could in order to avoid further embarrassment from his brother.

I'm terribly sorry for my absence. I suffered from writer's block all through May, and now, I am still very sick. I got a throat infection due to exam stress, and I have multiple doctor's appointments in this month. I am also suffering from an allergic reaction to the new medicine I am taking.

Thank you very much for your patience.
